Thank you.
I got my frostnir
my house is on the plains so dealing with these goblin fuckers is so chill now
Yea huntsman is superior. I kinda like it over mistlands bow too
I see they added a new event since I last played. If only we had gotten it when we were still in desperate need of chains.
Is there actually any use in copper knifes?
Only until you get chitin.
It is actually a huge upgrade to Flint knife.
Yeah but is it even useful when there are spears
It's almost as fast and has 3 hit combo which spears lack.
One is not better or worse than the other
Some prefer knives over spears and some prefer axes over swords.
Knives have huge backstab multiplier (6x) which can be devastating to unaware troll.
Some are completely unreasonable and bring a mistlands tier axe into the deep north
Maybe she knows something we dont
Iirc it was coolness choice of Josefin (the one who narrates Hervor).
finally killed the queen, that took a while, almost broke my lv 3 mistwalker twice lol
is desync still a thing in valheim , i have been considered getting a serverfor me and my friends
Depends how good your connections are, but there will almost always be some
About as much use as any other weapon in the game.
It kills stuff. With bronze level damage
Like lag? When I played with friends a couple years ago it was fine, though we were all on the same continent.
If youβre playing with people far away itβs probably never gonna be lag free
I always go for one, feel pretty optimal
the dundr is super cool, kinda annyoing to get a bloodstoen for each upgrade though
damn i cant type
Outta curiosity, is Valheim only on Steam? Also, anything floating around saying it may one day get ported to PS5 or something similar?
Also on Xbox and Mac, and no, no plans for it coming to PS that we know of.
Sometimes I swear Xbox gets the better end lol thanks π
π€·ββοΈ
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CANT PUT SILVER INTO A BLAST FURNACE
WHAT
Does feel rather silly

I mean you have to put it to normal smelter π
Which is kinda convenient considering which biome/stage you find silver ore...
Anyone looking to play? I'm down to join add me 61794143
Someone in #1024264966712340510 might π
Guys I can't lie, my fit is ugly af rn. Going for usefulness does not correspond with going for style
A transmute armor appearance system would be cool
Systems like that are pretty cool, but I somehow end up NEVER using them
i must say the darkwoods in the night and fog combines makes it really dark

I really hope they don't go back and over-simplify game features like so many other devs do. I like how there are diferent kinds of woods that you need to collect even in the early game. like instead of finewood it could just be a crafting addon that lets you make furnature but no its a unique resource
guys how much time were u finding yagluth
literally i explored 2 and half fallings and didnt find this
You explored two and a half what?
half cuz i explored third in about 50%
what did you explore though π₯²
Does he mean Fuling camps?
Yeah, Plains.
Yagluth is notorious for being hard to find. I have been sailing a lot to find yagluth in almost any playthrough I have been playing. I think he is the hardest to find boss in all of the game up to now. You can get lucky and spot his arena from shore while sailing by, if you don't you might have to run many plains to find him (luckyly his arena is not easy to miss if in rendering distance)
1-50 hours
okay thanks
you're better off finding the altar than the veggy
Iirc it's because the vegvisirs found in plains is around the same as in surface of earlier biomes, but since all earlier biomes have interior dungeons where you can also find vegvisirs it makes finding Yagluth much harder due to more limited numbers of them. Increasing their numbers so they could also possibly be found in the fuling villages for example would solve the issue.
The structures in plains that can have vegvisirs are also rarer than the same ones from black forest for example π (or at least it 100% feels that way π )
They definitely are. Villages should really have them too.
Oh for sure π But i was more just comparing the stone towers from BF and stonehenges in plains
Stone buildings in plains could also be the possible source of vegvisirs.
Man being wet and freezing is terrible. Actual snail's pace stamina regen
Huh rain actually overides the freezing of the mountain. So while its raining you at least can't freeze
But once the rain stops you'll be wet and freezing :/
The funniest incident on one of the servers I ran, is one player decided to go into the mountains, using camp fires. I warned him how that could turn out badly. He still did it, then a storm came, and put all his fires out. So he ran for the nearest safe area, and just as he was about to reach it, a wolf took him out. I got a good laugh at that one. I still get a good chuckle from just recalling it.
I had such friends too that would not listen to good advice. They all stopped playing because they found the game way to grindy and hard (i suspect they did not like it in the least to get rescued by little old me all the time). So now I play solo all the time and try to heed my own advice π
Returning to the swamp after getting silver gear is giving me a power trip.
Were 2 star hares and seekers always a thing? I swear after so many hours i've never ever seen those 2 until today
Yep they were π
But it must be like a 0.00001 chance right?
Probably 1% like most 2-stars
The 2-star seekers are a little harder to find since they can only spawn at night outside of certain structures
I found one in an infested mine
Orange-red glow, i immediately paused the game to ask about the 2 stars here haha
They pack a punch right? I'm thinking of parrying it
You might not be able to. The safest way to hit a seeker is jumping over and hitting it from behind.
Because of how armor works 2-star enemies are much harder to parry in the later biomes
Yeah, i might have to just keep dodging or something then
i'll be glad if my carapace spear scratches him
I've also never seen a 1* let alone 2* seeker soldier, is that also an occurence?
Yeah, a 2-star seeker soldier was the first mistlands enemy I found
I've played through the mistlands god knows how many times and i've never seen a 1* XD
But 1* regular seekers are more common for me than no star
Seeker soldiers deal less damage than regular seekers tho. π
They take a lot longer to kill, especially when you don't know about the weak spot yet
At least the starred soldiers are easier to parry than starred seekers in my experience.
Seekers deal 90-120 damage depending on the attack, seeker soldiers deal 100-120 and don't have pierce damage to be resisted by the harnesk.
Huh, it was that for soldiers too? Hasn't felt like that tbh.
It's never too late to try something new
I've tried it all, i wanted to go back to spears cause i used them in my first ever playthrough
And then quit before the mountains to switch to swords
Actually i haven't tried it all now that i think about it i still didn't touch magic :D
Yeah, I tried out magic for a couple of runs. I still much prefer melee. A couple of cool things I miss about it, mainly the protective bubble, and summoning.
Doing something similar on my permadeath run rn π
This is actually a viable strategy, but you need to use bonfires instead.
Campfires are 100% viable strategy π
does the UI change depending on what bosses you kill? My friend just pointed that out
Only UI element that changes in any relation to bosses is the forsaken power you can use, and even that you must change yourself
I heard you can resummon bosses, but I'm not able to resummon Eikthyr even though I have the 2 Deer Trophies on me.
I'm not sure why that wouldn't be working
Usually the only time you can't resummon is when the same altar is currently summoning a boss (You can have multiple alive at the same time)
put trophies in your hotbar, look at altar then click the hotbar button?
You gotta have them in your hotbar and press the corresponding hotbar button
Ah! That makes sense, then.
Yeah, my friend has always been the one to actually summon the boss each time, so I didn't know that.
Wow, The Complete Written Valheim Guide. Looks great until you start reading and it gives you a huge list of mods you need to follow the guide. Not great for beginners. Shame, as they've put so much work into it.
Where it's written?
38 Wolf meat, pretty sure that is a new record for us getting Hunted.
Definitely one of our highest in a long time.
It's on Reddit.
*The Complete Written Guide of Modded Valheim(theres a mod that removes mist from MISTlands haha)
Some people really looking for anything to remove any environmental challenges. Let me guess, is there mod listed that gives item that grants perma immunity to getting wet from rain?
Crystal Battleaxe so good..
People really be allergic to the Rested buff.
Shame it's the last one
Not just that but allergic to general preparedness for harder content, rushing to feel like raiding vikings and then getting whooped.
