Just depends how good you are. Ive used flesh rippers in mistlands on vhard and they shredded, maul claws will be more than fine

However since maul claws (iirc) are mainly pierce damage, they may struggle a little against bosses and most Ashlands enemies. Might be worth to downgrade to flesh rippers for the slash damage, but I could see that overall being fairly low damage and pretty tough in Queen/Fader fight or entirety of Ashlands

They're basically an option that lasts 50 minutes, offers a good balance of high stanima an pretty high health, and you craft it once and can eat it ten times before you must make it again

you don't have to make them, but the Plains one and mistlands one is very good

Yeah pretty much what Henneth said.
The purpose is to have a cool visually looking food item you can place down, which you also can eat of 10 times to have food for when you might want it to last a really long time, but don't need the best stats. Like mining, exploring or building. for example 🙂

Yo guys I need help, i might rage quit valheim if i don't get my stuff back, I had alot of loot all silver and landed at a plains biome to repair my boat. I PLACED 1 REPAIR BENCH AND A WHOLE WOLF RAID STARTED, i started sending off the wolfs and then mosquitoes attacked and i died. I went back again after 20 mins of sailing waited for the mosquitoes to go away and somehow a goblin killed me from behind before i could equip my armor, and now new mosquitoes spawned there again and aren't leaving 💀💀💀. I might need to start a new world atp cause i died too many times trying to retrieve those times

Most bows can easily take down mosquitos, I wouldn't give up just yet, Valheim can be brutal-- but for those reasons you will feel good for overcoming some of the harder challenges presented to you!

I've been through moments like this, I was unaware I had 5 enemies behind me that all hit me with a ranged attack at one time, and it took me at least 10 attempts to get my things back within the No Skill Loss time window. The trick is to make your recovery effort fit within the 10 minutes when you can, so skills aren't lost over and over.

if you still have some old gear or supplies to make it, use root harnesk, health food, and either bow, atgeir or spear. Root harnesk gives pierce resistance, severely reducing squito damage. And they're very fragile, basically any weapon can one-shot them

I like to climb up high to see if I can see anything from above, then go to the Mistlands floor... lots of vertical climbing. I use the lightfoot potion. Also on the map, the blackest areas are free from mist and are just scenic. Look for lights in the mist... they are either actual lights, structures or the much-needed mushrooms.

plains is good for farms but you have to make sure to clear all of the boulders underground as they can prevent your crops from growing. if you don't clear the boulders in the ground properly, you will get a message that the planted item doesn't have enough room to grow. I like to clear the boulders then build up the ground a couple of feet to be sure. Like mentioned above, there are some mistlands mushrooms that can only grow in the mistlands... as far as the ashlands, there is only one crop but it can be grown in any biome.

Ember staff and protection staff are great at the start, frost staff is also useful. Using protection bubble constantly and keeping your movement increases your survivability.
You can jump and cast with staves and keep your momentum.

Meads can help, like minor eitr and Ratatosk.

From what I remember with the staff of protection, you get XP when the bubble on you is destroyed. When playing with a group some time ago, I (who never used magic once in the entire run) ended up with a few levels in blood magic from our mage putting bubbles on people.

Looks like you’re stuck behind a root or branch. Sometimes you can climb on it enough to gain stamina back, or try punching it to break it if you have stam potions. Last resort, try logging out and back in.

Some people like the looks of it, but many see it not worth the investment.

Helmet is only piece that doesn't add movement speed penalty, so highest armor value without movement speed penalty would be granted by bronze helmet, patterns of bear and bear loincloth.

I’ve heard that parrying is just better but everytime I used a tower sheild I got guard broke and loss 50% myhp

You kind of have to if you want to fight her melee. You can parry her with tier 3 carapace shield on normal if I recall. I recommend parry, its just harder

from our fight before decreasing difficulty, you can parry her swings and bite on normal, but that slam is a no go.. dont even try it

I really need to read up on how the game actually works, but im pretty sure you still can, if you have the health to do so and you have parried not blocked

The only reason I say you can parry is because I know i have on normal, i just dont know why I was able to or you werent able to, because obviously you tried

im pretty sure i've used a blackmetal tower shield vs queen and could just hold block, i did an all tower shield all the time run once. were you using 3 health foods?

Nah u probably did it right but just check next time. Im saying I think health and stamina factor into your parry ability, but im not sure

it also might have to do with me not haveing the root harnesk for the pierce resist. though idk if that makes a difference to parrying and block meter at all

Using the root harnesk also sounds like a good idea. These are the things I wish I knew. Is it good for this fight? Does it stack with the forsaken

eh. but the stamina regen isn't that much better with higher stamina and i like parrying things, so. i've never been like "dam if only i had more stamina"

considering the theme... they should totally give us a heavy tower shield that has spikes on it to basically inflicts thorns

I do on permadeath runs on hard/vhard

Stamina is kinda optional, it regenerates super fast as long as you're rested (which you always are) and parries/walking is free, giving you some room to breathe

idk i just swing when i need or can, parry when i need to recover stamina, its not hard

Still I do prefer 2.5 hp foods most the time, but sometimes that's not available

i think i overall prefer dodging over parrying once you get the skill high. high dodge level makes you rolls insanely fast. just need the stamina to keep it up

i do really wish we could bind rolling to a single button instead of having to block, press a direction, and press jump all at once

im like 20 days in and have 10 dodge and i dont even dodge that much

Dodge level doesn't make you roll faster, but dodging is pretty cool yeah

I do prefer parrying when I can though since it's faster and doubles my damage
