Frostner is bit safer option than Mistwalker due to the knockback difference.
I hate the knockback myself, plus it has truly puny damage at this point
I see how the knockback can be of use in that kind of fight, but it's not enough to drag it around when I have Mistwalker
Frostner in ashlands absolutely does not have puny dmg π
Ohyeah charred would be blunt vulnerable? Makes sense - but meh my Mistwalker is fully upgraded so it's good enough for me
123 dmg against charred, and no they are not weak to blunt π
But yeah, i also like mistwalker better, tho frostner or silver sword use less stamina
But they are definitely resistant to pierce, cheating buggers
That they indeed are xD
Considering that they are kinda...
transparent, it would make sense for them to take less piercing damage
they are already kinda see-through
So thatβs why blobs are pierce resistant
Oh yes, I was more thinking that since they are also quite, uh, emaciated they'd be vulnerable to blunt like regular skellies. But I guess the fire has hardened their bones..
Nah, for them, they are just goopy much
Not much good stabbing jelly π
Well, stabbing mass of jelly isnt gonna do much either xD
does anyone know how i can craft a shotgun? or does it not exist?
A shotgun...
In valheim???
You wait till the (currently) last biome π
Ashlands.
I would assume they're thinking of the later magic staffs
it was an april fools joke by the developers
The lightning shotgun is a shotgun.
if he really exists maybe someone knows him id
It's called Dundr iirc.
Deep North lightning staff called Miffln.
So we can have Dundr Miffln. π
So I managed to capture a starred wolf, but not before dawn. So now it just stands there in the pit, ignoring the juicy meat. I guess I might as well kill this one and get a new? Or does it get hungry and tameable again next night?
Definitely wants to bite me if I hop in there with it, but it's not taking any morsels
The April fools shotgun isnβt in any public release of Valheim
Wait until the next night, it will then eat the meat and start taming process.
If you leave the area it will despawn.
Awesome. I can't go out of reach though or it will despawn, right?
Yeah, best stay close.
Roger that, boring day ahead π
It happens sometimes.
Vikings running around with shotguns and lightsabers would be incredibly funny, though
Lightning shotgun and flame sword. We already do that π
Wonder if there are any good gun mods for Valheim...
That can be googled or asked around https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202934289898151966 if needed. π
He cannot leave because otherwise the starred wolf will despawn, as it didn't start to tame before dawn.
If it starts taming, won't it still stick around?
Starred wolves can only start taming during night, otherwise it will try to run away after night so it could despawn if the taming didn't start.
If it cannot run away and you stay near it you can try tame it again when the next night arrives.
Any ETA on the deep north updt?
Nope, only info is "not anytime soon" and whats in #news π
Dundr is fun tool in Infested mines. π₯
It is a fun tool in general π
guys can u find black core in stair entrance dungeons?
In both the types of dungeons π
i wanna kms then. i jut got my first dungeon and i didnt find boss stone and neither black core
They are simply quite rare π much more rare than the surtling cores for example
and those mobs are TOUGH dude
I agree, but it's fun to oneshot those big critters.
π₯
What gear do you have against them?
padded helm root chest fenris leg wolf cap frostner bm shield(small one) frost arr with draugr bow
all of em maxed out
That should be quite good setup π€ what food are you using?
2 healt 1 stamina. misthare supreme-meat platter-bread
Seems more than good enough, maybe try salad over bread.
total 174 stamina and 210 healt
Bonemass helps against all their attacks.
ive thought that but making bread is SUPER easy
im using it as well
You can roll those off π
is ther eis anyway to get rid of em while they stickd on your back?
You could benefit from something AoE. Iron sledge, BM atgeir, ooze bombs etc.
anyone have a better way of block leveling besides the elder? get really tired of helping him aim lol
Do a dodge roll.
goddam-ill use it :3
And with root harnesk they deal less damage due to pierce resistance.
yea thats why im using it
i wasnt using it actually but right after i got around 60 damage from them i switched right awey
Quite funny how relevant some pieces of gear stay even after few biomes.
fr xD
But yeah, consider AoE weapons in your arsenal for groups.
Ooze bombs are quite good and cheap.
why? i mean why are they that good? what are they oing ?
This message brought to you by Atgeir Gang
They leave a poison cloud on area on impact.
They deal poison damage on enemies around the cloud, which seekers don't resist.
ill think about it
And, a cheesy tactic, but they can ||deal damage through doors/breakable vines, cage walls etc., making enemies unable to reach you through them doors while dying to poison damage||.
dang
But in general fight they still weaken the enemies by taking their HP over time while you fight them.
If it has the red exclamation mark, it's too scared to calmly eat π
Nah it was calmed down, but wouldn't eat to start taming because day dawned. But since I trapped the wolf it couldn't escape to despawn. I had to wait for next night...
So it worked?
does anyone here know how to play im awful
tree fall on you?
Listen to the bird who gives you advices.
Pick up everything.
Sure it is. If it is new, pick it up.
Why would I give bad advice?
never said it was bad lol
early-game tip. that torch is a great weapon against greylings and pigs. The grey dwarves don't like fire. they get all confused near a camp fire.
Save Mushrooms for later and mark their locations on the map.
....shit
I just used up silver to create a silver shield to upgrade from my iron buckler... not remembering that by defeating Moder I could've just gone ahead and made a blackmetal shield and could've saved that precious silver for literally anything else... (like that silver sword to use against Yagluth or upgrading my frostner)
thats not quite as bad as making a new one when you intend to upgrade the old one.
Listen to the bird, use common sense, explore, have fun. In reverse order of importance
Does anyone know why the build option is no longer available from time to time? Could it be because of my active mods?
Mods can often break things that aren't related to their content
I have the workbench selected, but it is not visible or accessible, I must log out and reconnect and it is solved.

guys should i use carapace chest instead of root?
There's a when and where to that. In Mistlands, most enemies do piercing damage so the root is very good, but you need to make sure to carry barley wine or an encounter with gjall will be very dangerous. Carapace is much stronger overall against all damage (except piercing), while it makes you slower. So it is pretty much up to you to decide, what you prefer.
No it despawned anyway, I turned around and when I turned back it was gone. Sigh.
Ah, that's unfortunate. Hopefully you find another one soon.
thanks
It's an upgrade for padded chest for sure.
Yeah, I usually wear the full carapace against the boss.
won't damage the cage but will attack if your in rage
bee hives make an interresting defense though.
i havent seen them attack enemies
kinda goes the other way. anemies attack the bees.
If they are attacked, they will poison any creatures nearby.
oozes
Use a stagbreaker to slam the ground in the swamps. When "too hard" pops up, mine there and you might get some iron out of it
what about the mistlands
you need a blackmetal pickaxe for that
why
You can deconstruct some of the structures there for iron, no pickaxe needed
game design decision
You can get iron there, but you either need to mine the old armor / sword remains or break down the structures there, using the stone cutter. Which requires 2 iron ingots to be build....
You can use a weapon to break it to get the iron for a stonecutter but it will be slow
in my experience, it's easier in the long run to collect about a hundred iron from crypts and be properly outfitted first.
This will likely result in significantly slower progression and recurring iron shortages, just be warned.
No, you can just break them with a stone axe
Go in mountains and loot frost caves for chance for iron ingots.
Do fishing for chance for iron scrap.
Kill Sealed tower in Plains for decent amount of iron ingots.
Kill red oozes for chance for iron scrap.
Find muddy piles in swamp for iron scraps.
