#valheim-chat

That would not really make sense since the normal valkyries work for Odin, just as we do 😅
It’d be cool tho
Scythe handle plus black metal; weaponized scythe
Ohh, right, right, that makes sense
Especially since all of valheim seems opposed to Odin
Since it is basically a prison for his enemies that would check out 😄
bru first sailing is always exciting carrying mats for portal setup
Would anyone help me with this bridge I’m building
Is anyone start a new server?
Eeeeek raid while there's chicken in the ovens, don't wanna let them get burnt to coal... Nerve wracking listening to the baddies smashing stuff while waiting for the chickens to roast!
Are you good at building
Not really, but you can also use that channel to make a post that you are looking for help. 🙂
i remember why i love fighting trolls and elder
easy wood and stone/ore gathering
still dont know how i am parrying some of this stuff
Just started playing Valheim and build my first base. Im on day 7 right now. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? Im kinda lost and have no idea where to go.
Listen to the bird, take your time, repairing equipment costs nothing, preparing is key, craft shield and train blocking/parrying and dodging.
Ok thanks! I have heard that there is some bosses i need to take down. Where are they? Do i just travel around and try to find them or do i get their locations somewhere?
First boss location can be found from the starting area, click on Vegvisir and it shows the nearest location.
Ohh. Thanks very much. So I just need to get some more armor and stuff and learn some skills. Then i will face the boss.
Just a quick advice, dont look too much on the skill levels 🙂 while they are nice to have they are really not that important
You can try different weapon types to find the ones you like to use. Each weapon type has their own strengths and weaknesses.
Yes my friend told that dont care about them. I dont really even know what they do so maybe its better that i dont care that much about them 🙂
Is there something thats like heavy. Like a greatsword or something?
time to sell some stuff
Laetr in game, yep.
Is it just me or do only old people use emojis
There are some 2 handed weapon types. Earliest is obtainable/craftable during the second biome.
Ex-hecking-scuse me?! XD
I only see people I know to be at least 30+ years old using emojis like the smily face and other similar ones
I only use emojis if someone else in the conversation does😂
30+ is old?
Comparatively yes
I am in my twenties damn it xD
Dang I'm turning old soon.
hmmm, more research is needed
I rarely see people my age (21) use emojis, but the generations younger than mine use them like crazy
and can't forget 🙏
This one too 💀
I've slowly learned to use them a little bit. 99% because al these darn new fangled tech auto converts my beautiful old asci smilies over to these darn fugly "emojis" kids rant on about these days! Baah! Humbug!
: - )
Click the gear icon, go to "Chat", toggle off "Automatically convert emoticons in your messages to emoji". 😉
Way ahead of you. Unfortunately it doesn't work on everytone elses, and reactions, and a bunch of others.
Ah, yeah cant do anything with that sadly.
Always amuses me that Discord is trying to sell nitro on "more emojis!!!!" and I'm siting here "I'd pay you to let me REMOVE emojis!!!"
this mosquito one tap me while nox was agroed
What gear do you have? You should not die in 1 hit with mountains gear.
bronze
What the hell are you doing in plains then? XD
Plains is the fifth biome. Swamps are next
just defeated Elder and was exploring island before going back found plains beat some goblins got some scrap and gold then died to mosquito while trying to pat nox
i saw that nox near trader i thought they were friendly
They're only friendly once tamed
Nope they are not 🙂 at least at first 😉
anyhow found swamp on same island and snow mountain too cold to go
Swamp materials will give you a way into the mountains
found key from boss sure its for treasure
made poison res and healing potions
never got to use them
Poison resistance mead is very useful in swamps
hope 12 is enough
I would make more 😄
You don't need more immediately, let it ferment while you're out exploring
One mead lasts 10 minutes
You might need more depending how much time you spend in swamps. But those are enough at least during the time when more are fermenting.
Gods below where are all the skulls in this world
Mostly on skeletons 😄 And the really big ones in mistlands
i slept on this bone hammer now i cheesed like stack of entrails with it
You mean Stagbreaker?
yes, these draugr guys wont jump down 2m fall so you can spam hammer on em
till foundation breaks atleast
Yea, it's quite good at early stage of the game.
is it possible to write only in English here?
Rules state English only.
Yes, English only
then I made a mistake with the server(
I do not know English.
You seem to know enough.
It is the official Valheim server. Look in the #1024264966712340510 and ask, you might find a discord in your language
Damn ticks, they almost got me. Is there a trick when you've got two or three attached and not enough stamina to roll? Scary stuff!
Stagbreaker or other sledge.
Boomstick also works.
Gotcha. Whoever thought of making dog-sized ticks into a mob deserves a slap in the face - and a medal. Absolute genius, gods those things are horrible. Two star ones not something you want to get attached..
Demolisher, first thing I craft in mistlands for just this reason...
i would also like to not get attached to a giant tick
The trick is not running out of stamina
Well yes, but sometimes accidents happen 😄
why do serverss hate screenshots so much? I just want to get some advice on how to finish off my house...'
There are channels for that 🙂 #building-tips for example
If images were allowed people could post memes everywhere and reaction spam
I just would like to post where people are actively engaging in chat and not dead channels that 3 people actively pay attention to so that I can get a respsonse before my ADHD takes over and I give up and move on.
See above 😉 and bellow 😄
The ones that are interested in answering that kind of questions will be looking in on the relevant channel anyways.
While those that isn't interested in building tips, will be ignoring it, and get annoyed if people post it in other channels. So it's really just a good way to keep peoples interests aligned in a good way.
Well Im already losing interest, so oh well. Guess Ill just move on to something else
whats the best way to farm cultist trophies
Just going through lots of frost caves really
Clear a LOT of caves
Do we have a number for days to sail from spawn to Ashland? I'm into it for about 4 days atm.
I usually pick the south-most point i have been in that playthrough and go from there, so not really 😄
I'm on a no-map run. Established a fob on a mist island. Certain I'm in range. One storm and good fog along the way. All south and east. I'm perched on this fogless island looking at chain. What a view. Rocking swamp gear. Yolo
Good luck in that case xD
May need it. Double portal setups on these adventures. Lucky I found this spot mob free.
man we just suffered our first bat raid (cauldron) and true to form, they killed Boaromir :/
Noooo, poor guy dying everywhere 😭
oh my gosh im stealing that name lol
Dont or he will die too 😦
fair point... i think its the sean bean curse, he dies in everything
Yeah, so sad every time, it almost always great characters too
Do you guys think the new biome will be added this year or nah?
I'm personally optimistic and I'm gonna say it's gonna be added in December
I personally dont think so, but if it is it will have to be at the end of the year based on past experiences
Oh yeah Ashlands pissed me off
It was like 2 years wait?
i think its definitely possible, since they're fully focused on 1.0's release. i cant say if i think its going to be released this year though
16 months roughly
And Deep North will most likely take longer since it will also be 1.0 release
And we already have 2 trailers
They aren't really trailers, just spoilers
one
Yeah but the terrain looks like well black forest and mountains mashed together, it most likely saved them a a lot of time
What we saw may not have been finished
The most annoying thing for me rn is that drakkar will be useless
But that doesent mean anything really, we got teasers for Ashlands in devblog from January 16th 2023 and Ashlands release to ptb was April 22nd 2024 (full release May 14th). That is a bit more than 1 year and 3 months from the first peek.