Sprinting everywhere instead of moving into unfamiliar areas with stamina to spare, as well...
Not being mindful of corners / otherwise just not respecting where enemies could be...
Stamina management.
i couldn't imagine not calmly walking anywhere i go
Battleaxe doesn't give you a choice with -20% speed
I also see people refuse to put their weapons on their back to retain movement speed when not fighting, which further reduces their stamina economy when they're sprinting like mad.
Once saw someone trek through a Swamp with their Battleaxe in hand the entire time.
always felt that running is affected more harshly by movement speed reduction than walking, running feels so pointless if you're weighed down a lot
i really might be wrong about that though haha
just remember testing it with heavy armor, a tower shield and 1h weapon, and running felt almost exactly as slow as walking
Fortunately we have Ratatosk tonic now.
Except I'm not allowed for that in my current run... π₯²
If Battleaxes have to suffer -20% movement, then so should Atgeirs.
-# i think they did before H&H
Atgeir buffing is insane tbh.
as a polearm main, i won't fight it :>
-10% would be good alternative for 2h weapons.
I agree
Atgeirs down to -10%
Battleaxes up to -10%
2h swords too.
(Also, perhaps a smidge of a damage buff for Battleaxe primary attacks? I love them, but the opener needs some juice imo)
i feeeel like battleaxes should be just a touch heavier than polearms, got a lot more metal on em
Their attacks are super slow already, if that helps with the fantasy.
just not as big a difference as -20% vs -5%
Level 4 Draugr Fang... Life is good...
They use almost as much metal to craft (yeah, iron battleaxe requires 35 and atgeir 30, but upgrades cost the same).
oh i didn't mean the material costs, those are all kinds of wack anyway haha
The game does have a problem with conservation of mass
and himmin afl costing silver despite not dealing any spirit damage
spine snap showing silver in its model and dealing spirit damage but not costing any
skoll and hati costing BM and iron but showing bronze (or copper?) in its model instead of iron
the list goes on
Perhaps the speed at which you craft converts some of the mass into energy
feels like mistlands specifically had their recipes partially randomized just before release
Mistlands is hell
Well, there is this historical detail about battleaxes being actually even bit lighter than regular axes they used.
Having fog in mistlands seems intentional to me
The geography is insane
Mountain foods, finally...
God, having enough stamina to use the Battleaxe even more aggressively is so nice
it is~
but i'm pretty sure the POI density is higher, and enemies' vision is also affected by the mist, so it imo feels natural to adapt to the mist by slowing down your pace of exploration
Imagine Mistlands without mist... Just Lands.
Visiblelands
Does this game have public servers or do most people just play with friends
There are no public servers but you can find a group to play with in #1024264966712340510
The best part about tech progression is having usable stamina levels.
Iirc that has been explained in that way that you use lots of resources to make stuff, but then you never need any for repairs π
You can use it comfortably with HSS food even in Swamp
I run sausage, turnip soup, and carrot soup there and have enough stamina
Don't you mean or noob?
Carrot soup over muckshake because it's easier to farm
If you can get a hold of it, ocean feast replaces carrot soup. Same stamina but 3x the health and 2.5x the duration
Heyyyy
no food at all
We dead already, why we need to eat in afterlife world?
You dont
but you are stronger if you do
There's so many new flavours in the tenth world though
D:
"Looks like meat Scales is back on the menu boys!"
We just cant let you have 4 pieces of wood and we are fine π
Is there a better way of getting carrot seeds than just running around and stumbling upon those flowers?
Nope π
But after you get the first flower you have an infinite amount of them essentially, so its not that bad π
How infinite?
Plant a carrot seed, get a carrot. Plant a carrot, get 3 carrot seeds. Not including farming skill bonuses.
Okay, I'll do that. Didn't know you could plant a grown carrot
What about blueberries? I know there's an abundance of them in the black forests but can you plant them as well or no?
No you cant
Mark down clusters to revisit later
is it a bad idea to make a farm in the plains
Nope, it is quite necessary actually π
there aint no way a deathsquito should be able to chase me into the mountians cmon
Why not?
Anything you can forage like raspberries, blueberries etc cannot be planted/farm but with only a few exceptions
which most of those exceptions are mid-late game
I marked down 4 clusters and I got 37 total
Just planted ~350 onions.
Feeling good.
Why is it necessary to make a farm in the Plains, may I ask?
Is it that Flax and Barley only grow in the Plains?
thats awesome 300~ is the sweet spot for me
past the mountains, different biomes require you to plant their respective crops exclusively in those biomes.
theres a mod that disables that but if youre running vanilla youll have to make a farm in each of the different biomes starting at the plains
We find Mistlands while looking for Yag, so of course my wife has to go in and find the blue mushrooms and start a farm and kill Hares as often as possible, with a lot of help from Deathsquittos and Lox. Can we find Yag first?
Fortunately it seems to be a small corner of the current "continent". so it has yet to spawn any seekers, etc... yet, being the key word.
I just made my self at home in the ashlands and am wondering if there is some settings i dont know about to help with the heat hase or something its giving me a headach???? any help would be amazing !
You can, as you always have been able to, just hold E.
But spaming the Button is much faster
Ngl I like going to mistlands early. Like I might go there pre-moder for some food, and I might get full mistlands gear before Yag. IMO yag doesnβt give you much to survive in the mistlands
But proper progression is nice too
Being able to see is nice for survival I think...
Wisp torches are your friends.
Bit of a blank moment here. Do placed log piles and related count as mob spawn reduction pieces? (similar to campfires and work stations)
no. Only base items. https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Player_base
cool cool, I did check but just wanted confirmation
trying to get max spawns in a deforested black forest π
and wanting to save the wood
For sure, but even after defeating Yag, visibility is quite low. And Mistlands is kinda built up around you not needing to see anything other than what's immediately next to you
There's also pockets of mistlands with no mist
I might be the luckiest mf ever
I just randomly found the mountains boss spawn altar right next to my mountains base w/o a wayfinder
nice
This saves so much time it's insane
Mountain boss can sometimes be pretty hard to find, especially without a wayfinder
I am grinding mob drops atm I wanna get the full wolf armor set
Wolf armor is tanky af
But despite being a snail I live for speed
I am planning to get both
but I love the design of wolf
Oh and then I found a wayfinder like 5 mins later LOL
I am very much a fan of mixing and matching armors for max benefit
which makes for terrible aesthetics
Is there a way to modify spawn rates on mobs?
Not without mods, pretty sure
You can just make them stronger and tankier, or make raids trigger more often
Sadge cus I rly don't wanna modify the rates items are obtained
Looking for wolf drops?
There's a drake raid. Could up raid rate and maybe have a drake raid come by
Probably more hassle than just hunting them though. That said specifically trophies I believe are unaffected by drop rate multiplier
Mark their nests and revisit them every now and then.
I'm at about the same spot in progression as you and got lucky af, got 2 drake trophies after killing 8 drakes
On average you'd have to kill 40
Mine some silver in between nest raids, that seem to attract a lot of drakes too.
The nests are only one time spawns π after you kill them the first time there isnt any higher chance for them to be there than anywhere else on the mountain π
The eggs respawn after some time, but drakes don't.
Spear is my favorite weapon in the game. Super cheap to make and upgrade. High damage. Doesn't rely on comboes so you don't need to be afraid of losing out on damage or getting too greedy in damage windows. Staggers easily due to high damage and a lack of a combo.
The throw is super versatile. Outclassed by bows but tbh what isn't
Only thing is that they're pierce damage which is kinda meh
Oh also you build spear skill faster than any other melee weapon I believe. Knives might be close but I think spear levels up fastest
I want to get on the spear train but I always fear launching it into the mists while throwing it.
