Full draw basically will increases the steady time when bow is drawn. Pumping iron does increase arrows speed and penetration and makes all the bows basically equally strong in my opinion. increased confidence is not worth it at all since it increases accuracy when shooting from the hip.

As long as you are crouched and hold breath just when you're about to take the shot, it shouldn't matter too much

But it's nice to have extra time with full draw in case animals start wandering around before you manage to take the shot.

My bow build is always max full draw, move 'n shoot, pumping iron and 1 or max recycle.

Sometimes when you have pressure that close together it kills zones. Also, some zones are tied to a single animal. You can see this if you ever kill an animal before “discovering” it’s need zone. When you claim the animal the resting spot sometimes disappears completely.

Hey guys, so I've been focusing on side missions and there are a few that just impossible to do, not so much due to the objective itself but more due to the game not even providing possible conditions to complete them

this has happened to me on the kill a blacktail on the rope bridge at 200m (blacktail never eat in the water like most online posts suggest) and the kill a moose with more than 520kg in High Lake (been doing the river run at moose drink time for over a week but game seems to only spawn females in that area)

it just feel like I can't actively seek to complete this missions, just got wait for the stars to align so I can get them

anyone else feel the same, or am I doing these missions wrong?

@burnt venture some missions give players a hard time spawning the needed animals for completion, some others are just buggy
don't get stuck on them, go to other maps, do other missions or just forget missions for some days, otherwise it'll become frustrating

yeah that's what i've been doing for some missions and it works well

had alot of trouble with the several missions to hunt coyotes around lakes but eventually got them

these two I just keep coming back once in a while and it's just proving to be impossible

you need to get really close to Mr Black to get a picture of him, the alternative is to kill him for a possible diamond black bear

The need zones got reworked after the map was released so some of the missions in layton/hirsch are bugged to the point they require cheesing to do.

I got the blacktail at night when stalking coyotes that was just traveling through it near the bridge

and the moose one just took a bit of time and only focusing on male moose trying not to scare the rest. Once you get the moose caller it's really easy to get them to come to you

If this tactic helps: Once I had to find and wipeout a need zone that was nearby but outside of the mission zone in order to get a qualifying animal to spawn in the mission zone. Took a long time to figure that one out.

@rugged mesa The crossbow I believe has 15-20m increments. The top dot is actually the zeroing dot. So when zeroed for 30m for example, top dot is 30m second dot is 45-50, 3rd is 60-70/75. It really depends on what arrows you’re using with it as the weight of the arrows also affects it. I don’t remember the exact ranges but it’s somewhere in there. You should head to the shooting range to dial that in with each weight of arrow

the common assumption is the number of animals in each map is fixed, when you harvest one, another one of the same species will spawn, supposedly with the same gender, but a random trophy level

if you kill an animal but don't harvest it, it will spawn again when you restart the game

the werecoyote will be sitting in the middle of that area usually, don't walk or run to it but go into crouch 200m away and find a good angle to approach. Might need to go do other stuff around the map for him to reset if you spooked him

the game doesn't always auto-save on exit, sometimes it takes a bit of time for it to happen but it's quite frequent. Also sometimes killing and harvesting an animal who's need zones are just for that animal, will delete that zone

When you get attacked just stay at the center of your tent or blind, if you move to the edges animals will be able to hit you. Once a buffalo attacked me in a tent, I was perfectly safe in the center (where you spawn at) and killed it. The ground blinds on the map the ones you can buy for 1700 act the same way. The hunting stands a super safe as they are high up. I also got attacked by a wild boar on a tripod and it wasn't able to hit me. But hey pigs can't jump. So it's fairly safe to state that you need to keep a few steps away from the animal's melee range either horizontally or vertically. The tripod is like 4m high I haven't tested if lions or wolfs can jump that high.

As for hunting pressure, don't bother too much about it move out when it turns pink on the map or on your in-game phone minimap. When you kill stuff at other locations that hunting pressure will be reduced. So if your favorite hunting spot is too pink hunt elsewhere and it will be ok.

trophy rating depends on the quality of the trophy, usually is antlers size, but in some animals is its weight

gold is high, is the 2nd best trophy rating, behind diamond

note that in order to get the "full trophy" you need to pass the 4 conditions of the harvest check: max of 2 shots; proper ammo; intact trophy; hit a vital organ

playing with the crossbow for the 1st in a year.. and had forgotten how awsome it actualy is, even as a ugly mordern weapon "would love a medival replacement" and gained a good few goose kills, but have only hit about 50-50 out of the targets and most hit were point blank - 10-20m when lining up the bronze pin with them.. but many more missed within 20-50m including a possable Mel goose .. 😞 and a near diamond Fallow which i plan to come after his need zone later.. but can someone please tell me how to accuratly aim this so far untested weapon, "without suggresting scopes, refuse to use them" but if someone would be kind to explain how this erm... bar graph sight?... works, or least link a vid on how, that would be most gratful...

