Which one is that?
where do you get improv blind?
stalker tier 3
It's not that necessary if you aren't frequently tracking things
further decreases visibility inside large bushes and shrubs. I can stand next to a pine or birch tree and have minimum level of visibilty to animals but a clear line of sight
Oh, gotcha. I haven't found that one to be essential, but it's nice!
Really valuable if you use bow much
That's a fair point, I am so not a bow hunter
i cant see improv blind
yeah animals with good eyesight it has lesser effect.
It is right next to soft feet actually
while we are on skills
im lvl 58 and i have 1 skill point im assuming ill get 1 more at lvl 60
question is do i put them to tag, whos deer or innate triangulation?
im am leaning to whos deer as some animals dont have caller
I prefer innate triangulation of those, but I haven't played with whos deer yet
I haven't put points into triangulation this time since if you use binoculars you can zero in on the source of an animal anyway
i thought it was something that lets you build a blind from scratch lol
I never used Who's Deer until this play but I'm having fun experimenting with it
Yeah, I didn't realize it wasn't random which other animals are called in... I may need to do a respec to play with it
what about tag?
or is it pointless as id only be able to shoot 1-2 animals anyway?
Tag is always useful but I'm skipping it this time as I had it my first play through and while it's handy it's not as useful as others I think and just enhances something which I've been able to do without enhancing
Who's Deer adds something which doesn't exist without it
if i only i had more points lol
Haha, that sounds right
i think ill split my points then and get 1 of tag and whos deer
lvl 2 whos deer is a chance of a chance doubt ill be seeing it used much
The ārandomā in the description of whoās deer is misleading I think. From what Iāve read, certain callers work on certain species they wouldnāt otherwise - like the deer grunt on jackrabbits. I think it may be random whether it works every time. Iām a newb with it
Iām going to add my last skill point for level 2 of whoās deer in hopes that it may provide better confirmation that a caller is working on another species
@tranquil tundra mind if link something from nexus?
not a mod but a sheet with data extracted from game about callers
Still would break Rule J.
anything "extracted" from the game is a datamine and thus covered by it
ah i see ok
Or freakin bears lol.
damn. I was doing a mission to photgraph some reindeer. saw a bear run through them. shot the bear. took photo then closed down the game
before going and harvesting the bear š¦
There is an extremely small chance that the bear could be alive when you get back on the game(regardless whether it died or not). If you see hunting pressure from where your shot the bear then itās almost definitely lost for good
yer there was a pressure spot before i shut down
Yeah, but thereās a chance the pressure wonāt be there when you open it again. Very small chance.
If it is there when you open the game again the bear is most likely gone for good
oh well
you have a weapon class which is like bison are 9 moose are 8 bears are 7 but then you have danger classes which on most herbivores only goes to 1-5 and then on carnivores goes from 1-9 danger class is what you get ur rating from
thats my understanding at least
Class is what weapons can be used on it. Class is shown in the corner of the spotting popup. Itāll be a number next to a symbol. Level is the size of the animal relative to its score. All deer except for whitetail, musk, roe, and red deer max at lvl 5, white tail, musk, and roe max at lvl 3. All predators I can think of max at lvl 9. Most herbivores with a few exceptions max at lvl 5, red deer and buffalo are the herbivore that max at lvl 9. All birds except for geese max at lvl 3. Geese max at lvl 5. All rabbits/hares max at lvl 3. All sheep/goat/ibex max at lvl 5. I think that covers everything
Classes determine what ammo types you can use and are roughly correlated with the size of the species in question.
Levels are roughly correlated to the size of the animal within its species. each species has a different max level, and they are as follows:
Species that max at 9 - LEGENDARY:
-Predators (bears, felines, and canines)
-Both types of Buffalo
-Red DeerSpecies that max at 3 - VERY EASY:
-Rabbits & Hares
-Ducks
-Turkey
-Pheasants
-Roe Deer
-Musk Deer
-Whitetail Deer (excluding great ones)Anything not listed above maxes at 5 - MEDIUM
As soon as I downloaded the game and launched it the game crashed straight away
So much neater than mine š®
FL Sporter Vs Martennson
who wins
.303 (FL Sporter) has a good bit more punch, but 6.5mm (martensson) has a flatter bullet trajectory and is lighter (it's actually the third lightest rifle in the game)
you decide what's more important to you
I see, as long as I use zeroing trajectory shouldnt be a problem tho
thanks for the advice
so what determines wheter its silver gold etc?
the trophy rating
on animals with antlers and horns, the trophy rating is determined by said antlers/horns. usually it's the size, spread, mass, and complexity of the antlers/horns
so difficulty/size has nothing to do with it?
higher weight is correlated with higher trophy ratings
correlated because it is possible for an animal to score lower than one a couple kilos lighter than it
so how do i know, when spotting a creature, roughly what trophy rating it will be?
and then there's oddballs like this (this is a rare glitch that only occurs on blacktail deer)
as it doesnt show weight
usually the difficulty rating can help you gauge what medal (i.e. bronze, silver, etc) the animal may have.
there is also a skill that you can unlock in the ambusher skill tree called "spotting knowledge" which will give you info about the animal's weight range, approximate trophy range, and state of awareness (i.e. calm, alert, etc)
oh it shows weight?
I have that and hadnt noticed š
here you can see all that info
(this is a very small lynx in case you couldn't tell)
ahhh gotcha now. thanks so much. now I just need to learn the weight ranges for animals š
all the different ratings were confusing me
as for trophy ratings, they can vary WIDELY from species to species. for instance, no predator goes above double digits, many deer species will go into the 200's, and some deer species can exceed 400 trophy rating. as you might expect, this also means that the trophy ratings that animals make diamond at also varies widely between species
thankfully, there is a spreadsheet pinned to #š¦ļø“trophies that will tell you what the requirements for silver, gold, and diamond are
Ok I have no idea what that spreadsheet means š¦
So first off, thereās a total of 11 pages on the spreadsheet, the front page shows permitted ammo types for each class, as well as what class each animal is
The other ten pages (one for each reserve) show max weights, trophy rating thresholds, fur type rarities, and need zone times. What we shall focus on is the trophy rating thresholds
@sterile pilot
ahhh
i couldnt get past the 1st page
(still cant)
ok figured it š
thanks again
š happy hunting!
Hey I was wondering where can I hunt for turkey in the new Zealand map?
now i have another problem its no longer displaying the message but i'm running its me but synchronization with steam cloud what should be done
Any of the open areas on the right side of the map and most of the way along the river I havenāt had any luck in the top left of the map but the bottom left has some in the open spots along the coast but that being said they arenāt very easy to find and srp is a better map for them in my opinion
Hi sorry to disturb you normally when I click on the animal steps there is the indicator that says where it works with a color but now it does not work anymore however I have to restart the party and also the game nothing want to be as before
Is something with your tracks turned off in settings?