Kill viaducts in mistlands for iron ingots.
I think thatβs all the sources from memory.
what is a viaduct
The mistlands structures that give iron. Tall black marble structures.
ok
can youi still buy valhweim boardgame?
Hey guys, anyone know if there's been any news on the next biome release?
They keep posting teasers on the YouTube channel but for a release window I would guess around December to March or so
Same news as always. "When it is ready, guessing is pointless."
Somewhere between May and April
Honestly it would be cool if it was on the anniversary of valheim
actually there is one more source of iron; use Seeker Soldiers to smack the old bronze statues scattered around mistlands, which will drop copper and iron ignots
Cool
aren't those huge ass bridges you can find also full of iron gratings and whatnot?
and if you break down with a workbench, u iirc get iron bars?
I tried to break one of those but a gjall showed up and ruined my day
yeah - thats the Viaducts I mentioned earlier
and that's the issue with skipping the biomes. Its doable for sure - but can be painful
I guess if we are talking about biome skipping the last source of iron is in Ashlands from the ancient pots - they have a approx 3% chance to drop iron ingots
yagluth is pretty free from my experience. drake and queen are much harder
hi
Congratulations... I just found my last doll today. Later when I get on going to look at some videos about the fight and try it. Then off to the next zone π
hi
I am getting raided by fuling berserkers while building my house and I am getting my ass fucking beat
anyone got a vanilla server running?
CTRL + F3
Do "ancient cave markings" do anything in the frost caves? they make the cursor yellow which indicates they are interactable or smthing?
Will Maypoles be buildable again in June?
Thanks
Yeah when it's summer
Midsummer eve, to be more specific. Late June to early July is usually the time period for that.
never made sense to me why may poles are in june
If I don't feed the lox, will they die or just stop reproducing?
Animals donβt starve
ok how can i stop them from breeding
Stop feeding them
It is a tradition in Northern countries during Midsummer which may have occured in May day way before, iirc.
i know. had smth similar in school over here with maypoles. but i remember it being spring aswell
Some countries have similar tradition in May during the May day or Pentecost.
"Maypole" is just the English word for what we call "midsommarstΓ₯ng" in Sweden. Midsommar is celebrated around summer solstice, i.e. 20-23rd June. Exact date varies because in modern times we've standardised midsummer's eve to always be on a friday.
That too, a translation thing to English.
ah i see. the bri ish ruining another thing
Not necessarily ruining, just translating something they haven't had originally.
We call Midsummer Eve "Juhannus(aatto)" here in Finland.
Has there been any information on whether Valheim will have achievements at launch or not?
1.0 patch will add achievements, but there is no info about its release yet.
Sweet, that's good to know thank you
Follow https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202150165449035816 channel and you will get small info about the process of DN monthly during the end of the month period (usually).
I guess the May and Midsummer festivities got all rolled into one bundle there... there is maypole where I live and it is traditional to raise a maypole in may. And then there is what we call "Johannisfeuer" and that is a big bonfire made and burned on mountaintops in june... so there we are for midsummer.... I guess there are many similar traditions around europe and they just rolled it into one event in the game π (waiting for the maypole to be buildable now, raise those comfy levels π )
After mountains do I just go into plains? should I use the root harnesk (so silver helm/root/fenris)?
Also what arrows to use? frost or obsidian or just any arrows I have spare?
Plains is the next biome after mountain. The pierce resistance of Harnesk helps against some mobs (||Deathsquitos|| and ||spear Fulings||), but weakness of fire can be fatal against other mob (||shamans||). But that armor combo is usually my choice too when going to plains. You will unlock means to counter the weakness.
Obsidian is good, fire arrows are okay too against few mobs that are weak against fire. Frost is very useful too for slowing enemies. You will unlock new type of arrows there too.
Are some items in the game finite?
Most items are finite (as in u will eventually run out of them in the entire map)
ie the only way to get tin is by mining those little nodes. The nodes don't respawn so it seem tin is finite.
hm... dragon eggs may be too
There is plenty thoough, and it'll take you years to actualyl run out
Well dragon eggs are way more scarce so that might take less time to get all of them
anyway generated world is huge
So the next question is are the items practically nonfinite. Sounds like I won't ever lock myself out of progress.
I can afford both obsidian and frost, which would u say is better?
you can use simple wooden arrow till the end of the game
Unless you REALLY try, u will have enough items that u won't self lock
Thanks for putting my weary mind at easy π
I'd personally go with frost arrows, since they also require obsidian.
And you will get other arrows in plains too.
if you are an archer you will get tired of farming special arrows, you spend too many of them. When you get Draugrfang with elemental damage, all around you is dead
I usually prefer Huntsman bow over Draugr Fang, since it deals good enough damage, drains less stamina and has hidden stat what other bows don't have: it causes less noise when hitting targets, aggroing enemies on smaller area.
I carry both then use one depending on the situation
That's also valid.
Drake eggs actually do respawn though... Which I have made use of more than once to not need to ship those heavy buggers across half the world.
As for arrows I try to always have a stack of frost arrows for starred buggers and other difficult situations, while I use looted arrows of any quality whenever I shoot ordinary mobs of any kind. If I run out, I have massive stockpiles of needles anyway..
All Squitos Must Die!
Is the ashlands music buggy for anyone else too?
Known issue. More likely Unity issue more than Valheim only issue afaik.
Nooo I had to kill || the cute beast kind from the trader, I wish they were neutral ||
You can ||tame them||.
They can't hear well so they are easily avoided if you're careful
When an Asksvin egg hatches, does it come our hostile or already tames?
Already tamed
Only tamed ones can lay eggs.
What food for taming and what's the strat for it? if I remember, when I tamed some boars I just dug a hole, lured them in, got out, gave food and waited
Also is the lox cape any better than wolf? all capes seem to always have 4 armor and both capes have the frost resistance
Only the looks are different basically, one is not better than the other π
Lox? They eat ||cloudberries, barley and flax||.
They have same stats, but upgrading lox cape to higher quality doesn't require any silver.
I like the looks of lox cape better than wolf cape.
I already have maxed the silver one so no diff (and I prefer white color-wise)
Thanks all
Also is it worth crafting the black metal shield first thing? cuz rn I can't do much else and can help protect me
And do I craft both versions or just the nnon-tall one
The round shield π you really dont need both
The round one is better as you can parry with it, you cannot parry with tower shields (the tall ones).
Ah alr, thought it might be good for dungeons or close combat in enclosed spaces
Is the trick to killing the green-glowing skeletons to not use melee? They seem to beat me in every exchange
Fire arrows.
Melee is just as viable for them as it is normal skeletons
what is the best type of shield (buckler, normal, or tower)
I have no issue going melee against regular skellies, even if i don't block
The green ones might be applying poison?
Depends on what you want to do with it, buckler is better at parrying attacks with less flat rate damage reduction, normal has better flat dmg reduction but not as good for parrys, tower has best dmg reduction
It depends where in progression you are. Bucklers aren't available for mountains and plains so the normal shields work best there, but in ashlands the carapace buckler will be stronger than the flametal shield because the power gap between round shields and bucklers gets bigger with each biome.
Depends, if you're good at parrying you might like bucklers the best, but for both regular blocking and parrying round shields are good too. Tower shields are bit underwhelming.
