Because of how often I stagger someone with a block but cannot actually get the first attack off.

silk token
#

I feel like to be completely viable in very hard it needs to be faster than most enemy attacks so they can’t decide to NOT do their wonky pathing and suddenly turn and hit you after you’ve already pressed attack

silk token
gray sand
#

My main gripe is that the first attack doesn't fit in the stagger window 🤷‍♂️ That's what I am basing the 0.1s on.

#

This isn't Halo multiplayer on SWAT... I am not jumping around to randomly attack things.

silk token
#

I feel like most enemies I get the first two attacks off before they lose stagger

gray sand
#

Block - PING
Wind-up - oh look, they are moving...

silk token
#

yeah, I’m remembering bears specifically, if I parry I hit the first two and the third re-staggers them

#

which mob besides charred can you not at at least 1 hit off?

gray sand
#

It's been a while since I tested it.
Battleaxes were a one-day "Yeah this is barely too slow" experience and I haven't touched them since.

silk token

gasp! maybe you’ll love them and should try them again!! embrace your anger. draw your axe.

gray sand
eager bough
#

An it’s why I have to have plant everything mod . I enjoy farming trying to plant rows in a straight line and laugh at the curves after . But being able to plant all I find in same Biome as well use bushes for deco in my landscaping. I am horrid 👀

#

Just stumbled across the Valhiemian build page was unaware download a build from someone else was a thing has peaked my interest.

chrome badge
#

Never say never tbh, just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. Not to mention, they could add the ability to plant fake bushes for cosmetic reasons, and keep the utility of bushes in the wild.

orchid locust
#

I always thought that being able to uproot and replant bushes would be a fair compromise

cedar stump
#

already dead right as we landed to mistland ahha

orchid locust
#

like, sure, you can't plant them from nothing, but if you were to bring a bush from the forest to your home?

lilac anvil

is there a mod that lets you spawn in clothing? i lost my flower crown :(

merry pebble
orchid locust

the uprooting mechanic is something that even normal farming needs anyway, since I don't think it's fair you have to waste a seed just because there's not enough space

I keep reading that you can get ores from forts in Ashlands but haven’t found any. Are the forts the ruin like structures that have pottery in them?

I really wish enemies / animals in this game weren't designed to just randomly start attacking your shit while you're away from your base

gonna have to build some kind of base around here

I just use towers that are already there. Especially if they have doors intact, and if it has a dungeon in the basement, bonus.

Also look out for bridges. Fantastic to tear down for resources.

#

They are very easy to tear down if you have a stonecutter and forge on hand.

cedar stump

it was peacful for a while near our portal I really thought it was "safe-ish"

#

the issue was when I was trying to grab my shit back I had ore and extractor on me and couldnt portal back haha

#

Just sad I wanted to setup the sap extractor right when I had the mats on me he showed up lol

gray sand
#

Peace is a lie. Every good Sith knows this 😏

fossil delta
cedar stump
#

Idm seekers/soldiers but a drone solo im having a hard time but yeah tomorrow gonna find a decent marble tower and set up there and have a backup portal for coming back as well

fossil delta
#

They are weak in their belly, so try to target that as exclusively as possible

#

I use the iron sledge to handle ticks. Makes them pretty much a non threat.

cedar stump
#

The issue is our starter spot is kinda surrounded by those rock hills so it was hard to dodge his attacks

fossil delta
#

The fire mead helps a lot, plus you can use terrain like that to block his fire from even hitting you.

#

Roots can be very protective too, if they have good space underneath.

cedar stump
#

Thanks for the tips, first day in mistland was quite something haha might upgrade the armor fully too, got padded armor level 2 and bm sword and shield level 3 atm.

fossil delta
#

Pretty sure armor value helps lower the damage you take from the fire. so between the armor, mead, and shield, you should take very little damage. I use a Tower shield, so take practically no damage.

silk token
cedar stump
#

I was the one being derpy running like a headless chicken haha but like poke with the spear or u mean throwing them? Got the fang spear

fossil delta
#

You can still use a bow to do that as well.