Is it night time in your game?
So it is days and no I have not touched anything in the parameters to deactivate it suddenly came like this for me and my colleague
OH FUCK THX man ā„ xD
Really late reply but reason why I asked how to because I recently lost a diamond turkey
if i kill all the bucks in a whitetail herd will they respawn or will it be doe only?
Animals usually respawn the same sex. Leave a few does so the herd persists. Bucks will respawn but maybe not into the same herd. Nobody knows this for sure, but it is thought that there may be a small chance an animal can change gender when respawning.
But basically, shooting the bucks is how you āgrindā since when they respawn they will either be a level higher or lower, and you rinse, repeat, to get higher and higher level animals
any idea when they respawn?
idk i "THINK" ive had respawns as fast as a few min but then also ive had it feel like hours
I have heard it can be up to a few days but I have no idea first hand
sometimes you wont see any where you normally hunt and theyll move to an area you dont frequent
happened to me with bears
Hereās a question though. Does time pass on a map only if you are there, or can you hunt days on ither maps and have days pass on all?
pretty sure its map respective
Pretty sure it is
i mean if times that big of an issue just leave ur cotw open while ur eating or something so you can get free time passed
@hidden basin what is ur pfp
Why u ask?
I thought so too but since time of day remains the same if you switch from the map screen I have started to wonder
cuz ur pfp and description confuse me
Good.
fair
I can start on Layton, go to Hirsch and sleep, then go back-and it is morning in Layton, which suggests that time has passed there too
But that would not be inconsistent with the engine running a simple map-specific time counter anyway
You are usually so (rightfully!!) proud to tell people about it š¤
Are The Geese Fixed For Console?
Geese have been fixed for a while now.
Pick your favorite.
Depends on what you are using it for. For Geese, there isn't much difference as you are using birdshot for any of them
Personally I use the 1891 .10 gauge (DLC) for its 3 rounds. The Grelck Drilling rifle .16 gauge is nice because you can use the rifle scope when shooting it as a shotgun too
Smoking Barrels DLC
Theres a shotgun in smoking barrels?
I never knew?
Unless Its The One I Use For Slugs?
Yup. .10 gauge shotgun which is my personal fav shotgun.
Alr.
Oh yh its the one I use lol I use it on the pheasants.
Yeah its slugs are wonderful too. Before I unlocked the .44 magnum I used it as "just in case" wolf defense weapon
yeah they do class 9.
so what is it lol iāve never had the guts to ask lol
The cacciatore or however you spell it. It holds 6 shots. Most people use the .22 but thats lame. Not really goose hunting like that. Id like to see anybody shoot a goose out of the air IRL with a .22. Not very realistic
Everyone has their own preferences.
I'm not judging. I like realism. If u like arcade style than thats ok too. Wasnt arguing
People seem very sensitive in this discord.
Some people view hunting, irl and gaming, more of a passion....not entirely sensitive
Yea I'm sorry. I dont mean to offend anybody. Was just my opinion. Im very sorry to everybody.
Not everyone that plays this game hunts irl either
yeah a lot of people don't. many do, but a lot don't
Ok. I thought a lot of people would since its a hunting game. Again I'm so sorry
don't need to apologize anymore. just keep it in mind for the future
lol no need to apologize
Ok. I'm sorry. I dont want to upset people :(
you're good
Ok. I will. I guess my opinions my opinion. I dont mean to upset everybody :/
my opinion: if you wanna hunt a certain way, as long as you're not cheating, i have absolutely no problem with it
there's a handful of people here whose bows you will need to pry from their cold dead hands lol
What do you mean?
Yup š š¹
as in, they straight-up refuse to use anything other than a bow
You shoot geese with a bow?!?!
i'll let this video explain for ya
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ur37k9PtrA
Ok. Will watch. Thank u much
should give you a pretty good idea of what a madlad might try to do
(i will confess that i have done a few madlad-ish things in this game)
anyways we're getting off topic and should probably move to #š¦ļø“general
There are people that like to snipe their prey....I like to get up close and personal to my prey lol š
Will this game ever be cross play
what is it?
very unlikely. implementing crossplay is not a trivial task, and given sony's stance on it, it's probably just not practical to do so
Ok
Good morning everyone
#882552632793767966 has been separated. There is now a separate #895874328414003230 for classic. To see either of the feedback channels, you will need the corresponding role. Server feedback is no longer being accepted in these channels and should be directed to and managed by the server moderators/cm's.
@last hemlock how exactly is that gonna work?
Which part?
both the feedbacks?
One is for COTW and one is for THC.
okay um question what happens to the ones we feedbacked on before?
They'll be recorded.
okay thanks for telling me cause i love both of the games and love giving my feedback š
You won't see either channel without the corresponding game #887274968801480736 tho
or the #882552595745484801 channels either
First of all, I advise looking at #šļø“rules for the first role you need
got you
when to yotes drink on rancho i gain for some reason cant remember, im assuming 0:00 and 0:30 but idk
nvm i got it now 21:30
21 to 00
Can zones be hidden? I have a couple White Tail zones that don't show up on the map, but they're there.
Just wasn't sure if that was a game thing or if mine is just bugged. *shoots her Rancho shotgun at nothing *
zone stacking can occur. all it shows is the most recent one you picked up
Animals can be in "zoneless" areas
probably usually when they're traveling to the next zone
This has been my favorite white tail stop for awhile. So it's probably stacking with the black tail on either side?
the icons are stacked need zones, so u should have blacktail that also drink where those icons are, or cotton tail rabbits or something
and also, the icons have like a radius of how far away something drinks from it so like it can be anywhere along that bank tbh
Those stacking zones are so annoying
technically this would actually be sorta realistic as three of the four revolvers appear to be SA/DA from their appearance
where are the best spots for turkeys in silver ridge?
From personal experiences I don't think there is a best spot it seems like there's Bunches of them all over the damn map
Turkeys are pretty much all over SRP where there are woods and fields
You can find a single one eating or a pair most of the time any where that there's open land and in the valley on the left hand side of the map you can just find flocks off and on all the way up there as well as up in the Northern parts
I had a huge flock of a dozen in the Swiss region last night. Just made a mental note myself as they were walking among a bunch of Elk and I went for the Elk
Wow
Ikr I have never seen a concentration of more than 2 or 3 anywhere else
I had to stop using even a bow as the HP got worrisome
I thank 6-7 might be the most for me
sometimes I feel like im missing something obvious in this game
I was testing turkey decoys on Rancho yesterday because Iāve seen more on that map than SRP before that
On ta they are only in like 3 small places and that's it there really nice place to hunt
Oh you're always missing something you learn new stuff pretty much forever even a thousand hours down the road you'll still learn new things and a few that seemed pretty much right there should have knew that from the beginning
so far im just wandering about aimlessly in circles. thats after I am following turkey tracks
they go for like 2 sets then disappear
Turkeys fly!
