so uhhh i have a ancient cpu...but i want to farm animals cuz im absolutely tired of hunting. ik putting it in my base is a horrible option for this case...so uhh build it somewhere else. but where do u usually build urs. active zones are the issue for me. i thought about making a pen near a greydwarf spawner. i initially thought about surtlings cuz i visit those more but theres wraiths at night coming over the walls so..uhh no.

I usually build my boar pen in my first (meadows) base. I'll put my vegetable garden around it and then the walls. I don't bother with wolves, but if I did, I'd build a pen for them inside an empty silver mine. I usually build my primary plains base around a lox pen. I'll find a nice area and tame lox right there because they're a pain to move.

Make a big pen wherever you want, then feed them and push the babies to another area, far enough that the group limit isn't an issue.

my Lox pen is about 15m x 30m. I keep my breeding pair in one corner and shove all the babies to the opposite corner and contain them with roundpole fences.

the babies are far enough away that the breeders keep going. When I have enough, I break all the fences and let them mingle. to grow.

Usually 12 cloudberries will net me about 12-14 babies for slaughter in ~3 days ingame?

If you're on the coast, you can go fishing while waiting for the pregnant one to deliver.

It's exhausting cuz you're breeding them round the clock, but it works.

Most of the time its a nuisance but honestly I would keep it on especially in a server with friends, if the base gets attack everyone just drops what they are doing and defend the base

I am desperately trying to fix the flickering when I play this game

It still happens when playing on d3d12. but only when I play in fullscreen

it doesn't happen when I turn fullscreen off but the problem is i play on an OLED and can't have the window border up top or it will burn in

it seems that the game always tries to trigger exclusive fullscreen if you use the fullscreen toggle even if you have Windowed-game Optimizations enabled in Windows 11 and fullscreen optimizations left enable in the exe properties

I think the solution is to use steam launch options to make it run in real Borderless Fullscreen but I can't seem to figure out what to input because what I found online doesn't work it still flickers in fullscreen mode

I've gotten that message before when my workbench, although covered with a roof and surrounded on 3 sides by walls, is up on a hill or mound. Try moving it, even if it is a few meters or raising the ground around the area using the hoe.

Hello there. We are once again having a connection porblem with my husband.

I'm the server's host and we are playing with one of our friend too. Our friend can connect without any problems, via steam invitation. With my husband we have been trying literally anything.
Restarting pc, updating windows, the game, the router, installing game again, toggling off vpn, the firewall, crossplay and what not. Still husband wont connect to the server. What's the hecking problem?😭

I have a bridge system I have built on the roots and this one spot I have put 2 wisp torches now and they both proofed. I can build on the spot but apparently it can't stay? I've built on roots, but Seekers, G'jalls and Lox (if close to the Plains) will destroy your sapsuckers, workbench, structures in one swoop and then after some time it all de-spawns since nothing is left. I usually try to hide or protect the workbench so that doesn't happen.

I don't have any of those issues this is an old world. These roots are way above the water. Nothing can get there. I did find 3 yggdr branches in the water so I made it 3 times apparently. The bench near by did prevent despawn but not my sap extractors last time. So something is up in these 2 spots?

Max HP is the limiting factor in how much you can block.
Which is why the rest if the sheet calculates how much max hp you need.

You're in the right place. Not sure why folks tried to take you to Dedicated Server. How has your husband tried connecting? Loopback IP address, LAN IP address, external IP address, domain name, Crossplay join/invite code, Steam invitation? And is he on the same LAN as you? And how was he connecting when it was working fine?

Checking his Player.log after one of the failed attempts may yield some interesting information. If trying to connect via LAN IP address, note that will only work with Crossplay disabled.

Mind you, toggling off VPN is very often not enough (e.g. NordVPN). Background processes have to be stopped to disable VPN properly. I recommed disabling it in by going to start - type and open device manager - network adapers - right click and disable all those VPN related - then restart the PC.