#

You'd have to throw it, and I do believe the Fang Spear is still the best at that stage. I still use the bow, so don't know for sure.

silk token
#

you basically immediately catch and equip it again, it'll go like 5x faster than a bow

cedar stump
#

Ill keep that in mind tho and bring meads, can't wait to explore more hopefully we find some mines, think I need something in there to unlock magic.

fossil delta
#

You need a few things to unlock magic, and two of them, at least, are in dungeons. Another the dvergr have.

cedar stump
#

Yeah already got that from dvergr

fossil delta
#

Also, any large skull you see, empty it out.

cedar stump

Seekers were attacking them and I looted it off the ground lol think we got most of the new items minus the mines stuff

Gang am I crazy or are tar blobs insanely strong, like far far too much.

#

They spawn in groups and shoot a whole ass submachine gun of goop at you that slows you down a ton

cedar sparrow
#

They're manageable once you know how. Run to the side and forward to avoid their tar jets, and hit them with a mace as you keep circling them to avoid the tar spray. If you can lure them off one at a time to separate them, it'll also make things easier. The huntsman bow is super quiet so shoot one fron a distance using that

They require a certain strategy to deal with if you're up close. I try to pop them from afar if I am able, they are pretty squishy.

I feel like the amount of item drops you get in this game is super imbalanced. Like resin is basically just infinite and doesnt have much of a use beyond torch fuel. Then, tar is limited and kinda difficult to get but it is used in a bunch of common construction recipes. Plus it is not infinite in any reasonable way.

I'm playing helmet Embla with flametal on others slots.

I'm a little bit afraid of taking too much damage in full Embla.

For a pure mage, use the whole set its well wotth it

I really like combo builds though, then I use a mix

I’m full magic and only have the Embla helmet so far. Still using Mistlands magic for the rest. I just make sure I always have my prot bubble up

west mica

You can go with blood mage where you use just blood magic to keep your HP low then use blood weapons for massive damage

#

Or do an elemental spellsword thing where you use magic for ranged and AoE followed up with melee weapons for focused damage

#

If you are a pure mage the amount of armor you have doesnt really matter for much, since you will want to keep your bubble up at all times

Stumbling aimlessly until you find a dungeon is flawed design.

A lot of content and fun gear, enjoy that you have to use your hearing and navigation skills, love that there's a relevant allied faction of mobs there. leads to some fun times

#

Ashlands was a let down for me. Mobs are pretty cool but the forts are just ugh

fossil delta
#

Over all, I like the Mistlands a lot. Especially when I find largish areas clear of the mists.

#

Ashlands I just find purely ugly and tedius. The near constant fighting loses its charm rather fast.

paper marsh
#

I agree though wisplight doesn't do a ton, which should probably be changed in some way. I usually start progressing mistlands a while before getting a wisp

heady parcel
#

Same. I just wish there was a bigger build piece like the dvergr beacons that cleared larger bubbles of mist. It could be unlocked after queen is dead, or requirie black forge to craft, either way something to make base building and post-queen "polish" more fun. Spamming wisplights is ugh

fossil delta
#

So far, the dvergr have not treated our use of those new bombs as attacks on them, by us.

heady parcel
#

To actually kill a group of dvergr you'll have to go through half a stack, no?

fossil delta
#

Haven't had to try that, yet. But probably 4 or 5 for just no stars, is my guess.

tacit crystal
#

Ooze bombs are very useful in Frost caves where the residents are weak against poison and deal damage types that oozes resist.

fossil delta
#

Thats where we use them the most, in Frost caves, then in the mines of the Mistlands. Takes 4 to kill all the seekers behind a door/wall, not to mention ticks. If they are not starred.

heady parcel
#

<making notes> I still need to raid a few frost caves to complete my fenris set, and mines can be bothersome later on, that I will have to try!

fossil delta
#

Makes the mines a lot easier, for sure. Between those bombs and the big hammers, the mines are pretty low stress. Only really tough things are starred warriors and 2 star seekers, but even then the bomb soften them up a little.

heady parcel
#

I love the idea of them, but seeing most mobs just pop them immediately unscathed put me off a bit

fossil delta
#

I'm talking mostly the original oooze bombs. We only use the actual blob bombs and freeze bombs in the Misltnads. Those don't get behind the walls as well as the classic ooze bombs. My wife makes hundreds of them, so we have plenty to use.

