Make a wisplight and go to mistlands. You’ll want to make a black metal axe if you haven’t already.
I love it how we meant the same but all gave information on a different level 😄
thanks guys
any blackmetal weapon do the job really, I like to just run around with the knife and gather the wood as I go while also hunting the hares
do i need wisplight equipped always there?
I would stay with Frostner if you got it
If you want to be able to see
so everyone with me needs to wear their own? or only 1 needs to use
Honestly I recommend spending some days stockpiling some good meads and foods
doing stock checks on any resources you are low on and upgrading your gear to max if you haven’t already
One could be enough if you stay together 😉 But as soon as it gets rough you'll lose each other 😉
You should each have one, that will help to see better as each of the wisplights will push some mist. The ones without it would also get in trouble if the one with the light die or gets too far
There aren’t many heavy materials so the megingjord is less useful, there’s not much reason to use anything but a wisplight
I usually end up with stacks of meat 😄
what arrow is best in mistland
If you play with 2 people I would suggest 1 Person with 10 wood, portal mats and one with the whisplight. If you are 3+ choose a light for everyone except the guy with the mats or share the load.
I like frost, the slow is quit strong
frost
needles or frost at first depending on the ennemy, then needles gets replaced with something better
lotta water in mistlands, mobs fall into it and u do extra dmg with frost
got nearly 800 hours in valheim and didn't know that 😄
Wet gives weakness to lightning and frost, and resistance to fire
glad to help :)
thanks boss
common sense... but I think I used to bad games which do not use these effects 😄 another lovely detail
ikr
jesus its so fast to get mage gearset in ashlands.. and since im on vh i dont even need to upgrade
I tried mage several times.... I usually end up dead with worse stats and sword + shield 😄
just hop around and shoot fireballs
Must be pretty hard to keep your bubble up with all the archers and twitchers
just dont let them get close enough I guess
ya im always kiting backwards or to safe areas
mistwalker is rly nice also to take out charred warriors, for some reason if you land 1 hit then they just let you land a full combo on them if you're at a good range
and since u have bubble u can play pretty ballsy
I usually run into another 10 skeletts, 2 morgen and roughly 100 other enemies 😄
does the bubble refresh or does it still have to pop to grant the maximum shield?
has to pop. and yea u gotta be aware of surroundings in ashlands, like where is safe and where there might be more mobs
also have to watch skies because of those fcking voltures
imo prolly most annoying mob in ashlands
voltures? the normal pidgeon-things? Or do you mean the valkyres? I like at least them since I kite other enemies into them and let them do the work
ya pidgeon things
they're not difficult to kill by their own but man theyt just appear in the worst situations.. and they have annoying pathing or how you call it, flying up and down all the time
and u cant just dodge and they go away, they kinda stick on you all the time
yeah, that's right 😄
At the Ashlands
Managed to mine one of those flametal pillars whole, super lucky
Dunno if its always like that but started sinking after the last node was mined, i kinda wanted it to stay there all naked, could have been a funny sight
Sinking was made much less likely in one of the later ashlands patches
That will happen more often than not, it does depend on your mining level/use of power. But since it's just 1% chance to sink per hit most of the spires will not sink as it should take you less than 100 hits on average to mine the whole thing
oh i see, bless that patch
First two i mined went down kinda fast, so i probably was a bit unlucky with those
2 is probably all that you ever need to mine to get geared up and have a battering ram and the rest you get from the fortresses
about that, yeah! this one was to finish my preps for the fortress, hope it goes well
Kinda intimidated, Ashlands has been pretty hard so far. Lets see how it goes
remember to shoot down ballistas before going in
oh yeah i shouldnt forget that!
Thanks!
np
Any tips on taming an Askvin? No matter how I try to enclose it something finds a way to kill it once its tamed
Spawn proof a wide area with campfires- just spam a ton of them. Prepare a pit that’s really deep. This is what I did when I tamed my 2-star Asksvin.
You can spawn proof? thank you! ill be using this
In my experience, the most useful part of Asksvin taming is the eggs; they can be transported elsewhere and hatched. I've never used I no longer use a tamed Asksvin in Ashlands; the controls are awful and the depth of lava pools is not obvious.
You cant really get eggs if the tamed ones get killed before they lay them can you...
If you're taming any of the animals outside of an enclosure, you deserve what you get.
#valheim-chat message seems to me they were enclosed....
I've never had an issue inside walls. Perhaps the acceptance of what constitutes an enclosure is the issue. I wouldn't try breeding anything in Ashlands in an enclosure that wasn't build from Grausten.
You put them in in a fortress, and you close it with a flametal portal
You're using a portal in the doorway of a fortress?
Pigeon things 😂
Pffffffff 🤭
no sorry a flametal door
Awww... I thought you had some super insight into using the portals. 😛
my bad
All good 🙂 Would have been a fun exploit, though.
Do 1 star Askvins tame at night only?
If they spawn at night, they’ll only start eating/taming at night.
Once the process has started, they’ll continue taming through the day.
Thanks!
Omg lvling up blood magic takes so long
Afk grey dwarf farm or drugar village are your best bets
Thats exatly what I'm doing, but it's still takes long
Yeah
Thats my spot:
#screenshots message
Crossbow, fishing; welcome to the grind.
up skill gain rate. in console, "setkey SkillGainRate 300" for 3x xp for example
I never caught any fish ever, but I'm thinking about it
Nah, I'm still on default settings
you can do it in default settings, just use console
You don't need to farm skills, just let them increase as you play
depends on difficulty, for vh id suggest u grind ur skills before ashlands
At least you can't lose 5% of your 'thinking' fishing level when you die.
I agree, but I wanted to build a Skill Dojo, with some stuff to do regarding lvling skills
Also have the inifity pool farm haha
#screenshots message
Are you Mr Valhagi? Hoe the floor! Craft the wall! (Edit: It was an attempt at a Karate Kid reference, and I've realised that most people here have no idea what that is... even if they're familiar with Cobra Kai).
Yeah, I did not catch that one lol
Playing solo. Losing motivation. Just beat bonemass and started exploring some mountains (just running for my life). Games fun but i cant seem to get anyone online to join me. Is it worth playing solo further?
It is - but it depends entirely on what sort of games you enjoy
Are you still having fun building or fighting mobs?
I’ve always enjoyed games like this. 75 real days in ark and about 30 days in 7 days to die. Typically I have someone playing with me but this time I don’t. Really enjoyable game but sitting in silence for the last week has been rough lol.
check out #1024264966712340510 mby
Maybe you could try finding a group to play with?
nvm i see u've done a post already
Yeah I get that man
Solo play is rough if you really enjoy playing with other people
Had exactly the same thoughts when my friends stop playing
Ya I put two post up. Either they want me to join a server or no one is interested. Dont blame them but I thought I’d at least get one person by now.
Maybe take a break from the game? Come back to it in a day or two or even a week?
I basically just wanted to finish the game and I enjoyed the whole vibe of exploring and finding new biomes
Yeah if you aren’t having fun solo then don’t try force it, have a break and come back to it when you feel ready, you could listen to your fav music while you play to break the silence
Ya typically got music going. Just can’t go on lol. Dont want to stop since im stuck home for this month.