You can still use the drakkar lol it has the extra inv space
I’m going with the longship tho cos it’s a pain to travel in
It is slightly slower than longship, but not by large ammount 🙂
Irrelevant, stone portals exist now
It's slower and when they added stone portals the storage doesn't matter anymore
My base is close to Ashlands and using the drakkar will slow me down by probably like 20 min so no thanks
Why would you need to start at your base?
Cuz it's cooler
Drakkar is cooler than longship tho
I have a cool ass port and I will use it
That's exactly why I'm mad about drakkar being useless
Stone portals were a mistake
You don’t have to use them if you don’t want to
Except the bit where it's not.
Kinda but they are cool
It will be useless for deep north
Can you imagine the alternative having to set up base in Ashland’s or lugging flametal through the rock pillars back and forth each time
Landing with drakkar in Ashlands was a pain, those spiky rocks were way too close together
Depends on RNG, I got a blessed landing at the closest island you could see the Ashland’s coastline across the water
I already explored some of the Ashlands so I didn't have a lot of spikes
Looking for the same 😉
When 1.0 hits I'll be starting a whole new world, going from stone age to deep north will be quite a journey
I’m thinking the same but first I wanna explore some on my endgame char and world get a feel for it
I have 2000 days and 900 hours on my server I'm not going to change it
I'll probably use a commands character for public testing and start a new playthrough when 1.0 actually releases
I wonder if they will do any changes to dyrnwyn around 1.0 like uhhhh making it deal more fire damage than a torch
10 fire damage take it or leave it 😎 -irongate probably
It would be nice if it had more 😅
The concept of that weapon is kinda bad, only 1 person can have it and it's still the berserker axes victim
After using the axes I can't go back to a normal sword
I don't like their secondary attack. It has motion which I'm not a fan of and the multipliers aren't great either (1.5 damage, and I think 1.5 knockback too)
The primary attack is great for dps but only against an enemy that's either really weak or already rooted by a different weapon
the berserker axes?
Ashlands weapon
Like the jump? I like the jump but most of the time it does not work
shame
Yes, that's their secondary attack. If I want to move forwards, I'll do it myself. It's just taking control away from the player.
kind of like the wind up on the sword takes too long for the thrust attack
You know that the axes deal the same damage as a normal Ashlands sword but they are faster?
I mean, its kinda similar to the knife jump, can be useful in same situations, just without that juicy backstab bonus 🙂
I know I can cancel animation motion by not holding any movement inputs while airborne but then I can't change my velocity so it's still a small issue
I find it’s perfect for closing the distance or you run near an enemy bait an attack and time your lunge to be in there asap
But jump attacking can already do that if the player wants to, it shouldn't be forced by the attack
The jump part is optional for berserkers? You could jump and do the lunge
Agree, one of the reasons I don't really like knives either, forced movement just isn't fun (for me)
I find it doesn’t work well when enemy pathfinding is bugging
Nothing works well when the pathfinding is bugging
I swear those warriors are moving out of the way on purpose sometimes
I’d like to make a case for large enemies such as trolls vs bow and arrow
It works well there when they at a distance unsure how to get to you but still not intended I guess, I really feel like an upgrade to trolls where they have the awareness of oh yeah it’s a tree between me and the player why don’t I just destroy the tree to get to him would be nice, even if only for the harder difficulties or something
I think they already do that but only if there's no way around, like build pieces. I haven't tested it though
Secondary attack of Berserkir axes + feather cape = speedy glidey travelling method.
I've noticed that's good for moving fast while regenerating stamina if it's from a high place
It's fun way to travel through Mistlands cliffs.
For the armor pieces, yeah. Congrats. 💪
Poison resistance mead has stronger poison resistance but the mask will be good enough if you’re careful
hey! @nocturne wolf could you check #valheim-help i need help with something
Why me
cause u had the roles i thought you fixes for it
😭😭 or anybody please im tryna play valheim
Location ended up being perfect. I'm right outside the boiling waters. So about 4 days ride. Skipping nights.
What roles?
Probably my yellow name, which doesn’t make me any more helpful than anyone else
That just means you have money.
Your actions speak well enough mate
Hey all, sorry if this gets asked all the time, but what do people usually do when they want to change up the experience for a new playthrough? So far I've played two worlds, all solo, all vanilla minus some mods to make the game slightly easier because I am a filthy casual
Mess with world modifiers mostly 🙂 or give yourself a rule of using only certain weapon type, those kinds of self imposed rules can be quite fun to play around with
Trying a different diet can significantly change how you play
Thanks! I'll try to think of something.
I may have a hard time switching weapons, I'm addicted to the fire staff lol
Different challenges can be fun way to try different playstyles. Like "bows only" or "2h weapons only".
Ingame right? Cos, y'know, I like my food.
Or trying to defeat all bosses without any deaths.
What about making the switch to multiplayer? I'd have to do a public server or something, do those exist and how do people usually interact? I don't think I'd like constant pvp or anything like that
Pvp requires both players to allow it
Look in #1024264966712340510 😉
Servers are run by players who allow others joining, there are no public servers running by devs.
oh okay. I thought there might be ones ran by people with hosted servers like on Palworld
Do people on servers usually try to play at the same time and progress at the same pace?
But yeah there is that channel Asatru mentioned where you can search for people to play with you.
Or do you just kinda do your own thing in a world with others running around doing their own thing
Valheim is designed to be played with a single coordinated group on each server
The lesson I feel like I should be getting here is that I need to make my friends play 😂
Coop is fun with close friends, strangers may wary what kind of people there are.
Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking
Thanks all for the suggestions! I shall ponder
At bit of both, and some people still do their own thing on a server but just want to have others around to help or do look at their creations and such. Basically some people interact more with others while some interact less, depends on the people really. Doing things together feels great in Valheim, like mining 2 leviathans together, both having a pickaxe, you get more stuff. (An example I did a few days ago)
Ye
Thanks!
Found a Frost Cave yesterday with a tetra fish pool at the 1st level and the basement was full of bad guys. No golems, No Fishing pole, & no Lore Marker Stone 😢
Those types of caves are rare enough but not get the campfire and stuff, it was a bit of a bummer. However I didn't fight one golem so thats a plus in a way i suppose
Man I can't wait to trek the ice zone with the new viking motorbike
i can still parry projectiles
Ok?
Nice 🤘
i thought it was a bug where enemies would be vulnerable to counter even if they use bows or stones from far
Nope it's intentional 👍
Devs decided it was fun and left it like it is now
They "fixed" it for a bit, but it turned out that it's not unbalanced and it has a lot of character being able to do it, so they put it back in.
yeah what Pita said is also true, some players have come up with "lore" that the rock throwing greydwarf is so stunned about you parrying the rock that they will freeze for a moment, same as if you would have parried a melee attack
or the skelly archer and whatnot, whatever it is
how far is magic or elemental weapons from iron tier?
third biome from swamp
damm a bit to get there solo
Magic is a game changer but it takes time to get it
True, but i choose to look at it in the way that we will have it for the last third (and bit more because 3/8 of biomes) of the game 🙂
Which quite enough imo
there is a modifier for portals allow everything , damm could be handy
But you shouldn't use it unless it's like your 10th playthrough or so, sailing is an important part of the game @torpid yarrow
10th playthrough FR?
