-# or simply the fact that it's much bigger and thus looks slower
I propose a drag race!
XD
Did you expect a Gentlemen's Club?
Well no but I didnt expect to see this many celebrities
So many stars
BUT, I made some green crossbow and it was very handy
It's a shame you needed to clarify that. It was a great joke.
Its hard to make subtle humor because sometime its too subtle (or just not funny)
Wouldn't it be fun if starred enemies dropped some item that allowed us to build floor pieces that looked like 'Walk of Fame' type tiles.
It would be funny for a while but these kind of things tends to dilute the setting. Valheim, I feel, aims to be grim and metal. If you start to allow stuff like that, it gradually becomes silly.
But yeah, it would be funny.
There's maypoles, xmas trees, gift boxes, and pumpkin lamps...
That is true, but at least those are seasonal
Oscars season!
Maypoles arent silly though. Its an ancient european tradition. And while they probably didnt have decorated trees, christmas also is.
We could award Golden-Flat-Earths!
turnip lamps is also older than you'd think
well... not that old actually, like not viking old
Yes, turnips not pumpkins... you're right.
Besides the Meadows, what's y'all's favorite biome to build up a home and actually use it in?
also question, can onions, turnips, and carrots be grown in the plains or is that just barley and flax?
yes all first 5 in plains
I don't have one. My home is always in meadows. I have a bunch of satellite bases, but I lay my head on a pillow in the meadows.
which is what makes plains bordering a mistlands arguably the closest thing to a 'correct' answer to your other quetion
but yeah I do what @fallen zephyr does myself
Cool beans.
When i find a cool spot. Last game was at a border of 4 biomes (meadows, bf, swamp and mountain), the one before i made my main base under an Elder altar.
Current game has my base in the middle of a lake in the black forest.
This is a good plan - farming across the plains/mistands border is efficient. I just want my home to be peaceful and pleasant.
yeahhhhh...the DOWNSIDE is without adequate campfire spam a 2 star gjall wandering into your home base IS a possibility...
i do like putting my bases on rivers instead of directly on the coast though. I like sailing up rivers.
Been playing with friends and mum. All our productive stuff is in our same first house, even though I made a big, cozy building in a mountain. But yeah, Plains bordering Mistlands sounds like the best of both worlds currently for agriculture.
wait gjalls can have stars?
only night spawns, but yes
they sure can lol
I haven't ever seen a star gjall yet
I'm sure I'll crap my viking pants when I do.
yeah you probs wouldn't see it UNLESS you happened to setup a base you spend a lot of time in at one of said plains/mistlands intersections...
Here's something I don't know - do starred Gjalls drop starred ticks?
OR you're just a risk seeker lol, love running through the hardest biomes at night
once you have a staff of frost seekers are just cannon fodder, stars or not
Have you killed Fader?
Nope
ty.
not yet, last thing to do other than collecting dyrnwyn, but i'm taking my sweet time as usual
Wandering black forest at night hits different when you come across a band of charred warriors.
oh
oh dear that's right that's a thing
This playthrough is going to get real interesting after we beat Fader. Still haven't got Moder though.
i also forget that was a thing lol, will be fun
that's why i sleep at night like a proper, well rested viking lol
the threat of the advanced mobs in earlier biomes not so bad IMO because they spawn in manageable amounts, easily distracted by the other faction mobs which they will also fight with, it's the 2 conditions that spawn 2 star version of ALREADY the most fearsome mobs in the game (e.g. 2 star gjall, 2 star ticks, 2 star asksvin, etc.) that terrifies me
i don't recall if the post-boss night adds cna spawn with stars--off top of my head, seen many pairs of seekers running around meadows etc. never seen any with stars tho
Nope, the seekers spawning in night do not have stars 🙂
Night spawn in different biomes unlocked by boss kills are all 0 stars
this is probably for the best
For sure
0-star gjall spawning in other biomes after beating queen would be fun though
or just kept the raid or added a slightly different one (maybe with seekers, ticks and gjall?) , and let it trigger outside mistlands, instead of deactivating it after queen
gjall are seriously scary, like that 2 star I still remember getting a sneak in from so far away, putting so so many arrows into it, I was wondering why he wasn't dying at that point
which is when he turned the corner and I saw that it was a 2 star gjall
Why do boats keep sailing on hosted servers if. you get dc and your the only one on them. Shouldn't they stop? I just spent 12 hours on a no map server and got DC'd and when I logged back on my boat and all my silver and iron i just grinded for is gone. Today I got another boat to go searching for it and my power went out I log back and once again im sitting in the middle of the ocean and no boat in sight... is there something else Im missing or is just how the game works?
They don't, boats stop when empty.
My 2nd boat was empty
He means when there are no players. Loot in the hold doesn't matter.
I understand nobody else was on the boat and no items in the boat.
The first boat had silver and iron in the storage
unless someone found your boat and took it, it should still be where it was when you got booted from the server.
😂😂
What probably happened is that the boat stayed exactly where it was when you got disconnected but your character position was not saved so you end up in the water where you were when it last saved
Boat stealers
Very frustrating
Right! world save and character save wouldn't necessarily have been aligned on a server.
I mean, anyone would do the same if they found a stack of fat cash
If it’s server related issue just spawn the silver yourself
Its a hosted server
I saw like months ago someone suffering from this too
Im not the admin
in a server they'd need the admin, but nothing shold stop them in theory just spawning all the missing metal in on a solo world, stuffing it into their pockets, then hopping on the server
Yeah... I didnt want to have to resort to doing that. I like to play the server as if this is the world my character exisit on only. But that would be an easy solution...
At least you know the boats are going to be exactly where they were last you saw them
i completely understand and would feel the exact same, though, after searching for the boat for what I decided was a "reasonable" amount of time, I'd feel no compunction about doing it since you earned it already, and are just deprived of it by a technical fluke (shit not working the way it's "supposed" to in ideal conditions)
The only way the boat position would be different is if the server crashed, in that case both you and the boat would be reverted to an earlier save and in the same spot. But since the server kept going it ended up saving the boat position but your character was no longer online when it saved and it didn't automatically save when you got disconnected
Yeah it all makes sense. So likely the boats are out there in the world somewhere.. I was around the 2nd circle of Plains / Black Forest / Swamps areas. Just on the edige where if I sailed further I would start to see Mistlands.
It happened to me before a couple times, I know how it feels
If you were exploring a new area then there should be a line of uncovered area on your map, where it ends you should theoreticaly find your boat 🙂
Im playing on a no map server
If I had a map it would be super easy to find my old spot
and sail around in a radius of that location
Ah, that makes it quite a bit harder, true that 😅
I just dont want to exploit a feature of just loading a new map creating what i lost and loading back onto the hosted server... but also im torn because I didn't lose the items due to a sea serpent or something like that. I would accept that fate if I died naturally in the game... then it would be on me.
I am having enormous problems in mystlands biome
yeah the "no map" bit really complicates the crap out of finding the damn (presumably) lost adrift boat
it keeps sending me level 3 ceratures
@subtle perch stop going in at night
most/all level 3s in mistlands don't spawn except at night
I really love the no map feature too. Im putting up lighthouses and even hand drawing the main island and areas for fun. Its been a blast putting up roads and signs etc.
