You can't always know right away, but at least one giveaway is if there is a massive amount of high level animals, great ones or rares. Other one is speedhacking, sometimes you see people on the map move super fast across the map

With some very careful positioning with feeders you could possible capture every boar in the population via feeders

Try to find drink zones in water sources below the hills, you can set feeders near the drink zones and set your hunting structure up on a hill. If you can confidently take 400m shots you can even take out multiple without spooking the herds if you're slow about it and don't use a class 9 capable rifle

Correct, that's the standard setup and will allow you to travel without spooking as well. If you're shooting from that range you can also disregard the noise of the rifle and just use a .7mm

Depending on the rifle, yes, you'll set some as Alert instead of Alarmed, and if you wait for them to calm down they'll be shootable again. If you have two herds 50m or so apart, you should be able to alternate shooting one from each and wipe them out quite efficiently. It's been a while since I've done that though, so I'm not confident on which rifles have the proper sound profile.

I believe buckshot's technical effective range is 50m, bit you will not be getting organ shots even at severely close range.

In short, it seems to be designed as a trauma round for culling rather than an ethical trophy round.

I've shot wildebeest at 20m with 10ga buckshot and one of them survived. Not a reliable round.

Im doing my retriever to point as his secondary when I do bird hunting

Wild Boar, Red Deer, Mink, Badgers, Feral Goat, Red Grouse, Red Fox, Highland Hare, Fallow Deer and more can all be found just mingling together on the same hillside or at the same watering hole. The landscape is perfect for both ambush and stalker hunting, and it's also one of the few maps where the Pointer can genuinely shine, since you're not constantly fighting the landscape to see what your dog is pointing at. It's a gem of a map and if not for Salzwiesen Park, it would be the single best small game map without exception, for the species that inhabit it.

I've got a bloodhound with a secondary in Pointer that is very reliable, but Pointer with a Secondary in Bloodhound is what I'm currently raising, for easy quick-commands to point and flush. I don't need the tracking command on demand so it's slightly tedious with my current dog. The secondary skills are very good, as well, but they don't benefit from the dog's levels, as a Bloodhound gets Tracker specific level perks while a Pointer gets Point specific perks, and so on. Still, even at base the skills are great.

I see little use for the retriever with my playstyle though, sadly. Never bothered with it.

Retriever is a pretty mid skill tbh. If you're primarily bird hunting then you won't be going far to collect your catches, only real use for it would be if you're shooting over an area with really tall grass that might obscure them.

The DLC is how they keep the game alive and fresh, and much of it can change the way you play the game entirely. If you see it on sale and it interests you, it's likely worth the money if you can afford it.

for the whitetail grind, you wanna shoot the males in your zones, the max level they reach is 3-Very Easy (aside from 10-Fabled a the great one of course!) , our best bet with getting nice respawns is to shoot the bucks with the biggest antlers first