#

The bile bombs soften up soldiers a good bit.

heady parcel
#

Never had the displeasure of running into a two satar seeker in a mine, I've only seen one and he was guarding the queen's lair. He and two one-star buddies, they were a tougher fight than the queen herself I think. I had absolutely no space to move between a cliff and the sea...

fossil delta
#

Playing with my wife makes them pretty easy, same with soldiers. We get them between us and then go all "savage aggression" on them. We kill them pretty fast.

#

That bonus creatures get for there being two of us doesn't seem to do them any good. 😄

cedar stump

#

AKA: Once you know how to pop, you can't stop.

heady parcel
#

Aye I could never not mine a silver vein that way. With copper I don't bother though, they're just to big and irregular, often end up digging up half the bloody forest for one node. More efficient to take more nodes and not dig quite as deep.

chrome badge
#

I stopped doing that after timing myself, it took longer to dig it out completely than to just mine it 😛

paper marsh
#

Mining it also gives pickaxe skill

pliant hatch
#

For copper I only mine the top part, leaving the rest underground.

But for the skulls, ribcages and the ancient armor / weapons found in the Mistlands it's so satisfying the moment you have that hit and the ground sparkles with all the black marble. Or copper / orin.

chrome badge
#

Yeah, so the more you mine, the faster it gets.

heady parcel
#

Silver is pretty slow to mine, fairly small chunks that come off each time that excavating it all at least feels more efficient. And that way I can be sure I am not missing something...

pliant hatch

Silver is the only thing I actually uncover completely.

You can even lower your difficulty for a while until you're used to the biome, then put it back to your normal playing difficulty.
The World Modifiers are for that and there's no shame in doing so.

It's your game after all. So it doesn't matter what others think, just as long as you have fun.

cedar stump
#

its still only at 80% xd me and my friend are both dead, but at least we kiting it away when dieing so portal is still up

#

since its been up for so long fighting us theres so many ticks haha

fossil delta
#

Scenarios like this is when that old gear can come in handy.

cedar stump
#

my old gear is somwhere in my 10 graves over there xd

fossil delta
#

Or better yet, have a crap ton of mats in your chests, so you can make more.

tacit crystal
cedar stump
#

aaaaand portal is dead again...

fossil delta
#

Dang. I hope your next portal isn't too far away. OF course, first time in Mistlands, any other portal is too far away...

cedar stump
#

its very close to our yagluth stone portal but both of our boat are on the mistland shore

fossil delta
#

If you get back soon enough, none of the mats will despawn.

cedar stump
#

dont think it despawn at all maybe time based when server is on

#

ive got all my gear back at least, but not my mate.

fossil delta
#

Boat items I think stay in boxes. You only have to worry about the ones that sink, like the nails.

cedar stump
#

maybe I gotta try with some stamina food

#

ive been using serpent stew/lox pie/wolf skewer but then I run out of stam dodging all the ticks and tank the gjall attacks

fossil delta
#

I always do one stamina. Usually the Salad in Misltands.

So my game crashed, somehow character got saved weird, i lost my bear armor set that I placed on a stand and took the carapace armor. Crash. Now I have carapace on me & on stand. Double armor...no bear armor. How can I fix this do a swap with commands?!

#

plus many other stuff dublicated or got lost like random resources...

fossil delta
#

Yeah, dev commands.

#

I usually only lose two items or so. So don't worry about it, Unless it happens to be made by mats I only have few of.

My first mistlands portal I dug into a stone spire. Excavated under, then hollowed out just enough space to slap down the portal and a discreet door into the hillside. Had gjall raids where I could just listen to them flying around outside all confused untill they effed off..

cedar stump
# untold sinew Y?

gjall camping our first camp in mistland we have both our boat on the shore

#

and gjall destroyed our portal ofc

Just killing you isn't enough, it has to add insult to injury. 😄

we will also bring back our longboat from there before going back in just incase lol

How can cooking be just at 25 after all the bloody cooking I have done?!? Hell, even sneaking is higher!

pliant hatch

Because it's a skill that doesn't grant as much XP as other things, while you also use it less compared to the other skills.

cedar stump
#

whats the orange bar below every skill btw?

heady parcel

I use it all the darned time though, I like making great stores of stuff. Even made an effort to bake old meat into coal just to get a bit of xp, but I gave up

heady parcel
cedar stump

hmm that would be weird that I had 0 xp in blocking or some other skills but hmmk

#

wonder how many levels ive lost x)

heady parcel
#

Many deaths in quick succession is not that bad, the 10-minute no-skill-drain thing kinda encourages zerging and dying again, and again, and again...