Yeah keeping track of it and knowing its physics in mistlands and mountain is important.
But even just as a melee weapon its great
If they don't give me MOAR FISTS then I will consider it on my next playthrough. π«‘
And the ability to lose it might be why it is so cheap to make/upgrade.
I'd more think its because a spear physically requires less of the important materials. Like a sword you need to craft a full blade out of metal. For a spear its just the tip
Ahh the old "just the tip" adage.
They were historically much cheaper to make for mass infantry.
Also axes, versus swords which were for more richer and in higher hierarchy.
No-one is clicking that.
I did because I'm a BOD MON.
I mean as a first playthrough I think it defeats the purpose of the game to remove stuff like that but if youβve played a lot and youβre looking to change things up I donβt see an issue.
I've been decorating a place recently, and trying to fit all of the trophies in a reasonable area around the building. But good god, why is the bone maw trophy SO big?!?! it looks awkward, and out of place almost no matter how you place it. It's bigger than the queen, and fader.
Big boi needs space
i thought the game got rid of the flamemetal sinking ?
I think they reduced the chance a lot. Like now itβs only a 1% chance per pickaxe hit for it to sink. Or something like that
i hit it once ... then got attacked by birds and by the time i was done killin the birds it was in the lava π
Best clear out the area first
Also if you got a good pickaxe, pickaxe skill, and queen power you can one shot the flammetal deposits which might help
any 1 have a server i can join
It sure seems like they love to respawn around the egg sites, but I definitely have been finding drakes far more than wolves. Except when we get hunted. I have to admit, when you get 20 to 39 wolves per hunt, it sure feels like it makes up for how few there are, otherwise.
I think this community has requirements for people to see all the channels. Because spammers suck. I forget what they are, since I have been "here" since nearly the beginning.
im not sure what that means but ill try some wheres else hard to find people to play with
They can see that channel, just not able to find a group to join. I have seen them post in the lfg section
Not a lot of people like to read the community rules or the channels and roles info.
You can try other Valheim social media pages. Sometimes there are server host ppl recruiting for players.
Looks like they just reached out to a group, I would guess it could take some time to get a response π€
i been looking i was palying with my sister but she cant play so i was hoping to find otehrs its not as fun by yourself
I typically skip bonemass to avoid the wolf raid π
big agree there, defs best with friends
im not the best a discord haha i find it hard to navigate
wbu you robert are you playiong with a group of freinds alreaduy?
We do well at finding silver. We have apparently been playing for so long we can just tell when its a "good spot" to dig, so find a fair number of veins. Like this last time, we had Frostner at lvl 3, so Bonemass was pretty easy to take down.
Yeah I feel like silver is plentiful enough in the mountains. As long as you're high enough you don't need a wishbone or stagbreaker
So bonemass drop being useless, bonemass power being too op for me to bother using, and bonemass activating an annoying af raid when you're on a max raid rate, makes him an easy skip for me
Yeah, its gotten to the point where I didn't swing Stagbreaker or the Sledge a single time to find silver. We do like getting the wishbone to find all the iron randomly buried in the swamps.
Is there much iron outside the crypts though? Feels like its just one scrap pile here and there, and sometimes you can't even mine the whole thing due to water
It seems to vary from swamp to swamp, and the water is often a huge pain for getting it all.
Depends on the swamp but not really a whole lot as far as I have found. Mostly super handy if you need to get some quick iron for like a stone cutter somewhere away from your main supply.
I wish treasure hunting would actually be worth it. It's a pretty cool concept, even when its having you go back to meadows and you realize those little rock formations actually carry goodies underneath
You certainly are not going to get huge numbers like you can inside of crypts, or later, in Mistlands.
Like you have to dig? Or you just mean like the random jewel or coins sitting on the found under them?
Oh man, Mistalands iron is broken lol awesome discovery taking the big bridges apart
have to dig down in some (or all?) of the stone circles in the meadows and there's a box with valuables
With the 3 vendors, we are finding having coin much more worth it. Like my wife LOVES the feasts you can make with stuff you get from the witch. I have to admit, I am growing to like them as well, Having food that lasts for 50 minutes is rather nice.
Heck yeah, plus they look great for decor!
Yep, my wife loves the candles for that reason too.
I still need to really try out the feasts
Yeah, I knew about the circles but I meant more like the stone stacks that look like they should been a chamber entrace
Don't think those have treasure
If he is talking about what I think he is, they occasionally have coins, pearls and amber sitting on the one stone. I mainly like those for easy bones.
They useful.
I have defs found some gold/amber under them
Not every single one, but sometimes it's just bones
Which ones are you talking about? I only know about the ones shaped like an outline of a boat for digging under. The stones that spawn skeletons at night have the loot sitting on top of that one stone.
There can also be fire arrows.
Ocean feast as early as swamp tier is like HS food in the space of one slot, it's awesome
lemme see if I can find a pick online or something
I am curious if feasts will sort of mess up a challenge I'm doing this run.
I guess I'll have to see when I get to them
We have yet to get the ocean recipe. Heck, we just got the mountain recipe due to beating Moder.
Have you ||killed a serpent||?
Litterally just yesterday. We have not had to sail to get to all the bosses, so far. We have yet to find Yag, so we may end up sailing around for him, but we also found Mistlands yesterday, so my wife has had us playing around in there, instead of looking for Yag. π
wife is brave lol I don't go near Mistlands without my lil mistlight
We didn't even get it from sailing, we were literally fishing on shore when it popped up.
I prefer to call her crazy, but we can go with brave.
I'm sure she loves that
She sounds like a real one in any case
She seems to take pride in being crazy.
I will say some weapons are pretty impressive in mistlands. Like skipping from mountains to mistlands, frostner or fleshrippers will tear up seekers
Fleshripper kick I believe insta staggers them if they're not starred
Okay, so the wiki says they are called Dolmen
I've never actually used the flesh rippers, I prefer a ranged approach to combat lol
You gotta try them Rippersβ’.
I'm the opposite heh π
I've had to ban bows from my playthrough
I would be devastated lmao
Huh, I never found anything above ground with those, so yeah, I guess we need to try digging now. π
I play pretty hardcore on my playthroughs, actual masochist stuff
Those are rare compared to all the other stone features.
Permadeath, no op weapons like bows and atgeirs, no resistance meads, blabla
I'm not into hardcore lol am too terrible at combat for that ]
I did not think they were rare, I see them all over the place in the meadows, sometimes in the black forest
I played before we could adjust the difficulty, so I stopped doing dodge rolls and parry because they made the game too easy. Now I don't do them due to ingrained habit.
I think I have maybe rolled like twice in all my 1800+ hours lmao
I don't see them nearly as often as the ones with the skeletons, or the boats.
I actually see the "crashed" boats a lot less than the Dolmen structures
I stopped doing them in my first hundred hours or so, and I am at about 4500 now. So its been a long time.
4500! Makes me feels so green lmao
I still rarely die. Think I have died 5 or 6 times this play through, and I am not even trying to do zero deaths. Can't do that while playing with my wife. She gets me into too much crazy stuff.
Cause she is the ballsy one eh
I ran server for a while, so got in a LOT of play time.
Crystal Battleaxe is quite good too because it staggers them seekers easier, even thought they resist physical damage.
Ballsy, crazy, same thing.
Brave!
I love that battle axe, So fun to use. I hate it when I put it away.
No food perma when
No food!? Nutty
Well, you are talking to someone who appears to love being a vampire, so....
