Nope. But in general progression you do, you are often not sailing far or finding Leviathans before you find the Elder. Sea Serpent meat is another thing that kind of breaks the progression like that, too.

Cool. In my world I went into the Mountains to get some onion seeds and obsidian before fighting Bonemass 😛 ||Even have some lox meat and hides since it's cheaper than a wolf cape.|| All kinds of fun skip level stuff you can do at times.

I don't mind hunting them, but I prefer lighter weight of trousers and harnesk is only root armor piece I prefer using.

Starting a dedicated server from regular world save. I tried setting the bat file to the same name, but it seems to create a new, and different world, with the same name. It creates a backup of the single player one of the same name. Do the world options have to match in the startup for the dedicated one?

World modifiers are not the mods I meant. With mods I mean things you install on your game to add content other people made.

Passive enemies shouldn't affect to that but you could test it by disabling that option and trying to offer again. If it works then that option might affect. Did you have same problem with other bosses?

Hello everyone I just got Valheim yesterday and I haven't played it because I'm waiting for friends. I want to ask tho, can Valheim be enjoyed if we're only three players learning the game and making progress together, like crafting and building? Will I miss some essential experience if none of us three do battle or PvP and basically no antagonist. Would it still be the proper way to play?

So, yesterday my friend and I found one of Hildir's chests. While it was in her pocket, her game crashed and when she logged back in, the chest wasn't in her inventory. I was going to spawn it in with the console, but there are three chests listed - and I don't want to spawn one the two we haven't found yet. Does anyone know which one is which in the console? It looks like they're just numbered

Hey so after I managed to recover my character's stuff yesterday through a backup, my in-game clock has stopped. The days still pass, but there's no day/night cycle and the clock has been stuck at noon. I tried the ControlTime mod to try and fix it but it didn't seem to work.

You can but main strength with atgeir is that you dont have to parry to stagger your enemies 🙂 you can use the secondary attack

Full release is 1.0, and yes. That's the whole point of Early Access, that we get access to the game now before it's fully finished. Once all content is in (right now the only thing left that we know of on the roadmap is Deep North), then it will be full release and out of early access. But it's been in EA for like... 3 years? Something like that.

Which means it can be Frostner or Porcupine for those loving maces, the Black Metal Sword for swordwielders, the spear or atgeir for those loving pole arms and the Draugr Fang for those loving bows.

Bronze armor or troll armor to start explore the swamp?

I finish black forrest now with the troll, is lighter, smoother, silence and has good defence... but I heard a lot of people saying the bronze is best to initiate the swamp, even with the endless rain

That depends. Full bronze armor has only total 6 armor more on same quality, plus additionally -5% movement speed penalty per piece (except helmet so total -10%). Troll armor has no movement speed penalty which is why some people prefer it in swamps.

Depending also how much copper and tin one has mined and how many trolls encountered, sometimes mixing armor pieces is good option too. Bronze helmet plus troll chest and trousers still has no movement speed penalty but have additional 2 to total armor.

Yeah I saw that option, I just think if it worth to lose the bonus stealth with the full troll... anyway, besides that, I found the bog witch, Can I say its the best or one of the bests places to do the first base in the swamp? near the witch.. it seems too obvious right?

I have rarely bothered with the sneak bonus. I usually have deer cape instead of troll cape.

That also depends, I usually set my swamp outpost in one with many crypts, but always good to leave at least portal near the Bog witch.

But I usually priotitize upgrading my troll armor instead of crafting the troll cape, only if I have surplus of troll leather I may craft the cape too.

That armor should be enough if you are careful. You could use Bonemass power to reduce the damage further. Making a terrain pillar can help for her projectile attack.

Root Harnesks pierce resistance doesn't do anything against her since she doesn't deal pierce damage, but like Blob stated that should be enough if you're careful. Other option could be wolf or fenris chest, depending on your preference.

Literally every setting is on the factory and every part is same as it was

Spawn protection works the same in all biomes.

