You don't need a setup for that, it's easier to just visit many drinking zones and shoot the biggest ones and come back after visiting the other ones

You'll get one eventually

choose 10-12 zones to be your main zones, stack max levels in those zones. everything else is an exterior zone, shoot all the males until they are a low level. after all exteriors are low levels, shoot the stacked max levels in your main zones and then just grind your mains

As in you’d have to never shoot anything on the map ever EVER

Basically the only point in the game when you’re gonna have a clean map with no pressure is when you start up a fresh new map for the first time

I wouldn’t worry about it too much! Make sure to make use of hunting structures as shooting out of them will reduce pressure placed on the map by shooting massively per kill!

There are some dotted about each map that you’ll pay a small cash fee to build then it’s yours to use forever

When it’s dead , any zones previously active in that dead area will be “blown out” and move elsewhere which isn’t ideal if it was a good spot for a grind

Heyo everyone! Hope you’re all doing well. Thought I’d give the silver ridge black bear great one grind a shot. There’s the four lake method on the northwest side of the map that I started. Pretty sure I found all the zones but as I was pushing along, haha I blew out one of the lakes due to over hunting. Now it’s a no hunt zone. I didn’t take that into consideration because I feel like the old tactics of the four lake method was older versions. Anyone else recently do a grind like this? Now I’m wondering if my next move is to just bounce drinking zones the old fashion tent way.

I just ran into shooting a bunch of black bears in my zones and then the hunting pressure kicked all the game out of them. Using tripods too, but I just have to wait for the zone to chill again. Every once in a while, a small male bear will come in but I swear I have all the zones discovered. Haha grinding is harddddd

How would I go about setting up a gray wolf grind and doing it

The main thing I don’t understand is the low level/high level stuff

1st you find all your zones

[hardy sentinel]

Now this part is called herd managment

You don't need to do herd managment

But to put it in simple terms

You have big animals in your main zones (level 8s and 9s), the game will see this and spawn in smaller animals to balance the population, because of this, lower levels start spawning

These lower levels are to be kept in exterior zones (non main zones)

So basically, keep any high level in main zones, and any low level in exteriors (low levels being 5s and below)

Normally people just stack diamonds, but I found that 8s are also good enough (I usually rotated to stacking 8s and 9 sometimes, and only 9s other times, depending on my respawns during that time)

If you're doing hm

You set up on 16 zones, 8 - 10 main zones and the rest being exteriors

When you spawn a big one in a main, keep it, when you spawn a small one in an exterior, also keep it

Shoot anything else

hmm, i personally like the modern weapons pack because i think its got decent guns for all classes bar 8/9, but i know a lot of people arent fans of the lower calibre ones from the pack. for me personally im a big fan of it and will confidently vouch it is a good all around purchase!!!

as for another map thats kinda all about bias. i really like medved taiga but i can see how it might not be peoples fave. i will say one i want to get but dont have is the vurhonga savannah which i hear is quite good as a beginner map because theres a lot of animals but dont trust me on that as i havent played it!

New Species 2019, TruRACS System, Remi Warren, are Free DLCs that will be included with a reserve or something else, they come along with something else.
Right now you can ern a free cosmetic pack by completing the community challenge.

for example, this is Yukon, I'm hunting bears for a challenge of predators. I placed a feeder near of a feeder point for bears, I've had like 5 bears coming to the feeder

the same logic for your maps. Look for a feed zone, I think that if you place the feeder less than 300 meters from the feed zone, you will atract them to the feeder, so put it in a place you are comfy watching (like, you can see the feeder from 100 meters or so), then sleep until the time zone and check the feeder from the distance, you will find a lot of animals

Also I'm sure more than one veteran is screaming at my monitor about the hunt pressure xdd

If you are a new player, I advise you to play through at least the first two maps and level up your character. You'll learn the game mechanics, and then you'll be able to go after a Great One. You're trying to skip steps, and you're going to find it difficult.

I use the Odin scope on all my rifles; the frame is thin, so it blocks less of my peripheral vision.
The Angler scope has a blue night vision, not green like the other night vision scopes, and the image is very clear. However, the frame is wide.
The Crosshairs setting helps you get the reticle you like, but it costs $4500 of in-game money to change it.

how do you tell when an animal has stopped fleeing after being shot? whenever im chasing something i never know how far it is from me and if its going to flee again or not

depending on need zone you shot it at, and the time relative to zone ending, you could just wait it out.
Imo they run like 200 meters max and turn around iirc.
(so like maybe 5 minutes of your life)

Alternatively - depending on the quality of your shot (big blood splat or small blood splat) it'll die fairly quick. If you hit a vital and theres a big ol puddle of blood, usually a minute irl of following will bring you to the animal.
If small, non vital or missed organ shot it could very well survive. you can jog after those ones for like 100m before you need to slow down and be mindful of your presence and wind direction

it's all a learning curve, check tracks and see how long its been (fresh/just now, little while ago on scat tracks) or the speed of the animals movement (fleeing, travelling etc)

Dogs can't cross suspension bridges. Your dog will usually catch up with you on the other side. If it takes too long, simply deploy your tent, send the dog back to the kennel, and then take it out again to reset its location.
Regular road bridges not a problem.

I think that’s a really solid set of dlcs to be getting on with!! You couuuuld pickup a lodge (pretty important to have somewhere to display your non Layton and Hirsch trophies and maybe the ambusher pack if you really want !

I’d recommend cloud saves

probably desyncing from the server, when that happens check for the ping and if it’s at 0 that means that you’ll probably be getting disconnected and it’s having connection problems, sometimes it pulls thru and doesn’t disconnect, but yeah it’s just a lag basically

you have to go to the trophy manager either in your tent, outpost or in the trophy lodge itself.

only if your map is herd managed does a drop off in dime rate matter, if you aren’t herd managed, dime rate doesn’t matter really because you aren’t actively trying to make it better, so it’s kinda whatever it is it is. if you want it to get better only thing to do is herd management👍🏽

It doesnt need ti be near feedzones

They will crsate their own feedzones wherever you place said feeder

Essentially, place them in areas you would like to hunt. They are feeders so it creates a feed spot wherever you place it. So say there is a valley that's really open that you think you could get a nice shot off, place it there

It's basically a way to manipulate animals into a slightly more advantageous position for you to shoot them

Granted if you place it in one corner of the map I doubt anything much will come around.

Personally for medium-large game i'd say the Malmer 7mm [Its a DLC]

Where are wolves' territory on Askiy? I know their drink zones at 0-3 but where do they hang out in the day? I way prefer to hunt in the light, and I can't find any info on the boundaries of their territory in day

Same as around their drink zones, honestly. If you use a hotspot map for em just search the areas in between the water. They’ll find you.

They won’t be too far

They sort of have home ranges that let them wander a bit around the drink zones, they’ll move to/from different resting/eating zones around the same general area

Make sure you’re claiming em all too. Unclaimed males won’t respawn as great ones

So i need help. I currently grinding white tail hard. But i grind like 17 zones orso. Get around 30 kills every run as herd management but 6 out of those 30 spawns as a level 1. I want to close te circle with fewer zones but i worrie that i get respawn issue like i had with mulies. Any thought on if i need fewer zones to grind on? Or just let it as it is? Get every 20 kills a level 3 to spawn. Last 5 were all big rack.

Just to be clear. I want to get my herd management even better then i already have because this is gonna be my main white tail grind setup that i want to keep for a long time. Also got 2 great ones already out of it