Might have too take a break at this point so I don’t burn out
what ingame struggles do u have? except for being solo
It’s a good idea to just take a little rest
You could also try engaging with other parts of the game and try combining tasks you can do at the same time
Fishing with serpent hunting goes well together I think
It’s so helpful to just let yourself recognise when you don’t want to do something - don’t push it
Just enjoy the game and play something else when you’ve had enough
It’s like eating cake - love eating it but you can’t eat it 24/7
None really. Just the time to everything solo is long. I like to fully gear up and fill my chest so later if I need something it’s easy to grab. Only really problem was bonemass but I found out blunt is the way to go and beat him a few hours ago
Very true
HEYYY SOMEONES INTERESTED LETS GOOOO lol
you can up resource rate on world modifiers if u want resource gathered feel of a duo
Awesome! 🔥❤️🔥
Ya I have for that reason lol.
ah alright
NA sadly, i tried playing with americans once. it didnt go well (not because of the people but the lag man)
What do you guys think the boss of the deep north will be? I think it could either be the winter child, Loki, or Fenrir.
Neither loki nor fenrir have anything to do in Valheim
I’m hoping for two bosses to fight simultaneously
ya im assuming something with the winter child
iirc fader's kingdom was fine until the winter child corrupted him, so that child aint up to no good
children in a nutshell
💯
Or a portal appears in spawn point after returning the boss trophy to the sacrificial stone.
yeah there is that stone in the center at spawn
the one you are dropped onto during the intro
Maybe the yggdrasil tree will be part of the ending
idk i hope they cook cause im beyond excited
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Munin
An unused text (general10) mentions a great bridge, that Odin will send when the forsaken are killed. There’s no guarantee the ending will feature this because the text is unused, but it’s a possibility, at least
And obliterate my whole base
I guess I wont need, cuz if I win Odin will take me to Valhalla, and if I die, well, I died
Dead viking need no house
Oh yeah trueee
you guys are probably a bit biased but do yall think the games worth it? Like ill buy it if yall really think so
Personally, it’s my favorite survival game, so absolutely
I mean, i got nearly 900 hours on it for not even 20 Euro 😄 so very worth it in my opinion
what if youve got no one to play it with
its solo first and foremost
10 euro's cause of black week
Then you will get even better deal than me 😉
coop is optional and sometimes fun, for those of us like me who don't really care for that experience it is amazing in solo.
damn alright, are there any npc's or companions in the game?
cause i saw that you can build like villages in the game so
Sort of, there’s a few traders scattered around the map
3 traders, some other outposts in the outskirts of teh map, some tameable animals.
NPCs yes, traders, companions... Not so much, but there are guy that are friendly with you untill you attack them or touch their suff that will fight mobs with you
Yeah there’s are some creatures who are neutral, meaning if you’re chill with them, they’re chill with you
so, you build for yourself?
Yes, the building is amazing
Yep
My favorite aspects of the game are the building, combat, and graphics
you can't make villages and fill them with people if thats what you're insinuation
And that the whole game is only 1.5GB for how much content there is
how lucky is this world? so far first 4 bosses and all 3 traders on starting island
check ur dms ill send screanshot
they should double cost of vine staff cast tbh
eitr cast cost
its ridiculous that u can just pump out 6 vines and each do 300+ dmg per hit
old news but ye
Add that to suggestions if you want, but i doubt people will like it 🙂
I say that because we already had the nerfed version of it 😉
oh i didnt play w that one i think
It was in ashlands ptb
aight ya def didnt then
i just bought it xD haven’t gotten a real chance to play tho. i’m sure it’s worth the sale price
ill buy it tomorrow when my refunds pend 😭
Both of you welcome to the land of dead vikings 😄 (or at least one of you for now xD)
i like how most of the negative reviews are people with atleast 50+ hours on it
like the dmg of the vines is fine, just having 6x up at all times is a bit much
i saw a guy leaving a negative review and he had 900 hours
thanks xD
wow some guy has 10k hours
absolutely worth, id even say youre getting one heck of a deal, even without the sale
this games gotta be amazing
granted only if you like survival crafting games
i’m just gonna be comparing it to terraria prolly
THEYRE SO DIFFERENT THOUGH
or i guess in a sense not really but still
its like minecraft
minecraft gets boring eventually tho
we shall see
ive played some terraria as well, i dont instinctively see the similarity
id say its like minecraft but with more of a progression system? idk
open world survival, boss fights, lots of monsters and enemies, free building, expansive armor and tool crafting tree
chop down trees, get stronger, mine, go kill bosses
ya true
hit tree with axe
tree hits back
die
10/10
smth like that ya
ah the valheim initiation ritual
It's the rite of passage.
wait what. the tree hits back? 😭
we'll find out
hell yeah not even any dlc
Only if you are not paying attention~
yessirrr 🔥🔥
and 2gbs
kinda bothers me that the size is so small
cause how you gonna have such an expansive game and its not even bigger than a 2 minute video
low poly and good optimization
fair enough, i guess ill see tomorrow
current endgame biome has some optimization issues but ya its good
I really want to play it right now though
oh yeah wait the steam refund might even take longer than like 12 hours
i just refunded some stuff
yeah
Aren't sales up until 4th of December.
till' 3rd of dec
any1 here still bothering w battering ram? i found its so easy to just put up a ladder just mine under the center tower
i wonder if its faster too
and if you're a mage its even easier since u can summon in trolls
For the center tower yes, i use it, but to get into the fortress i use ladders
feels so ghetto lmao but its so easy
if the terrain is right you can just jump into the fortress, i scaled the spikes on my first fortress
ya sometimes u get those arches outside of the fort so you can just rain in projectiles on the spawners inside
Yep, either arrows or fireballs/trolls as a mage 🙂
Please tell me copper mining is better then it was in 2022
or just get almost killed twice after jumping in from the back cause you didnt expect that many enemies inside 😄
Still the same i believe
just get a troll to do it, i never mine copper manually in my runs
Hah, same. So much quicker.
You leave too much there that way, i dont like to leave stuff behind 😄 and i found a way to make it a bit faster i feel, you just need to go into the copper using the chair trick and you can dig all the normal ground first so its not slowing you down later 🙂
chair trick is cool. i usually have like 3-4 copper deposits marked on map tho so its plenty, just guide the troll around
and i dont go for bronze armor set, troll baby
Oh i agree 😄 also using troll (tho the bronze armor is so pretty 😄 )
This is my first playthrough actually using troll, definitely miss my bronze armor lol
Guys how much of a smart idea it is to make a base in plains?
Not next to a river?
I usually build on the coast somewhere.