Callers are useful. They are very responsive to them. But sometimes will drive you nuts
yer i been spamming the caller
Best thing imo use the mouth call once or twice then switch to the crow call get them fussing then switch back to the mouth call and use it about every 30 seconds
That's if you know there their then if you're running around use the crow call about every 10-15 seconds
Yeah Iāve noticed that often, one of the two callers will set a turkey to calling back repeatedly (and not moving). Using the other caller will frequently cause it to shut up and start moving to you. Not always, and doesnāt seem to follow a rule on gender etc.
Yeah that's the sole purpose of the crow call to make them start calling
I actually do not know if it actually attracts or not
ahhh so i need both callers
That makes sense as it is usually the cluck caller which gets them to clam up and move
I didn't know it actually made them completely stop moving though that's good to know
Yeah before three days ago I wasnāt sure either but in that time iāve focused turkeys on SRP and Rancho and had at least a half dozen I could see while calling and they are pretty stationary when spamming you
Also the decoys get the gobblers to puff up and flourish their feathers like I have never seen them do otherwise except in a taxidermy pose
so far my shotgun rating(score) is negligible. I need to find an easy way(target) to rank it up
Turkeys are good for that
just need to find some now
I would go to parts of the map where you can see them more easily. The plains around the default starting area are one. Sun Sisters, Two Fawns, and the Swiss region I have seen them at render range
And you can camp need zones
Do you have access to birdshot tho
Cuz shooting turkeys with buckshot will get a penalty on the shotgun score that you get
Geese would be the fastest way to level shotgun but tedious
That's the most efficient way yes as long as you have birdshot
One of the reasons Iāve been doing turkeys is my shotgun score has lagged behind both handguns and bows and I havenāt unlocked everything. Itās maybe 2500ish but the lowest
I think my handgun accuracy, which was below 50% at one point, is even higher than for shotguns since I got the goshawk scope
Woo
Turkeys can be especially obnoxious about showing up at an appropriate time and place for their need zones in my experience
im clutching at straws at this point
i havent even heard any yet
And sometimes you may find a need zone for one stinking turkey. I donāt camp those at all because one turkey changing its mind about where his need zone shall be is frustrating
My tactic pretty much is run around until I hear a warning call stop in my tracks and start using the turkey calls after making sure I find a good Bush to hide it with a good shooting range
The only issue is this tactic weeds out diamonds and high gold's mostly
thats what I had been trying but not heard anything
Well the other thing I would say about turkeys on SRP is that if you ONLY hunt turkeys you will go nuts. When I went out yesterday I got one turkey, 2 bighorn and 5 elk. Focusing turkeys only demands huge patience
yer theres plenty of other stuff to kill
im just trying to get better at using shotguns cos right now I totally suck
Everyoneās map is unique but the place I saw more turkeys than ever last night was in the north center map. There is a lake with an outpost at 1 oāclock to it. From that outpost the land climbs in a big green swath of field with a few fir trees sparsely placed to the west. I was taking shots at Elk at render limit. Bighorn, goats, and turkeys out the wazzoo
Does anyone successfully use buckshot for anything? I can never get enough pen to get a vital with it, even close-range and appropriate class.
ehhhhhhhhh
Gotta be farther back
13m, almost broadside, didn't pen enough
For whatever reason most of the time under 20 m buckshot barely penetrates
I have actually double lunged black tail deer with buckshot before at like 25 30 m
Thatās good to know lol
He came a little to close duck hunting
Np just be careful to not hit the skull on really good animals
Most of my skull shots were perfectly lined up heart shots on ungulates when eating
Lol
Mine are lung shots that the animal turns unexpectedly mainly always with wolves
Buckshot is also good against roe deer
when you want a head shot and the game says no
Ha!
sorry it was 1 lung and liver
I will have to test it out... with a rifle in my pack as backup š
wrecks bobcats to
My favorite use for buckshot is running around and shooting animals that are fleeing towards me or close range away from me with it
That would be a pain for rifle shots
I wish I still had the screenshot from a couple years ago of this. I was on SRP stalking a turkey and heard an animal rustling bushes so I had to drop prone where I could see a fat lot of nothing in any direction. It stopped, so I resumed calling, sure it was the turkey, and slowly it crept closer. When it finally was on top of me it was a friggin BEAR. I unloaded three .10 gauge birdshot rounds into it and it ran off. I doubt that killed it but I had a great SS when I caught it of a bear full of birdshot
Lmfao
FINALLY!
Got one of the buggers.
I didn't hit him in the air but managed to get him when he landed behind me š Thanks for the tips and advice peeps. Gold too.
Youāre lucky! I wish turkeys on SRP would fly to me more. Itās irritating watching one walk to you from 200 yds away.
Woo congrats
As someone that shoots them from 300+m away I see one anywhere it's dead
Yeah usually I only have a bow in hand for class 1s or I would too
um for some reason im unable to click on my first lodge
when i click first enter the menu its preselected
but if i click another lodge i cant click the first one must reopen the lodge menu so it preselects it again
it did bug out on me earlier today i entered it and was greeted with this
and this
Have you tried to verify your game files yet?
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
nope will do that now
also in case anyone gets the same issue deleting all lodges and remaking them doesnt fix the problem
and file verification didnt fix this either
Well, in that case, I'd suggest reporting it. #šļø“support
Load out recommendations for vurhonga?
I usually take the .243 and the .338 for starters. .44 mag maybe
Class 1: .22LR
Class 2-3: .243
Class 4-6: pick ONE of the following
-.30-06
-M1
-.303
Class 7-9: pick ONE of the following
-.300 Canning Magnum
-Rangemaster 338
this same loadout will work on every map, tho on rancho you may wanna swap the .300/338 with a shotgun
With Vurhonga it's hard to carry the ideal weapon to cover all classes at once. A bow makes a good addition since you can cover every class with it in a pinch. If I have just about exactly a pound of space I'll take the .22 pistol for 1s
Thank you!
why dont i see 7mm in there?
because it sucks lol
sacrilege
7mm would be redundant to the .300 and 338
7mm is an overpowered on 4-5, okay for 6 and pushing it on 7-9 unless you like following buffalo tracks
tis actually not overpowered on 4-5
or you are a good heartshooter and wdym overpowered?
nothing wrong with overpowered if it's in class, but Cash is right I overstated that.
reason i didnt include the 7mm is cuz the m1 and .300 cover the same roles and do them better (7mm is more of a jack of all trades weapon)
I usually go for heartshots but I don't want to NEED a heartshot if I can help it
do correct me if im wrong but the 7mm has issues with class 9 only?