#

If you get held up and know you might not make it to the death site, I know folks who get themselves killed to reset the timer and try again

#

I hate dying too much to ever do that though, I do my damndest not to die. I'm not on a no-deaths run or anything, but I still haven't died once this time. Not even falling off my house while building!

cedar stump
#

love how the gjall is just staying there shooting our building still

pliant hatch
#

You two don't have a bow to shoot at it?
Or even one of you has one?

cedar stump
#

we both do but all the ticks overwhelms us

pliant hatch
#

And what if one of you shoots the Gjall, while the other one uses an AoE weapon to deal with the ticks?

heady parcel
#

Ticks are very squishy, anything kills them instantly. If anyone of you has an atgeir or sledge, use the AoE thing to wipe them off the both of you while the other guy focuses on the gjall.

pliant hatch
#

Even dropping an Oozebomb and stand in the cloud will help you as that will kill the ticks too.

heady parcel
#

Oh, I just said the same as Thorin, just some other words - seems a legit strategy then 😅

cedar stump
#

oh well im done

#

couldnt fight 10 ticks 2 seekers and a gjall.

pliant hatch
#

Last effort solution:

Enable dev-commands, leave the console and press "K" that kills them all.

I'm aware it's cheating, but that's better than rage-quitting a game because you got thrown too much at you.

cedar stump
#

if I was playing solo I would have already done that, my friend doesnt wanna do that at all.

#

And ive lost all my patience dying like 20 times.

#

prolly should make some aoe weapons ig

pliant hatch

I guess lowering the difficulty is off limits too?

Yeah, key when you have such a congregation of mobs in one place is to not rush in headfirst. Use your bows to lure a few ticks at a time to you, kite them away a bit to not alert the others, rince and repeat. Do that until the gjall is solo - then let one guy focus the honking horror and the other takes care of any creepy-crawlers it deploys!

cedar stump
#

our main issue is my friend and I have never fought the gjall together since this whole ordeal.

chrome badge

At least the things you'll need to source aren't very heavy, you could likely carry an entire inventory of berries.

#

Even though mines can get pretty crazy multiple times, because they do have a fair number of different layouts.

ionic elk
#

Gjall usually spawn in the same areas in my experience, once I avoided those spots Mistlands became way more chill!

#

It was the biome that forced me to adjust settings tho, tho make it more manageable and fun as a solo player. The amount of viking chores at that point alone can be really time consuming

fossil delta

Yeah, it does get to be more and more as you progress.

ionic elk

Lightfoot mead is a must imo

cedar stump

oh I think I unlocked that but havent checked it out

#

oh wow thats BiS for traveling mistland

fossil delta

Yeah, fire meads are key when fighting gjall. You'll get to a point where you can just stand there and keep shooting at it while it breathes on you, and you will be fine. (lvl 3 Mistlands armor, plus fire mead.)

ionic elk
#

Yeah massively so when you have the feather cape too, jinkies

cedar stump

we are rocking padded armor level 2 currently.

#

we barely explored mistland we were just trying to setup furnace/kiln etc.

fossil delta
#

Yeah, Lightfoot is a game changer for Mistlands.

ionic elk
#

I didn't rock fire resist mead, just stood in water when fighting gjalls, can be useful in a pinch

fossil delta

Between it, the running mead, and the feather cloak, you can feel like your flying up and down those mountains, etc... in the game.

Which you pretty much have to do anyways, to find mines, skulls, and extractors.

heady parcel
#

Thing with magic for it to truly shine it requires a significant time investment to "re-school" your character. When you start dabbling in magic your staves will be lvl one and your skills at lvl 1 - bringing it into mistlands right away will hurt a lot. You need to spend a lot of time training - to learn how to use the staves and to actually grind the skills - before magic gets to shine. I've never made it, I hate the playstyle. I liked my two skellies that ran around randomly around my shroom farm for weeks after I tested the dead raiser, but gods I hated the mechanics of bubbling, tossing fire etc etc. Not my thing, blegh. But it is fun that it is in the game, and the robes make for nice decorations in the house!