Probably in meadows near coast, it will make transporting stuff much easier 🙂
i wanna place it near yagluth ngl
me: so, what exactly are you good for?
hoe: alright, imma level with you here...
what is the big ass tree in the sky
@merry pebble do fulings respawn on their bases? 😭
Nope 😄
thats just yggdrasil
Yggdrasil 🙂
i am just thinking where to put my plain base is base building is so annoying 😭
Do i get to destroy it
Nope
pro tip: dont destroy the world tree
You dont really have to make a base there
some kind of farming outpost will sufice
i wanna make atleast 3 bases all around the map
then go for it
personally i have a main base in meadows to keep the need for repairs at a minimum, one farming outpost in the plains and one in the mistlands
problem is i still suck at building and it js too time consuming 😭
Exactly the same for me xD
The more you build the better you will get 😄
Also i might have or not traveled around 10 different plain islands to find yagluths vesvigir
thats normal, yaggy likes to hide
gonna beat his ass for that what is yall recommendation to beat him weapon wise
you dont have to build anything fancy if you dont want to, often functional is the easier choice
i have been told my builds are "too blocky"
when i started i had trouble getting a roof to stay where it needed to be so dont be too hard on yourself
If i build next to the black forest still in the meadows who will i get raided by trolls?
would you like to see the base we are currently using now?
if youre talking actual raids, those can happen to your base in any biome, but the chance a stray troll might stumble over your base are higher near black forests, yes
sure, hit me
If anyone wants, feel free to come hang out with me in Neck's Pond VC. Working on a huge build.
Has the cooking bonus changed recently? I just prepared 5 marinated greens and got 11.
I thought best I could do was +1 for each.
same thing happened with my pies.
Yes, it was changed
i think it might increase with your cooking skill maybe?
While doing X5 you can only get +1, +3, +6, +10 or +15 instead of +1 to +5
Wow that’s crazy.
ok wow thats a lotta food
It's surely not intended, just nobody care to fix it
Yeah. 4x output is too much.
you can also get it for meads, sometimes even with 10 empty space it will just cancel as you don't have space to receive 5+6
wow been long since i last been here lol
I’ve seen same with other crafts. I only ever make meat base one at a time, since they don’t stack
Or do they?
amazing how your opinion on a game changes once you keep giving it chances
It's because instead of being programmed to be +1, +2, +3, +4 or +5. It's +1, +1+2, +1+2+3, +1+2+3+4 or +1+2+3+4+5
Sometimes you just gotta keep pushing until it clicks, valheim has a very strong and engaging gameplay loop unfortunately it’s buried a lil deeper than a lot of people care to find it
i had this feeling with Sunless Sea
the game really starts to hit around swamp for me personally
initally, i hated the game, but after many tries i grew to love it
think my only early game gripe is bronze
mining 2 very ore sets in an area with high af spawnrates
Ah see that was also mine for the longest time but you keep trying to improve your method and it becomes more fun
spam campfires and make walls for example
by god, NEVER MINE AT NIGHT in the black forest, biggest mistake
Mine around the ore, hollow it out from bottom then break the rest off instantly, have campfires around to keep greydwarfs away and have a campfire underneath the ore for 10 min rested bonus and easy stamina regen with resting perk
one mining trip at night for a copper boulder turned into a slaughterfest of around 40+ greydwarves
they just kept fricking coming
I imagine there’s a nest nearby lol
i got rid of it
I purposefully leave the nests and just have chests underneath the ore which I will with stone copper and greydwarf loot while slowly chipping away at it
beforehand
Very good way to farm greydwarf eyes for future portal expansion
night spawn rates are something else, especially in the forest
They’re only annoying if you view it from the pov of trying to mine the copper
Believe me they are more beneficial than anything, free basic resources being delivered straight to you lol
true but their rock does silly knockback even in the best armor
Have you considered getting a big blue employee to mine the ore for you ? lol
mining skill won't level itself
That is true, my mining skill is suffering greatly in the mountains atm since mining around the ore doesn’t net you any exp
I have question. Is the mountain super windy? And does that mean you can grind flour really fast on a mountain?
tf am I spposed to do in this game
idk how to get anything other than axe and torch and theres like nothing around me
make a hammer, then craft a workbench and put some buildings around it
especially a roof
Find some water, you can get flint there
be sure to find new things and make the little upgrade parts for each craft station
i do advise that getting the tanning rack is especially difficult mainly due to having to find many boars/deer
some things can be made by hand by just pressing Tab, some things can be made by Hammer, and some things can be made at a work table that is inside under a roof
70% cover, roof + walls
I really like the flame sword
it's a shame it's mechanical use is mediocre
Adequate*
mediocre is a really good adjective for it, not great not terrible
it's a strictly worse version of the ashlands gem enchanted weapons
anyone else getting a lot of interaction bugs with inventory?
not being able to open, or insert items?
could be wonderful in the deep north, i think its cooler than any of the gem weapons (because i like fire the best)
sadly no, it only does 10 fire damage, and the utility from the lightning and the vines is way more valuable on top of providing that same 10 damage from an elemental type
If it was more split with fire damage and slash it would def have the potential to be a great option in the deep north
I want it to use it just as much as the next guy, but right now it's just mediocre at best
Looks great on an armor stand 🙂
is there a way to delete stuff from inv
Drop it?
ye but than it sits there and sparkles and that bugs me
No.
If you want to get rid of items you can craft something from an item you can buy at the merchant in the Black Forest.
The other option is to dump it somewhere far from any workbench you've crafted.
Over time the game will auto delete it.
okok thanks
you can drop it in the ocean as you're sailing.
Anyone ever figure out if it's more efficient to light or heavy attack when cutting trees
never thought of it.
Never tested in game but wiki’s numbers that the light will be better DPS to trees
special attack on axes has no multi target penalty, so if you can hit multiple things with it it's > than normal
Also seems like durability loss is static per hit so... more damage for less repair runs?
Probably a factor when cutting far from a forge.
was just about to say the same. secondary for all axes takes double the stamina, but only deals 50% more chop damage.
and it's slower.
secondary has cleave, normal does not
cleave?
no multi target penalty
if you're hitting multiple trees, maybe it's more efficient, then.
it's 100% more efficient
but one at a time, no.
yes, use whichever attack is beneficial given the circumstance
Although in many situations it’s hard to hit multiple trees with the heavy because it’s not very wide
wait, though. the swing on the secondary for axes is mostly vertical. how are you hitting more than one at a time?
Are you talking about downed trees?
Does that work for berserkir axes? they have a much wider hitbox on the secondary.
Hol up, ar e berserker axes better for cutting trees?
I haven't played since launch, Iono nuthin
a good combo for chopping trees is smack it until it falls, then as it's falling you can use the secondary to hit both the stump and the actual tree, and with high enough wood cutting, you can break the tree in half while it's falling, then the two pieces that are falling will hit eachother and break 1 of the 2
berserkir axes have more chop damage than Jotun Bane, yes.
does anyone know when the yule tree is coming back into play? 🎄
Hello, Friends I'm not new to valheim but I just never beat the game and I have no friends that wanna play so if anyone wanna play please dm teach me a thing or two 😄 😛
#1024264966712340510 is a good place to look for friends.
ive just come back into the game and was wondering what biome theyre upyo now?
ashlands is the latest and they've started working on the deep north
anyone have a server i can join
Dodge.
i can't parry him?
What's your shield?
carapace
Buckler?
yea the smol one
i'm playing modded, with the maximum difficulty
Then never mind.... always lead with that information... sheesh...
but with 230 HP currently. i've posted a clip on the clip channel
anyways, 2star seekers always one-hit me even with 230hp lol
it is even hard to deal with the purples ones
What is the bog witches name?
Steve.
Source: I’m the greydwarf chilling outside the hut.
think the secondary is mostly for stumps that are too small to hit normally
if you're playing on maximum difficulty then you've brought it on yourself 🤷
i don't know what else to say beyond that
take less damage, don't be hurt as much, shrug it off 😤
Roll… is what you have to do because you want to play on very hard
I dont think that you need to be on max difficulty to be one shotted by two stars charred warriors
considering they do about 300 damage
dont you get a tonne of armour at that stage?
