so close range zeroing is for when you are less than 100m from your target. long range is ideal for the 300m and farther. it helps put the center of your sights exactly where you want to hit at different ranges. now in between the zeroing set points is a bit tricky mainly because of the bullet drop. lets say deer at 250m, your zero is set for 150, aiming high on the lungs would land the bullet near center of the lungs. the best way to see and get a feel for it is at the hirschenfield shooting range.

Buy the rangefinder sights and use a compond bow. Also dog will not be harmed but will growl if animals are aggressive.

Havent tested the trait that allows the dog to fend off aggressive animals but i dont think the dog can be harmed

earlier i messed up and shot a bear in the butt right as it started running. no organs hit, of course not. so me and my bloodhound followed the thing for about 5 hours ingame. eventually the bleeding stops and my bloodhound switches from “tracking blood” to “tracking prey”, so i crouch and start going as slowly as possible. hide in a thicket of trees and bushes because i have no idea where it is. just waiting for my dog to go into critical position. then suddenly the bear rears up directly in front of me, literally like 2m. somehow i didn’t see him before then & he scared the crap out of me. i had about 3 seconds while he was trying to see what i was. by some miracle i had my handgun* in my hand. i managed to shoot him right through the middle of his heart, killing him instantly. get to the harvest screen & my original shot should’ve blown his leg clean off, it was right through the hipbone lol

*the fancy powerful one thats for the games 5th anniversary. i got it when i joined and i literally just started playing like 4 days ago. forgot what its called lol

Some reserves story missions have set spawns - such as Layton , there’s a handful of diamond spawns throughout the storyline || an elk, a bear and a coyote ||

Hirschfelden also has a handful of spawns || a diamond boar and an albino fallow ||

Medved ||has the albino diamond brown bear ||

Cuatro colinas || has special exclusive fur Iberian wolves ||
Te Awaroa ||has an exclusive fur moose ||

Can’t think of any others to be honest that are shootable
There’s sometimes story animals like ghosts or spirits , notably in ||Vurhonga and sundarpartan || but they do not provide actual trophies