Do whatever you want 🙂 but you will miss out on the feeling of hauling a longship full of iron to your base and relaxing on the way
sea serpent is waving
Heh, 10 arrows and bye bye 😄
i havent encountered a wraith or sea serpent yet
For the first time they can be quite intimidating 🙂
made this abyssal harpoon for it too
do you guys plough your path while exploring?
Like with a hoe?
yea got tired of pathing after a while
No, why would you?
picked that habit from enshrouded
anyone else here filling up the hole you made after mining copper?
So much wasted stone 😄 nope
Yes, every player should experience massive shipments of iron:))
I don't even bother digging up copper. Copper is abundant, it's actually faster to just move on to the next node after you've gotten everything from the surface.
Sailing music ❤️
I usually smoothen it up a bit and then use the cultivator to sow grass to make it look like it was reclaimed by nature. Even if I know I'm not going to move around in that forest again - it just feels good.
That's a tip for anyone who does a lot of terraforming when building - use the cultivator to sow grass even on the rocky edges - gives them a much nicer texture than the "here was Viking-Bob with his pickaxe 'n hoe" samey texture you get from terraformed rock.
I'd actually love if that happened naturally over time
Big bones from the crypts. He is quite rotten, so bring something that gives you fortitude (poison resist...)
Bonemass is indicative of what you need
mass?
inhale the poison like a man
i have root mask for res and some potions
deer stew/sausage/black soup -120hp
iron mace and shield
iron sledge for Aoe in case of multiple
Potions are enough 🙂 and these actually give you better resistance than the mask
i wonder how much area to clean before fight
Just make sure you start early, you don't want the fight to drag on into night or the adds might become too much
You need a mass of bones
This 👆
Most important question:
do you have a secure portal near the altar?
its in walk distance near my boat
so healing pots have cooldown
with mask and poi res pot i get 1 tick hp loss for 6 seconds
investing in mace for right choice
when did IG change items so they stack automatically? only noticed this with coal from kilns so far. i have no mods installed
you can forget the mask (and maybe put on headgear with more armor) if you use potions: poison resistance doesn't stack, potions give better resistance so it will override the mask. Only reason you could keep the mask is the set bonus for archery, but it's not of much use in a melee bonemass fight
i mean he dead didnt take too much poison dmg and food kept outhealing most of the time since i rely on parry armor shouldnt matter
also for backup portals maybe is better to make a little tree house on one of the swamp's inderstructible trees and keep the portal and boat materials there, hundred times i foud destroyed portals/boat in the swamps
lol what no portal limit is the best dude
for casual experience everything is fine right
woah blunt/slash and pierce res nani
just rush krom and evrything wilkl be over
im still in iron age i got krom
whats krom?
just rush mistlands balck forge doesnt need etr
a greatsword you can typically create around the 6th biome
no just rush mistlands
i am at 3 i think dont wanna be op since i overprep in each tier fights are normal anyways
3?
just clear bonemass 3rd boss
dude ifi were to strat again i would just rush krom its so stisfyijng to get it early plus u get arbalest
i am playing after 2021 taking my time last time did with group where progression was shared amongst so dont know progression path so trying all steps this time
found a alchemy lady dont know what those items are for
love potion is it related to taming?
nope, you want to buy "pungent pebbles" from the Bog Witch for that purpose
waiting on frost res pots
Love potion has an intentionally "obscure" use ||makes Trolls spawn more frequently and more likely to have stars||
devs trolling hehe
you can make frost res pots, no Bog Witch involved, all ingredients can be found in swamps or previous biomes
i know they are fermenting waiting patiently fixing base
oh ok right "waiting"
storage sorting and moving has become a chore any tips?
always ferment ratatosk
what that?
||last i played final boss was big skelly guy summoning meteors||
was nutty fight we had a dedicated cook back then
Nice! 🔥
havent spotted serpent made the hookthat can drag it if i remember things sunk
what does game mean crossbow skill?
main and most useful drops (meat) will float, if you need scales or trophy yes, you have to lure them near shore, and harpoon helps at doing that, but i always found sufficient to lure them, jump off boat and finish them when in shallow water
strange you have it listed if you didn't hit ||Mistlands|| yet, from then on crossbows ||will be craftable and have a separate dedicated skill||ù
and probably you already know, but if you need serpents you have to scout the open oceans at night and/or during thunderstorms to make them spawn
been travelling in ocean for a while fingers cross
i just want to get recipes unlocked for serpent stuff i know the nox meat is good reliable source once i can KIll one
yup serpent stew is an awesome heath food, ||better than anything you can craft in Plains and almost paired with Mistlands-tier health foods,|| serpent scales can get you ||a very fancy looking tower-class shield, with pierce resistance too, but i never found it of much use (personally don't really care about tower shields)||
cant cook it says cant carry serpent meat or soemthing
You need to use an iron cooking station
Yeah those lumps are way too massive for a flimsy little wooden cooking stand. Check their weight! 😄
dam
yeh wooden cooking station wouldn't even fit the model size probably
serpent meat is not reliable source but damm it gives a lot of hp and stuff
For the first time ever I have actually run out of serpent meat, I had massive stores but it seems I have nearly made them go extinct
greys and skellys fighting outside my house
frost pots ready time to explora
can i tame wolf with bones?
i am on all meat diet 200hp gang
You should eat at least one stamina food, and cooked health foods are almost always better than meat available to you
You tame them with meat
nope, any meat (not wolf's ofc), raw fish or sausage
Serpent stew, sausages and turnip stew was my mountain conquering combo
wai you can actually tame em i was making minecraft joke
You can tell if a creature is tameable because it will show ‘wild’ when aimed at
The weight doesn't matter, the cooking stations have a unique manually set list of what they can cook.
Was more of a curiosity thing, the bigger problem would be its size, the serpent meats are nearly bigger than the wooden cooking stand..
(if you tried to make them go on it, say with a mod or something)
fought drakes and wolfs got 2 dragon eggs but need more stam to climb hill
Serpent meat is an amazing chow, but nothing looks better than that shield 🤩
If I could, I would exclusively hunt serpents for them so I can decorate my halls
you definitely need it, will serve you well with mountain-tier weapons, maybe crafts one of the best weapons ever, much different than iron sledge tho
yeh, shame it's a tower so not of much use for me, but looks so good with plains armor i put it on just to decorate character selection screen
It's not great as a main shield but because its pierce resistance stacks with other sources you can take incredibly low damage from pierce attacks. You can take 0 damage from fader's spin with high enough block skill
uh nice i'll note that, good thing some endgame mechanics give scale shield some combat dignity 😁
breezing through mountain content waiting on silver to cook
cant decide between wolf or fenrir armor
Fenris armor takes a lot of 🎰 and patience to obtain (I have neither
)
was in cave got lotta hair
How much?
stack +
I rarely find any more than 10 if I'm lucky
destroy curtain looking things?
I know how it generates, I never find good caves
I love when the frost caves generate very vertical
Just looks cool and nice way to get some jump skill
Any silver weapon other than frostner will do, and you should bring a bow with obsidian arrows to deal damage while she flies. Other than that it doesn't really matter.
Building a terrain pillar to hide behind helps for her projectile attack
oh big drake gotcha
lol screw that I use frostner anyway and it’s low damage but you can level up blunt skill a lot
I normally use the iron mace I make for bonemass if I only made a frostner
will iron slege work?
Its dps isn't great, a fang spear is a good cheap option
I mean it can but it’s kinda slow
Hello everyone, is it okay if i don't buy the valheim soundtrack DLC?
