All dlc maps are in the game files even if you don't own them. They are needed because you can play any map in multiplayer without buying it yourself.

Its kind of needed at night bc if u dont use the light u would have to have the night vision goggles to hunt at night bc you cant see any tracks and barely any animals

Hello all, I’ve tried searching previous posts but could not find an answer,
I have tried to stream COTW using Stream Labs OBS on the Game Capture option, and it is completely unwatchable, the frames are so jumpy and the whole thing is laggy.

My PC is not the issue, it surpasses all of the the the recommendations and I have streamed AAA graphically demanding titles like Godfall on ultra settings with no issues. For trouble shooting I even tried lowering the graphic settings right down and it made no difference.

My internet speed or connection is not the issue.

It appears to be an issue between SLOBS and COTW, does anybody know any work arounds for this at all?

Id get weapon pack 1 , has a 22 rifle great for hunting small game and includes the best bow in game / then id get weapon pack 3 has 3 great rifles ones for medium game ones for big game and ones for small game like coyotes and crap like that something a 22 wont work on

With those 2 packs you will instantly be able to hunt anything in the game

Prob not a external graphics card man perhaps better to use a internal or hard graphics card

Are there any known issues with streaming through slobs? One of my friends with a new PC (Ryzen 3950X, 3080) is having a massive amount of issues with frame drops. The game runs perfectly fine, but drops frames like mad on the actual stream itself

It kinda looks like the stream runs perfectly fine when they're standing still, but the second there's any sort of movement, it gets to an unwatchable level. We already tried that I'm afraid ): tried going down to 2000 and same issues

I've been watching Flinter's beginner series lately and I noticed the guy is literally running around under 200 meters of animals and they never spook. Because later you'll start a hunt for a diamond animal, and one of the requirements for an animal to make diamond is you cant hit the trophy organ on an animal

And the trophy organ for almost all animals is the skull

The others animals that dont have skull as trophy organs are class 1s

Meaning you have to shootnthe animal witht he right class of ammo

The next one is that you cant shoot it more than 2 times

Another one is you must not damage the trophy organ, aka skull.

And the last one is you must hit a vital organ

Like brain, lungs, liver, heart, lower neck.

But getting brain and passing all harvest checks is a reallybhard thing to do

i personally prefer hirschfelden because you can just walk across the fields and you will eventually find something and if you prefer to camp you can set up a tripod and a tent a bit north to a petershain lake on a cornfield i found some foxes there

Same thing drinks time.

There is no one location for that, apart from hotspots for certain animals. Keep shooting them and you'll get those diamonds. I don't think there is any guaranteed one on your map from the start.

Start out with 2 calls, then 1 every 30 seconds your time. Don't call a lot at 1 time. The most at 1 time is 3. The higher the level will get spooked quickly with 2 many continues calls. Get skill increases strength for callers. It helps.

I use polymer in most case scenarios i only ever use soft point when theirs a perfect horizontal broadside for double lung or a perfect front faced shot for heart the soft points expansion makes them bleed out way more then normal and most cases die on the spot even if you have the perfect broadside or front face only use soft point if within 50meters or 100 meters max as the bullet becomes less powerful with longer range and doesnt guarantee the kill

Wander around until you find any roe deer and either follow it or work the tracks backwards - it will lead you to roe deer need zones that you can cycle through.

You get a point every level, from level 2-37, it alternates between skill and perk points, with skill at 2, perk at 3, skill at 4, perk at 5, etc.

Once you hit 37, you get a point every three levels, with the next one being a perk point at 40, skill at 43, etc., to the max level cap of 60, for a grand total of 22 skill points and 22 perk points.

All tripods ,blinds etc make you practically invisible aswell as allow the hunter to be able to kill alot more animals in the area without causing the hunting pressure to rise to much

Normally 3 kills in a area wipes all need zones so all animals that use that area will no longer use it and only travel through it and wont stop to get necessities

You need decoys and the caller to get the geese break their form and start landing. If they fly in V-shape, they can't be killed and thats when you start calling them.