I kited him around a black tower

fossil delta

Gjall don't scare me. If they are starred, it just means I use the terrain more to block their attack. It just takes longer to kill them.

fossil delta

Kind of. Its a new core, period.

You need these new cores to process the tissue too.

#

3 new tables/crafting stations.

#

They are only in the mines. Also called dungeons.

#

Along with another food item for Eityr, and I think a mead or two.

cedar stump
#

yeah got the mead unlock and food items for it with the new cauldron I think

fossil delta

Which is why I take over a tower with a dungeon in it, and leave a portal there. A few things respawn every few hours in these dungeon/mines.

fossil delta

I'd have to look to be sure.

cedar stump

The actual explanation is "devs said so" 😁

fossil delta

At least you can apply some realism to it, whether its why the devs "said so" or not.

#

Realism has not been a thing with regards to metals, or much of anything, in Valheim. Its all based on myth.

#

We play dead people.

cedar stump
#

time to get more extractor, gjall gonna help us slay those dvergr xd

fossil delta
#

Thats what I usually do. I hate watching those towers get so damaged, though. Usually more by the mages than the gjall! 😄 😄

#

Its much easier with mining sites, and you don't have to get all the dvergr killed either. Just go in there and make the gjall target you at what you want destroyed.

#

The dvergr don't care about what you pick up afterwards.

cedar stump
#

well scouted too far on the mistland, had 0 food buff up 🙁

#

still havent seen a single mine.

#

found like 8 roots and 5 towers no mines smh

pliant hatch
#

They're either hidden under a former Dvergr tower or as a "cave" with a large staircase in front and usually a single burning Wisp-lantern.
And there's always seekers near them.

fossil delta
#

Yeah, a big clue to us is when we get atacked by more than 2 seekers. Probably a mine nearby. That, or a dvergr mine that got over run by seekers, but those are kind of rare, and usually have nothing of real worth in them.

cedar stump
#

lightfoot makes traversing mistland so much better wow 😄

pliant hatch
#

Depends if you consider the cores as "not real worth"

fossil delta
#

These are their surface mines, not the ones we go inside of. Granted, they built both, but you only find living dvergr at one of them. Usually. Just not these.

#

These mines are where you find them messing with giant skulls, or more often, ribs. But when its just seekers, it looks like they abandoned it, and the seekers moved in.

pliant hatch
#

If you consider that a mine, then there's three.

One being the skull-excavation , one being an overrun Dvergr Tower and one being the staircase entrance with the single wisp lantern.

#

Out of those three, two have a chance to give you cores and spawn a vegvisir. The skull excavation won't do that, but give you marble and tissue.

cedar stump
#

seeker 2 star holy sheeeesh

fossil delta
#

Its a mining site. Where they "mine" skulls or ribs. Its funny that they still have crates of brain matter when its just ribs in the hole.

cedar stump
#

still havent found a single mine tho dang it

pliant hatch
#

In general, when players talk about a "mine" they mean the ones underground where you can find the vegvisirs and the cores.

Not the one where you can find the soft tissue.

fossil delta
#

They take a bit to find. They are not common. You will easily find 5+ towers occupied by dvergr before you will find a mine in such a tower, or with the stairs.

pliant hatch
#

That one's usually listed as an excavation site.

fossil delta
#

Well, they are mines, not dungeons. Either way, digging for something took place at one time or another.

cedar stump
#

like thats what we have discovered so far, prolly didnt look good enough, some spots did have lonely lantern with some seekers.https://imgur.com/a/T6VICbZ

pliant hatch
#

So I guess the archeological site at Pompeï is a mine as well, according to your definition.

fossil delta
#

The game calls what we go into mines, not dungeons.

pliant hatch
fossil delta
#

I never see a name for the surface digging. Excavation fits as well.

#

Yeah, infested MINE, not dungeon.

#

Thats why I said what the game calls it, not a wiki.

#

I rarely look at the wiki.