The soundtrack dlc doesn't do anything in-game. It allows you to download the audio files of the soundtrack to listen to at any time.
oh i see
Thanks
hi
so how do i carry 600 pound eggs to hill top?
You don't need to carry them all at the same time
2 trips? Heresy 😅 🧐
when souting found a lair so done in 1 trip
its tanky as hell summon too many minions but i rolled under its chin and kept slashing
Noon gjall.
so destroying a pillar looking mountain only gave storage full of stones
gotta make a outpost in plains for regional crops i guess
I recommend making an outpost at every biome you go too. With a portal
Some would be smaller than others
is there a chace that they will one day add an DLC or something?
That would be post 1.0 content I guess, and that is something they're not talking about yet
Meanwhile, you can regard every content update as a free DLC...
i try to stock up on biome before moving to next one
i have one home beacon and one current biome beacon
i mean portal and goblins destroyed my ship dang it
are valheim worthto buy nowadays?
yes
I think it's worth it, my brother and I just beat it yesterday, and we had fun. So much fun that we're doing it again
Me listening to the Ashlands ocean theme every day 😂😅
Hi 👋
Yeah - plains is the new meadows for that purpose
so i smelted black metal bar didnt unlock weapons related to it??
Black metal needs new farmable item to make weapons
ooh interesting
You actually use a LOT of that to make plains armor as well
And a liiiittle bit of iron
Yes, shields have styles 🤩
Mine are always a nice blue 🥳
Farm lox for their meat 🍖
They make excellent pies 🥧
Have you found boggy the big witch by the way?
yes and did you know you can jump on lox head and go on town with melee?
Yes but build a little house with a portal to every biome you go. Trust me you will have to revisit most later. Also have a separate portal at home named “backup” just in case
Indeed 😂
It’s possible to get to Ashlands with a normal boat I found out. U gotta Wack those rocks open or some ur able to place a workbench to repair the boat but no matter what u can’t hit a rock or ur dead. I made it to shore naked and afraid and was briskly murdered.
Shame man 😂
It’s like Bear Grills but you actually died
It was one hell of a adventure tbh
okay thankss dude
Rule one of sailing to Ashlands:
Don’t touch the bubbly coolade 😂
It’s not actually that cool 🤭
Can confirm - is very good 🔥
suree ill buy it
I usually wait a couple more days after the bee hive is 4/4 because I like to think that when they fill the 4 honey they use the extra to feed eachother and stay happy
In current sale price it is definitely worth it.
How do you transport silver in mountains?
Cart downhill.
Carrying it
on me back
Carts or the other portals I think. Or carry it with the belt
Or throw a cart down the side
On my world I used a hoe, and made a flat path along the spine of the mountain until I was close to my base and then I rode it down the mountain
My pov
yeaa thats whyy , but if im may ask how about corekeeper , corekeeper vs valheim which is better? cause some of my friends say both are likely the same
The real chad’s build a boat and sails your way down 😂
oh i needed linen for some of the recipes
Low-key did that one time
I have both but I have not played Corekeeper yet. And I've played Valheim 2.7k+ hours.
corekeeper for now are exp as hell tho waiting for the lowest sale
Have you seen the video of the guy surfing a boat down a mountain off a ramp?
Core keepers cool
The music is chill, the atmosphere is decent for what it is
so u prefer corekeepers?
Nah man, I prefer valheim.
As someone who loves the sailing in this game and I have just learned I can sail on land makes me sad
Personal preference, but it's nice looking up into the sky on valheim
Well with core keepers you're just in the ground
Corekeepers looks like a discount stardew valley
alright ill buy the gamee thanks for both of u guys !!!
💀
I haven't played corekeeper yet but Valheim has living breathing 3D world you can immerse yourself in.
It’s a completely different kind of game
It seems to be 15€ on Steam currently with 25% off, same normal price as Valheim.
i like the looks of the game because its like terraria with better graphics
Yes I said looks
Yup 😂
The gaps of getting better gear feel consistent and even
Terraria is 2d?
They are completely different games, Corekeeper is more like isometric Terraria with far less content.
Core keeper uses 3d graphics which is how the lighting is so detailed. You can find screenshots showing the camera at a different angle
yeaaa
so corekeeper content are lesser than terraria hmmmm
I like the fishing, and making the food in Core keeper
atleast i ll buy the valheim for sure r8 now
but are there any mods for the corekeeper?
I'm sure there's mods for it, it's been out long enough
I hope devs gonna keep adding more content even after 1.0 so I don't have to look for another game.
eh isnt it the game launch since 2024?
Bugfixes after 1.0 but no new content.
Core Keeper has built-in mod support
february 2021
Dang, I know I'm being selfish and ungrateful but that kinda makes me sad.
aaaahh aightt
Maybe you're not looking at the bigger picture on what the whole game offers
Game is already great as it is now and we don't know yet what 1.0 patch will bring alongside with Deep North.
I guess, I was hoping they'd add more depth to ocean biome(no pun intended) And fishing more useful.
More meads were added in latest content patch.
And more food
Merely offering examples of what they could add in addition of deep North
They probably will do something to Ocean, but I assume it will not get same kind of progression as the other biomes.
Figured the ocean was fleshed out enough with the leviathans, but there are other people that want more
I'm sure you're not the only one that's asking for more, hobbyist
I enjoyed fishing to make Fish wraps, troll endurance potions and anti-sting medicine.
More hostile mobs and some POIs in Ocean would be nice tbh.
I think the analogy big fish eat little fish is why we don't have medium sized fish
If every major biome has added new food and recipes then that's a very obvious one
Also at one instance I went out of my way to go into the ocean with my friends to hunt Serpents to make serpent stew. Now that I think of it ocean biome already has many great uses.
Would be cool to see like a boathouse that has an NPC on it, and that's where you would buy fishing bait and fishing poles
But that's asking too much
Lol that's what I've been feeling.
Does it warrant you enough to make that first step and see if you could try to model one?
I don't know if you're an artist man, I'm just spitballing here
I'm an artist but Architecture isn't my strongest suit. I'm more of a character person.
I don't think anybody would be interested in my functionable rectangles.
Hell, with the deep North content, and the addition of seals that would be like the passive animal that would sit on the boat house with the NPC
Oh right, I forgot about Deep North. We do have more content.
hello
Hello
Good morning, my bed is comfy and I shall never leave it
0.217 valheim lets play
I'm currently busy with two play throughs. With my friends and my solo world. Sorry man, can't join right at the moment.
And I'm on a Boss Rush run with my brother on his valheim world
Just saying that the deep north barely has a teaser so it’s gonna be like 2 years before we get it
Bro...
That’s just gross
More time waited = better update, but I don't think it will be that long
lets play valheim anyone
It’s gonna be 3 years
MAN SHUT UP!!!
You can make a post in #1024264966712340510 🙂 no need to spam
why
Idk why but people with ai pfp’s are mad annoying
Then play with others if u don’t enjoy it?
Yeah I get that. I don’t have friend so I don’t have anyone to play with so I don’t play anymore. It’s been awhile but my latest adventure was arriving at the Ashlands in a normal boat butt naked
The last part is funny haha
because being obnoxious is obnoxious
Also, you’re more likely to find players in the channel dedicated to finding groups to play with 🤔
Why is rain deteriorating certain wood structures such a big deal for some people? Is it just cause of the aesthetics or am I missing something?
