You can normally, even by using hammer, they will only atack you if you dmg stuff in ward radius, since that is gone you are safe as long as you dont attack them 🙂

i'm guessing hildir was interacted with several times across multiple updates.
some updates incidentally shuffle pois in unexplored areas, but the markers you have on your map don't actively track their respective pois, so they just stay where they are, and interacting with the vegvisir (or in this case hildir) again will just mark the new locations as well, while keeping the old ones that now lead to nothing.
so if i'm correct, some of these will actually lead to dungeons, the rest will lead to nothing.

if you wanna verify them, you can delete all of them manually and then check hildir again, she should only mark the ones that currently exist

That is old map gen. New creates ocean gaps between the Southern (Ashlands) and Northern (Deep North) biomes so they are not connected by land with other biomes. Plus Ashlands has significally less land mass in new map gen.

Huh, looked up that again and seems like that is even older gen before Mistlands. In world before Mistlands patch the world gen created smaller areas of Mistlands biome in world, which changed after Mistlands was added, creating larger areas in world as world gen was updated.
So you are looking at pre-Mistlands world.

Possible. Blocking regular attacks is quite easy tho, you just hold your shield up and take hits, but blocking regularly against starred mobs can be dangerous tho. Parrying with buckler is more effective against bigger hits.

And like Asatru stated, flametal can be mined from the pointy looking spires in lava. Some can be close to the walkable land but going in middle of lava requires some assistance.

Some pots can drop iron, but it's small chance.

You can put normal portal with no tag, create ||the new portal|| in your base with no tag (they connect), take iron with you ||into the Ashlands through the new portal||, break ||the portal|| in your base and take mats in Ashlands through other portal.

You can also take mats for shield generator through that if you haven't.

If not, smelt a few iron scrap into bars, pick those up and it may unlock that particular piece.
Also, be aware meads are crafted in another kettil as well, so you may have to unlock that one by picking up copper or bronze bars too.

Somebody know how exactly Stone golems spawn works? i have a very big platform in a mountain +140m but golems only spawn in 40% of that, always in the same spawn points, i dont have any construction in the other side of the mountain, big questions are, Stone golems start spawning at +120m parts? what happen if i lift a -120m space into a +120m space? golems will start spawning? or if that space was -120m at the start of the world that space will never have spawns even if i lift it +120m?
i also have a question with the areas charged by the character, only the 64x64 area where i stand is processing the spawns? or areas around me are also? also, stone golems have limit of 1 per "zone" or "area" in the wiki, is talking about the 40-80 around the player? or per 64x64 designated area around the player? if i stay in the intersection of 4 areas, would be posible to spawn 4 golems? 1 per 64x64 zone if the are charged? or the game will take that 40-80 around the player and say cant spawn more golems there is already 1 in that area?

Are you picking up the hair from the pedestals only, or are you also destroying the tapestries you occasionally see in some rooms. (usually with a wolf statue and some pedestals)

I've had runs where I found over 15 fenris hair in one frost cave.
So 3 seems to be quite low, imho.

3 Fenris hair basically means you find one room with 4 pedestals of which three have the hair and one have a claw.
That's a very tiny Frost Cave.

Sounds like it, although it still feels like hard to believe to me.
If you're able to return to that cave, make sure you destroyed all ice walls, found the spots where you can go down - they look like big pits with a "rock like" staircase along the wall and explore further.
I've never encountered a single room frost cave so far in all my time of playing this game.

Also note that multiple hits from fire damage source stacks the damage.

Yeah I'm aware that it stacks. I'm using bad armor, but fire damage is unafected by armor? Atleast that's what google says.
For me, with the fire potion, if I stay in the puddle, the damage stacks up to 9 hp/tick, while on youtube its only up to 5

Anywhere in your world, one is found in meadows, other in black forest and last in swamps.

To be more precise: meadows trader can be found between 3000-5100 meters from the center, bf trader beginning from 1500 meters to the edge of the world and swamps trader between 3000-6000 meters from the center.
Each trader has 10 possible spawn points in world within those areas I mentioned and once you get near one spawn points render area the trader will appear and stay there, disabling trader's other spawn points.

On which platforms are you playing? If you are both on Steam, the host of the world should try disabling crossplay option that is next to start server button. Connect via Steam invites and via friends tab in the game, as opposted to server list in favorites/recent tab.

VPN often cause problems with crossplay, and sometimes even steam servers. Try disabling crossplay first, then if it doesn't work, disable VPN as well (ensure that VPN service isn't running in background by checking task manager).

If you are both on Steam it's best that you don't use crossplay anyway. If you will ever need to use crossplay (required to play with console, MS store or Apple Store players), then you will need it, and you will need to disable your VPN properly.

After you deleted those registry settings, did you notice your Valheim attempting to launch in windows mode or fullscreen mode?

You should not have the same error if you wiped registry settings correctly, as then Valheim launches on different resolution.

Don't launch Valheim app via some shortcut, but exclusively though Steam library.

There are definetely QoL mods etc that some people use. But you wont know until you try. Its a great game "as is" - and pure vanilla has less issues due to no mod issues - so start there and enjoy the journey

Re teleportation problems, are you talking about portals or movement glitches? Are you running any mods?

