I start with a building's footprint and skeletal structure (wall and roof framing). Having a purpose is key. The purpose tends to present itself. A place to sleep and get rested buff, A place to cook food, material storage, portal hub, black smith, workshop, etc. Start small. Like UncleRanger said, tons of great videos to watch. Watch Vetlive for a visual on what footprint and skeletal structure looks like.

Some suggestions that made it into the game were popular and others weren't.

The reactions are just a small part of it.
It is to gage how many people that are on this discord and react in that channel that find it good or bad.
The people that react in that channel are a very small portion of the player base.

So a suggestion might be popular, it doesn't mean it should be put into the game.
It might not be feasible to do so, it might clash with the vision of the developers, ...

I'm sure Smiffe has that information. Hell, most regulars on the server could tell you the top 10 quite easily. It's only changed over time as most of the actually good ones have become part of the game.

Taking suggestions seriously isn't the same as implementing every damned suggestion made. Additionally, the server represents less than a percent of the game's userbase and even fewer of those actually vote on suggestions so the data doesn't really represent anything.

I dont disagree at all that just because an idea is popular doesnt mean its the right idea. One of the special things about Valheim is the lazor focus the Devs have for the original vision. I'm all for that; its what makes Valheim so good.

Main issue is Stonehenge is so rare as it is, and half the time they dont have chests anyway. So its not viable much - although I do check them for SSG runs...

Blackmetal knife helps makes plains fairly simple with a sheild for deathsquitoes and fulings incase u get hit by accident and can fall back and block n heal

Yeah, I'm building a gatehouse with bridge over to my tower that is built on top of a troll cave - so only flying mobs can get at it, which is basically only bats and wraiths. All other mobs just mill about below or chase the wildlife - but I'm concerned if they can get to the second floor of the gate house they have a way inside. I just hate using ladders, the skippy-jump animation is driving me nuts

Well, if you don't like to have that big stamina reduction when wearing those clothes, yes, they aren't worth it.

Otherwise, they certainly are.

Just don't expect them to give much protection, but then, they're s'posed to be "regular" clothing you wear at your base. Not something you use to enter Mistlands.

The reason it's asked is quite simple:

We got many people in this discord server who's native language isn't English.
And not the whole worlds speaks English - although lots of citizens of a certain country think they do.
So using the common and accepted full spelling will make conversations a lot easier for each and every person in this server to understand.
Even for those using Google Translate or any other translation program, as I'm pretty sure that "ppl", "rss", "sum1" and other "words" you used won't be translated. Thus adding only more to the confusion.

In other words: a little consideration with the rest of the members here would most certainly be appreciated. If that's too much to ask for, well, ask yourself this question: "what would I do if the devs decide that the only language being used here is Swedish and they start to shorten all their words into "texting-language" or "street language".

I have got to say watching a Deathsquito fight a Gjall is about the funniest thing you can see in Valheim. Gjall thinks it needs to fly higher to get the high ground on the Deathsquito. Deathsquito just doing Deathsquito things. And after each round of combat they fly higher unless the Gjall lands 1 single hit on the Deathsquito (I don't think it will lol)

Bow is the best for Drakes and lone wolves. Mace good for packs of wolves. Pickaxe for Golem.

iron mace > pickaxe. Does more damage and you can couple it with a shield for parrying/stagger.

iron mace for golems, everything else whatever you're comfortable with + bow. Either huntsman or draugr fang with fire arrows upgraded to obsidian or poison arrows once you get obsidian imo should work pretty well

it's been a while since I fought a golem on fair footing so you're probably right. I remember dodging a lot and pickaxing. But I also remember using a mace, so both work just depends if you want to try to parry it. I was too scared a lot lol

that's kinda what I did. The idea of constantly going back and forth to transport iron/copper/tin was really daunting to me, especially with how far a lot of these resources are and how little I can carry at a time. I know I just lost a core part of the game loop, but being able to just teleport around is allowing me to actually progress without getting constantly frustrated. I still plan on making a proper second base in the plains though, partially for a prettier build and partially so I can farm the plains crops + Lox.

There is a nice potential to tree houses in the petrified trees, although space will be an issue unless you make a small series of treehouses in a cluster of trees. I have one for my portal near Bonemass, but I've never used it as an actual base.

As far as I know seekers don't raid in the early biomes. At least I've never had a seeker raid ever, and I have most of my bases in outposts in Meadows, Black Forest and Plains.

no idea I was in my Mistlands farm base at night and saw a real 1* Seeker Soldier so I brought him and another one to the plains to see how many they kill. They killed another 2 loxes then died in a fight against 3 Loxes

They don't have a specific target amount like structures do. They are generated as Vegetation, like branches and regular stones.

I love to force groups of enemies from different biomes to fight. One of my favorite things to do in Valheim. Just drag a dangerous group of elites into a large swarm of enemies and watch them duke it out

to get very good sources of stone for little effort, go to the Plains and find the large pillars of stone. Destroy the base of the stone and you will hear a loud CLAP almost like thunder while tons of stone drops all at once. There are large stone deposits in the mountains you can farm out similarly, but the Plains is the S tier stone farming location

good luck. I went in with a friend, he died super early, and I had to fight Yagluth alone. Make sure to use any hill or pillar to hide behind, you will need it to avoid some attacks

The wood iron beams are mostly used to support higher buildings, it allows you to build bigger - not necessarily stronger

Wooden buildings will stop supporting themselves once you get to a height of about four floors if I remember right. You can build higher with stone, and even higher than that if you support a stone building with wood iron beams

I use 2 eitr, 1 health. Will need 2 eitr foods for raising the dead. Since you can cast spells without stamina, I take the health so I can take a hit and have a bigger hp pool for blood magic. The 3 foods are often seeker aspic, stuffed shroom and misthare supreme. Yggdrasil porridge is better than the shrooms but I got so many blood clots n magecaps it's easier to make lots

And I think there's a mist tier feast but you gotta beat the boss first...

Once inside, they can wander around randomly until they end up at your base. All it takes is you being active in the same general area but not noticing it

The special arrows are different beasts than the straight progression (metal, obsidian, needle) arrows. They float a bit outside progression really. Even fire arrows are viable late in the game since the fire stacks. Poison, I dunno there's so few mobs vulnerable to poison (is there any?) that they're kinda superfluous, I think they only exist for flair.

I always bring a stack of regular damage arrows and a stack of frost arrows. I use fros against whatever is vulnerable to them, or vs stuff I really want to slow down

Me too, but since frost arrows are essentially obsidian arrows plus frost on top, they are costly to make - it takes an effort to farm the necessary mats - so they deserve to be good.

"Cost" is an interesting concept in a game with infinite resources.

The slow effect is what makes them good - deserved.
Out damaging all other arrows except one is what makes them overpowered as fuck - not deserved.

If fire arrows were based on e.g. flint or bronze arrows, they too would have lasted a heck of a lot longer. But they are wooden arrows plus fire, so only work against fire vulnerable foes, sadly

Man, one consistant issue I have with Valheim is Mistlands. I really dont enjoy being in there. Not because its hard, but its a chore to navigate. Pair that with spending an entire day discovering 10 different islands that are 10% mistlands, 40% mountain and 50% plains, and no dungeons ever. Meaning no progression whatsoever because I need cores.... I love Valheim, but god do I hate Mistlands