I think often, players who build large structures feel somewhat restricted, perhaps. I actually like the weathering effect, but if I had to guess this might be part of the reason.
"Missing HP, unplayable".
Probably aesthetics.
just baked some lox pie
unbaked craft option was in food prep table which must be new
The food prep table was added in the bog witch update and is where you craft feasts and unbaked food
padded armor looks stale skippable?
Depends on how you play really, I like it since alway go heavy armour, and the nasties in Mistlands hit hard
After yagluth you go to mistlands, and ashlands is the biome after that
Aye, and depending on how lucky/unlucky one gets with exploring Mistlands, the necessary tools to make Mistlands tier stuff can take a long time to obtain. Moving around Mistlands for any amount of time in sub-par equipment can hurt a lot.
Looks like I'm gonna want to level up my crafting as much as I possibly can so I can get the most out of my bronze bars
(Plus I found two copper nodes right next to each other, so that's neat af)
Remember you can sleep at noon to skip maximum time
You get a new pickaxe in mistlands
remember there being a black metal variant did they add new requirements or something?
It has always needed a type of wood from mistlands
You can often obtain it before beating ygg by harvesting trees in the misty border
i am close to purple -ish biome should i peak?
I think it's best not to go to new biomes until defeating the previous boss
Personal preference there.
For sure I only follow that rule with swamp and Ashland’s lol
It is useful in several cases
Mountains is the biggest case for some early upgrades to meads and getting started on farming the crops early
Or frost arrows
And getting frost weapons to deal with BM
I was thinking more mountains plains but swamp mountains works too tbh
I stab BM with a spear. For the gains 😜
BM power is such a useful one you really don’t want to skip it
Not me rocking Eikthyr power to the very end
Yea aesthetics, weathering is also just an odd mechanic to have, because mechanically a weathered 2 meter beam vs a full hp beam is still gonna be slaughtered by any raid, so what's the point of the mechanic?
Too bad Wishbone does not have treasures to discover after mountains.
I only notice or care when some things are water damaged and not others. Looks off/inconsistent.
Wishbone does find other treasures
Yeah I feel like it’s an early game idea that they never developed fully tbh, it doesn’t affect stability either afaik
Is this confirmed? I never bother to use wishbone after mountain so I wouldn’t know lol
Would make for a good suggestion
Same, actually, have not used it in ashlands though
The buried treasure lined out by stones in the meadows (ships?). The dolmens too iirc.
It’d be nice if the wishbone worked for giants in mistlands just to make them a little easier to locate at the cost of sacrificing visibility
Probably would tell us where buried scrap piles are in the swamp as well
I can’t imagine how many structures I’ve missed cause of the damn mist
Yeah the wishbone can be used in meadows swamps and mountain not sure about future biomes tho
Would be weird tho because wisplight and wishbone take the same utility slot 💀
snuck in saw a dwarf fighting an insect assisted the insect but it attacked me so killed it too
Yeah only downside lol
Can't see just follow the metal detector and don't worry about the 📯 that's just Dvergr going on union break
saw a camp fighting tar felt weird
Yeah if you hit them they go hostile, so if you want to assist and stay on their good side, don't use AoE and take care to aim properly.
I think Sam was implying they helped the insect kill the Dverger. But the insect attacked Sam so it had to be killed too?
yes
Haha 😹 love it
now time to yagluth any tips for smooth sail?
Use fire resistance barley wine
Silver sword
Wind it your back and clear skies are best for SMOOTH sail
Frostner is good too if you didn't craft Silver sword.
Can't forget moder power too
I assumed it was to encourage players to use specific walls (stake walls) and not the regular wood walls? So a lot of the time your walls would only be 1/2 as effective if used as defensive walls around your base or something? But base defense it’s on own topic anyways 😅
I think the mechanic is interesting, but there just isn’t a lot going on with it, I suppose. To sum up, I get where the building community is not in favor of it.
i totally didnt forget to attach morder trophy for power ups
Indeed, what I meant is that it doesn't always happen - if you take care not to hit the dorf, the dorf stays happy 🙂
It's more of, if something gets to your home, its irrelevant if the pieces are weathered or not, shit is still going to get blasted down, so why do we have the weathered mechanic in the first place
i have 2 portals at base one is set to Home permanently second one is nameless i change to whatever other portal i wanna go to when i return i can always remember my last point
last time had a portal room where it became nutty to organise without building big
now just need 2
I like the weathering mechanic.
- It explains why all the wrecks we find around the maps are worn down.
- Teaches players to make roofs, both for rest and keeping things intact
- Just a small realistic touch that keeps things feel rooted, at least to me.
My main problem with it is rather that the repair only repairs a single object at a time, if it had a small aoe and could repair multiple nearby that (and other issues) would be less annoying.
If there was an aoe repair I'd be completely find with the mechanic, but as it is right now the weathering mechanic is just annoying and inhibits the creative process for many players, and most serious builders mod it out anyways
introducing a problem then creating easy solution would be redundant so single repair at time so you plan well so everything is visible for repairs
And it honestly never even been something I considered to use wood as walls to defend a base since.... meadows or early BF ? Basically until I met my first troll, and then that idea was thrown out.
Huh, I mean yeah that makes sense- like for players who build using high details, must be annoying to click on 5 unique pieces instead of what might appear to be one.
Yup, the single target repair has always annoyed me.
Which is why I really wish they added even a small tiny aoe around it. (So I mod that in, because otherwise I just can't bother repair)
make it interesting build those ladder thingies like in irl to repair stuff
https://discordapp.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202934384643154001/1351214026197303346 Don't even wanna think about the repair process for a build like this
But yeah, the end result of repairing + single target repair = I build my base so no mobs can even remotely touch it. Through terraforming, pathfinding, and any other means I can. Which tends to make my bases rather boring.
boring is nice
Man I love the vibes of this build the creative use of logs for fences and just the colour palette in general
Hey, free crafting xp.
Yeah this is a good example- that bridge that’s like maybe 6m long in the middle there could be like 3 pieces long, which would be obviously easy to repairs but because it’s made up of many small prices, the repair process is a lot more convoluted. However, if using the repair feature was -for example- a .5 radius, you could repair a lot of that bridge in one “swing” of the hammer.
Except the crafting skill is so useless 💀
Does it reduce durability drain on the hammer at all
My "Main base" (aka Bank), is under an Elder altar with a single opening, so small that a viking can barely squish through. Have to wall run up to get out. Steep enough that no monster willingly walks down. Then have earth walls around the entire altar on the outside, so the only thing that can reach there is flying.
So the only enemy that CAN reach my base is a bat raid. Which I can preven just standing in the opening and body block them while attacking.
I tend to eventually build a stone wall that has an earthwall core. Looks a helluvalot better than earthwalls, stops mobs from entering and even if they smash some bits to crap it's quickly repaired, and it allows a safe base to look good.
Having it extend hammer durability somehow would be good
It does but that's really not that desirable if you have like 2 stam foods 💀
Or a couple feasts 🤔
Also, building close to water so you can have a waterfilled moat, by using the cultivator to plant "grass" you get it to look really nice
Back when crafting skill affected to possibly crafting double weapon/armor pieces. 👴
You got pics
Back in my day ahhhh situation
Literally last October.
Crafting skill? Oh right.... that new fangled stuff with the bog which update.... haven't figured out what it does yet :p
Think I saw a couple of other new skills as well, but they felt pretty irrelevant, so ignored them.