Even if I'm not using normal blocking very often I will make a banded shield instead of iron buckler because it looks so much better
I like parrying i practically perfect block everything that i can (saved me in the swamp) but im in mountains right now and i see that there is no buckler
The silver shield can block and parry better than the iron buckler can
what does the parry rate mean like on buckler it says 2.5x and shield its 1.5x
That multiplies block armor when parrying, it's why parrying reduces damage more
ohhh ok i thought it ment they were stunned longer lmao
There is pinned message where you can find more detailed info about blocking in spreadsheet.
Is anyone down to share me their survival save? Im pretty bored I like to roam in other's worlds
https://prnt.sc/d0Dfym9Z6Hj9
normal amount of (D)ungeons
Seed? π€
Why is "black metal" green? makes no sense
Because green is the new black.
Should've been blue (are there any blue metals)
it's green and black
Green people drop green metal.
That's a dangerous precedent.
Hey guys! Is there a mod for better graphics in valheim?
No. There are plenty for worse graphics though.
Better than perfection?
Well don't you have high standards....
#screenshots message was joking but you're right anyway x)
how much time takes the boars to respawn at a rune stone ?
They don't.
I finally have a proper spot for trying to find that elusive 2 star asksvin
Built myself a pen and now we go there every night into infinity when I eventually find another one π π
Sadly, there are some mobs that spawn as a once off
Nope, mobs that spawn from runestones and other POIs don't respawn.
#screenshots message @verbal geyser Make some sweet Seeker Aspic from them.
Hopefully doesn't take another 14 nights. π
I gotta figure out how to tame stuff
I think Iβm gonna build a whole new base on my own world, I just have to do some extensive exploring first to find a good spot
I have tamed 2 star during 3 playthroughs. First took the longest: around 15ish nights, second took after the 2nd night started (almost right away) and third was kinda lucky one: didn't actively try to find one but happened to notice it near a captured fortress, then quickly digging a pit and lure it there and just in time got the taming start.
Let us hope! π
i dont understand why my friends dont like this game its amazing ;(
Eh, it's not for everyone. You can't make people love it.
π₯
Valheim is a 'slow-burn' type of game, most younger gamers don't have the patience for that
Remove them and acquire new friends.
Problem solved. π
its not that eassyyyy
It took me 2 tries. I played it single player first and said "I like the vibe but there's something I'm missing here..." and then 6 months later after H&H came out I played it with friends and turns out friends is what it was missing.
Its definitely more fun with friends on a lot of levels, but i also enjoy the challenge of playing solo
I definitely enjoy building more with a group. Someone to appreciate my builds. When i play solo i largely build functionally, not aesthetically
Yea kinda miss my first play through with my friend, but at the same time still thoroughly enjoying playing solo
I wish i could get MIB memory wiped and experience the game for the first time again
The first time I played Valheim I didn't enjoy it much either, until I came back in a group of four
howww i was obsesed with it as soon as i played and have done like 3 or 4 play throughs with a friend of mine
When is deep north being added I have the valheim itch for the 5th time but I wanna wait
not anytime soon.
we want it to be 10/10 experience
goood goooddddd
Welp, I guess that means I have enough time to get an extra run in between it
Idk if you are allowed to answer this but is the new update deep north focused or does it have updates to the general game as well pre north
You could try something new, like weapon types you usually don't use or make a challenge for yourself.
The developers have said it will bring some content to existing biomes in a previous development blog
One last question
deep north is end of game.
we shall see what we add or not add π€
Are there plan to implement magic earlier in the game? I found it to be a little weird to suddenly have it only in the later biomes without progression and stat grinds
no
Bruh
You can level it incredibly fast when you get it given how much HP most enemies in Mistlands have.
I just found it to be jarring to have the game suddenly introduce a class. It also invalidates a lot of previous stat grinding
I also just think it wud be cool to have it as an alternate class from the start
Given the game is balanced around having 0 in all skills and they are literally "free stats" - nothing is really invalidated.
There is no "classes" in game really, just very useful tools for different situations. Plus, magic staves are strong even when low levels.
personally I would prefer no magic at all in valheim π
I honestly agree
Person who just argued it should be earlier now says it shouldn't be there....
Pick an opinion π
It felt a little out of place. Its still fun, but I feel like instead of expanding upon what was already there it felt like a replacement of the swords and armor
There is one kind of magic I would prefer to have in Valheim...
mhm
its a fun change of pace when unlocked
esp with a group of friends, itβs a lot of fun to coordinate blood bubbles and dps types
i agree it feels like itβs a little sudden but it is also such a wild discovery when you hit it the first time
tho you also find 2h weapons later in game π€
That somehow have MTP when they shouldn't π
the 2h sword is so fun
Two handed weapons aren't as much of a unique playstyle though
It will be when they fix it π
I always read that acronym as "Magic The Procject" π
Big sword, big slash.
idk just mauling trolls with a gigantic sword feels awesome
Please tell me that was the reference I think it was
Battleaxes are also quite negleted weapons.
Are we going to get the final biome before or after gta6 you figure?
GTA6 already pushed π
so you might ask yourself. minecraft 2 or GTA6 first?
Neck summon or GTA 6 first
or warcraft 4 / starcraft 3 π€
will i beat a hardcore run or deep north first π€
I have a buddy who refuses to play the game again until it's 1.0
seems like a plan
5 hardcore runs in so far, lots of fun
1.0 gonna be sick, love all playthroughs of this game
^^ i agree
i have no clue
That's from the wrong movie, lol.
The "gooooooood" line is in Ep3 π
There you go.
Kneel before monster mash and pledge your loyalty to the graveyard smash
monster munch?
I'm one of those, I REALLY want to play Valheim, I've finished the other survival games in my backlog, but I'm patiently waiting for 1.0 and achievements to be released before i dive back in, last time i played the swamp was the latest biome.
Maybe it will come out as a crossover with the next elderscrolls game
If you say "crossover" too many time you summon Fortnite devs.
Fartshite
That must have been in the beta then I don't know much about that, the swamp was never the latest biome since Early Access in February 2021.
I feel like haldor ruins no map a bit, I'm scared to just go explore incase I accidentally spawn him somewhere annoying
is there only one spawn per world?
For Haldor or for Vikings?
haldor. i guess you just portal anyway
Haldor has 10 randomized potential spawn locations. If you get within a few hundred meters of one, he spawns and the other 9 are disabled.
ah oops I am no portal too
oh sure, yeah that makes it a bit annoying. the gold items dont weigh a ton at least
I feel like gold is quite heavy?
I think my plan is to search every black forest I find as much as I can before moving on
So uh, I ran into an issue, Im in a morgen hole, he hit me thru the wall and now im stuck outside the cave.....
how common are double silver veins? I found two side by side
You can fall as long as you have more than 100 health you won't die
I'm new to the game & want to find 2-3 people to play the full game with. How do I find reliable people that will stick through?
Ask your friends
I have no IRL friends that are willing to play, so want to make some online friends to play.
You could look in the #1024264966712340510 area.. might help
I was falling, forever and i stepped away in hopes i didnt die. and i was still falling
Nevermind, it worked, thanks a ton luckily i have my feather cloak so i survived
How do you get the greydwarf role?
ok so deep north yes.
when deep south update though?
palm tree greydwarfs
Ashlands be like:
more like asslands
It's a legacy role. It's not used anymore
Ok good to know
How was it acquired tho
I have it for some reason, is it just if you joined the server early?