7mm has gone from being the master weapon to a pretty meh weapon to a jack of all trades weapon
8 and 9 it struggles with
welp
I would rather shoot a moose or elk with a .50 cal than the 7mm. But the 7mm probably does better on those than the .303 or .30-06s, but marginally if at all
like i said, its a jack of all trades weapon
the downside to being the jack of all trades is that it's the master of none
I'd say it's handy if you want to cover 4-9 with one weapon, for space, but if you instead use a .303 or .30-06 AND the canning or rangemaster, you spend less time pursuing wounded animals on the high end.
lol meant to say you put your finger on it but that looks more like a downvote
lmao
Drilling rifle is better than 7mm
trying shooting past 150m?
Very easy with practice
arent heart shots easy with practise too?
Yes?
would you please present said evidence?
i mean i wont disagree with that
BUT how can weapon A have better heart shots then weapon B?
that was the evidence i wanted presented....
Because i can snipe somethin with it farther than like anything
6.5mm aint got shit on this thing
we be talking about 7mm though?
and from what i have understood from videos and reddit 7mm is very accurate?
Accurate? Yes, powerful? No
i dont think a bison will walk off a heartshot from 7mm or .338
and this makes me scratch my head
Yeah but if you miss the heart the .338 will do much more damage than the .7mm will
^^
.338 is literally the best for 789
Or the best for class 9
.470 and 454 work, but small range and kinda shitty scopes
isnt it similar to the .300 which has more ammo in the magazine
.338 has slightly better stats, but one shot.
so if you miss/botch the shot, you're likely out of luck.
tbh i concider the .338 locked away for me
7mm is the .338s younger and more loved brother
at least until i get to cuatro and do the challenge
If I want to relieve hunting pressure on an area of the map, will I relieve more pressure by making shots in the open with rifles versus, say, shooting with arrows from a blind, which applies minimal pressure? Just wondering if lifting hunting pressure is equal to the new HP applied or if it's more shot-for-shot, such that a bow can remove more HP than it causes?
i thought pressure goes by the kills
as in the game tracks only your last 16 kills (regardless of weapon) for pressure
That would answer the question if that is how it works
should be easy to test if you are on hirsch and can hunt geese
Yep, it goes based on kills. If you shoot the rifle and donāt hit anything, hunting pressure wonāt raise. Same goes for if you hit an animal and it doesnāt die. Guns cause more hunting pressure than bows, but hunting from a blind will lower the pressure caused by all weapons I believe
Why does theHunter shut down all the time? It's just crashing.
Ayo so how does the bloodhound work. I last played before they existed
basically the bloodhound (refered to as dog) tracks blood from animals, and has its own little skill tree. You can upgrade that to help it track, be a better companion, or scare off predators
Is it worth having or just a cool thing you have to option of using
depends on who you ask
some will say no, some say yes, some say it's a nice companion
for me, its a cool thing i rarely use
but it can help you out more
if you use it and upgrade it
I like having the dog, but after getting her max level I put her away and only take her out if I don't feel like finding a track I lost
Iād use the dog a lot more if the heel radius is increased, you move like 50 feet and it wants to get back up to follow you and spooks animals
So the dog does actually spook animals?
PS4 platform For me it doesn't work anymore with the geese!
iirc the dog has issues tracking canada geese and is also a known bug that is on the to do list
The problem is that I haven't had any geese since yesterday! And you don't hear any either!
Are you playing in multiplayer or single player?
and are you using lures and decoys*
single player
You could try moving to a different field and set up decoys and a hunting blind then restart the game completely and just wait it out. I usualy hunt geese in the morning hours
is it possible to complete missions in multiplayer?
No, missions are sadly single player only
thanks
im struggling with pheseant shooting and would have been nice to have some help lol
like the turkeys yesterday, they seem had to find. At least I can hear them. just never actually see them
Are you hunting them in silver ridge peaks?
pheseants im in Rancho del Arroyo
if so the crow caller helps you locate them as they give vocal responses then use the mouth caller to call them in. I have not hunted rio grande turkeys yet but I'd imagine they are the same
I usualy wait for small game to pass by instead of chasing after it
yer i wasnt having much luck with the callers yesterday. it was sheer dumb luck that one flew by
but the 'clear and pheseant danger' mission is bugging me out. i want to get it done so I can move on
I had trouble with the bow hunting fox mission in Hirschenfeld because the vegetation concealment is bugged and I was unable to get below half visibility so all the foxes ran away 𤣠is there a better way to hunt with a bow (especially with the longbow) if anyone has any tips, would be appreciated.
I have 5 geese spots on Hirschfelden! That worked well since the last update! Since yesterday there have been no geese, not even when I close the application and restart it!
that's odd since there was no update that could have caused the issue. I use one spot primarly and it has lots of goose traffic let me get a ss of it
@last hemlock I always get flocks flying over this field and it works well for me
thank you for your help! I'll make 2 out of 5 spots, then switch to another map and then do a restart!
@lavish swift I also made a spot where you got it! And then restart and the geese will come back! Thanks againš
Glad I was able to help š
If you own the DLC, use the 22.lr Virant rifle. it is excelent for hunting geese
@lavish swift
I did all of this through the google translator! My English is not that good!
Greetings from Germany š
@lavish swift Alles klar! Gut zu wissen! Das spart mir eine Menge Zeit šš
the fur type is rare, the trophy rating is silver though which means it is a medium sized coyote.
Is that a albino?
albino jackals are quite rare indeed
or if thats a red fox or coyote
i cant tell
Can anyone help me?
Upload files.
basically steam cloud sync hasnt synced with your game save. you need to choose the right option or start a new game. if you play call of the wild on pc back up your game regular .
But which one should I choose?
upload files
Thanks for the help š
what does it mean when you hear an animal call but the sound bars/brackets(indicator doesnt show?
it means the sound bars/brackets dont show
not helpful
well the animal is still out there
obvs
anyone know why i cant fire the 1897 model shotgun you find. Im trying to shoot the tin cans
nvm i relogged and it works fine now
Me again: You know how you can go to the range to practice rifle shooting.