It ||increases the crafting speed|| and ||increases chances to produce extra non-weapon/armor craftable, like bronze, nails, bombs and arrows||.
Cooking and farming are other 2 new skills.
That.... just feels so useless.... like.... why even bother ?
It's just a nice little extra. Getting a proc when you cook ingredient-heavy recipes feels hella good
For the low price of f-f-free
A lottery where the grand prize is pocket lint 😅
There shouldn't be any lottery in the first place though
But luck favors the winner.
But muh random hits of dopamine
Lotteries are fun 🎉
Would that help fighting against crippling gambling addiction IRL?
It's not really a lottery... you always get at least what you would expect for the invested resources. It's just sometimes you get another.
Really, I'm just sitting here baffled, wondering why the heck anyone spent time putting something this useless into the game :-/
because luck rewards players 🙂
-Smiffe #valheim-public-test message
No that sounds like a twelve step program
If anything it's annoying because it messes up my stacks by adding one more I wasn't expecting 😛
I'm also greatful for the free thing. But triggered by the change in quantity. Spectrum things I reckon
dead he does a lot of aoe and fire dmg
Ngl it feels really nice when you get extra bronze when crafting it from copper and tin.
Sam you're a machine
Got an extra bell once
Did you use the Frostner? It's the most OP weapon in the game, relevant for the longest time and against the most threats
Which was fitting, my friends thought, as I have made bells IRL
Frostner the most op weapon in the game? NAHHHHHH
It just feels unfair though. Why are some players with the same crafting skill getting more bronze from the same ingredients?
I've gotten extra bell too. And extra Sealbreaker.
Or when you found one turnip flower in five swamps. Then when harvesting get free turnips. Yes please
I do love "ting" 😄 what is not to love about getting extra for free every now and then 😄
Staff of wilds, staff of protection, staff of embers, himmin afl and bows have entered the chat
Relative to when you get it, it is. There are definitely stronger weapons, but given that it is solid even three biomes past when you get it, it's OP.
Crazy
Atgeir enters chat >.>
Not the most OP but the MVP of all weapons due to its usefulness.
Yeah, Iron mace and Frostner can keep you through 4 biomes.
Yeah, that's probably a better wording for it
It's valuable, not the most op weapon
Most OP...Bow?
Most OP: Hoe > Pickaxe > Stagbreaker > Bow
With high bow skill lvl at least.
Ahh I've seen this argument for terraforming being strongest mechanic in the game. Still not weapons
Strongest weapon is probably the cheat sledge
The strongest mechanic of them all: hoeing.
My path game is pretty strong
Strongers weapon, the campfire
Side note: Less than a week into a no-map run I'm hosting and all traders are located and have portals. Feels good
I've ran some various self challenge games, where I often have to use what I find in specific areas etc. So I've ended up killing I think every boss up to Yag with Stagbreaker. Because I didn't find enough other things to make enough other gear to make other viable strategies.
finding all the traders on no map is crazy work
This crew is crazy good. So I went on a suicide run to far south to up the anti. Ashland's waters in sight! Now to find Moder, Yag, and Queen
Queen is likely going to be pita.
No u
Lol loving the humor this Monday. Doing good work o7
Next no-map run portals turn off and difficulty increases.
That’s brutal 😅 good luck!
took 28ish mins to beat him
should have cleared the village next to spawn and noxes too
Nice
dont have photo elipsy but almost got one
Thanks Dogg. I love this way of playing. Got lucky with an incredible group tbf. But I'm thinking no portals really solidifies the point of no map. Found a trick that almost feels to good. I can maintain direction whether in fog or major storm.
One day I’d love to give no-map a shot, would love to build roads that help build a story and help with direction
Probably sometime after 1.0 though, because I can see myself and potentially others playing on a map like that for a very long time.
Roads and landmarks/light towers are huge for these runs. Id love to do long term no-map with people here.
The trick is workbench. You can pull it out while on a boat and get it to pop up visually. I haven't seen other pieces do this. So with this we can keep track of what cardinal direction we are facing at all times. Huge when tree isn't always visible
so yagluth gives resistance to his shenanigans
yea
Heh yep
the wisps demand darkness so i put it in closed room?
Wait until night
The wisps demand darkness- please close the curtains and blow out your candles.
I like to make compasses as I travel. Sometimes make them look like sculptures of serpents. Head is always north.
Like the dragon adornments? 🤔 that’s pretty cool!
Kinda yea. But with build pieces to make a rough sculpture.
Angled beams and angled walls to make a body and wings. So they act as directional landmarks when sailing close.
I wish we could have longer distances for something like bonfires for beacons. Or maybe it'd be nice if we could make an actual beacon that was visible much further away (maybe eitr based?) for navigation like that, but wasn't useful for a light source so people wouldn't be encouraged to spam it or anything.
Hmm there could definitely be potential for something like that, seeing how that’s how we find fortresses in the Ashlands? 🤔
Larger render distance but not useful as light spam. That would be amazing
Oak trees have an incredible render distance. Can't be planted on Mistlands soil unfortunately
I remember one user used pine trees to help mark his map
I've done both oaks and pines, they're both useful like that. Just not super visible at night 😉
Especially in the plains or meadows, where those don't normally grow
Strongest weapon is whatever you're best at using. Me, I've never seen the greatness in Frostner for example, because I prefer killing stuff quickly, before they can hit me, and Frostner's knockback often makes the second swing in the combo miss, plus it hits like soggy noodles, so it's been condemned to wall decoration since forever...
For sure. I wonder if the render distance of golem trophy or similar is further than bonfire
It would have to be of spotlight nature. Only visible from a distance out. But not offering light down or around itself. This is a great idea!
I've been using wisplights as "fairway" markers along bits I sail often, to mark stones and shallows etc. They're not visible very far, but far enough to make corrections to your heading
Quick to place without workbenches etc, and no refuelling necessary
how many wisps do i need?
The Frostner is the heaviest source of elemental damage in early game, before you get magic in the Mistlands, and the only melee source of it. Plus it slows the enemies. Given that Seekers are resistant to all physical damage it basically reduces the combat time until you get the Mistwalker or whatnot. You aren't forced to use it, but using what you're best at can still be inferior to learning a new skill.
All the wisps.
setup 3 fountains
Just collect them regularly 😉 You will need them for wisp lights mostly.
By the time I enter Mistlands I have a blackmetal sword fully upgraded and sword skill at or near 100, I've never seen any reason to use Frostner, although I did bring it along for the longest time before I realised I never actually used it.
Only times I swap to a club is for golems, and then the iron mace is a better choice anyway
Derleth The Slayer of Goblins.
Every single one!
I brought this up year ago. I still would like frost bombs.
oooh
Vikings could never understand the advanced technology behind snowballs
glands from drake could be repurposed
wisps hate me i catch em before they reach fountain
anyone looking to start a SMP server with me? just either vanilla or a couple of mods from thunderstore. Looking to make new friends too who also enjoy this game. Dm me if interested! Thanks!
so the Crow just left me saying cant babaysit you through game
#1024264966712340510 is where you want to post that stuff, not here 🙂
i dont know where to progress since last time i played only upto here
I'm the opposite, I crafted the Mistwalker, equipped it, and tried using it against the first enemy I found and it said "Sword skill is now 1 !"