I have the max armor value, its less than half of what they do in term of damage
While I do not use the best foods around, keep in mind that one star charred warriors regularly staggers me in a single hit despite me blocking with a maxed out flametal shield
so imagine what a two star would do to me.
i would recommend higher HP foods, that directly affects the amount of damage you can block
trust me it makes all the difference
Yeah well, here's the deal: using the two best hp food and the best stamina food didnt change my situation
i once got oneshotted through a block by a 2* seeker cause i was running 1 health and 2 stamina foods. came back with 2 health 1 stamina and the big boy suddenly wasnt so big anymore, couldnt even stagger me
Note that perhaps that at the time, I wasnt using flametal armor. I dont remember what I had. But it shouldnt matter because I had the flametal shield.
full mistlands gear, max levels before ashlands
that might have done it then, thats important too
It took me so long to find turnips in this run that I’ve already got more onions growing lol
Finally got wolf chest piece still not got enough pelts for cape tho so today ima be hunting the hunters
himmini + special move and frostner + keep bonking back. also use bow + frost arrows
or if you're mage, just kite and keep shooting fireballs
no just use movement keys + shift or shift+jump back
less stamina used
also mob AI kinda needs u to be lined up and then they attack, so if u just keep rotating around them, they often get stuck just trying to track u
u can do this while walking speed
that only works if there is only a few enemies, in ashlands sometomes need to roll imo
nah i never roll. gets u locked into animation also
even if morgen dashed into me i just jump to the side and its fine
or i guess, i roll only if im stuck in place and have nowhere to escape
If an attack can be jumped over, jumping is better than rolling. One of the reasons for this is that you aren’t locked in an animation
but ya 2 star seekers can be a pain on harder difficulties (for melee). seeker move set is kinda tricky
Seeker soldiers casually backhanding you across the map even with a successful parry:
best way to get eitr? we at mistlands atm
seeker aspic x2 = 2 seeker meat + 2 magecap + 2 royal jelly. make a magecap farm and do some infested mines for royal jelly
seeker meat u just get naturally tons of
or u can do uncooked stuffed mushroom (from food prep table) = 3 magecap + 1 blood clot + 2 turnips. kill ticks for blood clots
is dead raiser worth it?
Mistlands for sure, in Ashlands does depend on the difficulty a bit too, but they can die super fast there (actually stronger on harder difficulty)
for afk blood magic lvling yes (idk about actually using it)
damn finishing all trophies is always so sad :'( time to say byebye to this world
how do you guys figure out the best place to build your home? I'm fairly new to the game and figured I should be close to the black forest for resources, and at a central point on the island, close to the water since I want to easily reach camp wherever I go..
ya starter base in black forest for relevant mats and then later move to plains for other relevant mats
Meadows near coast and BF, not right next to black forest or in it as taht will mean you have enemies constantly attacking you
thing is u want enemies to keep attacking because u want the mats from them (stone, wood, eyes)
How high is your block skill level?
Thats easy to get with just exploring the black forest
ya but u have to go out ur way to do that, u would passively just get it if u based there
also u are closer to a lot of wood + copper deposits + tin deposits
Wdym pasively? you need to explore it for copper, chambers and haldor
Man it's a big island to keep running around on 😅 are you guys making multiple 'big' bases? So far I try to create some camping sites all around and 1 big base where I can focus improving my workbench, making the forge, etc.
passively as in greydwarves attack u "all the time"
ya i know, thats why i just base in black forest, so i donthave to run around
Right now I usually take like 100m away from the black forest, close enough to do a quick run to kill those greydwarves, but far enough for my camp to not always be attacked
Do want you want to do 🙂 i make 1 main base in medows and then just go everywhere using portals
I haven't gotten to the portals yet 🤔 good point
fwiw tho, when i was new i used to base in meadows a lot because it was comfier
and anything smart to do about the inventory space (without using mods)? I usually end up spending a few minutes in the black forest before my inventory is full lol
Just decide what you dont need 🙂
Pretty sure in meadows it lacks the "Army" raids unlike others
It still has most of the raids
Armies from Eik to Yag can be in meadows, both charred raids can happen there, trolls, ghosts, blobs, skeletons, surtlings, bats and hildir raids can happen there
Never seen a yag raid in meadows, even with 1.5x raid rate(i like a challenge)
Yeah, rng can be, as in the name, random 😄 and you probably kill yag before it happens
Eik raid is among the weirdest due to it just being boars and necks, who are scared of fire sources
good food from it though
how many skeletons i can summon at once?
Well it is meant to be kinda the introduction to the raid mechanic 😄 its a good thing its not hard
With maxed out dead raiser 4
True true, when you think about it, eik has no malice towards the player, he just wants you out of his damn forest lol
Maximum is 1 per quality, so up to 4 maximum.
thanks guys
Then why he sends the creatures of the forest? 😛
"Gentle" nudging
Because he knows we need Leather.
Eik power, still the best alongside bonemass
And moder right behind those 😄
Mobility, defense, and travel
yag? you got potions for that
dunno what queen/fader does, never beat em
You want to know or shall we let you find out on your own? 😄
I can do it meself
actually come to think of it, there's no clothes or potion that gives lightning resistance?
Nope, but there is also VERY little stuff that does lightning dmg to the player
Only yagluth and eikthyr
And nothing that does spirit damage to the player
The player is immune to spirit damage
I wonder if they’ll play around with that for deep north
Some kind of thing there turns you undead and you become weak to spirit damage or something
I'm hoping for lightning enemies
Like the surtling equivalent enemy or more on like morgen troll tier of enemy
Ain't the player already undead? in a way?
Doesn't help sausages are basically cannibalism
Able to come back to life due to Odin yeah but not necessarily undead
undying more like
even in a pvp standoff with silver weapons?
And ulv's slash fenring enemies
And bats
i discovered bats via cllc
2 star armored bat, tanked a hit from a max level silver sword and died to the spirit ticks
dear god I watched a couple YT vids on it and thought I was in good shape to tackle moder with 63 armor and level 3 draugr's fang, level 4 iron mace...moder ONE SHOTTED me, then I went back and 4 wolves and a werewolf swamped me...this is insane
Normal difficulty?
yeah
What food?