Is there a way to practice shotgun shooting(moving objects) like clay pigeon shooting or something?
nope there isnt
i think theres another map that has a shooting range where you get animals pic to shoot at but no clay shooting
That you have to learn in the field
Parque has a bow range
Basically just a range with shorter and more variable distances
Ahhh oki thanks guys.
Hopefully there will be a new map DLC in the future that includes one.
Two places I would like to see maps for are UK, and Aussie outback
They certainly havenāt said there wonāt be
lol
Usually twice a year, so the next one should be out around December/January
if I'm not mistaken and they are on schedule. Maybe they'll take their time this time though, seeing as the last Map release broke the game for weeks
just another african one in general
Pretty sure the reason we haven't heard of a smaller DLC yet is because they're focusing on QoL/bugfixing
I want another African as well, but I'm guessing it'll be either Australia or Arctic Canada, which I'm both looking forward to as well
Which is a good thing!
Qustion: Is inviting friends to lodges broken? Whenever I try to create a session my game crashes
Known issue
both are very good options
asia is a neglected continent
ah oky
blame the chinese
Hunting is illegal altogether in a large portion of Asia from what I've heard
but this convo isn't really a help-and-tips one anymore
need a bit of a clarification on need zones
so i found a feeding zone that has like 7 grass patches flashing
i interact with 1 and half turn to active track color
does that mean that the inactive colored ones are a different pack of animals or does it mean something else?
it means one animal used those three active grass patches
so it may or may have been the same pack
jackal
Anyone got any tips for a new player? Just started and im a bit lost ngl
Pay close attention to what ammo can be used for which animal classes.
.243, for example, can be used on anything from foxes to red deer, but not moose or bison.
@cerulean surge try watching scarecrowās beginners guide videos on YouTube. He made them this year so they should be helpful to you.
Is there a specific map i should start on? Like are some easier than others or?
Hirsch or Layton would be the best bets for that
id personally say not hirsch
A lot of people say Layton's easier, but personally I find all the hills/mountains and swamps impossible to find things in
with Hirsch, you just have to keep an eye on the cornfields and strawfields in the mornings
problem is if not in said fields there too many shrubs
I honestly didn't find all the shrubs a problem myself. Just call things out.
Alright, im currently on Te Awaroa National Park should i switch or just continue?
oh TA's a good one
while northwest doesnt have shrubs it also sadly doesnt have that many animals either
.243 can take most things on that map
and by most I mean the only thing it'd fail a harvest check on are the turkeys.
I managed to take down a feral goat on my way to the lookout tower
I'd wait on really going for red deer until you get the .270, or better yet, the free .303 you'll get later in the story
the good about hirsch are the goose if you have the dlc literal money printer
Alright, ty for the help, ill go continue with my story n take down whatever i come across
Oh 1 last thing, i have the bloodhound dog should i be bringing him with me and using him with tracking and stuff or is it not needed?
I think Layton is easier than Hirsch but both are good to start with and follow the initial quest line helps and gives instructions. The tutorial items in the Codex are hugely helpful too
The dog is useful for when you can't find the next track of an animal you hit.
The bloodhound is useful if he/she sometimes gets in the way, and just having it out helps it level up. When you whistle commands to it animals don't hear that. Basically the bloodhound does one thing very well, and that is follow the blood trail to an animal you shot
The bloodhound can spook animals. Those with keen senses, such as goats, especially.
Ah
idk if you have Cuatro but ibex are also super-alert animals
Yeah, if I am using a hunting stand or ambushing, I will either kennel Penelope first, or at least tell her to lay down. The range within which animals sense the bloodhound is still pretty short, but as Lyra said, for some animals short is enough
I was playingg on the Rancho del arroyo earlier and i did use the hound to track a boar or something that i hit
Rancho's story will get you a free (if currently slightly bugged) shotgun
So ive just had him come with me everywhere incase i dont get the kill first shot but i didnt know if it could alert the animals or anything
I wouldn't be too worried about that. Animals are more likely to be alerted by your sound, sight, or smell before the bloodhound factors in, 90% of the time.
I just found something i can build for 2100 should i do it? Its by a lake
Sound especially is your worst enemy. Just walking at normal pace, without going through brush, your sound projects easily about 150m
probably no better save the cash for weapons first
You will find lots of those, and while they can come in handy sometimes, I would hold your money early
Alright
you want to at least have weapon covering all animals classes first
I have all the maps and there are 2 or 3 on every map which I've built and used. They chiefly reduce your visibility to about 50m to animals, but when you move around inside them, that sound still travels, as does your scent. You can also end up waiting a while in a stand for animals to show up, or respond to your callers, so it can be boring
They are most useful when you find animal need zones within shooting distance of them, and then you can go there during that time and snipe them from it with low detection by the animals
I havent been using my callers since ive got 2 turkey ones and a deer one equiped rn
This tower i found has a need zone right next to it
Within 50m of eachother
nice! Need zones are different every time you start a map, and they move around, so it's not predetermined that at any given time, a pre-built hunting stand like that will be in an ideal spot
Should i build this one then since its so close to a need zone or no?
the zone are at the same spot the place the animal rest/eats/drink in its zone will be different
If you have enough money and intend to use it presently or in the near future to hunt from, sure
You only have to pay that once and it will be built on your map permanently
Its for Chamois i believe since all tracks and things nearby are chamois
But there are a lot of them and it can get pricey
I think ill build this one since the need zone is so close and i could get a free kill or 2 from itt hopefully
hirschfelden had roughly 100 of those buildable structures imagine pay 2k on average for each
When you look at the map and zoom in close enough the need zone will show, and what time it is used, so that you know when to be in it. I usually try to be at a need zone ambush spot a half hour before the allotted time, though the animals may not show up immediately.
Have you learned about "hunting pressure" yet?
Nope-
Also the need zone is chamois 05:00 - 08:30
kk. When you kill anything you will note a pinkish circle on the map around the spot where the fatal shot was delivered. That's hunting pressure. If you overlap more than one kill, it becomes pinker/redder. When hunting pressure gets high enough, it will wipe out any need zones within that area, and the animals will basically establish a new need zone elsewhere. So the idea is to avoid letting HP get high enough to erase the need zone. You can lower hunting pressure in a spot by applying it on other parts of the map
Ah so i dont want to be in 1 area for too long basically?
Also, the amount of hunting pressure a given kill applies will vary. If you are out in the open using a rifle, it will apply the maximum amount per kill. If you are in a stand or blind, it's half that per kill, roughly. And using a bow lowers it further still.
