Like all biomes, avoiding nights especially at first should help you a lot, always being rested, not piling up a ton of enemy and then trying to take them all on, either take them out one at a time as they come to you or just run away from them

It's good, I think avoiding deaths biggest benefit is you do not waste time and food recovering your corpse and also higher skills will always make everything more efficient since you use less stamina

Ohh those are good. I recommend trying out Mace, especially Klossen. Hit the Warrior few times with its primary and/or secondary attacks, keeping your distance and once the roots hit go behind and finish with Axes.

Here's my 2 cents, askvins breed extremely fast and have a high limit, so 1 stars will easily get you enough meat. 1 star are still amazing fighters and make for really good defenses. When using them as mount, what is valuable is the saddle so I recommend as soon as you hop off, take the saddle otherwise you are likely to lose both.

copper deposit is 138 nodes, 33% copper, 66% stone.

getting extra iron is always nice, so mistlands is probably better

Serpents are spawned based off of the world chunk grid, where whenever you sail into a new ocean chunk at night or during a storm, the game rolls a random chance to spawn a serpent. The trick is to sail diagonally to cross the most chunk borders as possible

It definitely raises spawn rates but it can still be unreliable

I like to build with core wood rustic style 😄 but you are right many things go out of fashion after you are in the next biome

in addition to what thethirdarchon said: make sure not to set sail too long before night or in sunny daytime - the chunks you sail through will attempt their spawns, fail because conditions aren't met and then be on cooldown for 16 minutes, nighttime is only 9 minutes long

I remember a friend and I got into a battle with two morgens, a pack of asksvin, and an endless army of charred. We were really struggling, until an actually like battalion of dvergr showed up and turned the tides like the fricken riders of Rohan. After the battle was finished, all of the dvergr proceeded to walk directly into a pit of lava one after another, in single file, and die.

It was the same for me when I was hunting trolls. The moment I gave up and started looking for carrot seeds I encountered 3 trolls in one supply run

Look for tree stumps that seem to "drop water" from it.
The moment you see one of those, put a fire arrow in it.
If it's an abom, it'll wake up and you can deal with it.

For leeches, just hold your mouse pointer over the water the moment you see some small waves / circles in the water.
If there is a leech, it'll show you, as well what quality it has.
And depending at your bow tier as well as your archery level, shooting it once or twice would be enough to deal with it.

Might use a 2-handed weapon to kill it while still standing on dry land as well.

Why is the Bronze Age grind sooooo long compared to every other age? I swear- the time it takes me to have full silver armor and a Frostner in the mountains, the same amount of time passes in the bronze age and I barely have a damned pickaxe and a helmet

You come to appreciate the slow drive the bronze age gives. Letting you lay the foundation of your first base always feels enjoyably slow. The first port, storage room, bedroom, crafting area it's such an enjoyable thing, don't sleep on the bronze age

Yeah it is not updated for current PTB version, will surely be updated after it goes live.

To add, the world gen will show only the fresh world spawn points, if your world is created in older version it will differ from what World gen shows.

What I mean is when you update an old world to a new content patch it will generate all unexplored areas again and may switch locations of POIs like boss altars, NPC spawn points, dungeons etc.

For example, if you had revealed a boss altar before patch but hadn't visited it, when new content patch is downloaded and world updated the location of said boss altar may move to other location. Visiting the same Vegvisir will give you a new location.

If you create a new world after the patch it will generate all locations how they are shown in World gen.

I had to use my backups during the Ashlands PTB once (i bricked my world by throwing the fire-immune drakkar into lava) but aside from that i've never had to use them. And i always play the PTB's.
So you should be fine if you just make a backup before switching to PTB.

I have never encountered any problems that I would have needed to use backups (althought you can never be too sure so backups are highly recommendable). Don't use mods if you go to PTB branch because they will break something in game.

Depends at what you want to do.

If you don't like to go out and mine 2-3 copper nodes to get enough copper for the bronze items, it is. Even 3x resources may be.

But if you want this game to be challenging when it comes to harvesting resources, using the 1.5x would not be ethical.

So it's up to you whether it is or not. But given the devs put the modifier(s) in there, using any of the settings is allowed.
Otherwise they wouldn't have put them in the game in the first place. 😉

For me the only appeal to 1.5x is to greatly speed up how quickly you can use the crops you farm. But this won't be as much of an issue anymore. Other than that I think it just cuts down on any gathering and exploration too much and you end up with excesses