It was required to join VCs iirc, after few minutes of writing in chat you would get it and you would be able to go to VCs, so basically to make it harder for trolls to get new accounts and immediately go harass people into the voice rooms π
Quoting one YouTube comment:
Jumping off the ship
Deep North: ||βοΈπ¦π||
Ashlands: ||π₯ππ₯π§¨π£β οΈπΉπ§¨π₯ π¦
π₯ππ£ππ₯πΉπβ οΈπ₯||
yeah. like 11-13 lines written, the bot automaticly gave that role to people
to many people at the time joined VC and just trolled with stupid stuff for it to be open to everyone
there still is a problem, but alot more people report these trolls now
I really would love it if Valheim could have more peaceful biomes in the future. Meadows is so beautiful and a nice place to chill. I know that people claim you can also use other biomes currently, but that's only possible with slightly ridiculous natural walls and artificial islands. I found that the pace of home and safe, out adventuring and in danger was the dynamic in the early game, while later on it's all 'everywhere unsafe and it only gets worse'. This is just monotonous in the long run for people like me who like both.
Currently, even meadows is sabotaged after the second boss.
Very unlikely devs will add new biomes than what exist currently. One could say Deep North is currently peaceful, but that will chance after the content patch will be added.
deep north will be the last biome we add
I just started playing a few months ago and I have not seen an updates. When they put one out like the deep north. Will they also change things in the other bio's or are they left alone?
Areas you have already explored won't be updated, but new content in existing biomes can generate in unexplored parts of the world
You can always spawnproof a large area π that Is the strategy i usually use even tho i have walls, i don't want to have to repaire them too often
No biome in Valheim is peaceful
Valheim is the most βlawlessβ of the realms
Best you are gonna get is the meadows before you kill the elder
Sorry, eikthyr (brain went to sleep there) π
After that, all the mobs you had elsewhere start spawning into the βpeacefulβ biomes
Only at night though, you can sleep to avoid them
Nights become restless after progressing more bosses but you can always sleep through night.
The most peace Iβve found is building on top of a mountain or somewhere deep in the ocean so nobody can mess with me
Not to mention all the raids π
what are the odd to find queen loc stone in dungeon?
ive cleared around 5-6 dungeon and i couldnt find it am i missing some rooms? or is it like that rare? as yagluth?
Sure thing, but maybe some of the existing biomes could have variations in their hostility?
I'm not talking the endgame ones, but just up to Plains
Why?
For less monotony
like changing or adding things?
Removing part of the gameplay will only make the game less interesting.
lowkey
not very likly we will change how it works
there is passive mode if you rather have the the enemies not being aggresive unless provoked
hell nah dude i rather play mc
passive valheim is NOT valheim
the main thing about game is the mobs actually
Seems to be what you're after to be fair.
I've got you mixed up, I do apologise.
ur good brotha β€οΈ
Gotta love it when everything wants you dead
Other than Deer, Hare and Dvergr
And that last one is tentative
They still havenβt decided whether to off you or not π
Touch their stuff and youβll die very quickly π
I don't want passive Valheim. Just saying every zone feels the same after meadows
But it's your choice. Good game in any case
Every biome is distinctly different with its own challenges.
The one thing I would like to change about all of this is the resilience of some build pieces. It would be nice if there was some kind of reinforced stone blocks to build defensive walls, and maybe a drawbridge build piece. Stuff like that. It is a bit sad that the most practical and efficient way to build defences is to abuse the hoe to make ugly earth walls. Since mobs will smash down stone walls nearly as fast as they will annihilate a stakewall, the incentive to put effort and resources into "proper" defences just isn't there. I do it anyway because I like my base to look pretty - e.g. I hide my earth walls with stone walls in front and behind. Also keeps the mobs busy impotently smashing the outer walls to pieces until the raid is over.
does anyone know how to remove the big indestructible rocks in the Ashlands? I started preparing a terrain that I found perfect for the base I have in mind but I didn't know that rock was indestructible. I hit it with the ram, it did some damage and destroyed something, but the rock didn't go away. Now it has like a jittering texture effect
The truth is though that the most practical, efficient and effective way to build defences historically during the viking age was to build big ugly earth walls.
The best thing you can do to protect your base is walk outside during a raid. Enemies will only break what they have to to reach their target.
Aye, nothing wrong with that - but as we (in-game) progress technologically and start building stone walls, I feel they should logically provide a little more of an obstacle to mobs than one or two more ME SMASH before they're through. But more than anything this is down to the earth walls being entirely indestructible. Now I wouldn't try to push the devs to change that - gods I could hear the screams if that happened - but it would be nice for some later game buildable defences would be strong enough to be a valid alternative.
This is what I do with most raids. Except "They were Bros, man"... I'm not suicidal π
Its either destructible or not, if it is then keep using the ram, if it isn't then you arent getting rid of it without using mods or forcedelete devcommands. On a side note, i'm not sure which rocks you are referring to, most everything geological in Ashlands usually ends up as a big pile of Grausten

Just uploaded a clip on #valheim-help , I'm really confused about it because I remember getting rid of a similar stone before
I'm playing with mods but nothing that affects terrain, mods like InfinityHammer and Gizmo since I'm building and such
infinity hammer should be able to get rid of it. That said, it looks bugged and you are using mods so i'm gonna say 92.8% chance its the mods.
I was about to start it vanilla to see if it's that
Mods will nearly always mess with more than what they are meant to mess with, it's just the nature of things.
I can only speak for my own experiences, wherein I found markers in literally the first two mines i explored so ... π€·
But that's kinda a weird thing to happen, it's like there is the destructible rock under the model of the indestructible rock
where did u found it?
secret rooms?
in the lowest chamber usually
so not necessairly in secret rooms
They've been very rare in my experience
gotta take a look at the infinityhammer page to see what could I do, but damn, it doesn't ruin the terrain but it sure is an inconvenience for it to be there
They can be found inside the secret doors or at water pools where usually few seekers are.
with infinity hammer, just middle click it with the hammer equipped
the hammer is a literal god weapon with that mod, you can delete anything
doesn't work, maybe I need to change something on the config file?
perhaps, make sure everything is up to date too, I had outdated mods cause rock to become invincible in the past too so sounds familiar
It should be, Thunderstore automatically updated some mods earlier today
IT WORKED
The remove anything option was set in false in the config file
I guess this would fix things as well. Definitely
Walls are useless. We shouldn't have to use hoe and ridiculous natural defenses for everything
It indeed was an indestructible version of the rock on top of the actual destructible rock, for some reason
be SUPER careful with you hammer from here onwards.. Trust me
Yeah don't worry I'm gonna set it on false again, already had some missclicks when building that resulted on a piece that was far away to be destoyed
Thanks!
I think the first line of defence should always be natural or unnatural landscaping of some sort, that is historically accurate. Be that a moat, motte, mountain or island etc.. and then all the build pieces should serve to add further defensive capabilities, high walls, sharpened stakes, balistae etc.. so, not unlike what we currently have I suppose. It just takes a lot of time and resources to build it all rather than just "select fortress in build options and click". Although i'm 100% in agreement for having animated drawbridge/portcullis options!
Yeah moat + wall with stakes on top is always my first defence once i get the antler pickaxe. Later on I enclose the earthwall in stone walls, not because I have to but because it looks better. Only thing I'm after is really stone walls being able to withstand a little more punishment before they crumble. Or maybe just make stone walls not be weak to pickaxe damage, and maybe resistant to chop/slash/pierce.
Agree they could use a few more HP. I think the defensive capabilities scaling with enemies in the game isn't too bad. There are a few anomalies like getting air defences three biomes after you encounter flying raids but thankfully it isnt too bad.