Her icicles will one-shot you. Just run around and you're fine.
you're equipped to take on the boss once you have at least good armor and food
wolf jerky turnip stew and sausage
I always make a terrain pillar to hide behind when she uses her flying projectile attack
but yeah her icicle breath is a killer even with max wolf armor
it's that ridiculous
the reputation was moder was easy q_q bonemass got nothing on this
i rock wolf skewer, sausage and eyescream
Once she lands she's not too dangerous
you need onions for skewer tho
I have the wolf skewer in inventory but my food was the best I had after dying and returning
Bonemass is a zero-damage fight, so... yeah.
use the pukeberries to reset your stomach in such an event
there's so little time...but I hear ya
2 hp 1 stam is always optimal for combat
when ur corpse is right under the fighht
more stam for fishing/serpent hunting
1hp 2 stam is also optimal 😉
dying too fast for stamina too matter...I'm just kinda shocked. I'm not even close
yeah moder is patience
no time for patience! dead!
doesn't help she'll occasionally call in wolves or drakes to assist
She does not call adds.
haven't managed 30 seconds yet
Ah, must be the sound from all the fighting then
And not spawn-proofing during your boss prep, yeah.
the mountainside was clear before
I recommend best food available to you and needle or obsidian arrows, serpent stew, meat and best stamina you got, also consider feasts if you have those available to you
no feasts, no bog witch yet
everything I researched online said moder is easy, easier than bonemass...dunno wtf they were talking about
Feasts are not "best food available" when it comes to boss fights, just fyi.
feasts are generalist for stats
Remember that frost damage won't stagger so you can block a lot more of her elemental hits than you may expect
This will help for projectiles but I'm not sure if her breath is blockable
Anyone who says any boss is "easier than Bonemass" doesn't know what they are talking about. As he is a zero-damage fight.
but not best for actual raw numbers compared to foods
it doesn't matter when one shotted
How much health are you getting one shot from
all of it duh p:
her worst attack on the ground is definitely the bite
What is your health when you get one shot
hits the hardest
I dunno, what does wolf jerky, turnip stew, and sausage give you for HP? that +1 or more
Serpent stew meat and ice cream should give you like 190 health 150 stamina right
that should be 2-3 shot minimum
wolf jerky sucks
fella is wearing iron set, not wolf
Her projectiles will be doing 130 damage if you're frost resistant (200 frost and 30 pierce) and that will be further reduced by your armor
Her melee attacks are 110 slash
Her breath has 200 frost
You’re better off wolf skewer
I'm 2x wolf lvl 3 2x iron lvl 3
Ah
I know but as I said, this was on a corpse run because I already got killed once
then again i can see why, grinding silver is just a pain due to drakes
I got 60ish silver
Were you trying to roll? Rolling makes you immune to most damage
I think you just need to practise the fight and make sure you got enough health to not get one shot tbh
it all happened too fast
shot, dead, done
Many deaths happen in panic
Too late to do arena prep now but did you make a little hidey hole around the altar?
I didn't even have time to panic! it just happened
Arena prep becomes very useful from bonemass to yagluth
Do you still have a portal nearby?
fair but the arena looked totally sedate before I summoned
it's pretty easy to run back from portal but I'm just running into death
Yeah grab your shit and get out and consolidate your resources
I’d say you’d be better off going serpent hunting before tackling her again
I couldn't even get out, 4 wolves and a fenris, dead again
Did you sleep and get rested buff
yes
Come back at day, the fenring will try to despawn and the wolves might too
it started during day but it did end up at night, true. also comfort 11 sleep
i reccomend saving boss attempts as soon as you wake up
spend the days before that planning it out and getting ready
my last attempt I did sleep, rest, eat, frost resist potion, run to corpse, collect things, 4 wolves got me. fenris still there. guess I didn't wait long enough after dawn
finding bog witch before the fight makes it easier, as the speed mead's movespeed buff offsets 2 armor pieces + 1 weapon
Looking at her stats she has a 30 pierce 200 frost attack, 200 frost attack and 110 slash attack
You could try sneaking as far as you can, just don't let your stamina get too low
just flabbergasted how hard this is. was playing with friends and in that game we're training to do more with less equipment. my single player, a lot better equipped. destroyed like I was naked
So you want frost resistance to halve that and at least 55 defence and then your biggest risk will be the frost damage but you will be at least a 2 shot
I was running frost resistance
And pop bonemass when she’s down and you can go in guns blazing just make sure to roll
Draugr fang with fire arrows or high pierce as she’s neutral to poison and pierce and weak to fire
melee moveset
claw slash, delayed claw clash, chomp, roar(does nothing)
that's what I had, draugr 3 with fire arrows. got...one shot off before dying? maybe 2% of her health at most?
Obsidian arrows will do more damage. Even with fire weakness, fire arrows aren't as strong
yeah so you wanna bring the best health meads, some tasty and stamina meads and have at least 170+ health
Wolf skewer, sausages and eye scream is like 170 health I believe
I can try obsidian arrows. had health potion but again, dead so fast no time to even use them
maybe 160
Tasty Mead == very yes.
Stamina Mead == very no.
I was not stamina limited
Bring a hoe and some stone, you could try to make a terrain pillar as some indestructible cover from her flying attack
Yeah just health but you didn’t really experience enough of the fight due to health problems
stamina comes in later, especially for bows
well now she's summoned so, yay. everything is harder
the boss after her is truly a wakeup call if you haven't experienced it
you think? I found yagluth way easier than moder personally
this is as far as I've been in the game, I started in july and fiddle-farted around until...late sept-ish
fenris set and frostner made quick work
Yagluth? ||Fire resistance barley wine, silver sword and BM tower shield make the fight impossible to lose||
His moveset is easy to dodge and well telegraphed
||Blocking the meteors costs less stamina and time compared to sprinting away||
moder is very dependant on how much work you put into getting a good arena or if you get lucky with the mountain generation
Then again i prefer to facetank and parry anything the game throws at me
the mountain doesn't seem too bad
I’ve never tried blocking them lol but I’ll try that next time
2 star wolf would like to know your location
Mountains is the most fun I have up until plains where it just gets even better, the gameplay loop really peaks in the mountains
(ignore the drakes)
Stunning visuals and it’s just chill for the most part
Stone golems are slow and can aggro drakes for you
when I said "the mountain doesn't seem too bad" I mean the terrain is not too difficult, as mountains go. There's a decent fighting space around my moder spawn in this seed
even more annoying as drake spawning is set to the air, even if you spam campfires they can still spawn
but that's all academic. I've had all of 5-10 seconds at trying. strategy is still academic. it's just like...wow. near instantaneous death, I'm flabbergasted.
there's been very little trying to do before DEATH
eh don't worry you'll meet even worse enemies
What specifically keeps killing you? Any single attack or enemy, or just everything?
Moder one-shotted me at first, went back for my corpse, 4 wolves and a fenris got me seconds after collecting my inventory
If those wolves spawned at night they should attempt to despawn at day
they were there in the day but by the time I went back for corpse it was dawn. I slept at home
I started at daytime in clear weather
That’s absolutely not true what are you yapping about
First of all it takes zero stamina to avoid meteors, second, you spend exactly the same amount of time blocking as you would if you just walk in a semi circle, third, you take damage from blocking the meteors, crazy
If your solution involves tower shields it’s just objectively bad
lmao you sprint for like 3 seconds when yag meteors and u avoid all of it like 15 stamina max needed
Deep North needs to bring some #JusticeForTowerShield
they just need a complete rework/rebalance
A reduction or removal of the movement speed penalty would suffice imo.
They'd still be worse than parrying but also have a lower skill cap since less timing is required.
I'm actually a fan of the bone tower shield as it stands.
Its not better than the buckler but its sufficient up through swamps and much cheaper to craft.
Anything past the serpent shield is way too expensive for what you get though.
Inc tower shields have a bigger blocking hitbox defense
180°, yes
Eh, the way I would balance them would be to make Serpent less unique.
Keep all the movement stuff the way it is.
But give tower shield Resistance as they cannot parry.