The boats themselves dont despawn it could be a multi-player thing where the server thinks the boat is somewhere else other than that the mats have to either be somewhere or in too deep water for you to find. Id either wait till someone more knowledgeable responds or what id do is ask a friend to follow the same boat path to the swamp i took in case the boat is randomly in a location i was before

my guess is because the devs thought a little encouragement to get into a boat more often was necessary. you can turn metal transport on in world modifiers if you hate sailing and exploring and merchants and serpent meat.

Look for stone entrances surrounded by skeletons 🙂
And i would recommend at least flint weapons and leather (deer hide) armour

Like Asatru said, there are dungeon entrances in black forest which are guarded by some skeletons.
Good way to locate them too is letting Hugin (the raven) appearing on top of the entrance but not talking to him, so he will always appear on top of them.

Currently Yagluth vegvisirs can only be found in Stonehenges, unlike all previous vegvisirs having chance to be found either on surface or inside the dungeons.

Some vegvisirs in villages could be one solution.

It will be hard but you have to go slow to spot them. The swamp is a low level light enviroment. With the plant being green and a low mustard yellow flower it blends in well. I usually find them near bushes and tree stumps or fallen trees. Good luck

hard to say not knowing what your specific issue is. she does resist pierce so that cuts mauler damage a lot, definitely not ideal vs her. if you’re having trouble with the ads as i imagine you would with fists bring as many bile bombs as you can. maybe a trinket that gives health like iron brooch if you’re having trouble staying healthy.

Armor choice depends mostly on what you find more comfortable. If you want more armor then make some heavy armor. Compared to heavy, light armor sets have unique set bonuses for different gameplay and they also don't slow down at all or as much as heavy armor pieces, but in exchange has less armor.
Or mix up heavy helmet with otherwise light armor, for little more armor and no movement speed penalty, since helmets don't slow down anyway.

Just as a side note since they are at that stage, swamps "light" armour set is a bit unique since it still does slow you down, just not as much as the normal "heavy" armour sets 🙂

Buried builds might be completely inaccessible if they're 8m below the new natural height, and anything floating will be destroyed. We don't know how extreme the terrain changes will be, or if it will even change much at all.

Yes, you can use all those potions together.

imo very hard is boring AF because your only option is poke and dodge roll, you cant block, you can’t parry, you can’t stagger. bow, dodge roll, or cheese are the options. normal difficulty is actually very well balanced to utilize all the game’s mechanics, especially the later biomes that get exponentially harder.

alright, we decided to lower it to just hard since we dont want it to be too easy compared to before (also we had a 1.5x resource rate to compensate since some players didn't like alot of mining)

maybe with the exception of earlier biomes, but for example the wolf raid where you have to either parry or stagger them as they come in swarm… that is not designed for very hard. you cheese or you die.

we have also got kind of classes at the moment which is also fun, makes combat coop based in a way

totally. its not a race, fiddle with your base and run around killing stuff, you are a viking warrior your love for combat is playing the game properly

me and another are tanks (full iron and a mace/sword and shield/towershield) one is a stealthy archer and one is a berserker with the bear armour and battle axe (although that weapon doesnt seem that good tbh)

i love that lol. yeah battleaxe on very hard… the thing about battleaxe is it has +50% stagger on its attacks, so its good because you can stagger things you cant normally and just stagger and crit everything. but on very hard… things have too much hp so all it is is a slow weapon with good aoe

haha bear amor on very hard too… yeah. the game is not balanced around very hard or even hard

i agree. id say tell your battleaxe friend use iron brooch. you can heal and gain extra armor, as long as you’re slaughtering you heal like a lifesteal berserker build

Bear Armor is better on VH than on normal imo.
Because you are supposed to dodge everything, meaning the 1 drawback is moot. So it's just a straight damage buff armor.

its still plenty good with heavy armor, i play as a slow moving calculating tank who can lifesteal faster than you can kill it

tho actually if its a big group then mobs have even more hp and its harder to stagger… yeah idk. thats tough

i am so far liking the banded shield and sword, its basic but i like the brawler gameplay.

sword is objectively just the best weapon imo. there are lots of things with lots of weapons you can kinda glitch the attack animations. odin frowns on it but..

I agree though Hard is a lot of fun, fun that gets tough in Ashlands if you’re not cheesing