Warning message before the beginning of a raid would be good - usually those catch you with pants down and you then try quickly get your gear and foods in order to fight the raid.
Fight the raid? Hell no, i run around agroing everything like Benny Hill until the raid is over and then either kill them, let them run away or kite them to local wildlife
One major thing is the most destructive (to buildings) raid, the blue-skinned hooligans, have a pretty brutal damage total for stone, making them need only a few swings to pulverise a wall.
I think it would be better if the raid ended after defeating certain amount of enemies instead of a set timer.
But that is most certainly intended and unlikely to ever change..
Would certainly make them more relevant and require a certain effort on part of the defender
eitr is basicly mana right?
Last time I had "They Were Bros" the boss chased after greydorfs and disappeared into the Black Forest. I never saw it again...
Yes, basically. A resource similar to stamina (it regens and you get more of it from certain foods) but you use it to handle staves.
guys is 72 hours in a 2 week is lot? (2 week hasnt finished yetπ)
Hey Devs, actually a solution for the problem I'm having with the game: Could you add a server option for very strong walls and fewer base attacks?
No, passive mobs is not a solution. That's just making the game stale. It's the tuning I'm asking about. Having to waste time cleaning random trash mobs attacking the base while you'd rather be out exploring new areas. You're in the base for recover and sleep, but end up wasting time on this boring cleaning that I'm talking about. That's why I stopped playing in early 2021. Felt like working in s factory doing the same thing over and over at the assembly line.
for someone rocking the asksvin armour with the speed boosts and whatnot is it better to use 2 stamina foods 1 health food instead of the usual 2 health 1 stamina
or you can tame wolves, breed them and make them stay outside the walls. they'll do the cleaning by themselves
"Better" is subjective. I go with HHS since with the Asksvin suit and good stamina food I have all the mobility and stamina I need really - but the low armour means a health buffer is nice if I mess up and get hit.
yeah was thinkin SSH is quite vulnerable with the lower defense, but was also considering a nonstop moving playstyle
Yeah, if you're agile enough on the controls to never get hit - rock on! Me, I know I will eventually get hit so I need that health buffer. Plus running skill around 95 means I can run pretty much non-stop anyway.
95 is insane holy, i am playing with my friend on mage so i do have the bubbles to allow me to absorb an extra hit so maybe thats a strat
Was at 100 a long time before I started trying to mine flametal haha
There are already many ways to defend your base from raids including walls, moats, traps and spawn prevention.
FYI - Fire Hazards switched on makes the surtling raid utterly terrifying.
Just turn raids off then
You can just make them less frequent π
The way I have built fireplaces in my earlier bases would make it highly unpleasant to activate that setting, but I'll definitely do it next time around!
Which seems is what they want
Not if you leave them to burn out π
But then they would be only useful for spawnproofing π
Yeah
I've lost so many bases already this way haha, but I still love it. Way more fun
I typically build 2x2 chimneys around a basic fireplace, with just one wall section open for access. I wouldn't expect that to work with fire hazards on...
Indeed. need a 4x4 square minimum and a lot of clearance
only with wood though, stone still works just fine
you'll never want for coal again
Is there any way to fight fires ones a house starts burning? Tearing down adjoining walls?
yup, thats your best bet
apologies for chat spamming btw, i've reached the point in my build where i need to decorate internally and I absolutely suck at it so i'm procrastinating hard
Here's how it looks: #screenshots message I destroyed all of these and re-planted new seeds a little to the side, same thing happened. Seems the inside of stakewalls is simply not very good for vines? I have a few others planted on the outside and they seem to be growning fine, so I'll replant these again and see.
- Don't shout
- Check the #1024264966712340510 channel
i just tested planting vines against stake walls both front and back and they all meshed nicely for me. I think you probably just traded your prize cow for some janky beans on this occasion
Yeah on another site I have planted them along the inside without any issues. It might actually be the specific orientation of the walls that won't take with the vines, I'll check the compass bearing on these and compare to the other place. Could be that simple.
Asksvin are quite the climbers
They're practicing for joining the circus. πͺ
sa
What day are you on?
Honestly though I just jack them up, I find them fun, they add a little more of a challenge
Oh for sure do that if you like them π thats what the modifier is for
Has worldgen rng gotten better over time?
Thinking of things like
- bf crypts with no cores
- swamps with no seeds, or no crypts
Just as rng as ever π
is there a way to unraise the skills with commands
Resetskill [skill name].
^ that π
alright thx
In doing some research, the Megingjord costs 5,700$
The coins in the valheim shop cost 19$ in a pack of 3, so 19 divided by 3= about 6$
So 950 times 6 = 5,700β¦.
Haldorβs shop is pricey
yay, math :D
Oh shoot! Just realized you have a golden name now π
I was tempted, and I gave in.
New Discord movie: "The temptation ofJoelkkii".
Can the update be released in the summer or fall?
Not anytime soon really.
2026?
?
We don't know since devs have not disclosed the release time for DN update.
Okay, thanks.
We can only guess, but we will get the information when the time is due.
What is your best way to kill a hare? Magic? Trap?
chasing
i place wooden spike where they pass , they get one shot , try to find a choke point
nvm graphic setting

Staff of embers really, ranged and has aoe π
Jesus I never realized how much money valheim actually made
14m copies on steam alone??
Yeah, they basically sitting on top of money pile rn.
Every penny deserved
They literally haven't released a single update in over four years
Joking a bit, ofc. Eager to see what other projects they might get into in the future.
Ooof I just missed my dodge when a valkyrie did its spinny-whinny attack, gave me a bit of a scare there
the entire game was realeased in these past 4 years...
He's being sarcastic...
oh sorry ^^' already had this conversation with someone, don't remember who
Sometimes it doesn't translate well in written language.
Add these
totally agreed
That attack has huge knockback, it almost became fatal on my deathless run some time ago lol.
Yeah, was right next to the lava sea but I at least managed to position myself right so she launched me towards my base instead
I was literally launched at the lava, fortunately got quickly out of there by jumping like hell.
Oof
Lava damage was nerfed at one point, so I would have been dead before the nerf.
I'm using a lot more meads in Ashlands than in any previous biome, this viking must be constantly hammered
Ratatosk, Lingering stamina and Major HP stay always with me.
Silver sword works best on the plains boss because of the spirit damage
Have you used knives before?
There is no absolute best, but atgeir is strong contestant. And Porcupine is also quite good and underrated weapon.
Might not have been the most recent biome at the time then, but it was the furthest i made it
Gods, I thought morgens were solitary
The random spawn limit is 1 but the one-time spawn points in ruins ignore it.
This was in the general vicinity of my base, I've been everywhere here already, these two guys must have spawned close enough to wander into the same area
Thank gods for bonemass and ratatosk...
Most important skill in Valheim? - Know when to just do a 180 and run like a mother<bleep>
Thats why its also good to level your "Run away" skill
Run was my first skill to ever reach 100. So yeah π
Hide behind pillars, move away from root tentacles, shoot fire arrows. Alternatively, use a tower shield to block his attacks and go to town with an axe
he is quite easy tbh, fire arrows but also wood or flint work well for range, or flint spear can be used, also the faster slash weapons like bronze sword is good if you want to melee, the pillars are indestructible so you can hide behind, avoid his attacks etc tentacles (axe works too like Derleth said but sword is faster attack for slash damage)
Any bronze weapon will be good enough for melee
He can be defeated with any weapon/method. Fire arrows deal more damage due to his weakness against fire.
