Along the southern side of the river to the west, the twin fork of the river, the lake to the east and west of Vista De Cantera(lookout point), and the lake to the east of Cresta Ribereña. Those are my biggest hot spots and hold most of my males.

I didn’t have all have my zones for whitetail on Layton and killed big bucks and does and level 1 trivial bucks respawn all though big bucks respawn in other zones. But I recently found all 60 zones and have just been ignoring the ones with small bucks and does in them. Should I wipe these zones and get new ones. Any feedback is appreciated.

honestly you can play it either way

if you want to only focus on a few zones you can just be sure to check the others every now and then to make sure your respawns didnt go to another herd.

personally for my rd gring i have been focusing on the northern lakes on te only and not worrying about the north eastern lakes as they only had small herds with no males in them

Hunting birds in Finland:
For Reventoulli Coast there are several bird categories.

Your typical upland fowl like Capercallie, Ptarmigans, and Grouse can be found in the northern two thirds of the map. (Except Willow Ptarmigan, which likes the climate in the southern one third of the map). I like to snipe these birds with the .22LR, but the Ptarmigans require to be killed in mid-air to pass the harvest check. You can hit birds in air with a rifle, but I think you're expected to use a shotgun with Birdshot ammo on these.
If you want to use the shotgun, and you play on console, I recommend upping your aim sensitivity to 5.

Now, your waterfowl, being Ducks and Geese, tend to be located in or near water. Ducks have specific lakes in the southern half of the map they like. Canada Goose is all over the map. Tundra Bean Geese like it in the north. Grey Geese like it in the south.
The game offers a complex and revamped system for attracting waterfowl with a combination of decoys and callers.

Whoever told you things were saved on "avalanche servers" was making things up, because there are no servers for COTW.

All files are saved locally/on cloud, so if it's gone from both and you don't have a manual backup, it's gone.

I’d say it’s a matter of personal preference and playstyle as always. Personally the .45-70 fits my playstyle a bit better since I rarely shoot over 150m, and I really like lever-action rifles. I do quite like the 7mm too though, but if I had to choose one, then it would probably be the .45-70.

I’ve had some good experiences in Bohndorf, just west/northwest of the Bohndorf Outpost in their feed time which is 4-7 and 7-10. If you want to try their drink-zones, then go to any lake and/or river in the left part of the map at 10-14, then you should probably find a bunch, but I don’t know any lakes/rivers specifically since I haven’t hunted them in their drink-zones.

Don't use backpacks, the increased noise turns you into a mini-ATV, if you want more carry capacity go for the pack mule skill

As for big game rifles, the .300 is def better than the 7mm for bears and moose, if you want to use a weapon like the 7mm go for the .338

Even then having 4 shots vs 1 with the 7mm/.338 is just massive for follow-up shots

even better is bringing 2 .300's 😂

338 is better - long distance (250 meters) than the 300. -- Provided you have the wind coming from the back. The 338 is more side wind sensible than the 300. That is my experience - at least. I’ve never experienced the wind affecting a bullet, if it does, then it is a very negligible amount. In my experience even with the air-rifle pellets I do not have to account for the wind at all, even at a decent distance and crosswind.

I can confirm that wind affects bullets (and very >> arrows).
The most noticeable I have come across are the .22LR, but it has an effect on others as well. The in-air ballistics of this game are very realistic so you generally won't notice the effect with larger calibers such as the .338
In the rifle tree there is a skill to measure wind speed.

The effect of wind for 7mm is usually not noticeable because max render distance is a little bit over 320 meters.
If we had targets at 500 to 600 meters then I'd begin to worry about it.
I will point out that the 7mm has a bullet trajectory that is slightly different (in the up/down direction) from the rest. (the .243 .223 and .270 are very similar to eachother).

I have not tested the .45 air-rifle or the .22H (I dont have the DLC) but those are more likely to have a pronounced wind drift.
