They are, especially when they’re on sale. They get super cheap. Steam and PS do great sales for this game. You can get some maps and packs for like $3 each. Great deals

I’d suggest looking and what each map has to offer, terrain and species-wise. Pick some with unique animals ya like, or that look purty. I chose Mississippi and New England as some of my first dlc purchases. Never regretted it.

If you plan on doing any sort of night hunting later on, invest in the night vision binoculars.

from what ive seen the mexican bobcat's status as a subspecies is uncertain to say the least. It is often considered a group of the subspecies western bobcat. I do believe that the bobcat in NEM is the eastern bobcat subspecies so they are still distinct anyways

The animals will stay relocated unless you’re attracting them with decoys/feeders or they’re solos you eventually push back to that area. Once you’ve dead zoned a spot, other animals besides those mentioned won’t relocate back unless you move them back.

Dead zoning a herd at a drink zone pretty much almost ensures they won’t come back to that area again.

I would still not give map recommendations. Like, have you seen the dogpiles that happen around here when SRP is mentioned lol. In my personal opinion, all maps are good and have their place. Some do things better than others, and some don't have that one animal, but they're all quality maps (again, in my opinion). Can't go wrong with Askiy though, I enjoy that one a ton. I also really enjoy New England, but again, personal opinion 🙂
