Does the Distressed Jackrabbit caller work on Iberian Wolves? It says it does. I've used it multiple times for them and so far I've had little success. Even when I know there is a pack not too far from me.

they'll react to callers, but not as often as other animals

also, having the Ambusher skill Fatal Attraction makes quite a difference in animal responsiveness to callers

startle call will not spook the animal instantly if you’re close, the whistle will either make them go alert/alarmed or spook them instantly, the whistle was made for flushing waterfowl off the water and rabbits/hares and small things like that out of the brush. I have noticed that the whistle spook range depends on your stance, so if you stand up it will spook further than if you were prone.

I'm trying to host a server for me and my friends via steam - epic crossplay. I have the game on Steam and I also own all the Dlc's including the maps etc.
Whenever I try to host specifically Medved Taiga and Yukon Valley it tells them that 1 of the players has to own the DLC and that they'll be kicked in 15 minutes. I'm on the server as that is happening and have never had that issue before.
Silverridge and Savannah works good with no issues, only medved and yukon. Any suggestions?

.22LR is without question the best weapon for hunting class 1 animals (birds and rabbits) except for pheasants

M1 from smoking barrels can take the larger animals without much issue

class 4-8, which is roughly blacktail deer to moose in size, tho it will struggle a bit on class 7 (bears) and class 8 (moose, elk, gemsbok)

M1 is also semi-automatic, you can fairly easily hit more than one animal in a herd before they spook and flee.

Or shoot the same animal twice if they're larger ones. It's nice to having to chance them for miles.

Coyotes are a pain

Basically they have extremely good vision/hearing and good smell. They do in fact constantly move, and chasing them is just going to cause them to flee harder.

And when you call them in, they don't come to you straight from where they were, they circle around.

Zeroing is a must have for any kind of rifle hunting

It's useful for the other weapons too, but for rifle hunting it is mandatory

the drop of the rifles is very easy to compensate for, Zeroing is not necessary, it is a ‘luxury perk’ but I use Zeroing as my default active perk, when I shotgun-hunt I use Boomstick and when I hunt with bows or ambush hunt I use Startle Call.

I might actually try to drop the Zeroing perk and become used to not having it, it would be fun

But the bullet drop is much much easier to compensate for than wobble, I consider Zeroing not necessary, but it does help if you can’t calculate the bullet drop that well, the wobble will change your experience of the game and makes a huge difference, that’s where I think they are different

Even with zeroing you still need to be mindful of your distance / shot placement.

It does just make it a little bit easier
