my buddy and i just headed to the ashlands for the first time

well....a bonemaw + mordred attacked us as we were landing, sunk our boat, which held like 200+ metal bars for setting up a base. and on land we got mobbed by an additional mordred and a ridiculous amount of skeletons, and we both died

so now, all our best gear is down there, along with all the supplies for a second base, and we dont even have the materials to make a second drakkar

So for Ashlands, is it possible to find more than 1 Bloodstone or Jade in a Fortress? Given the amount of Bloodstone, Jade, and Iolite needed to craft and try different items, it seems VERY difficult to get enough to try out all the variations...?

Ahh nevermind; I found a Fortress Chest with 2 Bloodstone and 2 Jade. So it seems RNG. The first Fortress I sieged, I found 1 jade. The 2nd had nothing (for crafting). The 3rd had the 2x2.

Yeah, that's a buff rather than a resistance so I'd say yeah too.

Incidentally, the set effect on fenrir, is fire and frost resistance. The movement speed buffs are per item.

As I said small upgrade. Nothing ground breaking. Depends on playstyle but mining copper is slow and you upgrade past it so fast when you hit a swamp crypt for all that mining time.

Spear is most OP in early game all way through mistlands really untli you get the mistwalker sword. Throw attack will stagger most enemies once you have a level 2 or 3 spear. I don't even craft a bow until I go to moder just for the drakes because if you miss a spear thrown you can have to run down a mountain to retrieve it.

Ok so last night while playing the game I ran into a peculiar problem
Can anyone pls tell what exactly is wrong
So I found a Drake egg nest and picked up one egg (I have max drop rate so 3 came out but could only pick one because each is 200wt and left the other 2 and they despawned)
Now I took the help of Valheim world gen and looked for 4 different egg sites 2 on that same modor mountain and 2 another mountain and none of them have the best at the place where the map generator said. What it does have is one white crystal covered in rock. Now I am stuck.
I went to the plains to not get bored but got jumped by goblins and died 🥲

Skoll and hati is awesome, though you want the fenris armor or other light armor with it to swiftly move when needed, can't really parry with it so moving away, jump attack or sneak jump are really killers.
You don't want to go into a slogfest with it, hit and run tactics work well and is an excellent backup weapon for bow.

So I don’t use the Skeleton raiser staff… but with the Protection Staff and the Ask armor set I have 100 defense stat plus the bubble which absorbs like 300 damage. And the Ask set provides speed over normal heavy sets. It also provides reduced stamina use when running. Reduced stamina use when attacking, the Feather cape lets me jump higher … between the movement speed and protection bubble, I hardly take any damage. I’m almost never hit. I run and jump and jump-cast the Ember staff. As you progress thru the Ashlands you unlock more staffs. With 1 HP, 1 Eitr, and 1 Stam, I am able to have enough Eitr to use the Staff of the Protection, Staff of the Wild, and Staff of Embers. When my Eitr gets low, I usually have full stamina, switch to my sword sprint up, and swing with my sword. When Stamina gets low, my eitr is back full again, I switch to my staffs and start mage casting. As I do that, my stamina regens up…. I am sort of able to run and jump and dodge and cast spells …. But I can still take a few hits w/o dying and I can still go toe to toe melee a little to dish big damage and use stamina when eitr is low

I also use Fire Resist Mead while in the Ashlands because they’re very cheap and the Feather Cape is very weak to fire so the Fire resist mead negates that weakness

And I use Lingering Stam mead and Lingering Eitr mead while I am in big combat fights

Are the infested mines not considered a dungeon? They absolutely do respawn a lot/most/all of the mobs from what I can tell. From collecting royal jelly in mines that I had 100% cleared days prior, definitely almost got myself killed the first time with a huge mob of seekers, a seeker soldier, etc.

Maypole is only available midsummer. Like May and June mostly. It is a seasonal item like the Christmas Tree etc. one can be cheated into the game outside of the midsummer season with console/dev commands

@proud hinge i would make a small beach head, mostly for a portal away. But surround it a good 70-100m out with some well placed campfires to mitigate some of the spawning near your small base on the shore. You'll still have wondering skeles come around, but they're easily dispatched, or you can just ignore them. It's best to not use any wood for main structures when you get there, so bring plenty of stone and enough wood for a workbench and stonecutter and you'll be pretty much set.

It'll probably be a fight to secure your beach head though, so be prepared for that with plenty of health potions, and stamina type potions

Barely fire wine gives more fire resistance than fenris set bonus, and they don’t stack. However the root harness gives a weakness to fire so both builds are the same against fire attacks.

If you’re fighting yagluth (as later messages imply) I’d recommend padded helmet, wine, and one piece padded one piece fenris for shirt and pants.

yagluth doesn’t deal pierce so just get a wine and as much defense as you can handle the movement loss for

Both of those locations will be in a large black forest, somewhat near your home island, but not necessarily same island. The elder location you usually find a Vegistrer tablet somewhere in a black forest dungeon Buried Chambers or whatever they’re called

The best way to find the trader is to get in a karve, and sail a large circle around your starter island, it’s very likely the Trader will show up on the map as you sail by a neighboring island

Hello, so recently after restarting my computer my whole game has become choppy/laggy, the load screens and start menu plus the actual game play instelf. It feels like I’m running 1fps. Things to check:
1: mods. If you have any installed make sure they are up to date and state they are compatible with ashlands.
2: drivers. Make sure your drivers are current.
3: background programs. See if your CPU or GPU are struggling when you have valheim up and what programs you might be able to close to help lessen the load.

My cursed/silly blood magic leveling strategy (for the ashlands and up) is to use the troll staff with 4 (preferably sword wielding) skellies, plus yourself. You can not include yourself if you want, as it is pretty dangerous. But basically just have the bubble, take a whack, parry 2nd whack which breaks all 5 bubbles, repeat. Your health will be really low from all that, so try at your own risk. Staying back yourself and letting the skellies do it all is definitely safer, though still has some risk. It moves pretty fast this way, but not exactly "fast".

Summoned trolls are also very good for leveling axes if you're using the berserkirs (much faster hit speed, but too much damage for other enemies to last on)

Another option is to raise the ground w/ hoe over draugr + skeleton spawners (all 3), and just let your skellies fight and have bubbles popped, etc. Overall blood magic levels far too slowly, in my opinion. The draugr method is also good for leveling clubs, swords, etc.

100 is definitely not worth the time, imo. The draugr spawner method is probably the fastest for blood magic, but getting to 100 would take an absolutely prohibitively enormous amount of time. Ashlands aren't that bad. Having a spinesnap and frost arrows will go a really long way. I'm happy to be a battle buddy in the ashlands if you want one

Mistlands, like all other biomes, follows the same progression model, if that is what you mean.
1: get in the new biome
2: get new material and build better base, armor, weapons and food.
2a: find whatever you need to fight the boss.
3: find the boss and beat them.
4: prep for the next biome.

Ah, then you would need more to make a full seal breaker before being able to fight the boss. Keep going into infested mines and clearing them out to find more.

There are some villages of dwarves, they have light sources, so that's easy to see them far away.
Also they love to fight Seekers and Seeker Soldiers a lot... So you don't have to wipe a village by your own xD

Once Seeker Soldier with 1 star basically killed almost every dwarf in a village, even 2-star Rogue, and Dwarf-mage with fire stuff destroyed everything around, so I've looted Sap Extractor easily and just after defeating Moder.
