I am a obsessive hoarder personality, so I survey the copper node, mark the edges using wooden poles, then start digging, making sure I am inside the estimated border so I do not excavate the entire forest

Then there's pit props, stairs, torches, some campfires to keep the greydwarves at a distance...

Occasionally a troll comes by to inspect my work

Need a repair station to repair the tools. If I brought a cart, I set up kiln and smelter to refine the ores.

personally i'd rather go all the way back home to repair an upgraded bronze or iron pick but i'll admit what i mentioned somewhat works

After fighting ten instances of Eikthyr, at the same time.

Took three ingame days to slay them all and they absolutely leveled my base with the ground. But it was doable.

I think they've since made that... not doable, because I could not spawn more than one at a time at the altar.

In my world rn, I found a bonemass island. but off to west of it, I can see the Yagluth altar (Ive never fought him before btw). And the islands dont have any actual ocean in between them, so ive just been raising ground, but it takes forever

I've been thinking about just fencing in an existing lox spawn next to my base and feeding them.

Most of the time I get raided it comes from the east (plains) and the Lox just absolute shit stomp the raids for me half the time.

But then the problem is making sure they're fed

I actually tested new method for safely deal with them.
I used Klossen secondary attacks previously for the knockback and root effect and then Primal axes to finish the job. New method is using Primal Splitnir throws instead of Klossen for the same effect.

Spears have higher xp gain for primary attacks than any other weapon skill, so it won't be too much of issue.

Throw at unalerted asksvin which get staggered, run to pick the spear and hit once or twice. Quick job.

Against valkyries you can hit them slightly better due to their higher hitbox.

Hybrid melee/mage setup with Vilebone armor set + Jörmundling using EEF diet. +20% to blunt should also apply to weapons like Staff of Embers/Fracturing, right?

it might, but it's not efficient. You're giving up +100% eitr regen from the armor to do that, so you're trading off your capability for sustained firefight for effective 10% damage increase. And Jormundling won't really trigger often enough to sustain your eitr reserve

Not the most effective, yes, but funny interaction. Maybe the other eitr trinket and lingering eitr mead might help more with the regen.

Best results I’ve had would be to go 45deg from the outer corners (both ways so diagonally out) to get a bit more height and width, then go from there.
Other times I’ve had two crypts close to each other and bridged them.
I had one near a forever tree and so used the crypt as the start of the stairs upwards to the tree base.

I mostly do this just for something fun around a simple base for portal, emergency food and repairs and smelt the iron as I get and run it out so it’s mostly done by the time I’m done with the crypt.

Thanks for the added context, in that case decide on the height you want first and width and how much you wanna hold in it and go from there. The aboms generally can’t reach anything higher than the very top of the crypt. The archers can but they are just skeleton ones that are whatever. Only problem would be a more advanced raid like trolls with trees or something which is why I go for higher up.

I'm thinking of crafting a bunch of gear for a bunch of "aquantences" to just go in and blast the area safe...

Once you are in ashlands with your progression, not really, you would have around half of them already at that point. Some are more difficult because they rely on rng spawns and rng drops, like bear and vile armour, fenris can be also difficult because of the cultist trophy. So in general, not hard, but can be time consuming. 🙂

The summoned creatures are an exception as far as i remember 🙂
I recall the summoned trolls used to not be attacked by Fader and they would just hit him constantly without him doing anything to them.

So they're not too much of a problem, if you deal quickly with them.

Bows are good, if you're a good shot and can hit things on the run. I'm not, so I'm better off with melee.

And sword and board really is the safest way to go.

It works for almost all enemies (except Bonemass and golems).

And even golems can be dispatched fairly quickly with a silver sword.

My first Queen fight was a complete mess. I tried Himminafl, but I took too much damage. I tried full-on mage, but I took... guessed it, too much damage.

I'm just too slow to get away from her quickly.

And usually I can hit crawling seeker larvae pretty well with the sword.

Atgeir should hit them as well, if I remember correctly.

And you can now hit mobs on slopes above or below you.

valheim is a little particular about meat being cooked versus raw. feasts often require cooked meat but most food not in a feast asks for raws. there is rare cauldron food that requires grilled meat like deer stew