Im on month 3 invested into this server
If you are still able to find the spot where you came back to, you know your boat will be somewhere between 0 minute and 30 minutes of sailing away
If it's not near land it's probably better to just get more metal as annoying as that may be at least it's a sure way of getting back on track despite being a huge setback
First time in the ashlands, been keeping myself spoiler free. stone portals are a godsend
also also, if you should replace the metal, then later should as so happen to stumble across the boat, you can just obliterate its contents to "keep yourself honest"--although, I would argue, that maybe you've earned the bonus as a treat for your suffering
Definitely ain't
really wish I could put a surtling powered spotlight on the prow of my ship sometimes in the fog we get
or have a transparent sail
i'll test it with ESP sometime, sight isn't a good indicator here considering the size difference between the two ships.
a mountain moving at 50 kmh is gonna look a lot slower than a car moving at the same speed.
ok i need help i cannot unblock myself
The turn rate at least is way down
what do you mean?
#screenshots message sad taps starts playing
and if the turn rate is down, you can't compensate the wind as well, you move more slowly
managed to save the loot
8 deaths. More I play mystland, more I am convinced it's not made for alone players
Try the root harnesk
ahhhhhh, you mean your stuff getting stuck gotcha--it's definitely an intense biome for sure
The entire game is balanced primarily for singleplayer
can u say the exact situation where u die?
a level 3 smasher and a level 2 seeker, plus dwarves: on level 2 mage, one level 2 cross, and many of them
while true the later biomes DO often get harder, or at least introduce new things to have to learn so can feel harder at first
almost everything
What equipment and food are you using?
the dwarves at least you avoid attacking or at least wait until one 'side' (dwarves or bugs) wins, then kill the winners
I died by fire, by fall damage, by monster attack, by pink thing explosion, by arrows, by stung, by arrows, by impacy
that way you don't hit one accidentally trying to "help" then you have TWO groups trying to kill you (of which honestly dwarves tends to be the more dangerous IMO)
everything strong I could made
for the floating blimp guys that shoot fireballs (gjall) make sure you use a bow or spear (piercing damage) on that orange sac on their underside
padded full, plus plumes mantle, plus blues sword, and spear, plus fire potion
and full powered blackmetal shield
equipment is pretty good sounds like
Lightfoot mead is incredibly useful because the increased jump height allows you do dodge so much more
if theres a lot of enemies, then u either need to play more carefully (kill few mobs u can manage, then continue). or u might be kiting into more enemies, which means u need to try to be more aware of ur surroundings (like be aware of safe areas u can kite to)
I tried to do the technique of bringing a cart to destroy the ward to get marble on a hard server, silver age, we are waiting to kill moder. Ended up flipping the cart over on my way down there so I started destroying my own cart to try again
that what I tried
i was calmy waiting among dwarves, then enmies stormed in
then the level 3 smasher appeared
Destroying my own cart got them mad and they all swarmed me, had to run like a coward not being able to see anything
literally same
didn't even OCCUR to me that breaking MY cart I JUST built in the radius of ward still up would aggro them
whats a lvl 3 smasher? 2 stars is the max
but then, thinking on the mechanics in hindsight, i realize I probably could've expected
Level 3 is two stars
yes 2 stars
I assume they mean 2 star for level 3, and smasher as in soldier since they smash the ground
Never occurred to me either but yeah it kind of make sense
yah the one who smash ground
and that his mom is a b...eauty insect
key against soldier is to position urself behind it when its smashing the ground
Parry them then jump around them (or directly over once you have lightfoot mead) to hit their weak point with a secondary attack
and then maybe get in 2-3 hits on its back
oh yeah, their butt is a weak point
I am sure just having a root harnesk would have allowed you to avoid at least half of your deaths
i dont think parrying gives you enough time to get behind it and strike. you're gonna run out of stamina that way
yah i know
aight so you're just getting overwhelmed with mobs?
parry is not a option, i get almost oneshotted with a block
It does. You have to jump so you can move during the attack animation
ya that too
ya problem is u use a lot of stamina to get behind it and then u maybe just get 1 attack off
I parry the first of the side stomp from the side, go to the back, do the special attack with the sword and do like 1500 damage to seeker soldiers
One sword secondary does a lot of damage if it hits the weak point
anyway so whats the prob? u seem to know how to kill soldier @subtle perch
Admitelly that's with the strongest sword for raw damage, the dyrnwyn
it's still quite effective with any sword of plains tier or up IME
that i cannot make an inches of mistake, and i was stormed
In normal difficulty a black metal sword hitting weak point secondaries to a staggered soldier should kill it in 3-4 hits
just do what i said about going to its back when its smashing, gives u tons of time
and stormed.. idk i guess i need to see clip to understand fully
am i tripping or is the crystal battleaxe better then iron axe on cutting wood
no it's a higher tier so more damage, plus that secondary attack is fast
the battleaxes are actually supposedly more efficient than at least equivalent tier 1 hand axes--never actually crunched the math myself to confirm, but it definitely feels efficient
damn thats nice
I’m pretty sure that it’s slower for one tree but because there’s no damage reduction for multiple targets it’s faster for multiple trees next to each other
if you're a battleaxe main you don't need to carry a wood chopper, or a shield! Free up those slots 🙂
yeah, it has better stats then max lvl iron buckler
All I know is that I obliterated the black metal axe when I saw the thundering axes go on trees
gigachad tbh
i'm going back and forth on berserker axes in the ashlands however. I may end up going back to nidhogg and shield
I do both, axes for weak ennemies, sword and shield for strong ones
weirdly enough i kinda prefer lighting slayer on very hard in ashlands
because its just 1 massive attack, u can jump and as you land you do it. with axes u sometimes gotta do multiple swings and if u dont stagger ur enemy, then ya.. rip
I probably wouldn't use a shield on very hard
yeah, i certainly do enjoy the axes for the weak enemies. but then i wonder, if they are weak, i can just as easily use sword/shield. And i like sword/shield better for strong... axes are satisfying however
ya shield is a no no
Yeah true
i use axes for archers and twitchers
slayer for warriors, himmini for morgen
bow mostly for valk
Run mead, stam mead, jump mead, eitr mead, ember staff, bubble staff, bow, mistwalker, shield, bilebombs, all as leveled as I can make them....Should be fine!
on very hard, that is. in normal i use axes for all :D
I already know it aint gonna be
i'm using jade ripper on valks. I need to figure out melee with them still
On my last very hard playthrough which I stopped because I died during the swamps, it deleted all my gear and reseted my skills. My plan was just to use the atgeir, knife and bows
why do people play very hard
for the added challenge
i like to have fun when i play games.
For maximal suffering
lol, they're just better than us brother
I only did because I was modded and wanted it to feel fair
its good to play higher difficulty if u wanna improve ur skills
(It wasn't, it just threw everything out of whack)
generally when i am playing and something doesn't go my way i don't like that and i don't want to experience more of it 👽
Ah but now I hardly die on normal
ya i mean everyone is the same to a certain extent
Though I'm sure I will now
i've got like the death penalty on minimum, resource rates up, just farming and fishing and building for the most part....
same, i do very easy on death penalty, 1.5x resource rate
do you just up the difficulty of mobs then.
