for species that have great ones, when you shoot males, the great one has a very small chance to spawn in as a respawn, there used to be initial spawn great ones on the maps, meaning you could find one without having shot anything but they got exploited and patched out

js watch a video on it, it's very complicated but pretty much when u shoot a male of a potential g1 there is a chance it respawns as a g1, spawning a g1 can take from 1 kill to 100000 kills who knows

most of the time its 100-3000 tho