Unless you are deliberately intending to remove that need zone (which you don't usually have a reason to do), then yes, you want to limit the number of kills at a time in a given area to avoid erasing the need zones there
Alright, tysm for letting me know abt that
I probably wouldnt have figured it out otherwise
I spent about 3 hours yesterday moving around Silver Ridge Peaks to remove hunting pressure from a spot where I have a turkey need zone I am fond of using
Damn
One other point about need zones is that as you level up your skills, there is one (I don't remember which) that allows you to see how many animals USE that need zone. Sometimes, especially for predators, it's only one animal, so if you kill that animal the need zone will vanish. but since it was only a 1 animal need zone it wasn't that useful anyways
there may be 2 animals 1 per pack at the same need zone though
it's when you find feeding, resting, drinking zones for herds of animals that you are more motivated to protect them, hoping that as hunted animals respawn, they will go into the herd that uses those need zones for you.
Yup. By moving need zones around by deliberately applying hunting pressure to certain ones, you can try and "stack" need zones in the same places, but that's pretty advanced stuff
Oh, and there is a super helpful spreadsheet made by A-a-ron which is in a pinned message in the Trophy gallery channel, which shows tons of info for every map, including the times each species uses need zones on those maps
tracks disappear at night
you can use your flashlight or the night gear from teh dlc to have them reappear
animal wont care for the flashlight use with impunity
Damn i spooked some pigs because i was just running to my quest š
Making noise is sometimes a useful way to find out where animals are, as they will give warning calls or you will see them, but it also puts them into a "fleeing" state for some distance/time, before they resume their routines
well, now you know where they will be tomorrow at that time, and you can prepare to ambush them
True
There's a caller for pigs but you have to level up some before it's unlocked
The main callers i have atm is turkey ones idk if i have any in my storage though
Its just all ones that i got for free though
On Te Awaroa the only callers you can use as a starting player would be those turkey callers. The others are all unlocked as you level up.
Damn ive got a bad shot, there was a pack of feral goats right infront of me and i whiffed twice
Well you learn from practice. There is also a shooting range on the Hirschfelden map which is super helpful to practice on, and I use it all the time at level 59.
The .243 Ranger you start with is a good weapon though, which you will use a lot of the time forever.
Just don't go hunting Moose with it
Good for goats, chamois, feral pigs, Sika deer on that map. Might struggle to bring down the Red Deer but it can do it
Mostly you want to try to get a double lung shot if you have a good angle. That will take just about anything down quickly
I think the very first thing you unlock will be the polymer tipped rounds for the .243 and I would switch to those as soon as you unlock them. It will make a huge difference in your hunting success
How do i take a photo of something? Gotta do it for a quest
press P and then you can zoom in and out with mousewheel
Sometimes you have to be at the right perspective/angle for those photo quests, so you just do it until the quest advances/completes
need a bit of clarification on medkit does it restore hp or does it stop it from going down?
One use restores HP to max
you sure cause it aint doing anything for me
but so does sleeping for an hour
did you equip it and pull it out and then press left click?
selected it from quick access like you select weapon used it but nothing it gets consumed does a little animation but no hp restored
then I would restart sounds like a bug. Unless you are at full health already, in which case it wouldn't do anything
or you can just sleep for an hour
sleep didnt restore either lol
hat wer bock zu zocken?
#š¦ļø“find-a-game , also stick to English on this server :)
ohh sry xd
Kein problem ;)
in the end i got elked....
@worldly stirrup just got the polymer tip bullets
nice. They will make a big difference
Well i just unlocked them ill have to buy them
If i find a need zone will the animals show up there guaranteed every day at some point between those times or?
Mostly yes. If you scare them while they are on their way there, they may not. Sometimes I've had animals not show up, but they usually come
How long is 1 minute ingame irl?
1 game hour is 15 rl minutes
It's 4 to 1 basically
anyone knows how often the game autosaves?
Not sure, but it seems the game is prompted to autosave at doing things like changing the settings, changing your inventory, etc.
why im asking there are achievements that ask for all animals photo
but theres no why to tell which ones you are missing
i read somewhere that the game will autosave the first time you photo an animal
but have seen the game autosave on other random times as well
Im in my hunting stand at the need place rn wish me luck
break a leg! Be patient!
Just had a mating call from them nearby so hopefully they come down to the need zone soon
yeah that suggests they are inbound for that need zone
hopefully the wind is favorable, but they will probably come into the need zone even if they smell you, just more warily
so you know about holding your breath?
it happens
I usually will watch the map when that happens to see if hunting pressure appears, which tells you whether the animal died
Very low bleed rate
I watched it run off with 2 others
The other 2 were a black color so i didnt see them since it was dark-ish and lots of trees
open your map do you have purplish circle at the area you shot the animal at?
Nope
Only where i killed other animals earlier
Damn i also missed a kill i got earlier apparently since i only claimed 2 trophies but got 3 purple areas
if you have the dog and you know which purple area you missed
go to the center of it and have the dog look for tracks
What bow is best to start with? Razorback, Bearclaw or Hawks Edge?
If you've never used a bow, you won't be able to get the Hawk Edge for quite a while
I'd honestly go with the Razorback over the Bearclaw for that extra .5 of carrying space saved
Iām new to the game and some one said bows are good for silence but Iām a rifle user.
Classic rifles and bows are much more different than COTW bows and rifles.
Personally I first used the Razorback and still mostly use it, because it is the lightest. it's also 60 lb draw weight for the Hirschfeld quests which require that. I still use it and it works fine on bison even.
Ok ty
just use the shotgun bows
Right now Iām using the .270 huntsman
Actually, don't
They don't exist
Is that a glitch? I saw a harvest picture of someone who got a goose with a bow and birdshot
yeah
Dang thatās kinda funny
it is
Lol
it can be used in a more powerful way, too
#šļø“support if you figure out how to replicate those glitches, please. š
shoot a yt video?
rn i'm not playing cotw
For the three pin compound bow site, what are the distance variations for each pin, if anybody knows?
20 40 60m
tx
For just the 3-pin sight, here's the breakdown
Oh perfect! Saving that
There's also one for the 5-pin and the crossbow scope~
which arrows are good for what class animals?
Blue arrows - 1
Green arrows - 2-6
Red arrows - 7-9
300gr, 420gr, and 600gr, in that order~
Same goes for crossbow bolts, but traditional arrows are a bit more special
350gr is 1-3, 540gr is 4-7, and 700gr is 8-9
bison go poof
What is the best way to hunt pheasants?
run around their territory with binos and a shotgun
listen for calls, look for them, then rush towards them to scare them into taking off
If someone in multiplayer finds an outpost on your map do you get the outpost as well?
no. outposts are tied to the player, not the map
this means you can unlock an outpost on your friend's map and access it on your own. conversely, your friend can unlock an outpost on your map and use it on their own map
Ah I see okay thank you
(this also means you can use a tent to bring a person to an outpost they dont have and they can unlock it. they can also do the same for you)
Hi, has there been any news regarding the halloween event? will it repear? will the achievements be removed? its coming up so just curious.