Eh sounds a bit boring to me
And probably also too tough for me if I keep the rest of my challenges, which I want to keep because theyβre a lot of fun
does anyone have a link to the wind schedule?
Only way to regain hp is thru pots, 25hp, 50 stam is boring?
They used to be pinned in the help channel. Probably still are.
Currently this is what Iβm playing on and so far I enjoy it. May have to add some berserker mead or feast restrictions idk. Havenβt really tried those systems much yet

Hey looking for someone to play with. Anyone interested dm.. I have mic for discord
#1024264966712340510 is probably your best way to find people.
One magic food allows for staff of prot which kinda ruins it imo, unless your banning staff of prot
That Staff is hard to give up. The only thing that really tempts me to do magic. The summoning is a close second.
Just got my staff of protection to level 4 the other day. 4 minute bubble π«§
You could use Crystal battleaxe in Ashlands still, the extra spirit damage is useful against Charred.
Thats one thing that kind of irritates me, not one weapon type works well through the entire game. Like clubs/maces are great all the way through plains, but then you have to vary it up. Even bow starts to suck with all the pierce resistance.
is the drake bow mandatory for mountains boss cus I rly like my huntsman
no
Haven't fully made my mind up. Haven't tried this challenge before so we'll see when I get to mistlands.
Generally a lot of my playthrough centers around just not cheesing and overabusing stuff though, so even with one eitr food I wouldn't be spamming staff of proc. But I do find it fun using staff of protection to parry attacks, especially when I'm using weapons that are less effective at parrying like knives (not sure how they do on Hard, but I know they felt useless to parry with on Vhard)
Huntsman works just fine with Moder.
Huntsman is fine. Melee weapons are fine
Ill then use spear + hunstman
Huntsman is great. It is more silent bow than any other.
Does the game ever hint at that?
The Eikthyr power is my favorite for Moder. Gives me plenty of stamina for chasing her around the rocks. π
It isn't visible in its properties.
Not really, which sucks
They should prolly change that
I figured a pretty good strat to silver mining due to how lucky I got
I think only the wiki points things like that out.
I just take down a vein, put everything into a cart next to downhill and go to the next one.
In the end just go downhill back to base
How much silver do you need?
I still need around 400 ish
I suppose you did say you were making the armor and sword, that is quite a drain
I usually get by on like one silver vein maybe two
Depends on how much you want to max out, as usual.
I am not planning to max my armor
This seems so simple yet so brilliant to me and I am baffled at never thinking of it myself
Just the sword spear and hammer
Iron though, now that's a grind.
Especially when you need ||balistae and beartraps|| guarding your base
I was about to fight The Elder and then a thunderstorm started
I rather enjoy getting iron in the Mistlands. Especially when we tear down the bridges, etc...
The community here has made me like the game a lot more too, whenever I have something to ask yall are so nice
Each boss has a unique weather environment so theyβll all cancel rain except for Bonemass who forces it.
bonemass the bane of my existence
Bonemass was the easiest boss for me
Those new meads look nice. I think we have made all of them, so far. We have yet to catch all the types of fish, so maybe not.
I think the only time I really hate rain is in the mountains
Kinda in mistlands too but at least by then you have good movement and stamina
Like, I died more to Eithkyr than him
i HATE fighting bonemass hes easy to cheese but ion really like cheesing bosses
With bonemass I tend to just kinda tank all his poison. And then dodge his slaps
But he's how I raise my bow skill until we get practice targets!
I really like the mead for running. What is it? +10 to skill and a 15% bonus?
Last time I fought Bonemass I didnβt move from where he spawned
I half dodge, half tank his poison and half parry, quarter roll, and quarter tank the slaps
That sounds amazing. I gotta find me these meads (find bog witch, I suppose)
Bonemass was super chill I just 1v1d him and drank healing potions
Yeeyee, I loooove sprinting in games lol so the speedy mead is proly my fave addition
Boss 4 is when things start getting tough imo
That boss has some high numbers behind its attacks
Yep, she sells the key ingredients for a lot of cool things. I think you need two perch for the mead.
so Moder is a skill check?
Moder spends a lot of time in the air, so she is a rather different fight than all the previous bosses.
A bit. Her attacks aren't too hard to dodge (depending on how heavy armor and weapons you're using) and you can just engage at range, but if she does hit you its an oof
When I was playing on Vhard it was definitely the fight I had to prepare the most for. Had to absolutely maximize bonusses gained from armor and food, and go I think triple health food to be able to just barely survive her highest damage attack
On regular difficulty obviously not as bad, but it still hurts
Its why I prefer the Eikthyr power for Moder. A LOT of running to get to her for melee.
First power gotten in the game = Best power in the game π
Definitely the one I use the most, by far.
I use bonemass more since I like light armor and high stam lol the bonemass has gotten me outta some sticky situations.
Moder is kinda unique too because the game is set up to where you can actually skip all the bosses and progress through the game just fine, except Moder who really hard locks a lot of things
I don't think Mistlands boss locks much but tbh haven't played Ashlands since release
I think Moder is still the only one to hard lock foods and gear.
ye
Let's see if Deep North changes things
I could totally see people killing Moder then skipping to DN
I mean, Mistlands is kind of a hard lock for me too, because I have a lot of vision issues before you add in the mists.
Althuogh I feel like iron gate would put a fairly hard lock in place there, either through genuinely tough survivability without the drop, or outright locking stuff
You don't like using wisp torches?
We are talking about boss skipping, but yeah, I love the torches and my wisp.
I just rely super heavily on hearing in mistlands, or if things get bad I'll retreat to a mistfree area to fight (I usually try to mentally map out where mist free areas are)
Yeah I got the context, just pointing out you can solve any vision issues with wisp torches.
I rely on hearing in every biome. Its often why I know an attack is coming.
Yes! Sound queues are so important
When I ran servers, it shocked me how few people listened for the sounds.
Animations are far more reliable in my experience.
Friends were over for a party one night so there was obvs some beverages involved. I don't indulge so I was stone cold sober but my one friend hopped on my husband comp to try playing in our Valheim server for a little bit but his headset was too big for her and she died SO many times just cause she couldn't hear
Sounds are the only consistent way to tell if a charred warrior is feinting
Also, I can crank up Wardruna while playing
Just double block everytime though
Visual is not enough if a baddie is coming up behind you
I've never been able to tell feints. But I've also never missed a parry against a feint
I just block when it looks like they're gonna attack, and if its a feint I just release the block key and press again bc they're gonna follow up with a real attack afterwards anyways
Double block is sub optimal π€·ββοΈ
For me it is π€·ββοΈ
Only when you see them. You can always hear the enemy. If your listening. I do tend to be zoomed out a lot as well. So sound is better in tombs and caves, since we can't be zoomed out in those.
The charred warrior swing feint has a 8 second cooldown while all their other attacks are 3 seconds so if they did a swing feint recently and start another swing it has to be the normal one.
What if you are walking around in the mist, no light, stark naked, no weapons, trying to retrieve your death marker with all your gear in it and you wanna avoid running into the crawlers?
Getting shot by a Gjall from behind because you weren't listening hurts
Always listen up kids
Sound helps me a LOT in the Mistlands. With seekers, soldiers, and gjall.
What happens when you double block Lord Reto?
Or just clear mist with torches and survey the areas surrounding you on height
Heck, sounds have helped me not kill Dvergrs. π I get rather jumpy in the Mistlands.
His animations are even more telling, they were talking about charred warriors
I still need to try and make my fantasy of recruiting a 2 star ice mage to defend my ashalnds base come true
Likely a mod for that. π They seem to make mods for everything. Not that I have used them for Valheim. Still mod free. Except for that one server. They didn't believe I died so little, so tracked all our deaths.