And I realised I did more damage with Forstner because skill 75+
Once you get some wisps you should be able to make a wisplight. Make it, and it should clear some mist 😉
ok step 1 make wisp headlamp and head to mistlands
If you hear a foghorn in the Mistlands, drink a barleywine
I wish I would have known that like 10 deaths in advance of those floating jerks
wearing my root chest in case of deathsquito type enemies
Ticks only deal pierce damage, dvergr rogues deal pierce on their ranged attack and most seeker attacks are pierce too
Just stay the heck away from Soldiers :p and there's plenty of things with fire.
how can i change the screenshaking when punching a tree?
You can disable screenshake somewhere in settings
maybe i am tired or something but mistlands traversal is confusing and hard
It is, it's kind of the biomes "stick".
Jump mead feather cape and ratatosk are a huge help
And eikthyr tbh if you running heavy armor especially
"Schtick", it's a yiddish word 😉 But yes, you've gotta really apply your stamina management skills.
hi guys ı need help
I learned that it was a Yiddish word from a pretty funny episode of Murdocks Mysteries
There was a pair of comedians, and one dies, so the whole episode the other is thinging what his new schtick will be
The show is set 1890, about, and in the end the comedians new schtick ends up being a can of shoe polish...
Good Night).
Starred soldiers, gods below
my old Valhiem world bugged
Its one month younger than when the game released, the Ashlands update cut into the terrain of a blackforest causing the trees to fall into the water XD
what used to be a forest is a now a ocean with trees floating in it
That's not a bug. Ashlands are now separated from all other biomes by an ocean.
i know its not a bug now XD, its hillarious tho
'my old Valhiem world bugged' - 'i know its not a bug XD' Um...
Dude pick a narrative xd
just figured id share a goofy thing i found
next time ill just keep the things i find to myself then
Anyone know any good servers, and also ik there is secret combos for the sword are there any others I don’t about?
i just stared playing few weeks ago, played with my friend (ha had over 400h play thru) but i guess he got bored. Are there any servers for noobs to get killed together?
The secret combos are a bug. I know it works for most weapons, but it isn't anywhere near as effective
Wow!! I did not know that, but crazy that a bug can be a somewhat cool “feature” thanks for the info.
here's to me praying my world isn't too effected for the launch of Deep North 🤣
If you've not visited Deep North you shoudl be absolutely fine.
It should only affect terrain within the deep north. An ocean has already been added to separate it from other biomes
So you don't have to start a new world every time a major content update comes out?
Good to know
Absolutely not, never have done.
I have completed most of the mistlands. Which is the strongest weapon I can make?
Mistwalker is a good option for everything in ashlands and the mistlands boss
Same here, last play through I did involved using Mistwalker. The frost damage is good enough, the spirit damage is just the cherry on top
Wish my skill was high enough to use it through the Ashland, but the gap in slash damage between nidhogg and Mistwalker is a bit big
The slow it gave was good enough that I could dodge before their swing started, and then close in again with another swing before the freezing debuff timed out
Maybe I was underestimated the reach in the beginning and started getting better on the timing of my swing
Good sword
thanks for the information
The mistland bow and sword were the best options for me
At high skill level, you can deal with just about anything with ease, with that bow
Krom is also good option against the Queen. Its secondary attacks deal huge damage.
Staff of Embers is the answer to almost any question 😛
is it good? i mean the high slash damage looks enticing
The stamina cost is high but if you manage it well it is incredibly powerful
now THAT is a sword i want to get my hands on, just got scured of its insane cost for metal
Krom deals higher total damage than Mistwalker, but has slightly more stamina cost. But should be fine when you have Mistlands tier foods.
You could wait for the slayer in ashlands, only costing 30 metal
meh, but the block armour for it tho. i'd have to go full health at that point
But Krom is gorgeous.
Or you can dodge
The secondary can stagger most smaller enemies thanks to the high damage and still parry the weaker ones too
parrying is soo satisfying tho
good to know. i'll keep that in mind with my current playthrough
I prefer a perfectly executed jump attack
Jump lunge attack is quite nice, true.
those become viable at like jump level 60something
Ratatosk tonic and lightfoot mead help with that too.
hello there
true and real
anyone know how to send friends the world files? or import the sent files to my game?
And some like use feather cape in addition of that.
Even at jump 0 you can use a jump attack for a little more range, you just won't be able to dodge as much
so what is secondary attack for Krom? is it like a poke or something?
Similar to 1 handed secondary, big stab.
You need to go to C:\Users\ "your user name" \AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim and there you should see worlds_local folder where you will find .db and .fwl files which you need to send your friend, if you dont see the worlds_local folder that means you have it on cloud but you can move it to local in game 🙂 (the appdata folder is normaly invisible btw)
Importantly, you need both files! You can't just use one or the other.
It has the same multipliers as 1h sword secondary too, 3x damage
Mistwalker is a beauty
Basically functions as 1 handed with similar attack patterns but 2 handed swords have MTP.
Krom is a good alternative to one handed sword but I don't like swords in Valheim to begin with, it feels like nothing is really weak to slashing damage
If I want slashing damage I like daggers better
Knives/daggers have split slash/pierce dmg 🙂
Yes
Swords are honestly kinda overrated tho
It's slow and it's basically a club that deal slashing damage
Nothing is really weak to slashing damage, but most things don't resist it, either. The biggest benefit swords have is they don't have a multi-target penalty, when you hit multiple things (including rocks and trees and walls) it doesn't reduce your damage.
Slow compared to knives and spears 🙂 faster or same speed as all the other types
Yea, which is why I usually goes dagger and than pairs it with a 2 handed hammer for aoe and than a bow for range
Swords kinda just jack of all trades
I hope they add curves sword into Valheim in deep north tho, and you can duel wield them
Sword secondary is one of my favourite attacks, 3x damage and good range
I did bow + 2h hammer only, no other weapons last playthrough, was an experience for sure
I often have to force myself to not ALWAYS just go sword lol
I normally start with swords once I reach mountains because silver sword is so good
They’re never my only weapon though
That's impressive, I get sick of the SMASH animation and sound after one encounter...
About to craft the iron sword this playthrough.. trying out spears too, I just remembered I havent made the iron spear thingy yet either
I remembered that
went great all the way until Mistlands, but for ashlands I should have made silver arrows etc I just didnt grind enough for it to work well in Ashlands
I see
ended up making primal axes to kill Fader haha, probably my fav weapon rn
They’d probably be mine too if jade’s effect had no rng
In late game Ashlands I would probably just be a caster
I have never really gotten into magic in my previous playthroughs
But I think having multiple staffs and than just bubbling your whole team be a good way to fight
It's very strong
So you can finally use magic for hitting distant enemies?
Yes
If only we had ways of using eitr at range to kill enemies...
not likly
there are absolutely zero long ranged eitr weapons in the game rn i hope they add a long ranged magic weapon soon
😭
There’s only one new magic weapon I want to see…
🪄
A melee sword magic like carian slicer would be cool too, different ways of using magic other than just firing them off from your staffs be so much fun
Certainly magic is the one playstyle that needs the more versatility. It's so weak that it should even be buffed
#buffmagic #nerfmelee
Imagine a magic staff that is able to switch between the form of a bow and a sword
sounds broken
That’s what the hotbar is for
I have beaten fader in one play through
did you get the 2h or 1h electric sword?