Yeah having played on very hard or even hard will make you much more aware of all the attacks. And while playing you know when you are 1 hit away from death and for those scenario that experience of being able to dodge all attacks will come in very useful
and very hard combat and more raids
i mean i might do that, but raids kinda annoy me.
ya i feel u
i didn't die this entire time until the zil and thungr raid where a two star berserker fucking one shot me
i got raided by the bros when i was trying to build a draugr farm. i accidently had too many workbenches near me. that sucked. killed my spawners
ya berserkers have kinda weird timing on their attacks. can be tricky
Is is on normal mode and i have 2 of the best health foods, full padded, full black metal shield and when i returned and used bonemass i still couldn't parry.
Their delay of their attack depends on which side they’re swinging from
thungrs a fucking joke in comparison 🤣....like compared to a 2 starred charred versus lord reto.
if i see a heavy hitter with stars, i don't try to parry those things 🙂
i like when they make tricky enemies like that. charred warriors with their feinting is awesome
cant say i enjoy dyin to em tho
Just jump backwards, then while descending sprint forwards and hit a secondary
Oh god I landed at night
i'm assuming Ashlands landing? i salute you. good luck
we're fine- It's all fine
i would back that ship out and portal home off a spire, and come back in the morning 🙂
portal as close to shore, kill anything that hear you build it and get out of there
I only had to kill;
2 askvin (no stars)
8? twitchers
2 voltures
6? warriors
3 archers
depending on the rate they were coming, it's not the worst
That's a quiet night.
asksvin and warriors are the real threats there. and at least warriors are slow
asksvins punch above their weight class imo
1 bonemaw coming in and 1 while I was on the beach*
Inv space is a real problem with all these meads
ya ashlands has a lot of item types, it will fill ur inventory after 1 fight
But you need basically none of them
i recommend not dying, and dealing damage to enemies until they die, because then they can't damage you any more.
Anybody ever tried interlacing multiple shields in such away that the archers can't fire more'n a few inches in front of them?
Huh. I landed right next to a putrid hole
-With a sword clue- OH MY
uhhh, guys?
(yeahhh i kinda just used the fly command cuz i fucking hate sailing through the ashlands)
it sux
it was fun the first 2 times i ever tried to do it, it took me like 5 in-game days to find my first real ashlands continent bbetween a bunch of stupid islands, thematically the boiling seas are awesome i just wish the rocks were further apart.
2 star draugr archer spawns in crypt. slime jumps and blocks the only escape. if theres anytime to smash my monitor then its now
What I do in those crypts is to make sure not all of the muddy scrap pile is removed so I would prevent the monsters in the other room from entering the one I am in.
Then retreat until I'm able to hide behind the wall near the entrance and pick the enemies off with a bow.
Fire arrows work well against blobs. The iron arrows you can find in the chests there are even better.
yeah, imo the spikes should only start appearing when you're nearing an island
hello everyone... any tip for getting boars +2 or +3 ?
Mark spawn points at your map, set up an area to capture the animals and check regularly if any starred boars have spawned.
Thx for answering. 2 question: How can I identify a Spawn point? And what if my base are far away of there ?
There are no 'spawn points' in that sense.
how is it ?
Mobs can spawn anywhere in suitable biomes.
Most creatures spawn completely randomly. Only very few creatures (growths, skeletons in Black Forest, maybe others I can’t think of) have set respawn points
In the case of boars, starred boars only spawn from 800m out from the centre.
or any range for 1 time spawns 🤓
so... i have to look there, if they are without star, kill and wait until reappear ?
True, but let's not complicate things.
I thought we loved being pedantic here!
Yes, but they won’t reappear in the same spot. Killing them is just allowing more to spawn nearby.
It has its place.
Just play the game and don't worry about it too much.
but.. i need make a farm... we are 3 playing the same world and it is hard to get food xD
You can make a farm, no problem. You don't need boar for that.
0-star boars are good enough, make two farms if you need to
hmm yeah, that is true
if you can't find a 1 or 2 star just increase your production of the boars with normal ones
and if i find a boar in some where, there are a easy way to move to my base ?
It will follow you if you anger it, just don’t go too far ahead of it.
where I placed my base... there are no boars :/ hehe
If it’s in meadows they’ll spawn eventually
i have to wait until meadows, I'm just going to snow xD
Wait, you're worrying about boars and you're playing in Mountains?
Depending at the distance, you can create a small "road" just wide enough for a single boar using the wooden fences and push the boar to another "coral". If you got work benches at regular intervals, you can build a fence or door behind you so the boar won't run back.
For the larger areas you can use the Abysmal Harpoon to drag them into a "road" again, then rince and repeat.
easiest way to find starred boars is by looking for boar runestones
they pretty consistently spawn boars with 1 or 2 stars
its like my 5 time playing from begging
honestly boar farming in the mountains is still pretty valid, you don't really stop using boar meat and the scraps until plains/mistlands
food is so bored ... but well planice become easier with bread
tbh, I prefer blood pudding for an actual stamina food at first, bread is just nice once you've got an excess of flour
but blood pudding needs blood form swamp ?
yeah, leech farming isn't that bad
really ? haha
gonna need the bloodbags anyways for plenty of other stuff
the trick is to do literally anything else while standing near the shore, by the time you're finished with whatever outpost or whatever you're doing there'll be like 20 leeches nibbling your boat
So, food. Do y'all think feasts are worth making?
Absolutely.
Which one's y'all's favorite?
the ones that are the best typically....lol....unless you mean aesthetically..
That depends on the biome I'm in.
Right now best I can have is Swamp tier feast. But hope to get Ocean tier soon enough and Mountain (my current biome) after.
i mean after the first 3 which have the same stats its all uphill from there.
i like the looks of the meadows feast still after all this time.
First three are useful to replace one of the others if you lack resources.
Haven't unlocked any feasts past the seafarer's feast
aesthetically though, plains pie picnic sounds like a good time.
it's just a crapload of pies
Craplload of Lox Meat Pies
I like mountain, swamp, and plains feast as base food late game.
about to fight the elder on hard, pretty proud of this world so far
my spawn was right next to a shore with ocean access so I made a little port there as my main base and I'll be able to pretty easily make that into a big base
gonna be real for a few seconds.
maybe a unique and required bait for each and every single biome is just annoying for fishing, for fish that are largely functionally identical with the one exception of the angler fishing having a specific recipe for it.
yep, my biggest problem isn't even the unique baits, it's having to swap them out constantly and running into areas with more than 1 fish type
annoying as fuck when your forest or plains bait keeps getting wasted on meadows fish
There's 2 more exception for the trollfish and grouper for potions, at this point there's more exceptions than non exceptions which means they are not exceptions
imo it's the best looking feast, up there with the mistlands and ocean feasts
The bait doesn't get wasted if a fish try to bite at it
often you can even catch a fish, pick the fish up while it's at 2 meters and the bait is still on the rod and you can catch more fish with it
welp, now that the elder's dead I gotta go searching for a good swamp to raid for iron
gonna look for my traders too while I'm at it
why is it only foggy when I want to sail
Njord does not give his blessings
Just unlucky timing I guess.
njord needs a kick in the amber pearls
god why tf do these greydwarves have to break their own nest
hi scissor
is hard hard
for meadows and black forest it's a bit of a learning experience but not unfair
then you hit swamp and you basically eat shit, does not help that I also haven't found a single fucking crypt yet and am waiting on turnips to finish growing for my spice rack
i mean isn't it like that in normal difficulty anyways when you're new and first get to the swamp
not nearly to the same extent
getting touched by any poison damage rn without resistance is basically a guaranteed death
because leeches poison for like 10-15 seconds and blobs for 20+ seconds
0* draugr are okay, a bit beefy but manageable
starred draugr are basically troll levels of tanky
i partway wish there was a way to hide meginjord....
fair
man theres honestly no weapon type more uninteresting to me than the atgeir....i don't even feel like leveling it 😮💨
ahh the mistlands what a bittersweet reunion, i can't see fucking shit.
dude the wisplight needs to be buffed i swear.