#

Why do I know the Dvergr dug the infested mines? Because they tell you so, within the game. Not because I looked at a wiki.

cedar stump
#

lost my corpse and loot again 😄

#

we gotta run for like 5-10min before going back to our graves but we keep dying on the way back GG think its enough valheim for me sadly

fossil delta

Yeah, I carry a portal with me all the time. Put it up when I know trouble is coming, or I am getting into it. It helps on the death runs.

cedar stump

we were exploring and being careless alot meh

#

im so sad, no patience left for today.

fossil delta
#

Understandable. I get that way with Ashlands. Even faster than normal just because I find the place so ugly. At least Mistlands is pretty.

cedar stump
#

Mistland is such a difficulty spike x) just because of traversing the land and such

#

often in bad spots having to take a fight

fossil delta
#

Yep. Its more important than ever to move to a better fighting location.

cedar stump
#

welp at least tomorrow we gonna have more lightfoot mead, ig we equip full silver gear and get back should be fine.

fossil delta
#

Silver gear? Not as good as plains gear. I hope your friend is at least using the black metal tower shield.

cedar stump
#

we dont have "good" backup gear

#

its the set before padded armor

fossil delta
#

Oh, this is back up gear? OK, not terrible. Like I have said, until this week, my wife goes all the way to Ashlands with Root Armor.

cedar stump
#

I dont get whats so good about root

fossil delta
#

Now she will do it with the Vile set.

cedar stump
#

and its weak to fire too so bad against gjall

fossil delta
#

Yep. I don't get it either, but my wife does a lot of things I don't get in Valheim. She doesn't die nearly as often as I would have used to think she should. Like she has died only twice this play through.

pliant hatch
#

Root harnask gives good pierce resistance.
Combine it with the Fire potion and the weakness to fire is gone.

cedar stump
#

ah so its good against Seekers and such

pliant hatch
#

Aye

fossil delta

Yeah, but my wife will still die to the gjall, where as I hardly take any damage. I can stand there and kill it.

With it breathing on me two or three times.

Hardly any damage to me.

tropic scarab
fossil delta
#

Very possible. I died at least 10 times so far in Ashlands in my prior play through. Died 8 time the entire game before that. This time I have yet to die. So the Queen is the most likely time for that to happen. Then back into the Ashlands again.

cedar stump
#

just in the first 30minute I think ive died to trees like 2-3 times 😆

fossil delta
#

When I first started playing I died to trees, boar, campfire smoke, you name it, I probably died that way.

#

I didn't really stop dying until I tried figuring out how to do Zero Death runs.

tropic scarab
fossil delta
#

I haven't gotten that far into the game yet, in any play through. I really hate the Ashlands, so lose motivation pretty easily once I get into there.

tropic scarab
#

If you wanna see it, it’s in the help channel

#

Or at least an aerial view

fossil delta
#

At least is easy to get that material from Ashlands. They destroy stuff all the time for you.

tropic scarab
#

It was a insane amount. The holes are so long that if you stand on one end, you can’t see the other, it doesn’t render in.

tropic scarab
#

Halls*

fossil delta
tropic scarab
#

Ya it’s crazy i can’t seem to be able to farm the metal every time I try I die, but I can get everything else basically

fossil delta
#

Can't you just do that free build command, and get unlimited mats for building?

tropic scarab
#

Ya but I was doing it lagit for the clout haha it’s been a project for a while

fossil delta
tropic scarab
#

It’s basically a museum it is gonna have every armor every weapon every shield all the carpets basically everything and a storage area that has at least one chest for every item in the game

fossil delta
#

So its my house.

tropic scarab
#

At it mostly solo for seven months*

fossil delta
#

Heh, if I did that build by myself, it may very well have taken me that long as well.