No news on any of the above
no problem thank you
didnt they add a new achievement for medved relating to halloween?
āNewā?
at least to my knowledge there was no halloween stuff for medved last year
There was two years ago
Can someone help me and explain how to use this? Can't figure it out
What is āthisā? For one?
Press A, click āactivateā (or whatever the translation is)
Then you press RB to cycle through zeroing ranges
Maybe i have the wrong weapon
All weapons can use zeroing
Damn i must be stupid š¤£
Iām guessing you didnāt activate the perk yet. Select the perk, press A, press āactivateā
Oooh ok now i get it
I thought it was activated because it says "active talent"
Thanks a lot
Passive perks/skills are ones that work in the background
Active perks/skills require you to perform an action to use them. You can only have one active perk/skill activated at any given time
Yep now i see it hehe
Was confused active / activated.
Now i need to see how this works
But thanks !!
The concept of zeroing is pretty straightforward. Basically, every projectile, from bullets to arrows to shotgun shot experiences drop due to gravity. What zeroing does is compensate for that drop by adjusting the trajectory of the bullet. The result is that the bullet follows an arcing trajectory. Zeroing allows you to set the range that you want the bullet to hit on the crosshair
So when I shoot it becomes more precise long distance?
its best you go to hirschfelden shooting range to test it out
Forgot about that shooting range!
just play around with target range and zero
Glad i came here to ask
Itās simply another tool in the toolbox, itās up to you to use it effectively.
Play around with it at the shooting range and get a feel for it
Will do šš»
does what I kill with a shotgun affect how fast my score goes up?
As in if I load up with slugs and go for bigger game will my shotgun
score go up faster than if I was shooting rabbits?
shotgun score depends on how ethically and fast you kill the animal.
try and mass kill animals with a shotgun
(hint: geese)
ahhh ok. so animal size doesnt matter.
shooting rabbits with with birdshot
seems pretty fast way to kill
well i got the geese down. but now I have the shotgun wont fire glitch. how do i make it fire?
Aim down sights, press your reload button
yup couso
now I just need to get better at hitting them when they are moving
so far I hit one on the ground then waste 4 shots trying to hit them as they fly off
Anybody know whats the range of the camera in COTW ? I'm doing the "Family Picture" mission and i took a photo of two black bears together on the other side of the river but it didnt count
Can anybody tell me where the best spot for Coyotes in Cheelah is ? And whats the best time
You can find them pretty much everywhere save the higher elevations above treeline
I have found the most reliable areas are the skirt of trees around the lookout, a good 300yds around
And in the woods in NE of zone between the road and water
From cheelah lake north should be good for at least one
I'll try that,thanks
For coyotes and foxes, if you canāt find any, run a little and one will bark at you.
Can any body map out the lakes for great one grind on rancho
Thank you
Nice map but that's not Rancho š
that's a Layton map
Ok
I've seen it posted in here in the last week try searching fo rit
Lucky you can even find more than one bear at a time. Im still stuck on that mission
You donāt have to get two bears in one shot for that, it can be two separate pics
they were both females, and "Family picture" so i guess they were lesbibearian ?
Good to know thanks. Though wish it would have excepted my first photos then. Havent found a bear since i almost got the photos
Yeah itās still no walk in the park. Sneaking within range of a bear aināt easy
get a ATV and drive up to the sucker
Yeah i had two come up behind me after i got the mission. Was literally no more than 30 yds away on the otherside of this group of trees i was in. Took photos of both yet didnt complete the mission
I wanted to solicit othersā experiences with Schrodingerās Turkey Decoys. Here is a link to my experiences with them discussed in other channel: #š¦ļø“general message
What are the best dog traits in CoTw ?
Anyone knows best hunting spots in Vurhonga Savanna
that's a point of debate, imo the tracker ones. So like this
Uhh can you hunt mallards on Xbox (:
you should be able to
walk around layton lakes with a .22lr and shoot
i dont hunt em enough to know a lot
What dlc is the 22 in
weapon pack 1
the pinned messages has all the weapon packs
Ok
you can check whats in what
Trying to find ducks in the Yukon...
Some geezer on reddit is claiming the following: There is an outpost on an island in the SE of the map - Bankside Timberlands..
I cannot for the life of me see where there is an island let alone one that would have an outpost.
Is he chatting drivel?
All outposts on Yukon have roads connected to them iirc
There is a picture of the map on the SS
so hes talking nonsense then?
Most likely
He is not lying to you. Hang on
ok
Ah. Forgot about that one
so with harlequin ducks. do I just: find a need zone, place decoys, climb in a waterfowl blind and wait?
Pretty much
duck callers dont work right?
Nope only decoys
And they are the only duck/teal that actually comes to decoys at the moment
š
That spot is where I got my diamond and albino, so I'd say it was good advice!
So im doing the mission for Connors and i cant tell where the tracks go,to the shack or away from it
nevermind found it
does anybody know where mr black at the balmont lake is ?
Yes I can tell you exactly where he is
And may God have mercy on your soul doing Mr. Black quests
please do
hang on lemme switch to Layton so I can SS map
Just got doc telling me i found his track
Mr. Black is hard to photograph, but he will appear in exactly the same spot every morning
I have him on my map because I'm not doing the quest (I did it before once)
Plopped down a tent near the area, returned tot he main menu, went back and he was standing IN my tent
took a pic
and let him out
nicely done
I felt this
When changing maps, do I bring tents and hunting stands with me automatically or do I have to go pick them up?
You have to pick them up
They stay where you put them until you pick them up, but if you haven't placed them they are in your inventory for all maps
And you can buy more of them
The tents, blinds, etc. stay where they are until you remove them. You can buy more of them tho
are the were coyote and Big bull side mission or main mission animals ?
Main
Thanks
I know the big bull wont troll but what are the chances of the were coyote and mr black making it ?
Do the rabbits come back to the borrows on Hirschfelden
are cuatro or hirsch good maps? never tried either
Hirsch has geese, which are the #1 moneymaker if you have the DLC that gives you the decoys for them
and Cuatro is a fun map. The main story gives you three unique wolves, and there's an achievement for getting a diamond of each of the four ibex types
Cuatro is one of the best I think. I say that even though some wolves there ate me not an hour ago
morning all
Good morning
Are these patch notes?