Atgeir + dodge rolls was how I did it. Bring some meads just in case you take a hit or run your stamina too low
Slash damage doesn't matter, all physical damages are neutral
yeah but sword is faster a bit so yeah
yeah that was my first ever kill I did it like that
Atgeir secondary attack is great for clearing the summoned roots
now i have probably killed him more than 100 times
i saw a youtube kill him with campfires
will that help?
Aye the pillars block the stuff he shoots, and the roots can't move so if you move away from them they are harmless. Also don't start the fight late in the day so you get a non-stop night parade of greydwarfs joining in.
that is a working cheese strategy yes
Speedrunner strat. If you're asking for help, you probably don't have the game sense for that strategy, no offense.
lmao true
you attack it
i'll try my best though
I kinda like the elder fight. It's a proper boss fight without being overly difficult even if you are only moderately prepared for it
speedrunning is a different kind of beast, I've done Elder in less than an hour myself after starting world
maybe i'll place campfires while he's spawning
and then shoot fire arrows after he spawns
you can also whack him while he's spawning
If you have a knife, try to land a secondary attack right as he spawns for a high-damage backstab hit
wise words
oh knives have 6x backstab ye?
Probably more effective to whack him. He has to walk over the fires for them to do any good, and I think he'll stomp them out fairly quickly too
Hello. are there any plans to add music? I LOVE the soundtrack its just getting old after hundreds of hours
could just turn down the music and find new music on youtube that fits the theme
Nothing compares the valheim feel tho
Or you could destroy a greydwarf nest and build a house on top of that so that you get the nest music in your house
Also, is it just me who only plays on 2x? I feel like the normal grind is waaaay to hard. Especially since getting berries is so tedious and cant be farmed
theres people who have playlists on youtube that gives valheim vibes
You're not the only one (I play on 1x though) Generally not for berries, but for things like iron, copper, and wood.
1.5x
Berries are easy to get a lot of if you mark clusters of bushes on the map and do harvest runs every once in a while
Well berries isnt what I do it for its honestly just for iron. Most ores are fine to get but iron is AWFUL. I was just adding onto it
is that a thing?
I honestly think getting wood and stone is hell. I just wanna make a new base and I have to grind for stone for hours
I honestly wish there was a 2x for ores and wood/stone
I also think boats take SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long to go anywhere. Its literally like 10 actual minutes of silence.
On the bright side, yo only need to sail once to set up a portal, maybe like 2-3 times along the same route if you're boating ore/ingots
no, i'm sure DN will have 0 music and no additional songs when released.
like ashlands and mistlands
I wouldn't go for more than 1.5 and even then only in a large group, certainly not solo.
Im in a group of 2
those two biomes didn't add any music at all
π
Then normal settings are fine.
That makes a lot more sense. I thought this was a singleplayer world
Yeah but thats biome exclusive. and there isnt much of a reason not to be in the plains
Most music is biome specific.
I don't think we're getting extra music for biomes unless there's a specific reason (like if we had another NPC).
Maybe try a swamp or forest base, then. Possibly with nearby plains for farming.
Or turn off continuous music and play your own.
Bro id get rampaged every second there
Not if you spawnproof with torches
I dont know I just think 1 track for so long is boring especially when the normal area is the only area that is really worth settling at
Valheim is literally one of my favorite games of all time I just think there are some minor issues
Valheim could do with more tracks, but it's also not too hard to set up a playlist of one's own
A game shouldnt rely on their players to use youtube music to get by
I dont really understand that point. I love valheim I mainly just want ore specific X amounts because I just want 2x iron and 1.5x wood stone and the other ores. I also just have a lot of little complaints
It really is a great game but I do think there are some things people dont talk about enough
it doesn't.
Its a very minor complaint this is just a complaint for players like me who have many hours I guess
I mean, lots of us have hundreds, if not thousands of hours and this is the first time I'm hearing a complaint.
lol i have over 1.5k hours in this game pc and xbox. i dont even listen to the music anymore. its easy to just set up something from youtube or i just watch something at the same time
Im sure we all love this game but its not free of criticism. These devs are amazing, I just feel like there are some small issues that could really go a long way. The game just has a lot of buffer moments. I like grinding but getting materials for a nice house as well as iron is insanely tedious. I have cleared multiple swamp biomes and still needed more iron. I also dont think its crazy to say the same song gets boring after 100s of hours
No-one said it was free of criticism.
Valid points all around.
then literally turn off the music in setting and go turn on something else
many games out there have one simple theme song or continuous music
Im not saying this is life or death I just feel like it would be a pretty nic eaddition
A lot of games also have multiple tracks that play in rotation for different areas that you will be at for a while
Same could be said for games with multiple tracks per area. Especially open-world ones. With the player numbers Valheim has gotten, it's not prohibitively expensive or difficult to add something like this.
Valheim has one of my favorite soundtracks ever it rarely gets old but I just think that the plains and ocean music are getting kinda repetitive in my head by now thats all
I agree it wouldn't be too expensive or difficult to add music. Doesn't mean it should or will happen.
I feel like with its success and the replayability it would be a very fitting and useful addition
Having an in-game option to turn off continuous music resolves that issue for me.
I wouldnβt hate more music considering how good the stuff we have is
Yeah
guys should i use carapace buckler or shield for queen?
But donβt expect it
Valheim is a very grindy game, the music is what keeps me a bit more entertained when im sitting there hacking away at a copper deposit
Parrying bosses is a waste of stamina since they canβt be staggered. Rolling through the attacks is generally the best option.
The power gap between bucklers and shields gets larger with each biome and by this point the buckler will be able to parry significantly better than the shield.
Well, no. It's only really grindy in Swamps with iron and even then you can get round that by only actually mining what you need.
Depends on how well you can parry. Carapace buckler is still one of the best shields in the game going into ashlands.
Not going to lie, i do occasionally enjoy changing things up, so i do run my own playlists sometimes
i like bucklers to parry. i never used an actual tower shield
aight thanks
Id say Black Forest copper comes in 2nd on the grind list behind iron
me neiter thats why i asked if im doing wrong or not
Neither.
Eh, only if you're trying to max level everything, which really isn't necessary.
nothing you can do wrong in this game. \
The entire game is grindy, its part of the fun, its just excessive sometimes, there is no way you have zero complaints
Its why i opt for troll armor in most playthroughs
Game could definitely do with an iron and maybe a copper buff
Again, I never said I have zero complaints. I even said Swamps can be grindy.
The entire game is fun except when I arbitrarily decide it is not? π€
I actually wish the game was more of a grind in some biomes. Mountains and plains go by too quickly
Huh? I just think the grind is unbalanced. The swamp is painfully long and the mountains are too fast. Im not sure why you said it was arbitrarily. I love valheim but you are guys are treating my complaints as personal attacks
Welcome to the Valheim discord server.
Yeah, getting the main Plains resources are a little easy having the Fuling villages above ground and once you've grabbed a handful of barley and flax it just multiplies itself and the Blackmetal comes to your door for free.
And the BM isnβt even needed for the armor (and lends more credence to the iron grind)
You are one of the only normal people here. I think some people on discord just wear a blindfold and fight for whatever game they like. Criticisms doesnt make something bad
Who is doing what now? If I thought you were making personal attacks I'd have blocked and reported you ages ago. I don't think this at all.
I didnt mean that as an insult
None of these things are happening. Are you OK?
I think tone is weird over discord, we all love valheim, I think I just got heated and i made assumptions im sorry
It's all good.
