we recently (mid-mistlands) switched to 1.5x and portaling ores. halfway through mountains i was over hauling, and did some world-hopping to save some hours of sailing (this was before the world modifiers in main menu)

since no mistlands touch meadows, ithink the stone portal should have been maybe a plains/ml thing...

ah. well, they seem useful but are more situational, like elder. i feel eikthyr is a solid go-to all the way through mountains, but stuff starts hitting pretty hard in plains so ive ended up with mostly bonemass ig since plains/mistlands

moder is tailwind. useful if you're doing a hauling session or exploring, but once i get out of the boat i want eikthyr or bonemass usually

yes up to 5 people they do more damage and have more HP, the 6th person and so forth does not make it any harder though as 5 is the max

If you see it climbing higher than the obsidian then it probably has silver. I have had good luck finding them near the dragon eggs but have confirmed they are not guaranteed there

Also abomination in my server seems to be bugged, they barely attack. It has more HP than a troll but are way less dangerous for some reason, they keep fleeing too

Only fire you'll see in the swamp is a surtling nest and you can just avoid them if needed. Sounds to me like your next goal is the fenris armor in the mountains if you like fast light armors. But most people like more defense than troll armor before tackling the mountains. Youre welcome to try though.

personally i love fenris set. lovelovelove. any time I'm not doing something iffy, I'm zipping around in it. it's not for every task, but, i still use it (not in ashlands, but around base which is forest/plains, or to run my berry route, etc). and, you know, the whole fashion element is there too.

in burial chambers? it can be tricky to learn parry timing but that's best (headphones help, the attack sound is more obvious). you might be able to also get it at a door. close the door if your health is getting low, regen and go back.

As Jawbone said, go kill the Meadows boss. Just doing that will unlock access to a whole bunch of stuff that will help massively with the Black Forest. And, though you can skip some, generally you want to be fighting a biome’s boss before you move on into the next biome to any great degree.

Max level bronze mace may work, as it's close in damage to a lvl 1 iron mace. But if you're able to craft and upgrade an iron mace, do so.