Haters
Nah mods are too easy. I need to figure out doing it the vanilla way
Do they get pissed when you harpoon them? π€
I'm gonna try to make a lot of creative defenses on this max raids run
None of these trenches and earth walls
Yeah, shockingly Valheim is still a lot of fun for my wife and I in full vanilla.
Yea. I'm guessing I'd have to get them into a cart and then into a boat. And then build something at my base where he can shoot from but can't move out of. Lil' wizards tower
I have like zero experience moving mobs with boats though. It sounds like a very painful experience
It can be a huge pain in the arse. I am so happy when I can get them back home by land.
What about catapult?
No feather cape so probably wouldn't make it out of the hot water even if you could launch them with it. π€
Interesting thought. But yeah just not enough range
Maybe for short distance travel
Eh, they became believers. π I died like 8 times, next closest was in their 30's.
hunted 6 Serpens
question: When is the North being released?
kind of wanted more but i took a bit to long to find them
No one knows, my guy.
thx
You bet.
I am now the proud owner of the elder trophy
Hell yeah!
Whatcha gonna do with it?
I hung it up at spawn for the boost
That's the best use of it!
It was a pretty easy boss fight honestly. Never dropped below 50 hp and my max was like 90
Easy fight or godlike player?
Maybe "godlike player" because I scared off a troll right before the fight. I shot it twice and it ran away
Your reputation precedes you
Probably forgot the stove was on.

what does the love potion even do
Shoots troll with fire arrow
"AAAAHHH I'm on fire!! - wait, that reminds me. Did I turn the stove off?"
returns home to realize his troll baby and troll wife are now just charred bodies in his home. The rest of his home is untouched because it's made of rock
Increases Troll spawns.
why would be that a thing
Honestly no clue other than maybe a way to farm gold?
A couple choices made in this game got me scratching my head but that's also why I love it.
money π°
π°
Yeah. That's probs what I'll use it for. Unless they come up with another use for blue leather.
Wait there's a ghost and wraith raid?
Ye.
huh never had that one
Bog witch addition
My fave because the || chains || just show up at my door.
ah that's why
Hello, fellow vikings!
Hello hello
some dead people come to you just to die again
Like us then.
Free chain delivery
Yeah, its new. As in added in the last year. I never saw it before this past week. Chain delivery service...
Yeah seems like a cool raid. Sadly I won't experience it this run cuz I'm skipping bonemass
Bonemass unlocks it? IE defeating him? Makes sense. When are they going to do the Abomination raid? Seems like everything else in the swamps gets a raid...
Wraith trophy is so damn cool tho
My big issue with bonemass is he just perma unlocks so many raids. Mostly annoying ones
And being on max raid rate I wanna be pretty selective with what raids I unlock. Don't feel like getting raided by bats and skeletons constantly when I'm at Ashlands progression
My wife loves those ooze bombs, so loves that pig skin.
Feels weird that they would leave the Swamp. Same with Stone Golems.
Battleaxe is really good against the wolf raid
Atgeir too, but at the same time it's broken against basically everything
Wolves always raid me while I'm in the Plains for some reason so I just run to a Lox pack and let them battle it out.
My wife and I constantly get cross biome fights going. Shocking how fast Lox trash abominations.
It's always fun getting a wolf raid and then just sitting back as you watch a fuling village, a tar pit, and a wild pack of wolves causing carange
Run them into fuling villages. Its how we get 39 wolf meat from one Hunt. π
Dude cross biome fights are so fun. I also love that on higher difficulty mobs have more damage and you have less damage, so you can really see the difference between you trying to take something down versus enlisting some help
The worst part though is the rare occassion when you bring a troll to fight a stone golem, only to re-remember that they're bros
Yeah it is: #memes-and-clips message (sharing shamelessly).
We found out 1 star trolls can beat abominations consistently. That was surprising.
Unless it's ||trollstav||
Nice that we found that out before we had iron axes for meleeing the abominations.
Battleaxe > iron axe
Trolls and abominations have pretty similar stats. To a player I'd say a troll is more dangerous than an abomination
and why is that
Why do you think someone would click a random TikTok link?
why wouldnβt they
Well, most of us aren't 12 and don't do TikTok but more importantly no-one is going to click a video without knowing what it was. If it was legit you'd have posted it in an appropriate channel.
you saying iβm 12? π€£
people do tiktok
maybe not 60yo but normal people usually have tiktok
I don't believe I said that, no.
The point is that it's stupid in general to click random links from complete strangers on the internet
itβs a tiktok video π
Of what?
wrh40k
Then it has no place here.
Re-read what I said. Slowly if needed
what do you try to achieve by convincing us to click on this video
i ainβt tryna convince nobody yβall be trippin
https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202174832729661470 would be place for that (for non-Valheim related stuff), but without clarifying what it is most won't click it.
yβall 45
No one should click random links. Period.
How is age related to that?
But all those techs need people to get their computers and phones bricked by all those random virus'...
Who's nephew is this
Gamer gaming
One small loan of 700 silver
Well it's gonna be 40 for the armor, 90 + 150 for both weapons
How much does a silver vein give, like 150?
Damn less than I expected
cus I am switching right back to the root harnesk once I am done with the mountain stage
Yeah 80 is so low. π
Yup, harnesk will carry you through every biome except like meadows/black forest/mountain
Even in Mountain it sometimes has its uses though
83,3 ores is average based by Wiki.
It's not much but it's honest work
I am just going to clear the 2 dungeons I found and then right into moder
after I get my weapons
The frost caves?
Yeah
Love those.
Smelting all this ore takes ages
You killed their family and raided their tower. That's why #screenshots message
Either gotta set up a shit ton of smelters,
Or smelt as a side task.
I prefer doing it as a side task
I expand my housing usually on the side
We build up to 5 smelters and 4 kilns. Then go down to two smelters when we have the blast furnaces.
You always need coal, so we keep the kilns.
I thought fenris was the goat because speed
im 19 π€£
wolf raids are nice cus you can capture and tame them in any biome
Their howling used to give me sanity issues. Fortunately they toned that way back.
if u don't need armor yea
Of course now you have the speed mead.
speed mead is crazy
Not that crazy. I think you still top out at 100 skill, not sure about the speed itself.
15% movement speed is crazy
Well, my run and jump are both above 70, so I feel its already pretty crazy even before a mead, or a suit.
Even in heavy armor.
320 silver after 4 hours of mining
Bro is on the grind
Great set.
God I love this game
I thought nothing could compare to Elden Ring and Terraria but here we are
Yeah, there are a lot of other games I probably should like better, but I don't. My wife is even more hard core about it.
Same, I've settled for many cool indie games, including Valheim.
Enshrouded is another one growing on me, but its game play is very familiar... to Valheim.
The world lore is very different and intriguing.
It feels so rewarding to get new gear in Valheim
Cus you put in so much effort but the feel when you can go toe to toe with the enemies feels amazing
I cant wait for plains tbh cus there its just combat
i beat fader, i should be free.... yet i still want to play valheim.......