So you get a true bulwark feeling out of them in terms of sheer blocking ability.
Where bucklers would have you faster on your feet, and being parry gods -> but this costs more stamina than normal blocking in trade for the stagger it provides.
And normal shields would remain the "middle ground."
If anything, change Serpent Shield from a tower shield to a normal shield if doing the above.
So it retains it's identity of having unique pierce resist 🤷♂️
Resistance is the last thing you should add if the goal is balance. Just look at the root harnesk.
Yes, because Serpent Shield is uncontested best in slot while having resistance.
Oh wait...
Its not because there is already a way to get permanent pierce resist
It's not because Resistance on shields isn't the same.
A tower shield that gives blunt or slash resist would be bis, no question
Believe what you want to 🤷♂️
Maybe tower shields should have increased exp gain when blocking
Maybe staggering through damage could be reworked? Right now many tanky enemies such as morgens and starred fuling berserkers that may be parryable are incredibly difficult to stagger otherwise.
You gain the same from blocking normally with shields and bucklers but they also have parrying so they technically give more
I mean it seems intentional no? I think making them like their weaker counterparts would detract from the point of them being tougher harder versions of the same enemies
They don’t need to simply stagger faster. I was thinking that their stagger could decay a little slower so continued aggression would eventually stagger the enemy. Right now it’s too fast for some enemies and you lose most or all of your dealt stagger before you can hit again
It could even decay at the same rate, but with a delay between getting hit and stagger decay starting
If you have a feather cape you float down from a higher floor to create some space if you need it. You can also leave the dungeon and regenerate if you have to
If you use magic you can just kite her in circles up and down the stairs.
Ooze bombs and bile bombs can also help deal with adds
do we need to craft potions?
Lightfoot mead will help
oh yeah, its only at 20, that might be it
Classic health and stam mead will be of great use, other than that i cant really say since i didnt use other potions myself yet 😄
poison resist
If you have found the bog witch you could also make tonic of ratatosk
thanks guys
I have entomophobia irl and I can't stand the deathsquitoes
make them your ally with the anti-sting
Wut? Oh, they’ll still follow you around and attack anything of another faction!
Yeah like growths and wolf raids
wish there were base blueprints
Hi! i m looking 4 a couple of people to join on Valheim if interested PV
still 5 hours to go till i can get the game
@shy marlin about to start new vh run. any tips on accessing content "earlier than intended"?
for example boating outside mistlands looking for mines before u have wisplight
like what are some stuff u do and how early
Main thing i go for super early is the fenris stuff and root harnesk just because they're super valuable, but no crazy skips past that
but nah really don't got any tips for ya that i can just think of 🤷♂️
just don't get hit 4head
aight ty anyway
Any tips to finding a 2* Askvins?
I ran across the shore (Where I felt more safe) at night, but didnt manage to find nothing yet. Did two runs already
Only spqwning at night, so just continue and eventually you will find some 😄
Ok, thanks!
Asksvin generally spawn further inland, not on the shore.
Yeah you should try and work on leveling that up - get a decent shield and let a bunch of skeletons hit you for a while
would be so interesting to see devs on screenshare working on the next update 😍
do some drinks help us mine faster ? like berserk or strength ?
there's a forsaken power that helps out with mining
I think something they missed with the new meads is something I feel is present in every other aspect of the game which is compromise. Every boon should come with a bane.
well they got that right with the beserker mead
but what could be the bane for speed/jump/troll pot etc?
man flametal armor is so cool wtf does it just utterly suck on vh?
u cant take any hits even with it?
not only can you not take hits it practically makes you a sitting duck with the -10% movement speed and when mobs are faster
Is there a non-boss enemy bigger than the troll?
Maybe Abom is a bit larger? but not really sure
dunno about bigger but there's a lot of other comparible stuff to trolls in terms of size
valk in ashlands also maybe bigger model?
hmm maybe
I dont think so maybe around the same if you would spread and measure tip to tip the wings
yeah probably the valkyrie
But i just feel like it doesn’t tower over you as well as the troll
troll has other stuff to it like the thumping steps and its the first scary enemy you encounter
I feel the troll is unique in it's size relative to the player. There's no non-boss enemies whose limbs are player-sized.
I think the troll should be way louder. Nothing that large can be that stealthy.
well troll set does give stealth but i see what you're saying
draugr spawners are pretty good
the body piles
they spawn draugrs faster then the greydwarf nests
ya the 3x spawners help instead of the 1x greydwarf
and the body piles can spawn pretty close in proximity to one another
i found a location with three of them close, that was amazing
it’s only amazing tho if you’re past the swamp and have actual good gear. if you’re at bronze age and see that, it’s a nightmare
They also usually have skeleton spawner too.
you found one of the triple spawners?
yeah i found three groups of the spawners in the swamp
so that’s six body piles and three skeleton spawners
they get increasingly more common the further out you go, they are nice farming spots and sometimes even have chests with valuables, arrows and sometimes even....chains
Oh they do? i didn’t know that
that makes sense, the ones closer to spawn should be a little easier
i feel like that should apply to all biomes. like black forests should have burial chambers be more common the farther you go out
i have 2 swamps that have 4 of those each
wait is that a thing already. I feel it should cause of mistlands
I’m not sure, I heard that burial chambers further from spawn tend to be bigger but I’m not sure the reliability of the source or whether it was just random luck
I’ve found in my experience chambers further out net more cores but that could just be my perception and I’m swamp/mountain tier now so Black Forest is a breeze
A troll log to the face is a small bruise lol
common enemies in the final biome have more health than the first boss
Crazy
I can’t wait I’m still yet to fight queen or go Ashland’s other than in creative lol
See I was thinking late 2025 ptb and then release early 2026 but some people think it could be earlier
Hi guys! Any tips for a permadeath run? Relatively new to the game, but always feel that permadeath is the way to go 😅
Don’t get hit
oh boy
Always have rested bonus
hardcore in valheim sounds awful
Your first priority should really be hammer then campfire
So far it's been clear sailing until I hit the first dungeons, those small corners and more mobs at the same time are painful..
Make sure to have walls and moats for your base
It's actually quite fun for as far as I can say!
yeah first time early game into chambers can be painful I recommend fully upgraded shield and club with 2 hp and stamina food
And stagbreaker if you can figure out a way to get it before bronze
is there also any way to make dodge easier? As in a 1 button thing instead of block+jump?
As far as I’m aware no
what's stagbreaker?
you quickly get used to dodging tho
BIG hammer 😄
It’s the first big hammer you unlock at Black Forest tier, can attack enemies through walls and makes burial chambers a lot more manageable
and it's simply craftable?
Atgeir and a club weapon is the way to go for Black Forest
you need core wood and some other things I don’t remember
I think deer trophies too
yeah it's already getting easier after a few deaths 😅 also learning the timing of the attack of the mobs helps a lot
hmm alright, I'll go and hunt for that one, just did a quick search, seems promising indeed!
Good luck
thanks for the tips! Also, any recommendations for food early game? I've been doing stag+boar meat and honey so far (and before, berries and mushrooms)
That’s pretty much the best food available to you at meadows tier
Awesome
Then when you get into Black Forest more and start cultivating carrots and get a cauldron going you’ll have some better options
Depends on your pc
Just try out the game with and without vulkan and see which one performs better
so does vulkan require a better pc or is it the other way around
isnt vulkan just for specific brands of graphic cards?
alr ill try out the game now
not really
if you have trouble with performance in vulkan you should try the other one, and vice versa
General advices for successing in game suffice also for deathless runs but some that helped the most during my deathless runs (non-spoilery):
- Always be rested (!!!)