#š¢ļø“game-news message
Yup
News about the next update
If they do have a max score, no one knows it yet.
I got a 267.5 earlier this year so i wanna know thats all
Both are great and beautiful maps. Hirsch counts as one of the "harder to hunt" maps because of the lower animal density and partly high vegetation density, but it is still amongst my favourites.
Where do you submit suggestions? Iāll leave it here in case this is the right chat. Being from the US I really enjoy the maps here especially silver ridge peaks and now rancho (I know thatās Mexico but similar landscape to south Texas and my personal favorite place to hunt in real life) but Iāve been thinking for a while there should be an ammo option for the muzzleloader that goes to class 9. Before the age of centerfire rifles there were countless Buffalo hunted with black powder weapons and they were very effective so I think adding the ammo option would make the game just that much more realistic
you may need to read #šļø“rules first tho
@pastel nexus be sure to format the suggestion correctly
To add to what Cash said, you can see how to format it in the pinned messages in #882552632793767966
Anyone have tips on what to hunt and what maps to play to try to expedite exp gain and leveling? Really want to get ahold of those high level callers and whatnot
Geese hersch
If you wanna go for high rifles then overall hunting will do you good i would say srp then but high money high exp go goose
Rip guess I'll keep on keepin on then, because that's what I've been doing haha, was wondering if there was a better way but oh well
Well what have you been doing what I just said?
well you could also go for fellows on te awaroah or whitetails on rancho... would be a nice change if you killed all the geese ;D
Been hunting geese like theres no tomorrow
Iād say take a change of atmosphere start calling animals on others maps for other animals for while if you are getting bored with that, change of species or animals will help with that just try and make sure you call before you shoot
Yeah I'm thinkin ill finish the grind to level 30 for better binoculars and then go do other stuff before returning to the grind, thanks for the tips! š
Aye no problem best of luck
kill the entire herd
kill them all then see if they come back as bucks and or kill the zone
Anakin or Kylo it or kill enough to not delete the zone and see the respawns
Yes
some time yes
Even in the top left lake the one with the outposts? But yes they are very much female group spawns but spawns Iāve seen are like 3 or 4 male groupings or all female or all female and one
does anyone know how to increase your chances of getting a diamond
or like a good hunting spot for it
Thereās never one good spot for diamonds since they spawn randomly. Your best bet is to cover as much of the map as possible
i guess just go to a need zone for it on the right time in an open area like a lake or something
hide in the bushes
and wait
for a bunch of animals to come
Your best bet is to hunt drink zones, actually
What's the most overall easy to use and accurate small to mid-game hunting rifle? Any suggestions for a medium to large game hunting rifle of the same criteria? Been using the Ranger for small-mid game and Drilling rifle for large game, but I feel like I should be using other things now
What DLCās do you have?
Cuatro, duck, high tech, parque, saseka, silver ridge, smoking barrels, treestand, spring creek, weps pack 2 & 3, yukon, bloodhound, atv, goose, and tents
Smoking barrels, you say?
yup
Yessir cap'm sir
Any rifle recommendations for lower tier game?
Not necessarily tier 1, got a bow for that
big groups are often female or small males the bigger golds and diamonds role in a small group often 3 or 4
Is the Ranger perk currently working? I haven't noticed a range gauge while using a weapon since picking it up and I'm worried it's bugged somehow
Did anyone do all of the Cuatro Colinas missions? I'm wondering if there is a mission where you have to get a diamond of every species on the map. I thought there was and was told it was in the Chef's arc, but I just finished that and it isn't there
You get two (or three) mission animals on Cuatro, all wolves, first one you get is from a main mission,2nd one you get is from a side mission and third one you get is from a nother main mission
Have you activated the perk in the perk menu? Active perks (the green ones) need to be activated
the third one has a Small, and i mean small chance of making diamond
That has nothing to do with my question š
I was told there was a mission where you need to get a diamond of every species (like there is in Parque) and I'm wondering if that is true, and if so, in which mission arc
I believe that is incorrect
Could be. I only know that you need a diamond of every Ibex species, don't know which arc that is from though
i finished the cuatro missions and then reset my game, the main ones
It's from the old mans arc
Thanks
he gives you the 6.5 Rayo when you complete his arc
Oh my god. No, I haven't š¤¦āāļø thank you LOL
I recommend the zeroing perk over it though, at least once you've unlocked the rangefinder binocs.
I mostly wanted it for bow hunting, but the sight I'm using for mine makes it easy enough to estimate
For bow hunting I would especially recommend the zeroing perk, as the arrows drop very much - you get 20m, 40m and 60m options. Try it out some day
I have the perk already ^^
Nevermind then š
Whats stronger 30-06 or 270. ?
30-06
pic?
let me get my game up real quick
diamond is 337
oh
Nevermind i got out
do dogs scare animals?
yes
they need to be point blank with the doggo
Yeh, they generally don't spook anything, really
Unless the animal directly steps on the dog
when an animal does an mating call hes alone most of the times right
When you kill an animal will it always respawn?
If so is it always the same animal?
I know it can come back as a diff trophy rating but, can it come back as a different gender?
Im asking as I can only find female grizzlys, I need two gold males for a multi trophy.
General consensus is that they respawn as the same gender yes
For the first beatty mission, can you be in any type of hunting structure instead of a Hunting stand, maybe a tripod or tree stand ?
Has to be a hunting stand.
ah
The ground blinds aren't as strict, but the hunting stands are
will it still count if im glitched and under the stand ?
Like physically trapped under it
when i pressed E
so im bassicaly going back and forth
had a cow moose call but she didnt show up
since im level 9 or 10
yeah if you dont have the moose caller youre going to struggle
but...
when you do...
That bug's supposed to be fixed now, isn't it?
But no, if you're trapped under the stand it won't count
whelp
You need to be using it properly
This is the hunting stand you want to be in. use caller in here and they will come
Exactly the spot where i am
Theres LOADS of moose. Pity you cant do missions in multiplayer. otherwise I'd come help and use my caller
i did see a female sleeping and i shot her and she didnt go down
unlucky.
what weapon you using?
Best bet is the caplock with the minie ball
.50 with minie should do some work, but the .30-06 is gonna struggle with moose quite a bit
I use the 7mm regent. I think it comes 'free' on one of the missions.
Cant remember which map though.
it was a reward in one of the story arcs Im sure
Negative cobra commander
whatās the best pheasant spot
Yeah I got the 303 in NZ. Dunno why Im thinking 7mm too
do the scent sprays work well ?
I managed to get a musk deer with it but. you have to be lucky enough
to be upwind when you hear them call