Sounds like it's time for another playthrough
With different weapons!
i'm nervous about my no metal no armor perma run lol
i'm in the easy biomes rn so i'm cruisin but i feel like ashlands is gonna rock my world for a few runs
Wait, it's no armor now? I thought it was just no metal
yea I one shot no metal perma
Can't wait for the no inventory perma
π no way that's possible
You can't even summon bosses lol
Hotbar only might count but in many cases that would just be more slow than difficult.
if hotbar was allowed you'd have to add some other difficulty factors in yea
Low% would be an interesting category
Beat all the bosses with the fewest number of items entering your inventory and the fewest crafting stations possible
Whole lotta punching I'd imagine
Iβd assume that with the later bosses punching doesnβt do enough damage to outpace the healing
ye
I used to have the numbers but I think yag is when you can't outpace passive hp regen
Fader is technically doable to fist down but that's whole other meme
release new update now
Alright Irongate time to release combat update this guy said so
thats right
How would the items be ranked for low%? Would 5 items commonly accessible in a lower biome be better or worse than 1 item in a later biome?
ooo that's interesting
Or would it be 1 item entering the inventory for the first time = 1 "point"
And could you reuse items, for example the classic recycling 20 stone and 5 cores for a smelter and a kiln
I've never loved a single game so much that i had to artificially handicap it to play it instead of just playing a different game. I admire the dedication
The trick is to play multiple games while you do challenge runs in one game
Avoid burn out and keeps ya fresh
I'm doing Celeste goldens while playing other stuff, so I can relate to that
Same thing when I was grinding radiant absrad in hollow knight
I need to play hollow knight
Oh, you'd love that game I bet
The challenge runs you can do in that game are insane
I'm thinking each raw item that enters the inventory for the first time would be 1 point. Derivative products (deconstruction returns from a piece you made, smelting results, etc.) don't count towards the total. This would make it more fun to min-max crafting recipes and workstations imo
And you won't have to build one workstation and constantly run back to it to do stuff because of a 10 point deduction for deconstructing it and reclaiming the items
Maybe farming crops should be a deduction though
probably a boolean on the object itself
The thing is, if you put 2 coal and 1 ore into a smelter, that would be 4 items (2 coal, 1 ore, and 1 ingot) by this definition.
hello :D
Maybe the reason we canβt tame necks is because they photosynthesise with their lily pads instead of eating foodβ¦
what are necks? ;o
βοΈ
these creatures that spawn in meadows biomes
@summer hinge can confirm β€οΈ
what happens if you log off in a boat
The boat will still be there when you come back unless someone else is on the server and moves it
so youll awake in a boat?
The tastiest creatures in all da lands of valheim
π
Weβre not doing this again
If the boat hasn't moved.
k ty
Are you crazy? Clearly the Dragur are the tastiest otherwise we wouldnβt be making sausage out of their innards
Would intestines be the tastiest if we need to fuse it with thistle and boar meat?

Nah, greydwarf shamans are the tastiest
Have you tried the stuff that Morgen hoard?
The puking confirms it
The proper channel would be #1024264966712340510 π
Yes
So not here.
A big thank you to the person who made the sounds for the Deathsquito for not making them sound like actual mosquitos

Someone in another server just called me a cheater for using 2x Resource Rate in a world where 5 people are playing :^)
I agree, I am cheating.
God forbid I want more resources to build with :^)
Although if the others aren't using the extra resource setting I can see where their problems arise
But yeah no, I don't understand their logic. Like... I tried explaining to them we use 2x to cut down on the grind that inevitably shows up when you need to kit out 5 whole players, but
they just weren't getting it.
One could argue that decreased grinding = less playtime on that world
you get through everything quicker and then what? new world again?
There's definitely a sweet spot between grind and burn out though.
My fully afk greydwarf farm is allowing me to make my first castle-esque build π
Plus, I use a lot of resources for decorating, so it's nice to have spare on hand, even with 4 other pairs of hands rumaging through our storage hall.
My function must also have form.
The game is balanced around 1 player, good luck getting enough iron for 5 people on 1x
Ashlands gems for 5 people π
Me whenever someone does something that mildly inconveniences me
Other than Ashlands I feel like there's enough resources for 5 players
But not any more than that, and you gotta explore like the whole map
going for 2x is totally reasonable
One good thing about my wife messing around in the Mistlands early, we have the Lightfoot mead. Helps with all the jumping you do.
MAge caps and Hare hide with a bunch of feathers.
I have to admit...Some times, I kinda miss the crazy Ashlands spawn ratio from the first beta test updates. Where was almost impossible to advance without cheezy methods
Was never impossible
Fun fact: When people are first diving into content everyone is bad at it
Takes time to master a biome and rather than sink some time and learn how to navigate the biome, lets just complain and have the biome get nerfed π
Same thing happened with Mistlands, same thing will probably happen with Deep north
In a game with my friend, telling him about early build Ashlands is like telling him war stories π
Early mistlands even moreso. Theres more creatures roaming around in the meadows than the mistlands
It kinda makes sense for fulings to circle as they resemble some intelligence but seekers seem pretty primal and wolf ai just makes more sense
Dont understand why 80% of the mobs in this game need to walk in circles after a few attacks
Golems, Lox, seekers, gjalls, asksvins, all do it
First cultist kill on this world. Got a trophy π
Because people complain when mobs get too aggressive and the game gets too hard
is there a good dark red light source?
NGL I'd love to see some big mods getting made, but I feel like everyone focuses on QoL stuff mainly because one single update and it fucks with all of the mods and QoL stuff is just easier and faster to fix
Probably get more modded takes after the game is finalized
What were the nerfs for mistlands after lots of people complained?
In the 10th realm, mob kite you!
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Version_History#0.212.9 few of the nerfs are here
'they sought you out' nerfed to the ground π its just a mistlands version of eikthyr rallies creatures of the forest now
nerfed gjall and soldier spawn, soldier no longer in sought you out raid, and gjall fires one at a time instead of the same time
Seeker AI change (they were more aggressive, now they circle after few attacks), Gjall shooting 1 projectile (thankfully it was reverted back to 2 and they're less messy), Seeker raid was nerfed by removing Soldier spawns and it cannot be triggered in meadows.
Oh I thought gjall shoot two fireballs at the same time
also way less seekers too so its literally just 2 seekers and some babies wandering around
its way less dangerous than raids that occur earlier like the horde attacks and you are being hunted
They do, it was nerfed at one point but reverted back to 2.
I mean its the 2nd hardest biome as of rn so it should be hard
#suggestions message Shamelessly sharing regarding to seeker raid.
The "They were bros" raid is harder since they are starred
a thumbsup fr
I didnt get to experience the full mistland raids since I mostly got previous raids
Especially now since we have the option to set raids off it would be good to revert it back to its previous glory.
yeah, the mistlands ones both only trigger in mistlands which is quite lame
oh i think sought you out happens in plains? but not everyone builds big projects in the plains and you might just get skeletons or bats or other useless raids instead
Seeker raid can trigger in others than meadows, swamp and mountain.
I can kinda of understand the frustration for the mistlands so the nerfs were inevitable since the mistlands at that time were all new content to everyone after the release
The first time I got to the mistlands I had no trouble at all navigating the mistlands
Mistlands Seeker event tweaked (It will no longer trigger in Meadows, Swamps, Mountains or Ocean. It will no longer spawn Seeker Soldiers and the amount of Seekers & Broods has been rebalanced)
apparently it can happen in forest? haven't seen that yet.
anyway its such a harmless raid now i dont see why it can't just happen at any point
reverted maybe deep north update
we can pray. its currently quieter than the meadows
only positive really is free royal jelly delivery
has the ashland raids got any nerfs?
free carapace, free jelly, free seeker meat; offers more than bat raid or skeleton raid
those ones i wish were just deleted
For the skeleton I wouldnt want them gone
free blocking skill level up
What even is the raid for swamp
draugrs and skeletons rushing you while you are in bronze gear
a good challenge on high difficulties
ends at bonemass and turns into blob raid which is iron delivery so im ok with that one
The problem with raids is that enemy destructive capacity advances throughout the game but if a player wants to build several structures across the map theyβre expected to upgrade all of them to their current best defensive material, even in the starter areas. Raids are bad enough in no map no portal, so I think having raid destructive capacity plateau in the latter half of the game compensates for the increasingly extraneous effort needed to invest into upgrading the existing infrastructure the player has already built.
