Yeah, there's both world and character saves.

If you go in main menu and select your world, you should be able to "manage saves" and pick an earlier one, depending on how long it's been

I'm having an issue where trying to place a Charcoal Kiln on top of stone flooring doesn't place the bottom of the kiln on the stone floor but instead on the ground beneath it.

Regarding Deep North, I have a slightly more "technical question": Will it be possible to continue or "move forward" using a current server for Deep North? I mean, will my current server receive the new patch and that's all good, or will I have to create a new server like a fresh start?

You should be able to continue with your existing world on the server. It's really just going to be a question of whether any of the areas have been explored. Those won't receive the new content. If your players have been good about avoiding the north, you should be fine.

Characters and worlds are not tied together.

If you switch from auto placement to snap on different corners of the pieces, often you can string bricks or beams together to reach places that otherwise would be out of reach.
If you start raising terrain at a shoreline often you can slowly build out to wherever you want to go.
If you're trying to deepen water, pickaxe while swimming isn't doable but you might be able to use the hoe to flatten terrain a little deeper if you're clever.
There are some advanced tricks to break the system and move around underwater if you really want to take the time.
Have fun! Ports are super cool and fun to build imho.

if you can use devcommands you can use freefly

Enable the option to use devcommands in the settings menu, then use LT+LB+pause to open the command window then use the command devcommands, and you can scroll through available options, but the one you're looking for is freefly, it will allow you to take control of the camera itself

Just note, you can't move your character in this mode

try to make sure you're not hitting your own boat and make the arrows count.

If you can swing your boat around so that it's sailing at max speed with wind it'll buy you time to shoot it dead.

Swamp takes some time, yes. Both due to the physical nature of the biome itself, and due to the amount of iron you're going to need.

Rather than landing in every swamp I see and looking around for crypts, I tend to sail along coastlines and watch for the green torches. If I don't see any, I sail on and ignore that bit of swamp.

Depending how big you are going to build, you can't build too high with just wood. There will be another wood type that has better structural support than just wood.

okay...i think i screwed myself over. what happened:
i sailed 2 times to another continent where next boss is.

1. got killed first time.
2. built another ship, died another time after getting my gear back.
3. didn't want to build a 3rd ship and restored a backup save from like 10mins ago.
4. spawned naked, built the 2nd ship again, sailed to point of death but no corpse around :(
   any suggestions how to get the corpse save back ? or is it lost forever now?

There's a lot of tutorials on how to extend roofs past the edge of a building to make it have overhangs, how to build circular roofs, how to put in dormer windows etc.

Yes, your character is separate from the world save. Can you reload the more recent save?

perhaps. i never dallied with the backup saves before. when i restore a backup, does the live save get swapped with the backup? the drop-down menu has 4 cloud saves for me.

And next time, instead of loading a backup save file just do devcommands, give yourself god mode and flight and go back to your corpse that way.

Oh, yeah. That'll be easy. Just spawn in the materials.

It'll be easy enough to look up the item codes online. You just need to spawn in some bronze and bear skins/paws etc.

But tbh, most of the time when you start going down that road, you'll likely find the game less interesting to play.

I rarely see folks last more than a few days after they start using commands to spawn in items.

I have a friend I play Valheim with, and he lasted 300+ days in a no-map hard+ game until he got so frustrated in the mistlands that he broke and brought over ashlands gear from our previous run.

He lasted like 2 RL days after that before giving up.

that wouldn't be an issue for me i believe. i was just pissed off that i died 2 times after spending a friggin 30mins to sail around my continent in order to find the sea-path to the intended continent. that's 1 hour wasted, so i went to mess with backup saves.

That same game I died in the Mistlands island hopping while I was already lost and lost everything including a fully upgraded silver sword I was planning on using all the way into Ashlands. Spent three RL days looking for my corpse but never found it. I ended up finishing the game, he didn't.

I did eventually find my death spot after killing Fader when I turned on the map to see how accurate my drawn maps were compared to the actual map though.

i'm so blind sometimes. just realized that the game has different backup files for both the world and the actual character. so restoring a pre-death version was the simple solution.

Now you got that solved. Remember this all ways bring portal supplies with you. Soon as you make land fall in a spot put it down and secure it. That will save you that issues ever again. Good luck on your adventures.

i did in fact bring those, but made 2 mistakes...landfall at night (lol) and didnt build portal before engaging enemies. they did swarm me though and the panic did set in. a very valuable lesson that session. plus i played totally sloppy, the enemis werent even that hard :P

Can somebody help me kill bone mass. Already spawned. I did not prepare the terrain. I did not clear the drauger spawners nearby. I thought I would craft a stag breaker and just kill it from a tree and it would've worked after a long time if it weren't for the archers spawning in. I didn't look up video how to kill it beforehand.

As it stands, I gotta just grind full iron and then go back and smack it with an iron mace. But i was wondering if anyone here likes killing bone mass for fun idk

If you kill bonemass before you're ready to move into the mountains, you will trigger wolf/drake raids. If it's not next to anything important, might not be a bad idea to leave it alone until you're ready to kill it.

Especially since wolf raids will come at you even if you're not near your base.

I have experimented multiple times and yeah he is consistently hitting for that much damage

I think it's a 2 star charred warrior that just doesn't show the stars and the looks since he has more hp as well

me and my friend are playing valheim, this is me and his first time in the ashlands, i beat the game back in 2021, this is his first playthrough, but the mistlands and ashlands are new to me and him. we are preparing for fader, and we're extremely nervous. we had extreme difficulty with the queen and considering what we heard, we feel as if this is gonna be worse. can anyone provide us tips like armor, weapons, food (as warriors with staff of protection), etc

Use Root Harnesk

Most of his attacks deal pierce damage suprisingly

Some say Fader feels easier than Queen in sense, but he has double the HP and some attacks might be much more lethal if you're careless. Expect lots of running and jumping, so meads like Lightfoot and Ratatosk might be very useful. Resistance meads can also be helpful.
Any Ashlands tier armors and weapons (other than those dealing pierce) are good to go. Gem effects from weapons can provide extra usefulness and new staves are effective if you go mage route.

Don't run too much. He does a lot of area of denial attacks. You just need to stay a little ahead of it and it won't touch you. Stamina management is important for that fight.

Also he has this one lethal attack where he raises spikes from the ground

other than that tho with root harnesk + barley wine his other attacks don't deal a lot of damage

He just has a lot of hp so it takes like 7-8 minutes to kill it

Could be more depending on the build you are running

Took me 30 minutes last time cause I tried doing it with mountain gear and my fiancee and friend kept dying. Ended up being a major slog once rest bonus ran out.

But that fight never feels like it's going to just kill you, Yagluth and Queen has a lot more close moments.

You can literally jsut rest in the corner and heal while you figth her

Also because it's in a dungeon there ain't any risk of other mobs interfering

The thing with Queen is it's a slog cause she digs underground too often but definitely not hard

and 2/4 attacks are pierce so root harnesk once again coming in clutch

same with the queen her strongest two attacks dealing 140 and 150 damage both do pierce damage

Root Harnesk the goat just being usefull against both the final bosses

You can walk away from this, not run. The spikes follow you at the same speed, so if you run, you just waste your stamina for nothing