Tone misinterpretations seem to be a recurring problem here.
Its the problem with texting. Good job buddy could be very different things based on tone
You're seeing "personal attack attitude" where there is none so that's on your end.
You said the grind is part of the fun and then immediately flipped to saying it is excessive.
So either you are against excessive fun or you don't actually find it to be fun π€
What makes the Swamp "painfully long" to you?
Itβs moreso that no one likes being disagreed with or criticized so itβs easy to imbue an overly negative tone in the words
Such is life
Weβre also discussing inherently subjective concepts
When does this happen? A lot of projecting from people going on.
Its not black and white. I can enjoy the grind and also think that there is too much of it. You can like ice cream but not want it every day. Balance is what makes stuff fun. I just think that the swamp has too little iron. ive had to sail to multiple swamps and scout the entire area for hours just to get a full set of stuff
I don't mind disagreements OR criticism.
-# You will note I haven't even agreed/disagreed with anything. I just pointed to an inconsistency in what was being said.
Guys, relax, im saying these things about people in general, not any of you specifically or even this discord specifically.
So your personal experience with RNG being bad means they need to overhaul the Swamp?
(Genuine question from someone who found 300 in his first and 1400 in his second.)
Sounds like the RNG needs to get overhauled then.
That is a valid point.
#NerfRNG
Again, no-one is taking anything personally. Where IS this coming from?
New dart blaster coming 2026.
Enough
If RNG needs fixing anywhere it's in the Ashlands fortresses.
brought to you by crossbow gang
I take the hyphenated no one personally π
But then we said that in PTB.
Ive played several runs every once and a while since the game was in beta. Iron has been consistently tedious and sailing can be a little lonely. Also I think there shud be more music but its not a complaint just an idea
the sailing part has absolutely no part of your question by the way I just said that cuz idk
I love sailing, it's so chill.
Most of my complaints all boil down to resources being spread thing and needing to sail very far for stuff like boss altars and enough ore to progress
If you consistently have bad RNG in the Swamp then I would say the talking point is RNG/World Gen tweaks, not tweaking the Swamp itself.
Sailing- being able to be alone with your thoughts and not become lonely is actually an IRL measurement of health, so that's not something I'm going to touch.
Music- Spotify π€·ββοΈ I think current music could be played on repeat forever and it would be fine because they did a great job with it. But if the dev in charge of sound design has more things cooking I would expect they drop with the 1.0 update (and I'd genuinely be surprised if nothing new came in that department).
I like being immersed in the music has to offer for most games. Also I dont think its crazy to want to do stuff when playing video games. Sailing feels like an extended loading screen most times since its just open sea and a straight line. I feel like that was easily a charged statement. But yeah world gen is probably my bigger issue
Often times, when I'm playing Valheim, even singleplayer, I'm in a Discord VC with some friends. Easy way to pass time when I happen to be sailing.
You sail in straight lines? π
That would certainly explain why it takes you so long.
I always play valheim with a friend. Also I dont mean literal straight lines. I just find that boats are too fillery
I wouldn't object to more Ocean content but if not I won't cry about it.
Am i expected to make a new house in every few biomes? Or can we just use 1 base? never got that far but id like to plan ahead
Not at all. I've only ever had one base and then a couple of outposts.
It's more building vs. more sailing ore back to one's main base
Completely a play style choice, but both have their downsides
I usually build outposts everywhere and have one main big base
Same. Although I could just as easily move the base instead...
Outposts first, then main base in some good place is my style.
Definitely a personal decision. And I guess if you're a big builder then you're more likely to make more bases.
One big base for me
I love building in valheim
Given the wording I would say you need to check with the rest of "we" to see what they expect of you.
And if they want you to build a house every single biome I would leave π
I see derek is at it again
πΆ And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate...
Nothing to worry about.
No. It's because she is the singular greatest artist of all time.
I don't remember her being in Queen.
Taylor Swift is the pre-nerf Feather Cape of musicians.
There was no nerf! It was briefly changed to make up for another issue then switched back.
I don't understand why this part of the plains keeps getting foggy
It really gets in the way of the flour I desperately need
2 possibilities I can think of off the top of my head:
- Near Mistlands
- Incredibly bad RNG
hi guys, i got boars in a pen right now, last i checked they were about 10% tamed, but i looked now and there are yellow hearts coming off them. what does that mean
how do i know when theyre done taming?
weather βοΈ
I'm only near the Mountain
I wish I was near the Mistlands so I can get my hands on some sweet cooking ingredients before hunting down Yagluth
can i use f word?
If you really felt the need to.
i hate this fu*kin queen. ive been fighting for an hour and her hp is just like 40%
Feel like it would have gone faster if you used Tasty given how bad Stamina mead is...
anyways ive killed her so no problem
So uh, how do i built a boat
For the raft you need wood, leather scraps and resin.

Where do i unlock the ability to build it?
like its not appearing in my crafting menu
Check the misc tab in the hammer menu, is it available there? If not, you may not have picked up all the necessary components.
Gotcha. Thank you!
can someone ping me with a list of the best mods please
None.
download a modpack
any recomendations
Yes, go to #mods-discussion π
i have nothing left to do in unmodded
I find that incredibly hard to believe.
how many hours you got
Nearly a thousand.
i have a bit over how are you starting to not see not much to do left
ive build most stuff i can imagine made crazy bridges treehouses
made tons of farms and even made skiing with boats
Did you get your resources for these things or did you spawn stuff in/activate free-build?
Some people in this channel are really against mods for some reason. Regardless, #mods-discussion is still a better place to ask.
i physically got everything i have
ye valheim is good alone my second fav indie game fr
We are just different people then π€·ββοΈ
But as I said, #mods-discussion will be the place with people who have good recommendations for you.
what have you not done in 800 hours?
I have not gotten bored or felt the need to alter the game beyond its intended design. π€·ββοΈ
do you have img perms can i see some of your world builds?
curious maybe you had a greater vision
do i need to change my cape for ashland? im using feather
also you guys know any other good coop survival games
I don't really do screenshots of my builds usually, sorry.
But I always do village builds instead of one massive building. So like each type of workbench gets its own dedicated build in the greater area.
You don't need capes at all, so that is entirely up to you.
makes sense
Feather cape is great in all biomes
wdym no screenshots though thats kinda weird man
π€
cause feather have very weak to fire debuff
just dont get hit π
lol
I mean the ||ashen cape gives 12 armor|| soooo up to you
bro if its spoiler that i shouldnt know why are u texting π
have you never read a patch note?
oooh
Itβs more of a thing for if you want a small spoiler you can reveal it if not keep it hidden
do you like it what had you played befor
wym
what survival games
i start to play valheim 2 weeks ago man not my game life
i mean you played a survival game befor like any good reccomedations
I did a screenshot.
idk man i mean u can play terraria, dont starve, subnautica, starbound, ARK, Project Zomboid those are the games that i could recomand
Minecraft always on that list too.
played them all
oh shi yeah fs
so idk man
im tryna find something new because it was like so gold when valheim first released and i wanna find something like that
my brother is playing Enshrouded this game its new and kind a looks like valheim theme
I also really enjoy an early access game called palia. Not survival at all but very chill
My sister started on that game about 2 days ago. Seems pretty awesome.
Just a reminder that this is the #valheim-chat channel π
anything non-valheim related goes in the #general channel
yea tru
What the heck happened in here?