Ah I mistaken the blobs raid as the swamps main raid since well bonemass is literally just a giant blob
i disagree, log trolls are always going to be the most destructive
these cleave through your walls and devastate all your crops, bushes, trees and wooden structures in 1 sweep
nothing has been done to nerf them so i dont see why seeker soldier had to be removed
270-300 dmg, yes I tested they can like 7 hit a stone wall
moreso anything not stone or near the stone just gets 1 tapped
anyways, builders have the option to completely disable raids. so why do we need to nerf them
If im not mistaken summoned troll and normal troll is the same is just that they have different weakness and the other having more hp
Nope.
its just skeleton garbage v1 and skeleton garbage v2, where's the asksvin or morgen raid :/
or vultures even lols
Still, they can now be disabled. Most people don't usually play no map no portal.
Me watching the Morgen roll into my buildings happily
Would a no nap make a difference if you still have portals
yah maybe not morgen raid he's a bit destructive
but voltures would be fine.
'they thirst for blood'
watches a flock of angry chickens come flying towards you
egg delivery!
and volture meat delivery
mashed meat
don't ever use that tbh the pies are better if doing health food
People underestimate the destructive Morgen rolls eh?
Free meat, eggs and feathers. π
Oh they do, they are really destructive
Not at all. Valkyries also are quite destructive.
he's just excited! stop hating on him. its not his fault he was born destructive!
But the valkyrie is more f- destructive especially when shes on top of your base
I literally ask them to chop Ash trees and mine Grausten
gotta respect the energy of rolling side to side happily when you finally see a fight
The asksvins tho...
Sounds like "Aww he just wants to play!" about a pitbull.
yes!! i love morgens they're so kind. they kill everything else that's already trying to kill me π€£
Greg the pitbull asksvin vs that one neck that wondered into your base
by law asksvins should not attack necks π
they should pick them up on their back and take them away
Asksvins are so destructive when you have an army π
Which is why I keep them in pen they cannot escape. π
I have not bred an asksvin army yet since my ashland base is on a fort with ballistas on all sides set to target all
so theyd die to the ballistas before they could do anything
Spot the og 2star
Ashy?
Yes
I cant normally get out of the pen so I have to break the laws of physics and phase through the asksvins just to get out
It's not really a comparison. Soldiers deal nearly double the damage of a log troll (their stomp hits twice so technically 4x the damage), and they have triple the HP.
But their attacks cover way less area than troll attacks π
yes? and are also way slower
you have to realize at that point in the game a player can instantly kill a troll. The same can't be said about the soldier especially with seeker backup.
Enemies only destroy your base if you let them, just walk outside during a raid.
i doubt they were born destructive, everything in ashlands was once in a pretty chill kingdom driven mad, no?
havent played in awhile but thats what i remember lol
That is true for the charred at least, we dont have any lore info where the morgens came from i believe π
ah okay! my apologies
yo guys. i have seen a couple of videos on youtube recently with titles such as end of Valheim and it's over and such, implying that after deep north there is not gonna be any updates anymore.
is it confirmed by the devs ?
like i know DN is gonna be the last biome, but no update to improve the game overall after that ?
Either along with or shortly after Deep North release the game will officially release. After that they said they're not adding any huge content updates (like more biomes and such)
They said they'd still do updates, but I don't think they've been 100% clear on what that meant. Likely just quality and life stuff and maybe a tiny bit of content here and there? Like bog witch size updates or something
yo guys new here was thinking about getting valheim. never watched nor played it so wanted to know if its a good buy rn
ah ok cool !
was kinda getting sad about it xD
i love the game and recommend it
It's a good buy. Enjoy.
Worth every penny
If you like survival games you'll like valheim
Game isnβt designed with world modifiers on
Designed to make you suffer
jk
Wait scales on your no food run was your raid modifier cranked up to thr max?
Just more
m raids
helloo
Hey there.
If anyone likes doing challenge runs, I just wanted to put out there that "no resistance meads" is a pretty fun challenge. Gotta make more important choices in what armor to use if you want to benefit from resistances, such as full fenris if you want fire resist for fighting yag, and you can't easily nullify weaknesses like root harnesk fire weakness. Also makes Yag power actually relevant
I personally use it along with other challenges
very good game to go into blindly
Why not "no meads" at all?
downloading rn wondering how its going to be
One could do that too if you want a harder time. I donβt find it fundamentally changes much in your choices though, just adds some difficulty
That's my current challenge, accompanied with no powers, no Harnesk and no sleep.
Sounds like a fun time
No armor no metal
π€
No wasd
No monitor
No electricity
use tower shields
Shame pickaxes are two-handed so we can't run pickaxe + tower shield
Yup lost me
Start the game permanently harpooned to a 2 star Gjall
Serious suggestions only please @nocturne wolf
Doable
haloooo
heyoooo
Wow, I actually really enjoy using the Trolstav, pretty neat!
The Dundr Iβm struggling to get the hang of, but I still need to play around with it some more π€
Dundr is very fun. Not nearly as strong as trolstav but fun to play around with
Iβm excited to use it- also have to make a staff of the wilds, guess I forgot about it lol
Still finding myself using the staff of embers and frost a lot, which is nice. Classic reliable weapons π€
when i started playing i remember summoning 2 trolls in my base saying "daaaaamn this staff is siiiiiiiiiickkk"
10 minutes later i was making other world
2 shot for Morgen after parrying before the shots.
βοΈ
Wow, 2 shot a morgen?? Thatβs pretty impressive! Iβll have to try it out now
Oh thatβs right, theyβre weak to lightning π‘
Yeah its the one enemy in Ashlands where it feels damn good to use a dundr
Still I think lightning axes might be faster, but definitely not as stylish
Wow, pretty impressive π€
How does it do against a valk?
Been a while since I was in the Ashlands but its decent against valks. Basically anything that's a big target / very close is good, bc all the projectiles can hit. Trying to hit charred or something is rough because they're so small though
Still its definitely less damage on a valk compared to a morgen, as valk takes 1x and morg takes 1.5x
It deals fine. π
when collecting sap do you need to stay around the tree or can you leave and come back
you can leave.
The roots run out of sap, I like to switch the collectors to different roots initially
yeah i switch every time but if the root is still glowing
how many collectors do you have on each root?
The roots recharge, so keep that in mind with your planning.
i put 5 in each root
I usually stick with just one collector per root and make a portal ring.
okay
your collectors are probably emptying the root too fast.
IIRC roots give 40 sap before running dry so 4 collectors on each to dry it fully then switching to a different root seem like as good a strategy as any
but sap is mostly a thing you want to consistently get once a day in game and you will have more than enough
Yeah, I like to set up a "circuit" of 8 roots, to rotate between.
My last server game we built a massive "fort" with passages between 6 roots. We collected in total safety.
I usually look for a spot with at least 4 roots in close proximity, put at least 1 collector on each and have my farm in the middle
Yeah, locations like that are about as ideal as you can get.
especially if you're close to plains edge.
yeah 5 root spots is what i was told is more then a enough to just switch
maybe 5 extractors maybe to many ill just stay with 4
For single or two players, but when you have a full group of 10, more is better.
depends if you play mage, they need much more eitr and a constant flow of sap for food and potions, melee really don't need to care that much except initially
I hung around the area and the root dryd up but i dont wanna stay and im only playing with 2 ppl
Reckon I could run Lvl4 Silver Armour through the Plains and be fine? I love it aesthetically.
