if by showing you mean sending picture here then i have to dissapoint you, you cant in this channel
royal jam and meat
ik
Just shoot him with fire arrows from a far and use pillars to hide from his projectiles and move from pillar to pillar depending where he spawns his roots
And build tons of campfires around where he spawns
ok will try
Elder was much easier for me than Eikthyr tbh 😅
☠️
The best HHS food choice is, Deer Stew, Mincemeat Sauce and Carrot Soup. If you're going SSH, then you'll want Queen's Jam, Deer Stew and Carrot Soup.
🥱
It might be boring, but it'll get the job done, which is all they want at this point.
Easiest way to kill him.. sadly too slow
I find whacking in melee far easier and also faster. Faster being part of what makes it easier 🤷♂️
Beat him to death with a Torch 😉 @jagged wind 😛
Gotta have full inv of torches then 😅
If he goes wa zoo, I go RUN and dodge!
They break very fast
I usually put fire at his feet when he spawns in and then go shoot him dead from behind the pillars...takes about 10 min or so ... 😄 and pretty save too
Which would mean you don't care if you lose it 😉
Sneak to corpse if you can, else draw him away from your corpse and run away.
Just 6 torches should be enough though.
Given the Club doesn't break and that's what I usually kill him with.
On my final playthrough I may just punch him to death.
10 mins is quite long.. but yea... considering that it took me over 20 mins to kill bonemass
You used a Bow for that too, didn't you?
No xD

Iron mace.. but i was too scared
I must not fear
Fear is the mind-killer
Fear is the little death that brings obliteration
I wonder how Sigma's getting on.
Phrasing
that is also quite long, in current playthrough i timed Yag and it was less than 10 minutes 🤔 (well "timed" i used bonemass like 2 minutes into the fight, just in case, and i killed him before it ran out) also i am not that great player by any means, i die quite often XD
Yag takes longer only because of the whole "run around to avoid meteors" parts of the fight.
where is a good base location in your opinion?
meadows
Plains if you want an efficient farm. Meadows for esthetics and low(er) threat level.
those ruined structures in the meadows prove to be super efficient starter bases. saves you a lot of wood and time.
Meadows near the ocean with a teeny tiny bit of Plains adjacent and Black Forest, Swamp and Mountain in running distance.
i always have my base in meadows, everywhere else i go and set up portals to
When meteors fall get smack dab in his face, his head blocks them.
Meh, I use that time for stamina regen.
Plains.
Me and my budy make a base in the meadows to start with and that will be converted into either the fancy base to show of stuff and have the best comfort we can or be storage space and auto breeders, depending on how much work has gone into the base already.
We then look for a plains island or a patch of plains that is either close or next to the sea and has a border with the mistlands, to set up a more permanent base with all the upgrades for everything and a decent sized farm to grow all the crops.
||Can askvins be bred?||
Yes.
Ok then mine are taking a while
I have a 2 star one
That was a difficult to do btw lol
yepp exactly that
not sure if it's better for blocking since it's a buckler, but it should be considerably better at parrying.
The carapace buckler has the same block armor as the black metal shield, but 66% more armor when parrying
They also have the same block force so the buckler does everything better than the shield
Yes.
But you're comparing Biome 6 Buckler vs. Biome 5 Shield.
So of course it is better.
What's weird is that it is better than the following Biome shield as well.
Like Bronze Buckler doesn't beat Banded (Iron) Shield.
But Carapace Buckler beats Flametal Shield.
(In terms of parry for both)
Not sure why that is a thing 🤷♂️
It’s only better for parrying so if you have a health diet you may want the flametal shield so you can block to use less stamina when you need to
Yes but why is it?
Shields scale by +18 per biome
Bucklers don't follow anything.
Bronze -> Iron is +12
But if you continue the +12, then Carapace should be 64 at rank 1, but it is instead 78.
Maybe because starred enemies are much stronger in later biomes, so the shields need to be better to block them?
Shields have a static scaler though.
Which actually makes them the anomaly, as neither Bucklers nor Tower Shields follow a pattern.