Can anyone recommend a good modpack for me and my friends?
too much channels 😅
Ive noticed these days that I have seriously choppy music, and this is seemingly due to my graphics. It doesnt stutter when im alt tabbed, like right now as I am typing this message, but it does when im messing around in my chests. Anyone knows something about it?
Also, unrelatedly, are there plans to add more features to boats?
Like, passengers rowing, or crossbow mounts?
This has been discussed many times, but from what I’ve seen I think this’ll be very unlikely.
unfortunate. I hate hitting my own ship with my crossbow
They will not add players rowing
what about the choppy music?
Do I have to bring a cart in order to transport silver? heard that a silver vein will get me through the run with ease
depends on a lot of stuff, getting silver isn't the hard part, but getting it off the mountain is difficult if you don't have portaling metals enabled
I would recommend finding a decent sized mountain and making a base specifically for gathering and forging things out of silver
throw a cart of silver off the mountain
at that point just turn a karve into a sled
4 new build items in bog witch....am i high, so thats the food preparation table, mead ketil, candles....aaaandd 🤔
barrel
oh
🗣️
i find it might have fallen off a bit already, still it does good for decoration probably.
honestly, for how easy they are to make and how little space they take up, they're pretty damn good
little more storage than a regular chest and like half the size
but yeah, I still just go for blackmetal chests whenever I can fit them
fuck yes
Idk why but this game really bores me. Like it's a really good game, and I have fun with it. Usually. But we just hit mountain level and my buddies wanna build and farm and mine and all that and I just wanna kill stuff. I'm not good at building, I'm not good at farming, I find Mining boring half the time, at least in this game, and annoying the other half of the time cause stuff decides to jump you. It's just feeling like a total slog. Idk what to do lol.
Early game it was pretty fun since You don't need a whole lot usually so you can kinda just start jumping to do stuff but now it's just boring.
how many hours you on
I have 90 total hours but as of recent... not many? I don't think?
We only play a couple hours at a time since they're only on at night for me
90? That's over 9000!!
haha....i am well into 1300 now...maybe i do have stockholm syndrome
I mean, I played Minecraft A LOT. But idk, this game just doesn't keep me entertained like Minecraft does.
Maybe it's because you see enemies more often during the night. Enemies that can take multiple hits.
i don't really know what to say, i think i have played for 90 hours consistently and gotten burnt out.
It's more engaging to fight stuff since there's more to fight at a time.
How do I check what my playtime is in the recent weeks?
It only says last played today so idk.
should be in your steam profile, the total hours played though not on a specific game i don't think, but if you mained one game atleast 75% of those hours you can tell
It can definitely feel like it's dragging on if you are more combat oriented. Maybe the next thing that would be interesting for you is finding hildir and starting her dungeons. Locating them can be a pain tho. So if you don't enjoy exploring either...
I mean I like exploring. But I hate using boats.
They feel janky as hell and I'm worried about capsizing or running into a sea serpent or finding myself in a high level biome and not being able to navigate
I like exploring by land. But by water it's terrifying and annoying.
And again, all my friends are focused on other stuff.
So I'm just by myself, which often gets me killed since I only have troll hide gear rn.
No I'm not running into mountains with underleveled gear. I just didn't wanna go for iron.
Takes up a lot of resources. And the only useful root piece is the chestpiece really
which I have on.
Basically I'm just too frail to be going into mountains by myself. Two wolves and I'm dead
I suppose if you aren't having too much fun with, taking a break while they catch up and want to go exploring again could be an option
That's the thing. I don't have money for a dedicated server.
They can only play if I decide to be online.
Ah, you're running the world
Yeah. So it's either I just sit there and they play while I play other games in the background, but that'll have it's own issues
Hmm. I mean it is possible to transfer world files.
or we just don't play.
World files? Like, data and stuff too? For everyone involved?
Like do world files include the builds and loot?
I cannot tell if my seed has an I or an L at the end. Lol
Ah, copy the character and paste into discord
Should be able to tell. Most fonts have a difference. Type an I and an l next to it Xd
I need someone to help me understand the bloodstone effect. For the bleeding nidhogg, the damage increases by 0.2% for every hp you're missing. The nidhogg does 135 slash, and 135 x 0.02 is 2.7. If you take 100 damage, would it add 270 to the 135 for a total of 405 slash?
so if you are missing 100HP, it is .2% dmg per missing HP. So 100 *.2% = 20%. So that means 135 becomes 162 (20% increase).
I never use Bloodstone in weapons - its not powerful enough.
oh yeah that's right
Okay yeah bloodstones are only useful for the fourth black forge upgrade 👍
but it is potentally more powerful than the other two effects.
It's just not as flashy, nor "specialized"
its actually not
the blue one would give you more reliable DPS
The red might give you a brief moment of higher alpha (so maybe good in Crossbow) - but outside of that - your either dead, or not doing much
Considering you need to keep the HP difference for the dmg to be applied
dunno about that, its 25% chance of dealing 75 extra damage, on top of 10 more damage.
That's an average of 28 extra damage
With a blood weapon and powerful hp foods, you can be missing a lot of hp and dealing potentially way more than 28 extra damage.
Its just that iolite weapons can hit many at once, and the green one can, well... paralize
but with blue I can then cop a random arrow or melee hit, allowing my DPS to continue.
You cop one attack while low on HP, you are dead, and your DPS is zero
cop?
get hit by
Where does that word come from? I never heard of that.
might be an Aussie slang word
Ah, the world down under
We do things differently here 🙂
But yeah, its a whole thing. My assumption is that you are "supposed" to carry, say, a ligthning weapon, and then switch to a blood weapon if you do get hit and are hurt a lot.
Anyway - my point remainds - the crossbow with red stone for an alpha can maybe work. There's a video where someone eats rotten meat, then eats 300 HP of food, and fires a crossbow sneak attack to one-shot fallen valyre.
But outside of that - meh
What you are really supposed to do is to play the way you want. Blood weapons looks cool.
If I get hurt alot - I'm not standing there and continuing to fight - you roll away, pop a HP pot around the corner, and go again
If the damage increase was 2% per level - it would be good. But .2% - its just not meaningful enough
And I do like that iolite weapons hit hard rather consistently. I dont like that it "took" one rank of refinement tho. My weapons are squishy and fragile. 😦
Also im thinking that if you are quite hurt during a fight, a blood weapon would stagger the enemy much more making the fight "safer". I dunno. I think there's a use for it, but I havent tried yet so maybe im just talking shit.
how effective would it be to have the Iolite berserkir axes and the jade mace, hit an enemy with the mace until it becomes immobilized, then go to town with the axes
I almost do that. I have a green crossbow.
