Technically no, other than the fact that you can. There may be a target at a good shooting angle from 200m, but once you get within 75m you're at the bottom of a hill or something and can't see them.

Having the ability to confidently engage a target at any range up to 300m is really convenient for an otherwise limited weapon.

And who's deer (adds a random chance of attracting a species that is not usually attracted by a particular caller) Will that work on a species that doesn't have a caller or atractant scent. Such as sheep/goats?

That's a great question.

As far as I know, callers/scents have a "secondary" species not listed on the caller/scent, that is affected by those skills. For example, the Red Deer caller can attract Roe Deer as it's secondary species.

I have no idea if this could include other species as well, but I believe each caller has a set list of species it could potentially attract if you have those skills, rather than just having a random chance for any caller to attract any species.

Though its not a good argument to get into here - people can get real heated on both sides - the issue with generative AI with things like art and such is that it actually pulls references from images taken and made by real people. It can't create something from nothing. That's a human thing. So it does a lot of sideline thievery and is actively hurting creative artists, writers, etc the more popular it becomes. As a creative person... its a challenge.

I do agree its cool and can be fun to play with. I just wish it was set up in a way that wasn't so damaging to creatives

Modern art as a genre goes back 100 years and like I said, much of it is worthless. but what isn't worthless is the social commentary many of the pieces entail, and that is what people in power often dislike.

Many critiques of modern art are legitimate, but those that seek to deligitmatize modern art often dislike the narratives that actually intentional modern art seeks to convey.

The most famous example is Duchamp's Fountain which is literally a urinal, but has sparked so much debate that it's more influential to what we understand art to be than potentially any other piece out there--not to mention the tremendous political relevance of the piece.

Like I said, art has value as both an aesthetic choice and a social phenomenon, and the banana on the wall and things like it are valuable as talking points regarding the meaning and value behind human creativity.

They're not bugged 😆 They're just capable of hitting further than other shotguns due to faster projectiles/longer range, but at those longer ranges, where other shotguns don't even connect, their power is reduced significantly.

Again the issue isn't the round itself. The .44 can take a scope. The .454 is limited to iron sights. Shoot a gemsbok at 400m with a .454 revolver reliably and I'll change my mind.

the R cuomo is, IMO, in a much more dubious spot because it directly competes with the .357

R. Cuomo has better scope options, flatter trajectory and better zeroes, but is single shot, arguably weaker cartridge

I think .45-70 gets a bad rap because it isn't a penetration-focused round. It instead performs almost equally well at all ranges, where other calibers, like .7mm, have notable falloff at long range compared to their short/mid range performance. A .45-70, can't effectively peentrate large game at any range, so you need to make good shots, but the knockdown it provides on a single organ is comparable to double organ shots from some other calibers. 10/10 for my long range style.

all the OG base game stuff has issues with being anemic (except for the 7mm) because animals have been buffed and also things were balanced against each other instead of against the animals theyre used on

its why we have dumb things like a .45-70 that has issues with red deer

and a .30-30 that is ethical on foxes

.454 behaves like .500 bushwhacker, which is fine, both are big bore pistol cartridges. .44 magnum behaves like .500 S&W, both big bore pistol cartridges. I don't really have an issue with either of those cartridges for that reason

I think a lot of this is due to typical engagement ranges. A lot of the calibers people think are redundant or useless are actually better than meta choices at specific ranges or with specific rounds.

Granted there is a lot of overlap and some liberties were taken for the sake of balance, but the devs really did offer a ton of options for really specific gameplay choices.

Alas, most fall into the penetration trap, and judge everything by that metric alone.

Not as impressive as .300 or .338, compared to the .375's penetration ammo, but it will absolutely demolish a cape buffalo at any range regardless, if you make a good broadside shot.

I prefer the .375 for penetration and the .300/.338 for soft points, but mostly because they're more ballistically reliable at render range. The .375 still possesses great power at 300-400m, but it's bullet drop is noticeable.

All 3 calibers can comfortably make these lung/liver shots at long range. With expansion rounds, hitting double vitals like this is as deadly as a double lung, liver, stomach and intestines shot with pen rounds of the same caliber.

Even capes drop in 3 seconds flat.