If you don't want to do spawn protection you can always dig a pit deep enough to entrap the golem. Once you get him in the hole (harpoon is pretty easy to use in this instance) the golems will stop spawning in that spawning location. He'll just live there forever, swinging away at the walls and never doing anything.

Just be sure not to dig the hole too far from his original location. I'm not quite sure what happens if you do that but I suspect a new one would spawn after some time. Someone else would have to verify that though.

It's rather difficult to duplicate a world, the names are fairly integral and are what identify them. Treating the files like that is really mostly for backups, not copying.

Berserkr mead is far from useless, it's quite OP when used right. Any resistance modifier nullifies the weakness modifier so by using Bonemass you basically nullify all the weaknesses and instead resist all those physical damage types.
Ratatosk Tonic is really good too, I rarely go anywhere without it lol.

They have a different secondary attacks but otherwise the animation and thus swing speed is the same. Blunt and slash dmg are both very good all rounders with not many things being resistant to them, tho blunt might have slightly more enemies weak to it. I personally prefer swords tho.

find a small swamp, and set up a base near the edge of it, then spend some time learning if your shield can parry. Then learn to parry or dodge the first attacks of dverger draugr and how to kill them. Know when to run from things yu are always staggered by (1 and 2 stars). Manage your rested and stamina (becasue being wet adversely effects performance). Avoid night time outside. Use a mace. Make poison resist, or a root helmet, or both. Acquire iron whenever possible. Keep in mind that wishbones also locate buried iron OUTSIDE the crypts.
Basically hit and run until you become The Danger.

Game performance depends mostly on packet loss, routing, and the speed of light, not your bandwidth. Valheim uses very little bandwidth, so packets being lost and the fundamental amount of time (transit time at speed of light plus switching/retransmission time between network endpoints) taken for the server and chunkmaster client to agree on anything happening in-game... are what makes it seem laggy or not.
When you have multiple players with large and/or very different pings continuously passing chunkmaster status between each other as they cross into adjacent zones to fight in a group your lag may be fairly disruptive, and get people killed due to their inability to time blocks/attacks. People do slowly acclimatize, but some people have never played anyhting with a ping >50ms, so for them it can be too much.

So a serrver located exaclty in the middle of you and your friends might be best for all. But Just try hosting locally and see how it goes.

I personally don't craft bronze armor because I find more uses for bronze in tools and weapons, but helmet could be good in case you don't have too many troll hides yet.

Why do people say to dig under copper? In my experience, copper is always so abundant that its quicker to just hop from deposit to deposit than spend 2/3 of your time digging dirt

You'll need to visit far fewer deposits if you dig them all out.

it's definitely quicker if you know what to look for and have a sufficient amount of deposits in your closest black forest/s (which is very likely to be the case)
excavating copper is imo only worth it if your intention is actually to fully mine that specific deposit and if you have a good feel for the fragments' hitboxes

Use any https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Player_base item you like and check the radius with a workbench.
The things that need fuel don't need to be burning to spawn proof.
So either put torches or campfires at different spots.
Build little shacks or houses that contain one or a few of the items.
You can also bury an item as long as it is in some way connected to something above ground or a small part peeps out of the ground.
For example dig a hole put a workbench in it, connect a beam trough the workbench to a sitting log / part of a house / wall / tree or anything else and you should be good to go.

So if you are worried about aesthetics chose something that looks like it could be there, if you don't care, just put workbenches or whatever in overlapping patters.

A little garden shack that contains your tools for farming and under the floor of that shack is a workbench.

I've got a 7800XT and a 5900X I play with and it doesn't stutter. That said, reading through that post a bit I think people might be interpreting chunk generation and loading lags as stutter. Valheim does not generate the whole world when you initially start a game, many calculations are finalized when you get in range. That can sometimes cause a minor slow down, and will be irrespective of the hardware you are running on. It's a consequence of it being a procedureally generated world instead of pre-generated like most games.

Does it happen in areas you have already explored, or when you are going into undiscovered parts of the map?

That little bit about right in the middle of the video? Yeah, notice how you are running into an unexplored area of the map? It's almost certainly because the game is doing some background world generation and it slows down a little bit. Make sure you have XMP/EXPO enabled to give it as much performance as you can, but other than that it's just how the game works.