Brain hurt. make it make sense 😭
Look at it sideways, maybe it makes sense then.
there's quite a lot of inconsistent stat balancing
comparing silver weapons to their previous and subsequent biomes' equivalents gives me a headache and makes me wonder if they forgot how they decided the silver sword's stats when the time came to make a knife and battleaxe
there's quite a lot of inconsistent stat balancing
Pain 😭
As a designer who really gets into the weeds on making sure stats are what they should be, and just creates systems that handle that for me...
Pain 😦
yea the crystal battleaxe is only the best because there's literally no battleaxe after it, and the silver knife is just sad.
I wonder if either with Deep North or post-North there will be a balance pass?
Because that could be a perfectly reasonable thing. Many devs do the "we are planning to do that, just isn't priority atm." and they sweep the game later.
If Crystal didn't have such a long windup for the first attack, it would be one of the best weapons for landfall in the Ashlands tbh.
If you jump attack the long windup usually isn’t too bad
wild to me that the weapon type with higher base damage than the sword gets less spirit damage
It’s probably because the blade is mostly crystal, not silver
then i'd make up for that by giving it more slash damage than it should for its tier, but that's not the case
the silver sword and crystal battleaxe have the same stat total, even though the last is slower.
Oh if I could play with the stat pages you'd see some interesting, balanced results 🙂
All minor tweaks they can do in a final polish update.
in the case of the silver sword, that's a +89% damage upgrade over the iron sword vs undead, for the BA it's only +56.8% (and for the knife it's a pathetic +26.1%)
Very true. That's my suspicion overall tbh.
Everything as it stands is "good enough" and a single balance sweep across the numbers is better than multiple tiny ones.
So carapace buckler is better then bm shield
next to ashland?
Please add more words to that question.
lol, like next update to ashland? been curious
Do you mean what is the next update after Ashlands, now that we have Ashlands?
Or do you mean when is the stuff being testing on PTB for Ashlands coming to the live patch?
yes after ashland
Deep North is the last remaining biome.
oh zaym i see so dyrnwyn worth to get but it's hard tho xD
That makes no sense.
isn't it still almost entirely slash damage with a tiny bit of fire
Yes, the fire damage is just there to make the enemies burn when hit
pfffff, 10 fire damage at level 4 for a flaming sword
yeah, that really needs to be boosted
if the reason is to make it not undisputably the best sword for the deep north, then i get it, otherwise i'd up the fire percentage of its total damage.
ah yes, the struggle for stone after getting the stonecutter
No?
You should have assloads from mining copper.
And mining more copper is how you get assloads more.
yo anyone wanna play
well i already used that stone
but i need copper for a forge in my new base anyways so i guess i'll go mine more
Never ending cycle.
Also I had like.. 4 Iron Chests worth of stone just from copper mining. How do you burn through that much? 🤔
oh.
right i left the stone lying there because i wanted to use my inventory weight capacity for copper
now that makes sense
because of the workbench it should still be there so i just need to go get it
NOOOO don't remind me of my plutonium thing that still doesnt work
will valheim be less laggy once the full release comes? im not really that advanced into the game but it already has some fps drops, and i heard that in modded its even worse
Who can possibly answer that question accurately other than <insert whatever all-knowing deity you choose to believe in>??
im only asking because valheim would seem the type of game that'd have no lag since its graphics arent like some unreal engine 5 thing, it just doesnt fit valheim being a laggy game
well the textures are simple but the lighting is very in depth
yeah but thats not what i mean, its good looking, but games that are much larger than valheim have no lag at all for me, get what i mean?
yeah
the most lag comes when you build something huge and detailed using many building blocks
The only thing I can say is that this viewpoint shows you don't know that much about how games work. 🤷♂️
yeah i dont, but i do know enough to see that it doesnt make sense for a game like valheim have such lag spikes
Idk what you're talking about my game never lags
Are you sure your server is running properly it's not having connection issues?
maybe you are playing on too high settings for your device?
i am, and im playing solo
my pc is fine, thays why i say its strange
It is strange, since nobody else has unexpected lag
i can run any other game in the highest settings, so i believe it would also be the case for valheim, but once in a while i get fps drops
Strictly expected lag
idk then
cosmic rays then
Will there be a desert biome?
