Performance is fairly consistent imo, what is happening in regards to performance drop?

I'm feeling like it might be network related rather than graphical, admittedly.

We're getting a lot of desyncing and delay between things like attacks landing and parries, etc.
SO enemies juttering around to be in new places, etc

Ah yes, that'll mostly be handled by the netcode and related to the connection quality.

Some degree of it might be the simple fact that we're playing with some folks in disparate corners of the world, but it's definitely been getting notably worse

There's a lot of physics interactions, and enemies that can cause many of those interactions to happen with fallen objects/broken rocks/etc.in the later biomes, this might be causing some additional connection sync delays.

My advice would be to keep the terrain clean, fight away from destructables, and refrain from dropping things around the world.

Can terraforming lead to issues? One thing that we've done more and more is definitely reshaping the world.

Like if the game is having to track the new Y/Z levels and such?

It has been known to effect performance, it has been massively optimized, but surely still has some effect.

Preformance or network lag? When in Ashlands, be sure to pickup item drops. Items there don't despawn when close to ruins, and will affect network lag. You don't have to worry about terraforming.

Allowing some time to pass can often resolve it as well.

It seems to be server lag related.

it could also be that they're not within range of a workbench, unlikely but the screenshot doesn't contradict that.
if the other 4 were closer to that workbench in the back, it'd explain why those ones went down without issue

the passive poisoning is pretty infrequent, you can sometimes dip within range without being poisoned

After a lot of farming, you start to get the rhythm for it. Starting out, though, I'd recommend going into walk mode by hitting C, then simply walking backwards down the row, clicking to plant every second, 1 1/2 seconds or so

IIRC they require at least 1m distance from each other, which can be measured with 1m wood wall/pole piece. But with experience you'll learn to measure it without them, walking by pressing C helps planting them quite efficiently.

You need to step bit further and sail to other islands. Swamp can be located by looking for terrain that's partially on water level and has those big dead looking trees in there.

Iron mace actually, they don't resist blunt but are immune to frost damage.

but even with a x2 weakness to pickaxe damage, that doesn't make up for how terrible pickaxes are as a weapon

slow attack speed, no combo finisher with a higher damage multiplier, 2-handed so no shield, multi-target penalty coupled with a hitbox that goes below your character so you're always dealing reduced damage unless you attack mid-air or from on top of the golem
and standing on top of a golem is only safe if it's a spike golem, club-armed ones can hit you up there

so yea, pickaxes against golems work, it's a fun gimmick, but not the fastest or safest strat

It's very effective: Trolls are weak against pierce and the secondary attack can stagger them easily.

Usually you don't need to sail too far, just looking around the range you've found the first hint of swamp.

And it's good idea to make portal at your base and take portal materials with you for the boat trip.

Some weapons can be better choices for certain enemies due to different damage types. Any weapon can work tho, you can try out and find weapons that fancy you.

most likely difficulty and mountains terrain. ive never really liked the biome as its difficult to traverse and you get easily thrown into your death. that along with trying to get silver whilst getting bullied by mountains enemies.

also ive never really been a fan of freezing mechanics that hinder movement and drakes do exactly that, luckily only for a few seconds though.

I was playing with my friend and he was in a burial chamber. Then he disconnected and rejoined with him suddenly being super high up in the air. He fell all the way down to the bottom of the world then died. I went back with him to retrieve his stuff but to see it not on the ground, we also went in the burial and found nothing, I even went in free cam and couldn't find his grave on top of the burial chamber.

The raised walls will help with shamans, paired with the moat (for distance)

Moat keeps the melee hitters from entering your base/destroying walls but shamans and spear fulings can damage the base. But that can be avoided by running outside of the base, since mobs spawning during raid are only trying to target you but will target other things if they can't reach you.

It might be too close to the upgrade on top of you it seems. Try dismantling that and putting them in reverse order.

There are some limitations how close each upgrade can be to each other even I'm not fully aware of all the limitations.

But consider this: you can put some upgrades under floor so they are out of sight but close enough so they add level for its crafting bench.

Theres not a determined creative mode, but you can configure your world to have free building, passive enemies, and use console commands like devcommands and then debugmode , then hitting the B button to be able to place everything

good morning everyone. its been a very difficult learning path on this game. I've read a plethora of starting helpers, where to build your first house... etc etc. I cant see to find water anywhere unless I go through the black forest. anyone else have a recommendation? I've die in just about every area due to being swarmed and sneaking around to not get attacked seems crazy. had a black bear chased me from the black forest all the way to the upper left corner before it left me alone

black forest can't generate closer than something around 500 meters to the world's center, so that one may be sandwiched between that threshold and the mountain, resulting in a tiny biome

there is an advantage to that, you might be able to 1 on 1 a bear or troll instead of fighting in a busy black forest, learn their moves etc

I just wanted to weigh in... I am so sorry for your frustration. I have found that the bears hate fire, so I always keep enough stone and wood and a hammer on me to quickly build a fire to keep bears at bay. Also, keeping stamina up so you can jump on the big rocks is helpful as well. Then use fire arrows to get the greydwarfs that surround you.

spawncamping shouldn't be too common though since enemies always return to wander around the vague spot where they first spawned when they're calm

so unless you fight an enemy right where it spawned, they shouldn't sit right on top of your grave

anything you place can only be deconstructed with the hammer if you're within the build radius of the crafting station that was required to place it
but weapons can break anything at any time (both methods drop all of the materials)

Troll attacks can damage trees

even birch and oak trees which otherwise need at least a bronze axe

dodge rolling trolls, some trolls have logs they are really good at breaking them, if your armour is so weak you don't survive one hit though its a bit dangerous too

Crafting something on workbench requires roof above it, but being on workbench range allows you build with hammer.

there is also an arrow on minimap with wind direction, if you facing against the wind you can only do speed one, just paddle, better than waiting

if against wind and you use speed 2 or 3, so sail up partially or full, you will not move at all

raft is also generally the slowest boat and I wouldn't use it too often unless its a relatively short distance or you have to get there and don't have other boats unlocked, or if you are out of options

No, though you'll need thistle as well. There are small non-glowing white flowers that will give you carrot seeds

Once you get enough copper & tin gathered up, you can eventually craft a cultivator for farming which will give better foods

Kiln holds 25 at a time. You will always need more, iti seems.

I just made a new char with skills at 0, then spawned root set for the archery buff and bow with arrows to try and level up. I got normal +1 level after first hit and another level after 2 more hits 🙂

There's two separate functions to get the level with and without status effect buffs. That function for no buffs is what's used in raising a skill level.