i've shot at wolves from the lodges doorstep at copper-rock yukon to drive them away, and shot my diamond grizzly from over the fence of one at the riverbend bear drinking hour, and scary was it when i went afk inside an african lodge after just logging in.. came back to find male lion footbrints on the porch... 🤫 and have even hunted coyotes and turkeys by laying on a picknick table and calling them in at layton and silverridge.. and finaly 3 days ago was in new zealand digging in my storgae when suddenly a gang of male goats rushed round the hut and jumped me... didn't even get a shot of in def.. the buggers.. 😆

not entirly sure myself, sometimes animals will respawn the next time you log in, others say it is an avarage of 3 real world days before the spawn returns as a random new, what i do know is that each map only has a small number limit of diamond animals, and if you cannot find the one your looking for its because the diamond slots is being hogged by another animal, and hunting them down is needed to free up a new diamond hopefully as the species you want, but its randomly selected, so if the number is exp: 6 on you map and 5 of them are ducks, then hunting them each and a poplation kull is required, like ive been hunting the numbers of yukon wolves to help spawn a gold ginger male i seek for my multi mount... but its sinply spawn pot luck.. only the migratory geese still unsures me, as they fresh spawn with each flight passing.. and i gained both my diamonds a day apart.. after my 1st year before onlly seeing one... so not sure about them.. but ask any other vets i'm sure someone knoes better..

after hearing about players hunting lions with the popup hide. i got thinking of how it could possably help me bow hunt for wolves, as all my other metiods getting close to them have failed, for 2 real days i've moved close to wolf need zones and hot spots, and the FudgeMonkeying wolves stood me up yet again... without me even seeing a single wolf, only at couple of places did i hear them, and once even within range of my caller "as if the knew i was there" the wolf snubbed my bleating and moved on... this is becomeing so frustrating its become a saw subject of my irritation... i can't get close to wolves via stalking unless they confront me... and when hiding high or low in hides and stands all day and night, they never show up... WHAT in Artimuses name must i do to get close to them! ..besides bitterly waiting for a feeder to attarct them as yet realised? 🐺 🏹 😣

petershan, has a good number of foxes, my surrgestion is to set up a hide overlooking an open field, or hiden near a river crossing, if you want to be patient, or go out and stalk in the hills and forest breaks between fields, your bound to fined one.. another good fox hotspot is amongst the windfarm and baby trees... plenty move through there and rest during the day sometimes in pairs..

perhaps near the castle then, the bison are unlikliy to move that close to it, and its thick woodland, so their'll be foxes there..if nessery if trying to avoid incoming bison, set up a high stand in the trees.. so they'll pass between unirritated.. likewise if tree selected well it'll give you a hight advantage for spoting and sight... good for bow hunting when they come with range..

you don't NEED more weapon packs, but one i would highly recommend is the Smoking Barrels weapon pack because it has the M1, which is almost without argument the best medium game and grinding weapon in the game.

i also do recommend getting a trophy lodge cuz it adds a sense of purpose to the game. i recommend the Saseka Safari lodge because it's bigger than spring creak manor and is the same price

@hidden basin ive been using the fawn caller, but its not going to work if the wolve sdon't show and the only one that did snubbed me and ignored it, and i've yet to even see a wolf for a full two real days of camping now.. "breaks inbeteen ofc i do have responsiblityes".. but their not coming into the areas ive caught them before,.. even their rest areas reamined empty... i finlay camed out back at my 1st spot, sitting in my popup hide between x2 wolf rest zones but less than 200m apart... myself within 100m of each... and for the second time i waited but not one was seen or heard... the last staw was when the later ones time was finaly ending "their two times linking back to back" and a heard of roe deer came and sat but meters around me... i nearly broke my bow... each time i try to catch wolves off guard i fail... ether i'm in an enless pursuit and their always ahead of me out of sight.. or they spook before i get them in range of my hide.. despite being perfictly concealed and no stink in their face.. they somehow know i'm there.. let alone come into bow range... that is ofc they need to actualy show up ofc... i just can't find them or am being stood up by them in my carefully planned hides... both the yukon woves and the less skittish red wolves... i'm loosing the plot with this 🥺 ... though the popup blind proved great for goats and ibex...

yeah i was at 1st,, but all you need to know about them is when they get close, ether become obvioes and they'll spook rather than attack unless wounded,, boars being more stubborn and

agressive than the bison, or siimply move into cover and they'll pass

or whistle and off they will run..

most boar attacks on me have been because ive stepped on them sleeping in the udergrowth.. if they have open ground between you they'll bolt long before they attack

if you want to ambush them be quite , if you want them to stay away, be noisly they won't come near

I'm trying to set up Layton so that I can hunt in a duck loops, because you can only shoot 16 before losing that zone. So I shoot 15 there, fast travel to another duck spot and shoot 15 there, and keep going until there's no more pressure at the first one. But how many ducks would I have to shoot from a blind to clear hunting pressure? what I'm trying to ask is how many spots would I need so that there will never be hunting pressure at the next spot, just from the previous ducks I killed

because shooting something from a blind inflicts less pressure. but does that take away less pressure from the map as well?

Geese don't have need zones like other animals, they will land in large open areas such as farm fields and open pastures. You just set up 20 decoy geese for max attraction and use the caller. I prefer a tripod and a tent to travel fast. Goose hunting is a very easy way to make money as they give 800-1200 coins.

Sadly they can only be hunted at the German map Hirschfelden.

If you're new just go with the stuff you already have. I personally like the maps DLC but my favorite is Canada Goose DLC. Tents and tripods are also very nice and the 4x4 quads are also good.