until 1.0 not, since Deep North is said to be the last biome
maybe after 1.0 they'll turn the lands when you fall off the world into a desert who knows
but probably never since deserts don't really fit into a viking/norse mythology setting
The thing is that i found queen spawn before ygluth spawn
Is very weird ,already got black forge too
Why am I not surprised 😂
umm what where can i buy this luck
Yagluth is such a hopeless case 🤣
Also i always lure seekes to dwarves towers and farm em
Fenrir set helps a lot to explore mist even as a blind man
Also that giant bombarding brain is good to attack dwarves towrs and get the extractor from chests
Fun thing u can get the marble from abandoned towers using a stonecutter
sometimes dvergr fire and frost mages are good at breaking the chests themselves as well when any seekers are around ^^
Even from dwarves towers if the totem is destroyed u can get their tower materials
I always steal their lanterns
once the ward is destroyed, yes
oh oops i maybe should learn to read
Ye but they are good as ally atm
But u can build around in their base so is like u have safe zones
ye i build my house connected to one of their towers once
2 star yellow mage for sure helped
Larger doesn't always mean harder on cpu / gpu / memory, ...
The more instances there are to calculate the harder the game will be on your computer even if it looks less good or is a smaller game.
We can only hope they do an optimization round before the game is completely finished.
U got urself a security team
Antartica is technically a desert, so Deep North might as well be.
Is there a way to renewably farm iron?
Oozers and fishing. Won't be fast though.
Mhmm interesting
It'll be a while before you run out of what's already in the world anyway.
i found some iron bars in the mountains but I wouldnt call that renewable
Is there any light source you don't have to renew/refill?
Several.
Dvergr Lanterns and naturally glowing things on item stands.
For sure, and it's probably on me but it feels there isn't many swamps in my world as I've explored so far. Obviously just my own exploration choices xD
(just keep in mind they're one of the few light sources that aren't player base structures, so replacing torches with dvergr lanterns may result in some unspawnproofed areas)
Oh God, that's true... (hops online)
Ahh, they are not player created? The Dvergr ones?
they are, they're just not "player base structures" (a group of structures that prevent enemy spawns and item despawns within 20 meters and enable most raids if you're within 40 meters of at least 3)
Ahh like that, it's just to light the inside of the base
ah yea, that likely is already covered by other ones, so it's probably fine
Like qualentin says renewable is only some mobs in the swamps and fishing there.
There is a bunch of iron to find in the mistlands once you get there though all the armors and sword and bridges the dvergr and other beings left there.
Yea we're using V+ to set the benches to double their area, we had like 20 benches just to cover base 😄
V+ seems like overkill for that.
i am not sure precisely how much upgrades increase bench radius, but with one or 2 upgrades you should be able to achieve the same result, the materials for it are not rare or anything
was it changed to also affect spawnproofing? i haven't tested it in a while, but when that was first added, it affected only the build radius, not player base coverage
Hey everyone. Im looking for friends to play a new world.
Im Mexincan, but I want to practice my English, and make new friends,
I someone its intereseted, send me dm, pls 🙂
oh, i am not sure actually 🤔 but when i was spawnproofing i did just see the edge of upgraded station and i took it as spawnproofed, didnt have any issues really
a lotta stuff spawnproofs, so it could be that other things covered that as well
i'm gonna test it right now
i was only using workbenches, i was trying to spawnproof around my base pretty far into the forest
tho it was proven to not be lasting solution since mobs spawned outside of the spawnproofed are were moving in and destroying the workbenches thus shrinking the area that was protected XD
it looks like it does extend spawnproofing.
wish i had a copy of the first build so i could retest it on that to know for sure if it was actually changed or if i just somehow tested it wrong the first time 😅 i remember complaining about it during PTB
welp, good to know 😄 (and i was for once not wrong about something XD)
how can i put dvergr lanterns on an item stand i tryed and it doesn t work
Dverger lanterns have a buildable that attaches directly to the wall or ground.
i gotta check how that works
It's a building that uses the item as an ingredient.
man
You don't need a stand.
oh
btw where do i smelt the copper scrap?
nvm it works at normal furnace
i thougt since is from the mistlands should be working at the furnace for black metal
sadly the blast furnace is only useable for black metal and the ashlands metal
But copper is copper.