You left π
guys do i need to take something to ashland that i cant teleport?
like in mistland u need to take BM cause u need to build extractor in ashland there is have something like that?
Ashlands is when you stupidly unlock the ability to teleport everything everywhere always without any restriction.
oh shit yea thats right i totaly forgot that
Tell us how you really feel

Oh, he will. Every time.
I have made my opinion on this known since it was introduced π It is the one "mistake" I believe they have made.
It's literally the second to last biome, it doesn't exactly break the rest of the game.
The one mistake was adding magic.
It's literally the third to last biome, it doesn't exactly break the rest of the game.

I didn't say it breaks the game, I just don't think magic sits right. It's very much a personal opinion.
And I don't think "teleport all" sits right.
NEVER
You can't teleport all.
I don't know what I started but let's not go down this convo chain π
Name one material that cannot go through the Stone Portal?
Any tame.
Read comprehension failure π
*Reading.
-# I was gonna say bears cos there's not a single bear in game so it can't physically be teleported if you tried.
-# and bears aren't a material
Bingo.
is there no command for killing a player?
guys is it normal that all ashland skeletons are like group of 20 skeleton?
It's the war biome, so...
okey but like 20 SKELETON dude i cant do shit
wtf is that?
Area of effect weapons that damage more than one thing at a time, like the staff of embers or the demolisher
Giant hammer.
should i use silver sword aginst em? them have weak to spirit
Mistwalker better.
aight
can work yes i think silver sword is still less stamina use then mistwalker
4 stamina diff
but if there is 20 I d use the big hammer or the staff of embers
to thin them out a bit firsy
1 week ago I landed with staff of embers, staff of protection and mistwalker and a bow
Carapace helmet and pants, root chest, fire mead stamina mead ratatoskr and lightfood mead and health mead. 1 health 1 stamina 1 eitr food
Full Carapace.
Berserkir Mead.
HHS food.
Including Armory mod, what weapon do people like to run around ashlands with?
that CALLS for Bonemass buff though that layout
<- Runs Eikthyr so begs to differ.
it negates the Berserkir downsides though, ideally bring a friend and have both
ashlands or mist weapons? Berserkir axes and staff of the wild for me, that armoury thing need to be discussed in the channel that Sevrahn linked
bruh. i just walked like 30 sec and i saw someshit that looks like arena
that was boss arena
could be boss arena
Ashlands boss is sometimes for me easier to find then elder haha
and there is have gΔ±ant bird what is that?
get closer and see what happens π

try not to die, maybe pop a fire mead when it flies towards you haha
the rock shaped ashlands dungeon? not hard imo
the thing with the green light is a bigger challenge
in the entrance there is have animal skeleton s
yeah I can tell you what it is if you want spoiler, is relatively easy very small dungeon
its easier than to fight nightspawns with lots of starred enemies or the big bird thing etc imo
you can fight it by rolling away or learn to parry it
its like sort of one of the troll equivalent creatures of Ashlands
tha was scary dude i was just chillin and he just spawned
they look scarier than they are on normal mode
like abomination
he doesn't respawn once you killed the one in there
they spawn outside in some areas too though
this dungeon is to small right?
like 6 molten core
that is a good haul for just one putrid hole
4 on the stick and 2 from chest
can make something powerful with that
can i oonnect wood portal and that big portal each other?
yes
DAMN
also its big and you need stonecutter to build it, but you can teleport things that you normally can't through if you enter through the new one
if you want to teleport those metals and things both ways, then you need new ones at both ends
im everytime before leaving my base im taking 2 surtling core 10 wood 20 finewood and 10 eyes with that anywhere i want i can built portal but i think now i have to game stonecutter things and big portal things if i want to teleport metals
yeah sometimes I explore in Ashlands still with just taking a normal portal, but if I think I might need the big one then I take that as a travel portal and also 10 wood 4 stone 2 iron for stonecutter as well
Gotta mention Himminafl, a great AoE weapon.
yea
but you could always just take the normal and then teleport the iron through to that location with a stone portal at the other end
if its needed for metal transport, all up to you how you want to handle that
Is it ok to go to the Ashland's with only having killed eikthyr
π
I've been fighting and killing seekers just fine from the mistlands
i mean, why are u playing like this?
Because I am playing on a server where we are fighting the bosses slowly
oh
My base is made of stone and the bottom floor is black marble because I got bored
you can get there with the karve, its not easy though and you have to be really skilled too else you'll just loose your gear, much harder to get back than mistlands where you can just walk in
and if your server is okay with you doing that haha
wait how are u even in mistland dude?
if u didnt killed yagluth u cant craft mist collecter
so u cant craft that eq
you can survive there without seeing if you're good
You can skip Yagluth entirely.
There's some parts that don't have mist
The only "necessary" boss really is Moder.
also how does he have a good enough pickaxe for marble already lol
I know its possible to get it etc but not efficient lol
yea dude wtf there is have a lot of question
I have been tearing down dwarven structures
ah I see with a stonecutter or something, did you get oozer iron?
I limit what people can do on my server, so people don't get ahead too far
but people all want to do different things, can't make everyone happy
I want grausten rocks
for build?
they almost farm themselves, its tricky to go ashlands but it definitely can be done (you are meant to go after killing Queen) I have gone there pre Queen
Yeah
good luck man xD
you will survive 0-1 hits from most things if you have good food in troll armour and full hp
often you might get staggered and die from that if you survive initial hit
I'm tempted to go into infested mines to get black cores so I can make that mistlands spear
Thank you for the complement π
Honestly, going mistlands with the mist makes your life so much easier
You can normally manage perfectly fine so long as you remember you are going to die in one hit to practically everything that moves in there
You only need a Karve and sail to some βcloseβ spires.
Then just mine G rock from the spire. No Ashlandβs mobs to worry about (other than maybe vultures which are trivial)
ummmm that giant bird is not bird man
Gjalls are mean
Oh ok thanks
Take a portal too π
They are only trivial if you use this trick I learned from this speedrun youtuber whats his name knot something π
Idk who that is
i responded to the wrong comment, Afrayedknot has a run where he goes to Ashlands real early with a Karve
I have done Ashlands with a longboat but not with a Karve yet, I might try that at some stage too though cause why not
The vultures are not trivial in that armour, the became trivial after I learned your trick π
Yeah exactly. So place standing torch and sit back and enjoy π
I do that now since watching, thanks. while I hum "you have no power here"
This was probably the only new thing I learned in Valheim in the last 2 years or longer haha
π¦
: literally living in a hell like environment
Also π¦
: "Eek, a torch!"
Hahaha
I did list it as a bug that the Dyrnwyn sword doesnβt scare the birds. They said itβs not a bug but a design decision been reviewed or something.
I do find it funny a small torch stick scares the bird, but a large flaming sword of intense fire the birds are like βmeh, letβs go for itβ
I recall seeing "Dyrnwyn not scaring greydwarves" on their issues list, but as low priority tier.
The dyrnwyn was just a letdown
Its like they knew it would be very rare and special so they didn't want to make it op, and they didn't make it good at all
keep looking. They can be found in either the frost caves, or in stone buildings (not wood cabins)
If you cant find any on your current mountain - go to another mountain
off to the next mountain then...
They're kinda everywhere
basically go sailing, scan the horizon, enjoy the boat music
(or use the map viewer if you want, but I advise to avoid if you can)
eh - you can cheat and reveal map basically.
honestly avoid if your first time gaming this - enjoy it "as is"
You see your seed explored on a site
you only get one "first time" play of vahleim
