I feel like for some creatures it makes sense to have regional variants. Like, siberian wolves are tan/blonde, as I said, and so it’s pretty much wrong for them to be primarily gray in color. The current wolves are pretty much “good enough” for the North American continent

It's phenomenal. The Expansion rounds drop the larger animals like 3x faster than the Pen rounds though, so players who refuse to use Hollow-Points tend to think it's not viable for anything but class 2 or 3s, and only within 100m.

With practice you can take class 4s at 300m, and it's as silent as a bow.

It's not a knockdown weapon but a genocide weapon. I use it to mass kill. Since it's silent, herds don't spook after a single shot so I can take my time and pick every animal I want off one by one. The Hollow-Point rounds have an expansion rating of 70 so even though it isn't a powerhouse, they still don't get to run more than 100m.

Hello guys good morning. Have a quick question, and please direct me elsewhere. I’m brand new, having trouble with deer. Want to get into the waterfowl to level up and grind for some money. Will be purchasing duck and cover and goose. Is this a horrible idea to grind out these birds with the starter gear?

Yeah. The rifle I’m using on these deer don’t even hurt the deer. Maybe I’m not shooting correctly. Trying to go for lung shots. Aiming a little high to account for the bullet to get low. Having issues finding them when I’m loud and walking around. Just a miserable experience that I’ll call a skill issue

Watching people play on YouTube looks like a lot of fun and makes me excited for it. I just know the gear I’ve got now is real low and not having many skill points hurts too for QoL.

im glad youre putting it diwn to a skill issue because politely its just the harsh learning curve really, youll get used to it for sure! the game can be kinda slow starting out honestly.

my advice would be buy polymer tips for pretty much anything atm, the ranger will shoot 2-6 so dont go shooting anything over that unless you want a long long run! honestly the ranger is a solid gun imo i use it sometimes for 2/3/4.

also dont aim too high, right now youre zeroed at 150m im pretty sure which. chances are youre not shooting from far enough away for their to be any drop at all so dont even bother trying to account atm trust me

I've got more dime waterfowl than any other category of animal and my go-to strat is to simply genocide every single individual in a flock from 150-200m with the .22lr.

I've got dime greylag, tundra bean and Canada goose from genocide, as well as numerous duck species. Trying to selectively hunt them is a waste of time because they seem to respawn much faster when you wipe their entire flock.

And they don't split if you take the females.