For random ping spikes, make sure none of your players nor the server are using Wi-fi. If you have some IT networking savvy and all of your players are on the Steam version of the game, you could consider dropping Crossplay from the server and instead using direct connectivity.

nop, because sneaking is fundamentally broken imo.

if an enemy monster slightly gets a hint of your presence, even if they dont see you they'll lock onto you even through loss of sight

and that makes it impossible for you to get to their back unnoticed....

Best is subjective really, but I enjoy Klossen (), Primal and Thundering axes the most.

As swords, I like Root Slayer the most.

I prefer 2h swords over 1h.

I always find that 2h swords are too slow and dont do as much dps as just a regular sword and a shield

Against single targets 2h swords deal more damage but because they have multitarget penalty they suffer a bit against groups, while 1h swords without MTP are better against groups.

Nidhögg is also good especially in Iolite version (well, any weapon in Iolite version is good).

Nidhögg staggers better than Mistwalker since it has higher amount of physical damage, and overall higher damage plus gem versions available.
Mistwalker slows enemies due to frost damage and does bit extra damage to undead due to spirit damage.

If you are able to do that, you can jump in the pit and start hitting Yag's "butt" with Frostner or a Silver sword.
He will then try to circle around to hit you, so move in the same direction as he is and keep hitting his "butt".

Because he can't see you, he can't attack you and you get an "easy" kill.

Tryna do crossplay with my friend on Xbox. We have been playing on a server my friend hosts from his PC and we connect to it via invite code. After this most recent update my Xbox friend isnt able to see any servers at all and when he boots up the game it makes him plug in his wireless controller even tho its already connected. He isnt able to do the server favorite thing cause no servers are popping up at all. Hes reinstalled the game, reset the console, and reset his wifi. Any one have a fix?

Community servers need some time to populate. Sometimes 2-5min depending on the connection speed.
However it's really werid if they can't see their other servers in recent or favorite tab.

If that is really true that recent and favorite lists are empty even after adding a new server, and I would encourage you to double-check.

They can do the following to attempt to fix it (won't affect saves):

Open Xbox menu, select Valheim, press start button, and choose to quit Valhiem from the Xbox menu. Then press the menu button while selecting Valheim in your Xbox home → goto manage game and add-ons → saves data → delete both reserved spaces. After that do the power cycle of the console (turn off, unplug power cable for 30sec, turn back on).

It is at least against smaller mobs, but you have to be careful with larger enemies like when you enter mountains and meet golems with banded shield (you might want to have buckler but not so sure about it) or lox with silver shield when going to plains.

Thanks for asking, it's been on pause for some time because I somehow got unmotivated to continue that further. I'm still at facing Yagluth next but did carefully venture in Mistlands a bit and got enough black cores for the black forge.
However, I started and ended a "bow only challenge" without deaths recently. And I started a new world again few days ago, this time going "2h weapons only* challenge".

*only sledges, battleaxes, atgeirs and 2h swords and spear as only ranged option, plus restricting armor pieces that reduce movement speed.

By my testings Crystal battleaxe has been quite good even in Ashlands due to extra spirit damage, it's so good against groups of enemies.

2h swords then are very good at dealing single target damage.

So probably going to end up with all those weapons in different situations.

And to add, I'm not going to use dual wielded weapons so no Skoll and Hati, Fenris claws and Berserkir axes either.

Best food, best armor, kite her up the stairs and jump down when you reach the top.
Having an arbalest or bow to take a shot here and there when she is far away or attack the adds.
Using AoE attacks is also viable.
Have meads with your that are helpful.

You can try with magic, I found that that makes the fight a lot easier or go for ranged with daggers as backup.

Locations are regenerated with some updates but the markers are not changed. Use a vegvisir again.

Much quicker than water, in the parts that are only slightly glowing it may take a second or two before you burn to death but in the bright areas (middle of the big lakes for example) you will die almost instantly

Asksvin can run over lava and you can create the flamemetal armor that will slow down the burning a tad.
You can also throw basalt bombs to make patches that are safe for a while.

the berserkir axes also act as wood cutting axes for ashlands, making them themost effective wood cutters in the game so far?

You won't die instantly but the fire damage ticks are massive. I died trying to get some loot that dropped in the lava, I ate 3 mistlands hp food and almost died again after stepping in lava for about 1 or 2 seconds

you can put them as passive in world mods, but that will make them passive to everything (unless u attack), guess u dont want that

There can only b x amount of chickens and eggs in x amount of space.

Hi all, does anyone know a Permadeath mod that actually is permadeath (meaning your character deletes when died - preferably map too). All the modsa I can find that are supposedly 'permadeath' are not, your character just resets in the same world.

I want a truly one shot experience.

the dungeons have two possible exteriors: a ruined dvergr tower; and a stairway into a rock formation, the rock formation always has tree spikes on top

so maybe look for spikes that are close together and you might find one

Berserkir axes become more effective when you make gem version of them, especially Iolite.
My personal favorite is Jade version of them, however.

Hmm I recently been testing Mistwalker in Ashland’s after maining berserker axes since basically my arrival there and I find it’s great against Valkyrie and asksvin in particular for the slow down you can just keep circling them and they never attack but the lightning axes still reign supreme against charred and morgen
