I've been to the mistlands before. I'm still traumatized by the purple bugs and the flying artillery jellyfish that launched volleys of three, and the giant ticks that drained my health in less than a second or whenever I happened to be out of stamina (until I managed to figure out ticks, now it's only the purple ones that make me panic). Coupled with the verticality of the Mistlands, that's a recipe for heart palpitations I was not prepared for

Maybe? It could easily have taken damage before and you hit it with a pickaxe and it just blew up or something. I've been making all of my spawner farms like this. I just went into a new world with devcommands and mined one out - even cleared the ground around the cosmetic additional roots to be sure. Still intact

Active training for blood magic? You can tie in elder - use the seeds gotten from the grey dwarf farm. Get as many skeletons up as possible and just recast shield on each stomp and let the skeletons kill him. Each shield break gives you 1 exp and each hit from the skeleton is .75 iirc

crossbow skill is really the big one because it increases reload speed. If yours is still low switching to staff of embers or frost after a crossbow sneak attack is very viable though, arbalest + charred bolts takes nearly half a valkyries health with a sneak attack.

also while twitchers and marksmen resist pierce a sneak attack with a ripper still oneshots them.

Stone golems are very easy training dummies for elemental magic, and spawners are great for hordes (preferably swamps with its bigger spawn rates)

draugr villages are great if you can find one. 2 spawners close together are pretty common and spawn enough draugr to level blood magic and crossbows simultaneously.

There's a lot of dying in the beginning but once you all get some ashlands gear it will get easier. Not sure how big your group is but Ashlands really shows the damage/health scaling from multiple people in my opinion. When I am playing alone, I can manage the ashlands even at night because ive got experience and gear but if 2 other people are on its a whole different ball game because the enemies hit so much harder. Things that I am used to being able to block just break right through my guard. So if you have a big group that may explain the deaths. Everyone should be rotating bonemass if not playing as a mage

since you're relying on the stone pieces for the wall, but wooden floor for pillars, you're going to have an offset. Reverse the order of placement to connect the core wood pillar flush with your roof. they won't end to end snap, but they will clip through each other. You'll also need vertical pillars snapping at each wall segment so you can distribute the stability of the stone to the roof.

what i did is placed a wall then i rotated the next wall by 1 then snaped it 2 the previous wall

Gathering the stone for this project has been painful, my last base used 4x2, so I wanted to try 2x1 intentionally this time, but it has been very resource-intensive already.

I should mention I'm running 2x resource rate on this world so it could be worse. I think because it's 2x resource rate that helps with gathering stone quite a bit.

Black Marble has 1500 hp while grausten has anywhere between 400 to 4000 hp depending on the size of the piece and is resistant to slash pierce and elemental and immune to poison and spirit. the big difference between marble and Grausten is immune to elemental, spirit and poison but has no physical resistances. a combo of the two would cover all you bases and be a formidable defense if layered :3
