Tames wolves, make a breeder closeby so you can have fresh wolves when needed and make a kill zone.

Hi is it a bad idea to build near tar pits or can those be destroyed?

Few growths spawn after some time.

If you have cleared them.

You can drain tar pits, which will slow down the spawning of growth, but completely destroying: no, you can't.

You can, however, put torches or any other player made structures around the tar pit to use their spawn protection to block the growths from spawning completely.

Which means you don't need to drain a tar pit, but can leave it the way it's now and use that in your base.

It is very rng dependent. The best way to increase chances is to make sure you are always sailing in the ocean biome

You still will have to deal with the growths first.
So approach one, destroy the growths, spawnproof the side that's the furtherst away from the other two, approach #2, destroy the growths, spawnproof the side you approached it plus the one close to the one you already did, then focus at #3.

With some luck you get quite an amount of tar out of that as well. Can build in the center or close to one of the pits after all are spawn proof.

And even torches work, so might as well use those.

Which boat are you sailing with? Serpents are balanced to be able to defeat with Black forest tier equipment.

You can already outrun serpents with a Karve.
Just make sure the wind is to the left or right side of your ship in the brightest part of the broken circle to get top speed.

Had a frost cave which was "only" one long tunnel with a door at one side and a "stone stair" at a small branch.
Went down that "stair" got 2 Moder vegvisirs (location already found as it's nearby), went further down, got in a hallway, destroyed the tapestry at one side, got attacked by a cultist.
So went back, used the bow to kill him and he immediately dropped a trophy. 🙂

All I need now is the Fenris hair for a hood.

And then I got killed by another cultist.
I s'pose he didn't like me killing his room mate.

Looks like I got him too as well. Must've been the poison of the Draugr Fang that did him in.

I watched a video of someone trying the arbalest the first time, and he kept resetting the reload animation so he could never shoot again, leading to a near death experience. Seems to be a weapon to use as an opener and then switch to something else.

Yes, you can't deal any damage unless you stop dodging attacks. And with 3 block armor () you can't do much else except stand there and get hit.
Or switch to a better weapon of course

It's a very good opener, yes. And you need the levels in the skill to make the reload faster.
So when you first get it, recommended you make bundles of the cheapest bolts and just shoot every deer, neck, greyling, etc as you walk around to get levels into it.

The Karve lets you move 4 stacks at the time, while you can move one stack yourself as well; depending whether or not you've found Haldor. That should be enough space to move one entire copper node.

They are found in black forest, you are near an entrance when you find 3 skeletons nearby.

Entrances may wary in how they look like. And if you have Hugin enabled he lands on top of the entrances to tell you about them, it is one way to locate them easier when you don't speak to him.

The distance between the fire and the ceiling might be the reason for that.

What you could do is remove the floor above the fires, then put up a wall on that floor to create some sort of chimney and move the bed against the wall if the fires are burning.

If not, remove the roof and turn it 180° to create an opening to let the smoke out.

If the fire burns after that, place the bed and try to sleep again.
It should work that way.

I spent two weeks sailing around looking for swamps, so... The world is big, and she'll have three potential locations in your specific world, once you get close enough to one of those locations her symbol will pop up on the map and that's where she'll stay on that world.

Should be relatively easier than Haldor, since swamps are found between 2000-6000 meters from center and she spawns between 3000-8000 meters (so up to 6000 meters in worlds created after Mistlands patch, older worlds have swamps up to 8000 meters).

Difficulty spike from Plains to Mistlands took me way off guard

Boated with three others for like 45 min then attacked the nice man at the shore cause I wanted him to do something. He sure did and we were all dead in seconds with no portal. I, in fact, do not use world map generator

I use the map table mod that, if using the "No map"-setting, basically turns the map table into my only way of viewing the map (as far as I've discovered it)

before the "No map"-option was implemented I used to have an OCD to uncover every single bit of grey on the map, so it's made my gameplay a lot more healthy

Eh the greydwarves are annoying yeah but become much less of a nuisance once you upgrade to bronze weapons and above. It helps to abuse the enemy pathfinding in the Black Forest and using the knocked trees from the troll to your advantage.

Unfortunately due to the nature of trolls and their loud attacks it’s very difficult to not alert the entire Black Forest of your battle lol

Regular greydwarves are fairly easy to ignore in most situations. Kill the troll first, and then focus on greydwarves

If kiting with Fire Arrows they are spawning because they have the time to spawn.
If you switch to melee where you just parry and zerk the troll -> will be considerably faster, so less time for more spawns, and no kiting, so less area traveled for more spawns.

Just turn the fire hazzards modifier on and use fire arrows. Each time you miss your target it will set something else ablaze. But even the monsters on fire will help spreading it.
And because of that you're able to dwindle their health a lot faster, because you're often able to keep them on fire a longer time due to them moving through fire parts.

i shouldn't be judging they way someone enjoys valheim, but man i still can't resist but judge my friend who i convinced to play valheim a while ago

no planting, no crafting, not being curious in anything, not doing research in anything, not having built anything, what else he plays for i don't get lol.

im out here enjoying every miniscule of this game while someone can ignore everything and just kill mobs? lol

again, there are many ways to enjoy this game, but barely touching anything it has to offer and just rushing thru the bosses? i dunno man. then what im doing with 700+ hours of playtime in this game?