- Avoid going into new biomes during night
- Prepare your gear, foods and utilities accordingly
- Pick your fights, have backup plan for retreating safely
- If you are fairly new, learn some core mechanics like parrying, dodging, utilising stagger on enemies, resistances of mobs against certain damage types (indicated by color of damage numbers) etc.
- Don't limit yourself using different weapon types
man i rly hope they dont nerf mage to the ground in DN
like as a reaction to how OP it is now
I do those but I raise the ground over the 3 spawners so they become indestructible but keep spawning ennemies
Pick them off from range
Or just get good and dodge, trust me it works, I'm in the same predicament. Although I'm on hardcore so I guess I have a lot more motivation
Seekers are very small so you can jump over them to get 1-2 safe hits behind
just flung myself across the ocean with a catapult, and I bounced off the ground and went straight through the return portal
I hope you clipped it lol
unfortunately I missed it
Or use a huge shield
A tower shield? Especially in later biomes, their block armor is just too low for 2-star enemies
yeah, tower shields are best for hordes of weaker enemies, bucklers are best for single strong enemies, round is hybrid
Tower shields are also great for bosses as you won’t stagger them with a parry anyway.
why not just dodge
true but only if you plan on being a tank in the first place, and I only really see that in multiplayer
I can't think of a single boss fight where a little more block armor is worth moving 20% slower.
tbh i cant think of a single boss fight where the 20% slow mattered
i remember outrunning bonemass poison on iron armor
and moder missiles
running from bonemass poison is wild
I make a terrain pillar for Moder because there isn’t much space for running on mountains
i aint crafting poison resistence mead just for bonemass
it's not even expensive
yeah but, why even craft it, its not that hard to dodge it
because you can just facetank it easily with mead, along with the 20 billion blobs it summons
It’s not hard to dodge, but with 75% of damage removed + damage reduction from your iron armor, it will do nothing, giving you much more time to attack
ig its good if you just tryna tank everything
the only attack from bonemass I bother dodging are the swipes, everything else I just beat the shit out of em with the mace
kinda justifiable on vh but yea
yeah running from everything is justifiable on vh
How do I activate no craft costs for my world? I didn't see it in starting world modifiers screen
It has to be done with commands
there is a world modifier called "no build cost"
That’s different to no craft cost
yes, I found the command nocost, I just thought it wasn't working because the items weren't highlighted like with no build cost.
ah nvm then
round also apply more "force" to parries, but im not sure what that does exactly
Block Force = Block Knockback
oh
that actually annoys me in game because often I end up knocking an enemy too far for a counterattack
-# Welcome to why I hate Frostner 😄
At least you get to hit them at least once
Sometime I parry a charred warrior and they end up flying so far away that I gotta run to them to do anything
two handed supremacy
of course by the time I get to them they are already on their way to marry their sword with my face
worst part about beating Fader is randomly seeing charred outside of the ashlands lol
arent smaller shields good against bosses anyway because you get more armor when you parry?
in theory they would be, but you can't realistically keep parrying a boss without getting staggered, which is why tower shields end up being better
the charred dont bother me, its the seekers that come visit you after the queen is dead. they think my walls are just a suggestion and my chickens are nuggets
I also prefer fighting charred over seekers
ohhhh i fucking hate that seekers spawn in the meadows thats just so excessive...
at least you get lobster meat outta them seekers
my main problem with seekers is mobility
Parrying bosses doesn’t stagger them, so blocking with a normal or tower shield saves stamina and you still take very low damage
you literally can't outrun em
when i recommended removing charred and seeker spawns from the meadows it seemed to be well received by others..
You can jump straight over them though
I guess a tower shield does provide sufficient armor
gamers when the brutal survival game they bought is brutal
i am not in the meadows for the challenge aspect
Can we block and poke with spears?
yeah, imo the spawns happening in meadows at least thematically make sense until Fulings at most, and even they're pushing it. I don't like seeing the queen's children or Fader's victims somehow making the journey from the fuckin middle of nowhere on my world just to harrass me at spawn
doesn't change the fact you bought a brutal survival game ?
why not spawn fucking fader wherever the player has their house just for the sake of it after you beat the deep north 🥶
It slows you down a ton and restricts what you can stagger to enemies with low stagger limits and health. They’re not always bad, but very situational.
I dont think valheim is advertised as a brutal survival game
which is why i have a ballista aimed at my chickens with a seeker trophy attached so it knows what to shoot
It doesn't even need to be said how much whatever you're saying doesn't matter in correlation to what i'm saying, If a game wasn't fun i wouldn't play it nevermind buy it.
It is. Everywhere
wait this game is supposed to be brutal?
yeah there's a difference between "oh it's just a brutal game" and actual game design
anyone got a torn spirit for trade. trying to not kill the boss just yet?
yeah it is actually, straight on the store page lmao
From steam: A brutal exploration and survival game for 1-10 players, set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture. Battle, build, and conquer your way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage!
Its not a brutal survival game by the way, Its a half-way survival game of mediocre difficulty with some annoying features.
fun is subjective
I know about brutal games, I played through God Hand
Its not brutal, Thats silly, Annoying ASS features are not brutal they're tedious.
Like untameable necks
I dunno what I'm walking into but there's some things I think I found kinda annoying
a suggestion I've seen is to allow the current boss's enemies to spawn in meadows, then they leave once the boss dies. Like the boss is sending their minions to kill you (in a way that isn't raids)
like friggin' bat raids
they just massacre your chickens arbitrarily.
Seekers spawning in my peaceful meadows farm is not brutal when i can 2 shot them its just really really annoying.
Smashing up all my shit and killing my pets
me enjoying the mountains right before a golem punts me off it
They’re spawning to keep night dangerous as you progress. Sleep if you don’t want that
brutal is the 3rd chapter boss in darkest dungeon 2. valheim is chill
for some reason blocking on a slope gives you crazy knockback
yeah valheim is not hard outside of the ashlands (and those people that play on max difficulties)
I mean did yall play God Hand?
yk, fair point, my problem with it is mainly just the charred and seekers being really unfitting thematically, I get encouraging sleep because I do that 90% of the time anyways lol
I haven't played God Hand, I just remember the "godhand edit" meme.
so just sleep 🙂
The first mooks in the game can instakill you by sucker punching you in the groin
and it happens super fast
Stone walls might be sufficient to keep seekers from getting pesky about your animal pens maybe, I dunno. It's been a while since I played at that point and I don't remember how much trouble I did or didn't have on that front.
its like DING gotta start over now
first trip to swamp
and idk what ron is on about with seekers pillaging the meadows farm, sounds like a defenses issue tbh
The kind of energy I wish I had.