Its just a bug though ive had a blind set up decoys and was calling and had a flock fly over head couldnt spot them and they just kept flying just like when you spawn to start your hunt on hirsh they fly overhead too

I hunt small game mostly but whenever you first spawn in hirsh their is a flock that usually flies overhead and it cant be spotted or shot down however rarely this will occur while hunting them u place ur blind u place ur decoys and call and then a flock will fly in a huge triangle flock and it cant be spotted it can be shot they just keep flying have had it happen less then a handful of times

But i did notice after it occured a flock doesnt fly in for a good while for me so idk if the game registers it as a actual flock or if i was unlucky at time but nothing sucks more then waiting forever for a flock to fly in and it being the bugged one :/

Do you got any really good South Eastern, and Ronda Ibex drink spots? Because I currently need a diamond of both so I can get an all diamond "Grand Slam". I currently have 2 diamond Beceite Ibex and 1 diamond Gredos Ibex. I also need either one more with a decent rack with a rare fur type or a diamond so I can get an all diamond "Head First". Here are the diamond Beceite scores~The first one even though it was a level 4 it scored higher than my level 5 and scored 200 on the dot and the other diamond and this one was a level 5 beceite and it scored 199.85

If you don't know, when you play a multiplayer map that you aren't hosting, you're playing on the map of the person hosting it. To mean that your Hirschfelden contains need zones in different places and animals of different ratings than, say, my Hirschfelden. Where you might have like two diamond red deer on your map, I might only have one.

Every person's Cuatro Colinas is a little different from the last, same with their Yukon or any other map they might be on.

The point is, as long as you are on your map, anything you hunt, even if you fuck up, will still be there later as long as it doesn't die.

It’s good to do pop management the whole way thru. Player level has nothing to do with the herds so keep progressing them as you level up

its great for class 7 and 8, so bears and moose. dont know about class 9 i rarely hunt those. i always carry the 300mag in my loadout (except on awaroa)

the 338 might be better if you plan on hunting class 9 because it has a little more penetration over the 300mag

there are several but i dont know if they have been updated yet. some of the scores have changed with the last update. if you play through steam there are a bunch in the guides section of steam

I'm new to using different rifles for different tiers of animals so I have a question let's say I have a rifle meant for tier 2 to 6 animals and the 2nd rifle for tiers 4 to 8 and I find an animal that's a tier 6 which one do I use.

@brazen citrus both would count for that animal going for a trophy score, so my answer would be the one that's in hand or the one you most comfortable using depending on how far the animal is or behind to much shrub. i personally use the weapon that's 2-7 unless i feel like pulling out the old powder gun / bow. ( sorry don't have the weapons memorized by tier )

Geese don't have need zones. They fly over the map and you need to have decoys and caller to get them down. I've heard people telling that you can sometimes find geese on fields without decoys but that's pretty rare.

Definitely test it and see. Nederland is right though about all rifle rounds. For some reason penetration is better than expansion.

Well, IMO, the .300 magnum is hands down the most versatile gun for level 9. I believe that's a part of the Yukon DLC which is an excellent reserve. I used the .45-70 a lot until the M1 came out a while back, and I don't have much use for it anymore.

that bottom circle to the right is great for bison, mule, turkey, elk, and prong

far left is good for bears, mule, bighorn, elk, and turkey (my frames turn to garbage sometimes over here, i think thats a good thing)

No when the host starts a map all the need zones and animals and more are loaded it doesnt just spawn in more and more to accommodate the size of a lobby

That would be cool kind of tho just make ur map multiplayer have tons more animals pic up all them need zones and then go to single player lol but nah doesnt work like that would be a shame to spawn in a bunch of rares and diamonds just for them to delete bc to many players were in the lobby at the time

i sent a bug report about this a couple of weeks ago. im running at 21:9 though and while I can move the map horizontally it does have a "dead zone" on the right hand side and scales incorrectly for zooming etc. also affects waypoint placement and range finding w.r.t cursor. response was this is a known bug and to play at a lower res. try "grabbing" the map with the mouse as far to the left as possible, you may be able to get it to move, but at that ratio my guess is your "dead zone" is gonna be pretty huge

All zones other players find (or destroy) will remain in your SP map too. So benefit for hosting is to get more zones and respawns since players will mow down your current animals.

Roam around find need zones. When looking at your map you can scroll over the need zone icon and it will give u approx time the animal species is active in the zone. Hunt it during that period of time and you will have some success

Bow aint that good in my opinion, you gotta get really close which is hard enough, and you gotta have decent wind aswell.

Its just preference really if u always get close to the animal i like to normally get 75 to 100m max 150 so i love the bows
