it's just a stone pit, one of the abandoned buildings you can encounter around, not of much use as i don't think any treasure chest can be found on bottom (never found one myself)

quite recognizable as is immerged in thick grey/purplish fog, seeing it and turning away it's usually safe enough to avoid unwanted encounters

yea mistlands are basically entirely surrounded by the fog so its no problem detecting them, also when the fog is not loading you should see jagged terrain, like a lot of high spikes

yep not a great idea if you're not prepared for the biome, better to just avoid it until then, and even at that point you'll have means to see around better, but not so much on boats, getting to the coast fast and build a small portal outpost is best

archipelago = many small islands
its probably good idea to find some mistlands attached to plains, so you can return to safety a lot easier than on boat/other biome
probably 20m or so from the start of the mist is enough

Download speccy it's free and I've used it for years it tells you the specs of the pc and running Temps. Since it's a laptop have you ever cleaned the fans ever? It dosent take much to since there so small and thin. While off put a toothpick in to prevent them from spinning and blow them out. A soft paint brush works good for the surface stuff. Also a air cooler for a laptop that sealed helps force cool air in helps a whole lot in added cooling usually $50 to $100. Some ideas for ya to try if interested.

Yeah that's fine but if you think those numbers are wrong, then checking with another program to see if the temps are the same or not is a good idea. There are many free programs to tell you temps. I just know that this one did off hand.

not really, many consider it a "tutorial boss", not much far from truth, only if you go there naked and on an empty stomach you could have trouble, if you want zero worries maxing available equipment, eating deer boar and honey and packing some fire or flint arrows will make it a walk in the park

If you're new to the game it's best to avoid mods. They can break things unrelated to their content and you won't even realise. For example, someone here was able to collect iron early (It's usually from the third biome) by breaking torches in burial chambers that are supposed to drop nothing, and had no idea they were skipping progression.

If you have bronze, then you have probably unlocked bronze armour. If you haven't, then there is undoubtedly some resource you are lacking. Kill animals and enemies, and pick up at least one of anything that you can possibly pick up, both in the meadows and in the black forest. More armour unlocks as you move through each biome/boss. Generally a light set and a heavy set per biome.

A cultivator? You turn the earth over first, then hit the right mouse button while the cultivator is equipped, and it'll show the menu for all the items you can plant. You'll unlock more as you pick up more types of seeds. You don't have to cultivate the land before planting trees, BTW.

You can replant grass too, using that same menu

It took me ages to work out how to use the cultivator. I never thought to hit the right mouse button 🤣

well - you try and you decide if its suitable? ping is subjective. Valheim is generally a client side authorittive game, so its going to be a little more forgiving than other games...

I suspect 150ms is probably going to be ok... but its just an educated guess...

Stone golems are one of the enemies I dislike most because they don't allow much variety in how you kill them. They resist or are completely immune to most damage, and their attack hitboxes are so big that rolling is the only reliable way to dodge them

Kiln would be the first needed. You can burn wood into coal. Then when you have enough coal you can demolish the kiln, gather mats and build a smelter to smelt metals you've mined.

Additionally, you can try find more surtling cores to get both kiln and smelter.

To add to the above:

To smelt 10 ores you will need 20 charcoal.
The kiln is able to create 25 charcoal maximum. Meaning after 4 "runs" of crafting charcoal, you got a 5th smelting option available.
My advise is to put a chest near the kiln, craft the maximum amount of charcoal and store that in the chest until it's full.
After that you can pick up the coal you need and keep the excess in the chest until you need it.

Keep in mind that when you are waiting for something, time can feel very long, even if it isn't.
It's better to move away from that spawner and simply return every once in a while to see if the surtlings have spawned and if so, if they got killed too.
Makes it a lot easier to collect the items and above all, less frustrating.

There are 3 creatures doing poison damage, one of them can be found in the crypts, but you can deal with all three of them using a bow.

He has 3 different attacks:

1. when he raises his left hand and has that "raaah" type of voice, following up with couple meteors,
2. when you're closer he raises his right hand with laugh like voice, slamming his hand on ground, creating AoE fire that sets you on fire, and
3. he shoots laser beam out from his mouth when you're bit further from him.

Each attack are counterable:

1. meteors can be ran from, taking cover or blocking with shield, minimizing damage,
2. the impact of his slam can be blocked or dodged so you take less damage from the fire AoE, and
3. the laser beam can be avoided by moving sideways, running or walking.

Between those, try land attacks from time to time, secondary attacks are effective dealing more damage with less used stamina (compared to primary 3 hit combo).

The slowing down will only get worse when you progress further in the game and pick other tower shields. And if you combine it with heavy armor, things will even be worse.

Personally I'd go for the wooden shield and the iron buckler / shield later.
But that's me.

Eventually you will find your own play-style and if that's using tower shields, so be it.

I’d recommend doing the Smouldering Tomb to get the farming clothes if you like to farm. It’s also the easiest to do and has the easiest raid.

Kinda have to say, it's worth if you see it that way. Battleaxes can take some time to learn first, but when you do it becomes trusty weapon type. It has no multi target penalty and has higher stagger multiplier for primary hits, possibly locking even bigger targets like Abomination or ||Fuling Berserker|| on constant stagger.

The only downsides are -20% movement speed penalty and the low amount of them in game.

id say no honeslty. the progression is just to make it easier per say. u Can find silver before bonemass as example by either being lucky, stagbreaker or very tedious looking

I do think its fine for some things no one will do unintentionally (chair clipping, stagbreaker prospecting)

if it takes time you can train your bow skill using a finewood bow and wood arrows on greydwarfs (killing them in their spawner)

Like if you for example want the walls to be stone at the bottom you could destroy one wooden wall and add a stone and then keep repeating that while making sure it doesnt collapse