Plains is the next biome so that's the armor you're supposed to use there
to get lvl 4 silver, you've already been in plains.
or at least one other higher biome.
Max level forge is from Swamps though
I mean, yeah, but I always assumed the armour from the previous biome is supposed to be not quite good enough for the next biome, but enough to let you get the materials for the next set.
That's what it felt like going into the Swamp with Bronze.
You should be more worried about keeping that armor for the start of the mistlands than for the plains
You don't need to hang around for it to work. I usually just put a mini stone fort around each extractor, to give me a relatively "safe" spot to extract from and use for defense when I get seekers or a soldier attacking me. Usually seekers.
I mean, I've dipped my toes in, killed a few Deathsquitos, and emptied a Tar Pit, but I've gone no further than that.
I'm a bit spooked by Fulings.
All fuling attacks except for the spear can very easily be jumped over
Take your
with you.
keep a stack of stone handy and your hoe set on raise ground. If you get swarmed, just raise 4x4x4 and you should be pretty safe.
Fulings are relatively easy. With level 4 gear, including weapons like Porcupine, you can handle 5 or 6, even with a 1 star.
fulings attack are some of the easier to dodge in this game
I take it my Crystal Battleaxe will be quite good into Fuling Camps then?
It is a good option. π
Use a bow to draw out small groups from the camp, then use the axe for those groups
I often dissrespected full camps in troll armor with an abyssal razor
Running straight into these camps is a great way to kill yourself
Especially if that group includes beserkers.
Leeroy jenkins
In our first playthrough one of my friends cleared a plains biome and tamed a few lox before we killed the elder, but he died many times doing all that
Like I said, I like to keep it to 5 or 6 fulings.
So i think the problem is
If I leave before they started doing the sapping it doesnt workj
so just wait 60 seconds then take off
I like his style
It won't extract? Thats wierd. Maybe the position is bad, but it should work with you being gone.
Going back to my 4th very hard deathless try, been in the swamp for a while, time to go for the elder, I delay it as much as I can because of the relentless raids
Trying to never die is always very hard. Especially if you do things like no rolling or parrying.
I wouldn't avoid using the best tools I have, on very hard I need to roll more than i'd like but it's fine, just take longer to kill the stronger enemies
Tower shields are very good, so its not like you don't have a good alternative to rolling and parrying.
uh lol
I've made it to the Queen without dying. I just have not pulled off killing her without dying, and not dying before getting to her.
Jumping and walking/sprinting out of attacks are significantly better alternatives than using a tower shield
Jumping is better than rolling is most situations
interesting to note... ποΈποΈ
Well, Tower Shields work for me, and I have gone without dying, until the Queen. So it works.
No doubt it would be far easier on me if I did parry, and dodge roll, but thats too easy.
It works, but that doesn't mean they're very good
I don't die, so good enough for me.
There are other things you have to pay attention to to not die, such as cooking. I have had zero death runs ruined due to that **** smoke.
Falling trees, early on, have killed me. Things like that.
you can die from falling trees? .-.
I died to the first tree I chopped, I needed to see what would happen
interesting to note... ποΈποΈ
I don't know if I will ever try another Zero death run, there is a lot I have to figure out with the Ashlands, and then who knows what the North is going to be like. So I may never try for the entire game.
Still, it takes a lot just to get to the Queen, so I am happy with just getting that far.
Yeah, until you get a heavier armor. Like bronze.
Troll armor is only 6 points behind bronze so it will also help out without being heavy
It helps, but if you get caught in a tree avalanch, it may not keep you alive. Its definitely good for one tree, maybe two, hitting you.
Getting out of the way faster is very helpful in keeping you alive
Tree dodging = hardest part of valheim
tree dodging making my lodging in valheim :P
Would Wolf Skewer, Eyescream, and Onion Soup be a good idea for going into Plains? I like Stamina :)))
You might want to swap the onion soup for turnip stew, which has slightly lower max stamina but more health regeneration. Both are good options though
Yes
Nah, that's remembering to equip feather cape before jumping off a cliff like fuckin Superman
Why would you ever not have it equipped
Because you get cool capes in Ashlands.
π
Yeah, obviously.
It is a cape. Made of feathers.
sweet π
An item obtained late in the game that limits fall speed and disables fall damage
I'd keep playing and not get spoiled too much if I were you.
ok :V
First time is always one time only, it's best experience more blindly IMO.
Yeah, first time playing, my advice is to go slow, and just enjoy the experiences. Do not rush. Your only a first timer the first time.
@nocturne wolf Nice broom π I thought I missed a cool tag
or did i actually? when did they gave out those brooms?
Probably a nitro thing.
nyah, I got those fire tag during ashlands release, no nitro required
prolly missed out during bog witch π₯²
No idea, I've been around for most everything. Heck, I have far fewer tags now than I did a year ago. I guess constant activity is a requirement.
It's just an emoji in my name. Many people have flames because they asked for flames during ashlands public testing, and I asked for a broom in bog witch public testing.
So thats my problem, I never ask.
I believe the emojies are generally given in public test chat yea
I believe for flames Smiffe did like a post or survey thing of "do you want flames added to your name?" during ashlands playtest
lookout for DN and Combat update, might get 1 or 2
I haven't done play testing since the Mistlands.
I didn't test Ashlands either xD
My PC's Intel UHD 630 can't handle Ashland, I only play till Mistland π₯²
I just didn't want to put in the extra time anymore. My system handles the game just fine. I just want to play for the sake of playing now a days.
Some users who are especially cool are given suns by their name
Like who?????
hi, is there a farming mod that does everything so i dont have to use more mods? like replanting on harvest, farm grid, shows progression etc.
ah, thanks
anyone need an extra body? had the game for a while now and none of my friends will play it with me, not even the ones i bought it for so ive got a village i built just kinda empty. but yeah if anyone wants someone to drag along im down
just send me a dm and lmk when wanna play if any
heading to the ashlands for the 1st time wish me luck
Honestly, that has been the best way to find groups, and create groups, ever since my friends had to go back to work after the pandemic. Aside from just playing with my wife, and occasionally, my kids.
Good luck! Don't let the creatures bite
Take my advice, build campfires whenever you can. Everywhere. They'll burn out quickly, but the main reason is spawn suppression. You'll thank me later.
interesting to note... ποΈποΈ
yeah ashlands in the public test was fun, it took me a couple days to start making progress instead of just fighting whatever was coming until my inventory was full but then I learned I could just run make a new portal somewhere else and then fight there so I could progress
Early ashlands was fun in a team because it actually felt like something that necessitated teamwork, like one person kiting a Morgen away while the other two fought the other morgen or one person swimming to shore to build a workbench to repair the ship the bonemaw was breaking
I just like having to fight against overwhelming forces and beating the odds
Ashlands is still a lot of fun. But it was definitely toned down
Which is understandable. A lot of people couldnβt handle being overrun
bonemaw isnt rare is it lol
No, it never was
Probably never will be
Its honestly annoying, although the trophy is probably one of my favorites
arbalest rocks them but damn i dont wanna fight like 5
got trophy 1st one i killed
is there any safe spots out here where monsters arent going crazy 100% of the time
No, ashlands is pretty much combat all day long. At some point i'm going to do the crazy and make my main base there
Only the spots you make. Slap up some walls and some spawn protection and you'll have yourself a safe space
Hello guys, what is my next step, if i have full bronze armor
Find the swamps.
Then mountains, then plains, then the mists, then the fire, then the ice.
That is the intended sequence.
Which also means beating the boss of each "biome" before going to the next.
Kill the Elder first, surely.