Its not as great as you think because it really doesnt last long. But free hits are free hits so whatever.
What im thinking is that a green berserkir axe would be way better simply because it would paralyze all the time.
I feel like the bloodstone weapons would work best in multiplayer. Have your friend fight something to keep in focused on them, then you (with low health) come up behind and do a lot of damage
Primal Axes is actually one of my preferred favorite weapon. Paired with Klossen (Jade mace) you can keep enemies away with knockbacking and when the immobility procs you can switch to Primal Axes to hit them from back for proccing the immobility consistently.
Cheers.
Thank you~ 😄
hey guys.. i've a question regarding farming in valheim
Ask away 🙂
i noticed that when i'm reaping my crops it sometimes displays a small but bright flash of sparkles accompanied by a slight bell sound
followed by a +1 text in orange
what does that do?
And it should show a little orange +1 🙂 the bog witch added new skills and one of them is the farming skill, it provides a certain chance of getting additional crop when farming (it also works for mushrooms, berries, etc... 🙂 )
If you want more info go to the wiki page rianu linked 😄
i will
Imagine if below 20 skill, it was a burnt red -1 for failing to farm 😁
That would be awful...
😈
To counter balance, every time you got a -1 it counted for double xp, helping you level faster.
Nah, current state is great
sad no lfg channel 😭
OH
You may have to look in id:customize first to get the right permissions for it, though.
Is Justin Case some celebrity?
Just in case
Nah, it's a character from a 1990's movie, iirc.
Just jesting a bit 🤭
So was the script writer of that movie.
Ah so he was real person lol.
I think the lines were something like: "I'm Justin Case, PI."
"Justin Case? You're kidding me?"
"Nah, my father thought it was funny..........
I don't."
There. Now we need something like that in Valheim.
its kinda hilarious how broken surtling spawners are. passively fill chests with cores while u farm crypts
also free coal for the iron
Heh, did you ever make farm in ashlands placeholder? 😄 That was lots of cores
naah i didnt play the game then
Only surtlings were spawning there, it was a bit hilly but empty so you saw for miles and could just hunt surtlings all day. 😄 I once found a bit of land that was just barely above water and made a slightly underwater platform from it, worked resonably well but since it didnt have spawner like the geysirs have it was probably still faster to manualy hunt them 🙂
ah lol
Has anyone tested if molten cores can be used as fireworks like surtling cores and black cores
Nope, i can go try it tho
No you cant 😦 (btw i didnt know you can use the black cores 😄 nice)
Using Black cores as fireworks was added later after Mistlands.
Well i never had lots of them so i never tried it 😄
starting valheim gossip clip. 2 ads. jumping to where something seems to happen. same 2 ads. fuck off
What?
just another youtube ad complaint
Another? I dont remember really any 🤔
you say that like he doesnt have a point. he does, they are rly annoying
he has a point but we can't change it
I dont think he is ShyGuy is saying they are not, but this is simply not the place to vent about them
that too
YT has ads?
if you don't use a good ad blocker, yes
Lets take it to general if we REALLY want to talk about this... 😅
Sounds like a bad ad blocker skill issue and not a Valheim issue 😏😉
right
maybe u could suggest an adblocker to him
Hunt or tame boars, but if that is exactly "fast"... Thats up to debate 😄
how do i tame them? and do i need to make an area for them
You only have to drop food they will eat on the ground 🙂 they will take 30 minutes of uninterupted taming to get tamed and yes it will be good to make and area for them
do they come with me after i tame them? like follow?
And how will taming get me leather scraps? i didnt get that
You can get them angry a you so they will chase
Time to find boars
you tame them -> breed them -> kill them -> get leather scraps and meat from them
and 1 last, Can i fight with Eikthyr first boss with leather helmet tunic Trousers. A Wood Shield, A Bow. like 40 flint arrow, 20 default, and 40 Fire arrows?
If you want to get leather scraps fast then it will be better to just hunt them tho
Oh for sure
would wood/stone/iron be considered the 3 most important mats in the game?
I know this might be way to early to ask but is there a expected month that the deep north update will release
im thinking because they are in so many recipes
Nope
Ait
Maybe? But does it matter?
i think Asatru meant that what difference does that make if they are the most important thing in nthe game
difference to what
To ur playing ig
Does it matter if they are considered the most important? Either they are or they are not, doesent make any diference.
oh idk prolly just id farm those mats a lot
lots of leather scraps from crypts too
i dont think i can beat them yet. can i?
For stone at least it depends if you are building/teraforming a lot, wood is always good to have and iron you will generally need quite a bit of but your consumption of it will also skyrocket if you are building large builds
No they are in 3rd biome
if u have troll gear ya sure
im leather tunic
Oh should i make a spear?
ya
Or fight with an flintsteel axe :D
ah ok you're way too early in the game for crypts
Youre gonna do that anyway
ya
gl, use dodge roll a lot
okay ty
conserve ur stamina
As you are a beginner i would suggest swords, clubs and/or axes as weapons, that with round shields is probably the most "newbie" friendly playstyle
do i attack it with a bow or my axe btW?
Both if you want 😄
and why is there a red mark on the Eithyr symboll???????????
Did you click on it?
oh yep
Try clicking again 🙂
k (pls act like that never happened)
Nah no worries 😄 similar stuff happened to all of us at some point in playing
btw i want leather scraps to make Tanning rack is it needed rn?
just to upgrade ur items
Oh for sure, upgrades to the statioons are really important
like for more dmg on ur weapon
And unlocking new stuff later which you will not get without proper station lvl...
Wish me luck im summoning it
GL!
Nvm im waiting for my health to regen 😭
i think this opened me a power idk what it gave but its a power. i used to play valheim
Be sure to get rested buff too!
oh i have 5 minutes of that
Jus pop down a campfire and press X to sit to get a bit more 😄
Nice 😄
its probably from rested
but i regenerated A LOT. like the moment i get hit i get back to full
Not the worst power but i think its good like -%60 stamina usage from jump and run
it does give you
Health regen +50%
Stamina regen +100%
XP gain +50%
and also
||Eitr regen +100%|| <-- becomes relevant after you get to 6th biome
is there an easy way to find boars 😭
Just run around in meadows 🙂
They spawn randomly and sometimes in groups around certain runestones.
You can breed 2 star boars 😄
How come we can't use scythe on magecaps n yotun puffs 😭
Dont know, but it is unintentional i believe
Ah so a bug for now
I tried using it on a group of cloudberries too but didn't work, shame
They are quite rare so I wouldn't use my energy to find one if I was a new player.
Just roaming around and killing them on sight should give enough scraps and meat.
Yeah, berries are not harvestable with it
goated power. i use it throughout the entire game
Of course, if you stumble upon a starred boar you might want to mark it on map and get it later if you want to tame one.
I'd start to tame after I have chosen a location for base.