Not really. It's a consequence of the world not actually existing until you get close enough. Most games have the world pre-generated and just load it. Valheim semi-randomly generates the contents of the world, but it doesn't do it all up front. That'd be multiple gigabytes and a huge waste of time for areas you might never explore. So it does it "just in time", when a player gets close enough it figures out the exact details of an area. That time figuring it out is what you're experiencing as lag, where other games would just load the already existing info in.

Unity has various warts, but that isn't one of them 😉

Yeah, unfortunately it's kind of a "nature of the beast" issue. Pretty much any game with random generation will run into things like that, Minecraft, No Man's Sky, almost anything. Maybe not as much of a stutter in the main loop but then you get pop-in issues. It's all a tradeoff based on resources that the developers have to make, not to mention the vast variation of machines that it can run on.

The other option is pre-generation, and then you get tens or hundreds of gigabytes of game data, huge patches, etc., where the Valheim game download and most data files are relatively small and more easily managed.

You don’t need the spear since you have a bow and an atgeir, the torch isn’t needed but is the best way to deal with necks (don’t kill them )

You can keep the spear and leave the bow and arrows at home, too 😉 It's all in how you decide to go. The big thing is that spears/atgeirs/bows all do piercing damage, the dagger does split piercing and slash damage, the axe and sword both do slash damage, and the mace and club do blunt damage. Mix and match those as you see fit, but it's generally good to carry at least one of each damage type with so you can handle any enemy you come across.

I will leave the sword at home and carry the axe often because it's both a weapon and a tool, but a sword is better as an actual weapon because hitting multiple enemies at the same time doesn't reduce the damage like happens to other weapons.

Which ones you like to use the most? One weapon type of each damage type should be enough for every situation. Ranged option is also good to have.

It's fine to try out different weapon types to find the ones you like, but when you go venturing leave surplus weapons to your base and you have backup weapons in case you die and have to run to your corpse.

Best weapons against Yagluth are the Silver Sword, Frostner and Blackmetal Sword. Most everything else falls off behind that. So with the sword like you say you're good to go. Just bring some Barleywine and some healing/stamina pots.

That. You can get away without them, and it can be easier to prop up a lean-to with a workbench to repair the antler pickaxes, but it will take a lot longer to mine materials overall.

Ignore the red (I know they need to be moved abit) but here are the two angles I get by rotating with mwheel.

Swamp brings out a few new things you need to learn, much more dangerous at night, you need to be careful where you step, there is some quite dangerous enemies, the main difficulty in BF is the amount of Greydwarves not how strong 1 greydwarf is. The poison in the swamp is significantly stronger than the Greydwarf Shaman poison as well.

You will need to change the world settings, usually required a server restart to take effect etc. so will be longer than a second, if you do that you have to be the host / Admin and you could also try "passive enemies" to make it easy or get friends to help get gear back.

Find a meadows or black forest nearby, and make a portal or bed. From there, try to run through with stamina food, dodging everything, maybe with Eikthyr power if you’re being careful not to let it end early (by dying)

I kinda figured that, but since you need to have at least 2m of it being free of any objects, a scaffold may work to get the entire thing floating in the air at a height over 2m.

After that, removing the scaffold and workbenches, getting on top and hitting it at the right spot may help scattering it.

However, I never tried it, so I can't tell / guarantee it works.

Probably crypts cause depending on rng they're usually more abundant than frost caves and easier to travel to as well. And usually better/more loot than burial chambers.

The mountain dragon, Moder? Wolf armor is the "regular" armor, but the Fenris set makes you speedy. It's personal preference, but one of those two is your best bet at that level.

Bows and hit and run tactics with a fast weapon like daggers --> fenris

Bosses are balanced around having quality 1 of current tier equipment.

Personal preference. You move slower in the wolf armor but have more defense. The Fenris armor allows you to avoid more shots, but it has less total armor. You could also mix a match like Joel is saying, use the Drake Helm and Fenris chest and legs for max speed and armor combined.
