@rotund parrot i imagine that too--it's the most narrowly specific requirement for where to find it, like all other fish you basically can find spawning anywhere in the biome in question where there's deep enough water, just a little RNG to find them, whereas the tetra you have to specifically find a frost cave with the lake which I think isn't the most common feature, so first you have to find the caves on the mountains, then since there's no way (at least I know of, in game--i.e. without using a seed viewer) to know which caves specifically will have it, you just have to explore cave by cave until you just finally hit one with a lake

i wonder if it's hypothetically possible, and if so how likely how likely, for a seed to generate without any of the required lake caves

First you get close to your body, second have food/rested buff, third, run up to body, dodging and push E on corpse, then you can loot your stuff, then run for your life and pray 🙂

With food on, you can just kill skeletons with fists

There's a very easily exploitable bug with the new cooking level. Whenever you put food in an oven you get EXP, but it doesn't check to see if you're actually placing anything. So if you hold E on a full oven you get infinite EXP.

most of the time, even if you roll those 20%, it'll fail because almost all raids also require you to be within 40 meters of 3+ player base structures or else they just won't happen.
but the wolf hunt doesn't have this base requirement, it can happen anywhere if you're in plains or a mountain in a post-bonemass world. so it's bound to be a lot more common because if you roll those 20% while in those biomes, it's always gonna be a raid, and that raid is always gonna be the wolf hunt unless you're in a base. (but even then it could still be the wolf hunt, just at a low chance)

(the chance for a raid attempt, the attempt interval and the chance for each raid are all the same for each raid and haven't been changed, it's just that the wolf hunt's unique conditions make it very common in practice)

I do not know about mods, but you could lodge in one of the meadows ruined houses... just repair the roof and you are all set (that is what i do always, a lot less hassel)

I have been realizing that while weapon upgrades give decent damage at early games, later ones feel much more meaningless...

Ripper hits for 220 at base level, and each upgrade improves it by... Three.

Meaning it would be 226 at third level and at max it will be 229.

Enemies in ashlands have hundreds hp, 6-9 more damage is nothing

Maybe percentage-based damage increases don't sound so bad now...

I usually build an escape portal out of the way behind a big boulder or something... because if it is away a bit it is more likely to not take damage...also i usually have two portals around on either side just to be extra sure. Prepared ness is key in this game

Sailing and portals are enough for early game and black forest, swamp and mountains are full of trees, water and cliffs to get in your way. Plains is the perfect biome to introduce mounts, because there’s no obstructions and it helps for finding yagluth’s rare vegvisir.

And even than, Yagluths fingers are so large, you often find one of his 5 alters Since there are 5 Yagluth alters in each world first before finding his Vegvisir.

Just sailing around plains biomes will almost always find it. I've personally always had my Yagluth alters on a coastline

You aren’t exactly supposed to run into damage with heavy armor, it’s just more forgiving with mistakes.

No they don't. Everyone takes fire resist before taking on Yagluth, and it's also pretty crucial in Mistlands when you're floating around in a Feather Cape and come across a Gjall.

welll that's assuming they only hit you once.
one piece of growth spit hits you for 45 blunt and 50 poison.
if two hit you consecutively, the first is gonna deal like 45 blunt, then get about like 4 or so poison damage on you before the second hit cancels out the previous one's poison for the intended 45 blunt + 50 poison

Unless you just stand in their spit I guess it won't change much, take the tip or not, it help and it's easy to carry poison resist in the plain as there's not much different material to gather there

I start to see why many people complain about not enough slots... if they schlepp around an arsenal of mead and an arsenal of weapons and a pocket portal and maybe a stonecutter... yeah sure... the only times i do schlepp specific mead is when i go for boss fights or if i am particularly afraid and cautious but then it will be health and probably one specific mead.

Make sure you don't carry fire resist because the gjalls do mostly fire only if you get hit once, otherwise it's mostly blunt because the fire doesn't stack, so don't clog up your inventory and dodge instead!

It's not much effort if you just let them tame while you build your base, that's what I do with boars, I trap a couple before I start building and they will just tame while I build. I do the same with lox, I drop berries around a group of 3 and let them all tame while I build my late game base

Gives you meat very easily, protection in the case of loxes for an insignificant amount of effort and no time at all

When done correctly taming/breeding boars you are trading 1 berrie/mushroom/vegetable for 1 boar meat for 0 stars, 2 meat for 1 stars and 4 meat for 2 stars.

there is a one time spawn point around one type of runestone, it will apear with multiple boars around it, if you kill them then they will not respawn in the same numbers as you found them, but they can still spawn anywhere in meadows 🙂

I've learned some very good lessons for next playthrough on base building:
#1 don't build around the central sacrifical stones, just put a portal nearby--i'm like 99% sure there's a spot dead square in the middle (or nearish) of the platform that allows spawns, and it's far enough that the 'mystical field' preventing building doesn't let you reach it entirely with campfire/workbenches spread out around the perimeter as close as you can get, such that if you do have this in your base you can never perfectly spawnproof; at least, this is my working theory as the best explanation for why despite carpeting every square inch of base I still get occasional spawns (or the drops, after the tame herd has disposed of them) right around that spot
#2 don't have tames IN your base itself, except maybe chickens (and then, there's no useful/practical reason to have them outside a coup/breeder), just have an outpost dedicated for the tames that you portal to and for, and for any intended as 'guards' or 'mounts', build a separate 'stables' outside the main base--it's just not worth trying to protect them, OR protect your base FROM them (lox, mostly, but somewhat any of their attacks can cause collateral damage)

That's why you play the PTB, the spikes were much worst back then, after experiencing that level of frustration to get that massive boat through, you just become immune against them

what isn't great though is the mist in the mistlands, are there any non mod, vanilla, ways to deal with the mist? other than the sword and the equipped wisp? (both are too slow to clear the mist and sometimes i found myself to be overwhelmed by a surprise fleet of starred seekers)

For more permanent location there's the wisp torchs you can place, the surprise fleet of seekers is always welcomed because that means they are guarding something essential