Always base near/on the coast 💯
oh k 1 sec
And near (not right next to) a border of Black forest
Pretty much perfect place for the base imo 🙂
well my base is like near the water
Yippee
Good is a point of view, Anakin.
Also, dont foget to make what the antlers unlocked 🙂 it will help greatly with teraforming and building in general
Ye thats right
PİCKAXEEEEEE? OMG I WANTED THE UPGRADE FOR PICKAXEEEEEEEEE
Now you have it 😄
YİPEE
It's very useful for progressing the next biome 👍
Which axe do I need to break mistland's trees?
blackmetal one
Also how can I use magic?
tyy
eat food that gives eitr
You need to explore mistlands dungeons and find stuff there, also materials from mistlands that can be found in POIs
yeah I have been eating the foods but what weapons do I need to spell magic? (Or something like that)
What makes you think they have eitr food ans staves when they did not chop down a single mistlands tree...
he ask i answer
Just explore mistlands and you will figure it out eventualy 🙂
okey :)
Are you in the Mistlands?
Discord loading slow moment...
Happens 😄
It never happened on MSN chat 😭
Or Mumble.
Or TeamSpeak.
Or Ventrillo.
😏
I am old. 😭
You're only old if you were there when Keith Richards was telling Odin he can be the All-Father.
I was there Thorin.
I was there 3,000 years ago...
I was there the day the strength of Keith failed.
Do i have to break the battering ram to bring it to a next fortress?
no but u should
Does anyone know why my Ashvines isnt growing?
#screenshots message
MSN Messenger... Oh those times. 🥲
Both
It stoped expanding after a while, I did collect a few berries tho. but it was a long time ago
think it stops expanding after a certain point. ive put vines on walls and they dont really expand much more than what u have. also berries take forever to grow for some reason
Thats might be it. I only had a single seed. Hope to get more after
ya u have to plant a lot, tbh u just have to roam and pick em in ashlands. like w other mats
maybe they grow faster in ashlands? idk
God damn neck bastard ate half my carrots
There was a 2star boar right in the draugr village I turned into main base 😄
get the club.
He’s gonna make a nice mince meat soup
(and a fence. stakewall even.)
I’m fencing my farm up now yeah lol
Can’t have shit in valheim
Ironically I caught the fucker while going out to hunt some more necks too
i may have found 2 silver veins in the same location
damn, really?
Most i found is 3 basically touching each other and 4th few meters away 😄
Does the planted Ashvines drops seeds?
Or I can only collect them in the Ashlands?
idk
They can drop seeds, yeah
u guys think i could train clubs on bonemass? just do like the speedrunner and build just outside of his attack range but also so u can hit his hitbox
that'd be so much more enjoyable than killing greydwarves
lvl 1 wooden clubs will train really well against him.
The best way to grind weapon skill is to just progress normally while using that weapon type
lmao blobi aight thanks...
Best is subjective.
Fastest is Bonemass.
ya ima try it after trained bows on him
Actually... does he resist Fire?
He equally resists fire and pierce
If yes, skip the Wooden Club and build a fuckton of Torches.
Better training.
Less damage per hit = better.
You'll get more hits before he dies
oh i didnt even consider that lvl 1 club would kill him
They will just break really fast, so build a lot of them.
i guess ill do clubs anyway, i have mats to summon him at least 4 more times i think
do you guys play with or without mods?
Ew.
without
Yeah, RNG sometimes being like that. 🤭
but i dont have that much time playd in valheim, i can see myself using mods on later runs
Don’t have to kill him- when he gets low on HP just give him time to regen
true
Vanilla 👍
does boss ever despawn?
nope
Only on death.
Nope
lul
I dont like modding games. The one exception was with morrowind when I used an "unofficial" patch that fixed so many nagging issues
Valheim is the only game that really doesn’t need mods, such a good game, you can do so much, wide variety, Idk why add mods
Let's say I'm not against modding a game unless it's not supported by developers. Like how Larian added mod support to BG3.
And also some mods can cause unexpected issues in Valheim especially after content patches have been added to the game, so I gladly play vanilla as the game has more than enough content for me.
I can see someone/I starting to use it after beating the game a BUNCH
Exactly! More than enough content
there are some nice mods that for example show how long until mead is finished
Also how Bog Witch patch added even more content that made new run much more enjoyable after I found the Witch. 😁
I can understand if those mods are to smooth over some of the games more annoying features, like lack of half roof building pieces.
Sure, you can clip... but it looks hella ugly on any of the non-thatch roofs
how's about it's a single player game and people can do what they want when it comes to mods
nope sry
unluckers
xD
I don't mind mods but i usually only use them once i get bored of the vanilla game.
Suffice to say it hasn't happened yet.
Also with the current frequency of patches mods would be a major pain so i'll do without for now.
the only mod I've been seriously interested in is plant everything
foraging is nice & all but I wanna have a berry garden damn it
why is there a 30 minute timer for sending ss
People were having conversations in that channel, so they put a timer
Correction, wiki has his pic with red beard but in-game he has white beard 😄
ngl, I wish the sledgehammers had some actual combos, with the ground slam being the power attack
sucks that 2h axes and 2h swords get combos and power attacks
and atgeirs
The current primary attack should stay as the primary attack. Secondary can be even more powerful
Secondary could be more powerfull directional wave maybe?
me when I break my arms instantly by using the new more powerful power slam
that'd be interesting, but tbh my problem with the slam attack in general is it leaves very little room for making choices in combat, it's either do big slam or wait to do big slam
my playthrough has been interesting so far on hard, been using heavy armor with bows for the most part, with either the stagbreaker or 1h + shield as my backup
was using fire arrows for most stuff but I ran out of resin & feathers so now I'm just using wood arrows lmao
yeah, been messing with archery as my main playstyle ever since discovering that
hit about 35ish recently and the difference is massive already
dying his beard to confuse us!
I bet Hildir dyed it for him XD
I have ashvine growing on my building in the meadows, its healthy and yesterday it had some vineberries on it, today when i logged in and went to collect they had disappeared, why?
Do you have refined eitr?
Look into artisan table then and make mechanical spring
Thanks!

yup, 4 upgrades in total, vice, cooler, metal & gem cutters
the latter two are unlocked in the ashlands
Got it! Thanks
nothing quite like the swamp stage of gameplay, sailing around boats full of iron across the entire world
why is moder spawn always surrounded by mistlands or plains 😢
how do yall farm feathers early game? kind of a pain in the ass to just shoot every bird I see
i simply don't farm feathers early game -- you don't need feathers in the early game anyway
As said above, i get enough arrows from chests everywhere
I was thinking about that tbh, just raiding a bunch of burial chambers
If you're strong enough to fight moder, you'll be able to go through plains
not mistlands tho
Imo the meadow and BF structures with chests are the way to go since they provide arrrows AND feathers
i usually get plenty of feathers from chests and chopping trees. Though i also stick to wooden arrows until i get obsidian and just stockpile until then.