I didn't
you might like it
I did get the storm fang tho
I will try it out thanks
What I wanted to say was a magic staff that can be transformed into a sword or a bow but it will use Eitr instead of stamina and it don't use any arrows although that would definitely be too broken
I don't know if weapons transforming would fit into the game philosophy, I think maybe not
Probably not
Overall I prefer iolite, but what’s best is using jade first then iolite after it’s immobilised
I agree tho. but I didn't make the decition 😄
Bloodstone for the win.
no no
and first blood xbow after eating, then primal fang to immobilize, then iolite weapons haha
There’s no rng which is great but I like having a full health bar. Not that I need the health of course
thunderballs of lightning
very very fightning
Bloodstone belongs in the trash
imagine a blood huntsmen bow haha that could work
It really doesn't
obviously is not possible
No you.
JADE SUPERIORITY
JadePG?
Hur dur i run 3 hp food, purposefully lose all of my hp so that i can do marginally better damage AND have zero stamina #bloodstonesforthewin
"Hey mate why youjust standing there whats up?"
Also flying things dropping out of the sky is just hilarious
hey that's not nice at all Rule 1 bro
How do yall cover that little tirangle gap left from Roof ridges?
I leave some space below it and use it as a hole for smoke to escape
I usually do that where I have my fire, but on the other side I dont really want it that open
Use X Roof piece and center snap point to align two diagonal wall pieces
So catapults... does an items trajectory depend on its weight..asking for a friend that launched a staff..by accident
looking for a group of pepole to play with
#1024264966712340510 has you covered.
did try it
There you go then, sorted.
it's a bit late in half of the world, you might get a better response in a few hours 😄 gl
It's been 2 years since I last played and ready for another go. Never tried the Valheim Plus mod, is that worth a shot or should I just stick to vanilla?
I would steer very clear of mods, especially that one.
Mods, especially during game development are going to cause issues with the game and Valheim Plus especially causes a lot of problems because it 'touches' more areas of the game than most (it's practicaly a modpack on its own).
Also, quite honestly, the game is great on its own, why ruin it?
But if you DO wanna ruin it, maybe #mods-discussion can help ^_^
I'm gonna spend some hours after 1.0 before trying mods. Really experience the full game before tweaking things. Tons of games I've yet to try modded.
i'll unfriend you that day hope you know xoxo
i finally saw odin! 😮 is he supposed to look like death with the black robes are scythe?
No, he is just observing your process at the mission.
Standing there, menaciously.
wee woo wee woo? -patrick
Our whole crew was sailing last night. We jumped off the boat in the plains. Odin was posted up on a hill. Usually he's behind me somewhere while I'm building
Any Klossen enjoyers @tacit crystal ? 🙂
He is understanding your move set to beat you as a boss when 1.0 releases
I’m a man of only the most exquisite taste… [Insert Dyrnwyn emoji here]
🗡️ 🔥
just make bosses more tanky and make it battle of attrition
oh you just upgraded your weapon to max here take 2% per hit in middle of my moves thatll take 50% of your hp per hit
Pretty sure Odin isn't going to be the final boss, that would make no sense.
so yea needed like 30-50 openings in yag fight over top of a fugling village and 3 noxes
the final boss is obv gonna be Dwayne Wade
What?
the final boss of Valheim
No, I understood but why would you think that?
just a hunch to be honest
who is that?
a former professional basketball player
Who knows, certainly nothing to do with Valheim.
Maybe not the final boss instead it is the secret boss
Just no.
so when in mistlands found building with rogue and mages they were fighting something so went inside found a box with glyphs broke it got some weird things
then ran from them when their hp turned red to a harbor with boxes and another glyph box so broke it again got same thing
i thought those boxes have weapon related stuff
Did you check the building menu under your hammer?
It should have a new device in the "crafting" tab which will require an item you can / must take from those chests.
And that device is used to craft the Eitr, which in turn is used for the magic staffs.
Just check what you need for the sap extractor and what you looted from that chest.
Oh yes that is a necessary item
Don't want to spoil it for you
Any quick tip what to do if my body is surrounded by like a million things and its across the map with no portal?
Dont even have enough for a ship rn just going with rafts
Consider if it's worth it to pick it up or if it isn't a better idea to craft the armor and weapons again instead.
What point in progression are you in?
Swamp
Do you have anything from the bronze age left?
Literally had 90% of my shit on me, my fully upgraded troll gear, upgraded bronze shield, mace, and abyssal knife, and like my main foods and shit
Literally have like 3 level 2 draugrs and like 5 skeletons on the body with 4 leeches around it
They wont split up
5 level 1 skeletons
Still got the leather armor and the crude bow?
If so, you may start to collect the materials for troll armor again.
Also, if you're able to craft bronze, get the nails and craft a Karve.
But even with a bow you may be able to deal with that group. Target one of them, run off when they attack you - Eiktr power is good for that - and lure them away.
Then, break the line of sight, circle around, go back, use the bow on the leeches and collect your gear.
people have done armorless runs so there should be a way to retrieve stuff naked unless in mountains
Yh its just a pain having to do all this shit at 2am when i was wanting to be off like an hour or so ago
I've done a corpse run in the plains while being naked. So that isn't the issue here.
The issue is that the tombstone is camped by monsters. And with that a corpse run is pretty hard to do.
eat balanced meal and use eikth power and Run and grab stuff i mean after taking agro and moving them away
wait for your mate if you are in no rush
I got ittttt
bruu baking stuff is nutty
plains pie doesnt even need to be cooked
wait how to eat it?
it wont go in oven
I have a technical question, the Staff of fracturing does Blunt and fire damage, according to the weapons description, but when I hit for example a Lox, it only shows yellow and white numbers, but loxes are blunt resistant, therefore it should show grey numbers.
In another example, the charred warriors are resistant to pierce and very resistant to fire, but when I hit a charred warrior, in the first group of numbers, it shows grey damage as if they are resistant to blunt, and the damage over time is shown as white, as if they are normal against fire. It looks weird. This weird color damage combination is also happening with fallen valkyeries, when the first hit from staff of fracturing is shown as grey, as if valkyeries are also resistant to the blunt damage
plains pie picnic? that needs to be placed on table with serving tray
There isn't a question anywhere here
I will assume it's "what's wrong with dmg numbers?"
Answer: They've always being unreliable since day 1 and it's (probably) only a visual thing
Like trees showing grey numbers when hit by an axe despite chop dmg being the only dmg that can do anything to trees meaning they should as white
I see, thank you. I suspected that
Lox are weak to fire therefore yellow damage?
yeah, but the yellow is shown in the first hit, not the damage over time, which is the fire effect. At least that is happening most of the times
No idea how it works specifically
Fire damage isn't reserved to just the burning effect, it also has an effect on contact.
Isn’t that just the first fire damage tick?
Ohhh the burning effect deals pure damage according to wiki
Only the first hit is considered the fire elemental damage
Spirit also functions this way.
Is there a difference between poison and spirit in terms of how they function? Cause ik fire DoT has the ability to stack
Spirit stacks poison doesn't
Stacks like fire?
beginner here, besides the bow, what is the best weapon to fight the mosquitos
running
were in a boat
ahh maybe fire
have you been to the swamps @delicate carbon
yup
Wear the root harnesk, the harnesk gives you -50% to piercing enemies, which is really strong
tyyy
the harnesk makes them do like, 10 damage tops
are you fantastic fishermen?
not really