2 star bow draugr
brutal is ascension lvl 10+ in slay the spire. brutal is probably the souls series. brutal is outward. brutal is a lot of things, but it is not valheim
i remember them flying over my stone walls
anwyay its always like that. I also have a series of annoyance with this game and whenever I was sharing them, there was always someone saying "boohoo brutal game"
Hardcore/skill arguments haven't been of interest to me, Valheim just is what it is and I tweaked a few things about it like death penalty and portal allowance.
oh shit. right that's an issue
🪽
Just sleep it's not that hard
seekers when i fucking stunlock them with the shock atgeir
literal 1 button action
I guess you could uh use uh campfires and stuff to block out spawn points, if you identify where they spawn at exactly at night.
I don't know what the limit is or isnt for their flying height
seekers when I pull out my magical electric 12 guage (as Odin intended)
i mean the sleep thing is true but i keep forgetting sleep exists. also in the game
the 2 star seeker when i show them the "parry into power combo" move
I already do sleep, But i don't like being forced into doing certain things 😾
I remember once having a seeker fly onto my boat, breaking it, then devouring me in the water like viking soup.
You aren’t being forced to do anything, you can choose to stay up and allow dangerous enemies to spawn
why are there dangerous enemies in the meadows.
They keep nights dangerous to encourage you to sleep, but not to force you
what equipments should i use as mage do i go full eitr equips?
stay up at night to engage in a dangerous melee
And its still the meadows.
more trash for the oblit machine for coal
I would say by that point the armor and weapons allow one to almost casually dispatch seekers on some more easily made food items, but I haven't had them massacre my pets yet either I don't think.
It's bats that massacre my chickens
Bats are why my raids are off.
depends, personally I preferred 2 eitr 1 health for when I was still doing mistlands, during ashlands I did 2 eitr and the mistlands feast, and finally for endgame I alternate between 2 eitr and ashlands feast, or 1 eitr and both feasts depending on if I need more eitr or I'm just doing general exploration
Counterpoint to every, Single, Thing, anyone says about difficulty or encouraging this that or the next thing, I don't care, Its the meadows, Its supposed to be chill.
You don’t need any health if you have a staff of protection
and yeah, just fullsend on mage and wear the full set no matter what, staff of protection is your lifeblood
the first drake raid should teach you to have a roof
I can actually kinda get that. Y'know what, if they had an option for that (enable/disable higher level biome spawns in lower level biomes) I think that'd be a good suggestion. Some people probably wanna play like that.
just do what I did and live on a spawnproofed island, best decision I've made in this game lmao
Windows.
i guess all my windows should be crystal tho.
mmm
on my last base i had 3 layers of walls and moats around my house because i was so sick and tired of raids
oh right, this is also a thing one can do. If you don't mind boating and portaling everywhere. Which if you're importing your metals/non-teleportables via ship, or just teleporting them in anyways, sure.
yeah, you already gotta do a lot of boating if you play with teleport metals off, so it's not a huge deal, if you wanna make real sure that you have everything, find a plains island surrounded by a couple useful biomes like mistlands, forest, swamp
and once you unlock ashlands the problem is gone entirely, grausten portals are a godsend
Swag. Yeah, a Plains island lets you farm like almost everything else. besides the mushrooms
funnily enough, my plains island actually has a tinier mistlands island right next to it that I use for my shroom farming, so I'm completely self sufficient
if only that island had a root, I'd have sap too
play on easy then 👍even better, kill the queen on a separate world, transport the mats to the current world, and there ya go
That is almost perfect.
I'm at an explorable Plains island, not a tiny one though, with a buttload of tar pits and goblin camps ripe for picking.
Trying the "regular" approach this time with mum, friends and I: walled settlement to keep the goblins out.
Im really curious about the next biome
Samesies. Should be the last one, yes?
Do we have an idea when we can expect the deep north to drop?
I was told they want to rework the ocean too
Has there been any teasers or info on the Deep North for that matter? I forgot.
An ocean rework would be interesting. Sailing, I feel, is a bit neglected.
I feel there could be more mechanical variety to boats. Like, right now they all work they same, they're just small, medium, and large. no one cares about the raft. and I guess with the sort of exception of the Drakkar having a mcguffin to sail in boiling water but you don't really interact with that.
There is currently no timeline when it will be released.
The drakkar was disappointing for me because its really a useless ship.
wouldn't expect anything in 2025 tbh
apart from aurora borealis nope
dang really, a whole year of nothing?
still haven't seen the aurora in valheim
It was teased in the latest dev blog. #news message
I know!
I was excited to have a new ship, and it's...
big
that's it. it's just big. Not even a lower deck you can walk in, it doesn't do anything a longship doesn't except survive in boiling water, while having a super deep, inconvenient draft to run aground with and the maneuverability of a drunken whale. It's so huge you need a dock to board it without swimming up to the ladder, which is pretty cool but it needs to be a trait of an otherwise actually cool ship.
Thank ya! 🙂
That guy in meadow's glade voice is playing Valheim for 2 days
Hola
Crazy
good news I'm taming my first wolf, bad news it's all the way in the deep north and my main base is near the ashlands
Taming is a mechanic ive literally never used
I have only used it for my own comfort, I like having pets
yk, I think I'm only gonna use one stone portal in my entire portal hall just to save on space
and if I need to transport ores to another destination I'll just enter the portal name there
I hate easy, And seekers in the meadows is not easy or hard its annoying, Like i've reiterated.
i provided a solution to your problem
How do people shop for features they like in world seeds? Did people just Random a bunch of times looking for things like traders close to spawn?
can chickens be fed vineberry seeds
most likely yes, but what they probably do is use a map viewer to see where everything is without loading in the world, then using a seed they like once they find close traders on the map
Thanks, I guess I need to try and figure out what things can be seen in the map viewer and how to scan through some of those
is there a channel where i can find people to play with cuz im scared of the plains
Ask in #1024264966712340510
is it normal that asksvin only breed when rendered
Yes.
what does "couldnt resolve join code" mean when joining with code
anyone experiences frequent crashes in Valheim?
how to deal with a 2 star archer dragr and a 1 star archer dragr in the sunken crypts when i only have troll armour
least crashy game i've ever played at least for me, think i had 1 genuine crash in all my 3000 hours
Problem 1 is you are using troll armor
It’s not made for fights with tough enemies in confined spaces
You’ll need to try and get a sneak attack in and capitalise on the extra damage
maybe its my world that got corrupted
typically I just shoot or poke at them through a gap in the scrap iron, if you've already fully unblocked the room you might just wanna mark it down as lost lol
ive been playing with a bad ram dimm
can a world get corrupted btw, and still be playable?
Anyone playing valheim room for 1 more?
god why tf do green torches use guck as fuel
refueling all my torches is already annoying but at least resin is easy to get
atleast abominations drop them now
I wanna use the green torches to make my portal room a little more funky but the guck is really deterring me
might use blue instead depending on how they look at night
since I can handle greydwarf eyes as fuel, I've got a farm already
what staff do i use for ashlands?
first time or including the ashlands staves?
embers is alright at dealing with most of the enemies tbh, maybe bring the frost staff for bonemaws and valkyries, skeletts are good for extra damage and drawing aggro, and obviously you want the staff of protection
I recommend getting the staff of fracturing asap since it's really easy to craft and it's a pretty good sidegrade to the staff of embers
thanks sir
Do any of you have good screenshots of how you incorporated trophies into your bases? I'm somewhat struggling to figure out a nice way to do so with some of the larger ones.