#

I destroyed entire mountains doing that build.

cedar stump
#

time to play some raft for the rest of the evening and chill now 😛

tropic scarab
#

Definitely that’s awesome 👏 I can’t wait to get the tower done once the tower is done then I can do everything solo again I just need help with collecting metal for the beams on the tower and same part of what I built on is bedrock I started in a small flat area and there was only hills around at the start so I carved everything out by myself and slowly farmed the growsten and brought it back it took forever to clear out the courtyards 😓 but everything went smoothly other then there’s a bound on the crop side in the dead center that’s bedrock and I can’t dig it down so I have no idea what to do with it other than maybe raise it up and build a building on it or something?

fossil delta
fossil delta
tropic scarab
#

Ya you can just go higher than iron can

fossil delta
#

I had not noticed that yet. Been too focused on gear, I guess.

tropic scarab
#

Ya it’s dope

fossil delta
#

As hard as it has been to get, I wouldn't use it for building anyways.

#

But its always hard early on in each biome. Maybe if I ever got all the gear, maxed it out, then I might use it.

#

But, as I mentioned earlier, since I hate Ashlands, I've quickly lost motivation to even go further every time.

#

Last time was my first time even making the new gear.

tropic scarab
#

I definitely understand that honestly I haven’t gotten good enough weapons to be able to take on anything hand hand so I haven’t been able to progress. I can only use my magic build, but my magic build won’t help me when I’m trying to build a ship to go to the next island And I can’t get better weapons because I can’t farm the metal by myself😂

fossil delta
#

Yeah, I haven't even found a fortress yet. So only get it from the dvergr or the lava islands that sink.

pliant hatch
tropic scarab
fossil delta
#

My fortress' there are all built by me. Except for the part of the local buildings I integrated into my builds.

#

Because they have those vines on them, and they respawn that food item.

tropic scarab
#

Haha nice I honestly didn’t want to build anything because I knew it would just get destroyed or I’d be constantly repairing it so I just used portals until I took down a fortress and then turned the fortress into my base because I knew it would basically never get destroyed

fossil delta
#

My outer most walls are raised earth. Nothing gets past those, except the fliers. They are rare enough the repairs don't get overly irritating.

tropic scarab
#

The troll staff is the only reason I can last 5 minutes anymore haha

fossil delta
#

I stay pure melee. Never went into the Ashlands with a mage build.

tropic scarab
#

I have the ask set fully upgraded to level three and I have the magic set for the Ashlands fully upgraded to level three but my heavy armor is only level one

#

I really need to farm more but every time that I try to go out into the lava to farm the towers, I get hit by a rock or an arrow, as I’m jumping and get knocked into the lava every single time

fossil delta
#

Only Flametal piece I have above lvl 1 is my tower shield.

#

Yeah, I hate those lava bombs. Things just so happen to blast me into the lava, which is where I die. Did that to me twice last time.

tropic scarab
#

Right it sucks

fossil delta
#

It does. Place looks ugly, and your fighting all the time, outside of your fort. I pretty much hate everything about the place.

pliant hatch
#

Yeah, that kinda happens when there's a constant war raging on and everything is burned to the ground.

Same thing happened in lots of countries over the past 21 centuries. The entire WW I trench front line is a very good example of it.

Maxed out Iron Buckler is 100, maxed out Silver Shield is only 108.

So I just Bronze Buckler -> Iron Buckler -> Blackmetal.

#

-# Then there is Carapace Buckler that fits no stat curve in any universe whatsoever and is just overpowered without cause....

shy marlin
#

irongate doesn't do balance

gray sand
#

This isn't even balance... this is just numerical progression.
Like normal shields: Wood +18 = non-existent Bronze +18 = Iron +18 = Silver +18 = Blackmetal +18 = Carapace +18 = Flametal <- MAKES SENSE

#

Wood Tower Shield +22 = Bone +20 = Iron?? +22 = non-existent Silver +30 = Blackmetal?? +22 = non-existent Carapace +14 = Flametal?? <- Makes no sense.

#

Bronze Buckler +12 = Iron +12 = non-existent Silver +12 = non-existent Blackmetal +26 = Carapace?? <- Makes even less sense.

untold sinew

Especially because there are 3 bucklers in the game

gray sand

shy marlin

#

This isn't even balance... this is just numerical progression. (These are the same)

gray sand

Balance is parrying having massive upsides with zero drawbacks, making it objectively superior to blocking.
This is just numbers not lining up.
I do not see these as the same.

You need to find specific pickable rock from ground, at least 1000m from center and in 4 first biomes, although it has also certain altitude requirements, making it more possibly appear in meadows and black forest.