one skill I've been getting good at with my legolas playstyle is knowing when to charge a shot and when to not
one of my favorite things to do now is shoot a fully charged shot out to stagger something, then do a quick follow up shot after to take advantage of the stagger dmg
Honestly I got like 3-4 stacks from just finding them in chests and shit and I’ve still not needed them
You only really need to craft arrows mountains and beyond for frost arrows
I currently have around 6 stacks from just exploring xD
is it possible to sleep during the day
You can sleep from noon
really hard to decide what ashlands weapons to get ... i will have to clear out a lot more fortresses to get more gems to try them all out 😄
Lightning dial axes 😌
Iolite axes are very popular
good way to speed up smelting
I have the iolite splitnir and the iolite mace and the jade axes now need to find me more gems first... made dundr too to try it out seemd a bit underwhelming on a lox ... 😄
dundr is really good, with like 3 asterisks
Dundr is incredibly strong against morgens
^^
Its a close range magic weapon too
I shall try that out... those morgens have my pants in twists all the time damn buggers 😄
dundr is really good if:
you're point blank
you're a dedicated mage
the enemy is lightning weak or stunned
Remember that the staff of protection's shield allows you to parry any blockable attack
I collected like 15 asksvine eggs from my breeding pair but have not yet gotten around to make a hatching pen... my gosh those spawn rates 😄
yep, bubble parry into dundr is a fun combo
also remember that wet = weak to lightning
Looking at what I've built and considering how much bronze I'm gonna need to light this place with lanterns
Wondering if I've made an error haha
What’s ur estimate
use dvergr circlets on item stands instead. You don't need a lot of them since they reach a lot further.
I have no estimate. I don't even want to think about it lol
I'm saving my gold for feast producing too right now
alternatively you can take the lanterns from dvergr towers in the mistlands without aggroing them even with the ward still up. 2-3 per tower are pretty common, i've seen up to 5.
I guess there's plenty of towers I never planned to build around due to the location being poor
Could always commit some friendly neighbourhood genocide
Also, I've got 2 refined eitr hiding inside the building blocks within one of those towers I took over
It's really annoying me that i can see they're trying to damage the black marble blocks but I can't get at them. There's at least 2
i mean... they drop soft tissue and are easier to find than giant skulls, so why not?
god i love this game
I wish I never played it so I can play it again 😄
I don't think I'm likely to need anymore soft tissue tbh
i bought it yesterday and im
playing without watching guides and stuff, its so good
Best way to do it.
Not this run-through, in building whag I am right now partly for fun but also partly judt to get rid of the excessive storage space taken up by materials (ahem, Grausten, Stone)
first encounter with a troll didnt go so well tho💀
Nice trolls are a hard enemy in the beginning
Those are great, I also like Primal axes (they look elegant!) 👌
if you always listen and run from enemies you should be able to make it trough
i find going trough mistlands to moder safer than plains
As long as you have a root harnesk and avoid tar pits and fuling villages you shouldn't have any issue crossing the plains even in swamp gear.
Mistlands depends entirely on what kind of terrain you have to cross and what exactly spawns there.
how do I place the eggs from the trader?
or get them to a state where they can hatch
drag & drop from inventory. Near a fire if you want them to hatch.
Drop eggs one at a time tho. Stacks will not hatch.
nope, only the siege equipment can break them iirc
I see some white dmg when i mine the walls with a pick, i, it the spikes?
probably, the spikes aren't considered the same as the actual fortress itself
Okay good to know
good thing i didnt keep trying to pickaxe them open then
well, found haldor and hildir finally, just need the witch
I am currently in the exact same situation xD
Huh, we are also looking for the witch in our playthrough 👀
We are all synced xD
let me guess, everyone just beat elder?
Wouldn’t say just beat him, but it wasn’t too long ago haha
Nah, i am lust lazing around 😄 going slowly through swamp and spending some time at my base doing stuff. But yeah, it was just maybe a week or two in game days since i beat him
Either that or playing at a pre-Bog Witch map
rn I'm just starting to mix between late-BF early Swamp gear
Me and my close friend are doing a playthrough together, and he hasn’t played since mistalnds- so I’m trying to let him discover the witch lol
still in bronze armor but I got the huntsman's bow
Oh i still have my troll armor and bronze stuff 😄
Root armor and battleaxe for me!
It seems some mobs (lava blobs?) can break it too. Also I think the pickaxe is able to damage the wall
I mean, we can get into semantics on that but there's not much point, you either use siege equipment or you waste your time
just found a crypt directly next to the ocean those are my favorite kind
the free-est of free iron
True, if the intent of the question was to find out how to enter a fortress, that's the right answer.
I was asking this question once, because I found a broken section in the wall of my fortress base and was wondering how that happened. In that context, other damage sources are relevant information.
well, witch finally found
Have you tried https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510 yet?
I Will look into that , thank you
the most difficult crossroads for me to choose in this game has finally come
continue expanding my dinky wooden house in the meadows, or go and make a new base
meow
i find myself making bases every where haha, although i do enjoy having one big one some where in the meadows
i do the same lol
I get way too invested in bases once I go past the "shitty box with a triangle on top" design
usually a main base then spawn points all over place
so if I put in any effort to an outpost I'll be there for a week
well tiny bases lol
no such thing for me, either it's a shitshack or a gorgeous fortress
lmao
i have one personal world where i just build different places to get my build fix
that's basically what my endgame world is now
main base where all my shit is then the small random ones
Its been too many hours, I lost the capacity to make a bunch of grand bases, I just like cottages.
my endgame world got erased, i had a server.. let it run out and forgot to back it up
F
I have two sides in valheim:
fuck it we ball (running blind into death)
stardew valley with vikings
biiiiiig F
i just started a new game alone this time. and i forgot how long it takes to get to the mistlands lol
it's such a long journey and it ends so fast once you beat mistlands
atleast the ashlands is there now, it wasnt when i finished the mistlands last time
true
I hope we get some opportunities to use magic before mistlands tbh, kinda sucks that by the time you even unlock the mage playstyle the game is almost over
Mistlands, Ashlands, Deep North, that's nearly half the game.
im excited to see what the deep north has in store
i absolutely hated the mistlands lol
I hope Deep North has a lot, but I'm afraid it's gonna be like an epilogue after Ashlands
It's going to be another whole biome, so I don't see why it would be an 'epilogue'.
i think what they are reffering to is that its probably the last biome were going to get (hoping not the case)
mainly since it was stated there are only seven Forsaken in the lore iirc
Of course it's the last biome we're going to get.
youre breaking my heart derek
Why? We've known that for over 3 years.
ocean rework will be wild though
i know i know, im just holding out hope
"Seven were the creatures banished to this world by mighty Odin in the first days of his kingship." - Black Forest Runestone
Yeah, weird how the game has changed as it's been developed.
We also only had 6 sacrificial stones at one point.
do you guys think ashlands is to hard or balanced because ive been dying for 3 hours trying to get my stuff
It's balanced to be pretty hard.
i cant do this anymore
i feel for you pal
depends on how well you prepared, if you died without a portal then yeah you're kinda fucked
No shame in lowering difficulty to get your stuff. Single player game. Have fun
no portal, no bueno
yep, knocked my death penalty down from very easy to casual once I hit mistlands, retrieving my gear butt ass naked just started to get way too irritating and I didn't want to hoard backup armors
I rage quit and restored world and character from a 4 hour old backup on my first failed Ashland landing. I stupidly got my boat sunk on the water and died. Second time was the charm.
yep, sometimes you make a stupid mistake and the punishment ends up being too harsh, atp it's your choice if you want to deal with it or not
why dont we have ak47s in the game? we have magic and metallic springs and sap extractors and more high tech stuff
kinda plothole
not an ak, but dundr is basically a 12 gauge
I’m watching a YouTube video of a group of four players trying to get to the ashlands without beating the queen. They all just died in the water and now they’re getting raided at their base entertaining stuff.
Well, that's really on them.
like we have portals but not glocks ok
Oh certainly. I think they know they are skipping content. There’s no commentary so I don’t know if they’re raging or not. It’s fun to watch.
nah they arent skippping, they still have time to add glocks into the game as a dlc
("dev commands -> fly")
that works if you have it set up right to start lol
people pronounce hearth the same way they do earth and it feels wrong
because it is
Örth and Hörth? 🤔
<-- swedish pronounciation
Considering about 80-90% of the world is not a native English speaker, I don't think it's something to worry about.
99% of the worlds population won't be able to pronounce the Dutch words for hearth right and it doesn't bother me at all.
I don't think i pronounce a single thing purposefully faithful to anything that isn't of american dialect 🥴 except for meginjord which seems more obvious.
ha-arth
I've never heard anyone do that.
i am learning from that, and apparently this chat too, that its popular to do 😬
yk, the stardew valley soundtrack is so comedically unfitting when playing this game that I think I'm just gonna listen to that and nothing else now
bruh
just got backed into a tree by two draugr and couldn't do anythign about it because they got me stuck in there
yk, new cloak effect idea for deep north: a buff that lets you ignore enemy hitboxes when moving
You can already just jump over most enemies.
like phasing in path of exile?
yep, exactly what I was thinking of actually lmao
man...
i swear to god when i first got near the bog witch in a world with friends i saw something attacking a sea serpent in the water and it looked like tentacles, i thought nothing of it i thought it was the witch doing it or something but ever since then i have heard or seen nothing of such an occurance 😭
some long dead mage probably drowned there and was using the root staff to fuck with you lol
i don't think my friends should have had any mods...even if i suspected that i don't believe any of them know how to set them up, so either this is some herobrine easter egg shit or i am going schizo
Could it have been some leeches?
do they fight serpents
Everything does except bosses, serpents are the only creatures with the ocean faction
got fucking swarmed by leeches then lol
it's a good idea to max the black metal sword?
There's no need to max any weapon or armour but it certainly won't hurt if you have the resources.
no reason not to, solid weapon and you'll get plenty of black metal
just keep in mind that it won't be that good against yagluth, silver sword would be the best option for that
why dont mobs have fall dmg? if i yeet a wolf off a mountain, it should die
here a better question, WHY MOBS DON"T DRAWN? WHY SILME DOESN"T GET DMG FROM OCEAN
lmao ya
im scared
why do charred mobs take fire dmg but no dmg from walking in lava
early access valheim
should be tbh, most reliable dmg types for yagluth seem to be cold & spirit
SOON BROTHER SOON WE WILL HAVE AN ELITE GAME
What does that have to do with anything?
And let's lay off the caps, eh?
Oh still under development don't look too close to details as it'll be fixed with time
Fixed implies it's broken.
Noo
Wait let me rephrase,
details will be implied to valheim to be a total complete game
I think the actual answer is a lot simpler, ashlands enemies dying in lava would make it too easy to escape them, but making them immune to fire would basically fuck over two of the best mage weapons, plus dyrnwyn as well
Valheim can be a complete game without changing things that are not broken 😕
😔 meow
derek u thnk the things we mentioned are fine? mobs falling hundreds of meters and taking 0 dmg from it
let's get back to yagluth
or the charred taking no dmg from lava, yet taking dmg from fire
Yes, of course.
alright
is it a coward move to get a gear from mistland for an easier yagluth experience
If you can't beat yagluth you won't survive mistlands
dang, I just have bad experiences with fire bosses
you can cheese it if you want
cheese?
ya like use a cheap trick to kill it with 0 difficulty
honestly, not true imo, if you know how to navigate the mist it's actually fairly easy to skip yagluth, the problem being that if you aren't familiar with the mistlands already it's nigh impossible to navigate
no cheating is for Ps
no cheating involved (no console stuff)
moder vs yagluth is not even a competition
imo, yagluth is easily the hardest boss when using on-level gear
his mechanics are not difficult
I have lost my fear
its kinda normal to skip black metal tools and go straight to mistlands tools
time to beat yagluth
use pillars
I just said yagluth is the hardest boss... how does that make you lose your fear?
Oh nvm I regained my fear,
-# i read it "yagluth is easier" not "yagluth is easily"
ah, yeah he's basically a more basic fader but without magic access, so he ends up being pretty difficult, he tends to attack very frequently and you can only facetank one of his attacks with the max level gear for the plains
iirc he has 3 moves: 1. smash 2. summon meteors 3. laser
you can hide behind pillar when he does 2 and 3. block the smash
he does fire and lightning dmg so bring fire pot
would not recommend blocking the smash, dodge roll is safer
ya or that
How are they gonna get familiar with the mistlands if they haven't beat yag?
idk if this is their first playthrough or what
good good tips
point being, it's not impossible or even super difficult to navigate the mistlands before yagluth, but it does take experience and if you've never been in the mistlands you're unlikely to have that experience
Wouldn't a hamer be more effective since it's a skeleton?
for weapons, if you're doing melee bring frostner or silver sword, if you're using a bow use silver or frost arrows
YEYE forstner
nope, he's neutral to blunt iirc so it doesn't do anything extra, spirit and frost are where it's at
Ohh the sqatous ones are bad?
Oh
frostner works good
what blunt level should I have
ok yeah, he's neutral to everything except fire, pierce, and poison, which he resists
idk 30s?
I have 56 blunt 60 sword
ya ur fine
you can go either way then, silver sword and frostner are very comparable for yagluth, they're pretty much just preference
W
Oh, doesn't sword have more dmg
in terms of spirit and slash
yeah, it has more spirit and phys dmg than frostner, but frostner has about the same total dmg when you add the blunt, spirit, and frost together
Ohh, also will yagluth remove the thicc mist in mistland
kind of
I can't see things
won't spoil it for you, but he will give you a way to remove the mist temporarily
ohh yeee
btw do not underestimate the lightning dmg, since it's the only elemental dmg type that does contribute to stagger, so yagluth can stagger you really fast with that and his phys dmg combined
all this talk about yagluth has gotten his boss music stuck in my head
Ohh, so
- bring fire pots
- use Frostner or silver sword
- never berry smacks
- coward behind the rocks when he does most of his attacks
yep, pretty much, the fist slam is your best opening to attack
eh, if you really wanted to block his attacks it'd be a good choice, but there's not much reason not to dodge
it's for the "it'll hit me" situations
actually wait, i never make a tower sheiled does it make you struggle to move?
yes
massive move speed penalty while it's out, you're basically forced to be tanking while it's equipped
that's why I recommend just using dodge rolls, if you really need a shield a regular one should suffice
One thing that’s often overlooked for tower shields is the significantly higher block force (knockback) which can split groups or create space to drink a potion or do whatever
tower shields are designed for standing your ground, regular shields are balanced for a lot of situations