So far.
hopefully in the future it will be usable for every metal
I doubt that will happen
hope dies last
are there 1 star and 2 star lox?
Yes.
Man they must be rare as heck
Nope there aren't unless mods are used.
only in the code sadly
This info is wrong. They aren't in the game.
Wait… I thought all mobs had a 10% chance of spawning as 1* and then a further 10% chance of upgrading to 2*?!
Not all mobs can be starred
they should add them but thats up to them if they want to do that
Which can’t?
Not all mobs can be starred.
No starred squitos nor loxes or serpents and maybe some others.
Lox, serpents, deathsquitos, any of the slimes iirc
Bah thanks for the info
An army of 2 starred loxes would stomp about anything I think.
that first one still making me sad
Huh. Thanks. I guess the video I saw was outdated.
Starred lox have never been a thing
Only way to get them would be either a mod or devcommands
Same for the other mobs that can't be starred
Might have just been plain wrong or didn't add the outliers and focused on the most mobs work this way.
2 star squitos would just be plain don't get stung or you are death thing and will cause many nightmares.
i know
LOL
Thinking about it now, they never talked about Plains and later mobs. But Plains was in from the start, right?
||I did find a 2 star askvin from the ashlands||
2 star Charred Warlocks that summon starred Twitchers 😁
yeah
good to know
i didn t know that the copper scrap is the normal copper
well the result is the same
what weapons from blackforge are recommanded for mistlands/ashlands?
for a warrior
like sword +shield or 2 hands
Both work fine.
Mistwalker
Mistwalker rocks.
That would make no sense. It'll probably used for whatever ore is available in Deep North though.
gotta get wisp to unlock it
Idk what would be the point of having a smelter that's clearly intended for the endgame metals to just switch to universal smelting and leave smelter completely worthless
Froziron. 😛
Frosteel
Fropper
Fronze
Frolver
Frostiron.
if it's frosteel, watch people spell it froststeel
Iceillium
!!!IRON!!!
Frometal
it's not even gonna be a new ressource we are just gonna use iron because why not
Na, we are going all the way back to copper/bronze.
frostmetal
the worst part is that it doesnt seem completely impossible wich i think is sad
Titanium.
Because Vikings totally had that 😉
it s cool that u do tons of dungeons in swamp for iron and mine like a robot on mountain to make later a set from some bing amfibians skin
on mist
Fuck. No. To. Robots. In. Valheim.
tf is the amfibian in the game?
seekers
that's a .. bug
still disgusting
Yeah but amphibian means they can live both on land and water, Seekers don't do that. I believe the neck is an amphibian.
but in dungeons they do stay in the water
at the bottom of the pits, where they belong
I loved the way copper became relevant again. Not massively, but enough to make going back to mine some more deposits worth it.
You didn't need to go back to the mines(s) since the copper weapon and armor in the mists work too.
They were removed from swamp raids and the justification given was that they don't like really wet environments, also, amphibians have a vertebrate whereas Seekers have an exoskeleton, they're not amphibians. Sure are disgusting though.
Amphibians are animals, seekers are insects. Different kingdoms, but ya they give me the creeps every so often.
well some insects are always on water so that s why i called em like that ,well mb i guess
necks and asksvins
(and with seeing how draugrs can just walk underwater i would put them in that category too 😛 )
Insects are animals… 😜
Necks and Asksvins are dogs, and dragurs are just zombies who could swim really well before they died.
Lox must be amphibious, too, right?
water buffalo
not necessarily, its part lizard and part ox, neither of those has to be amphibian 🙂
draugrs dont swim though, they walk on the buttom like zombies
like the charred did, slowly ammassing an army under you boat
wow I used to think salamanders were reptiles
why
true, but as undead, do they even need to breathe? if not, and that's the reason they can move underwater, I'd say its more a thing of being undead than an amphibian.
Gents... take a walk.
dead amphibian

my head hurts just thinking of moving
Quoting the Pirates line about undead walking underwater.
underwarer orr..?
idd say they can walk underwatercause they are heavy enough and have no oxygen in their bodies anymore and thus cant even float
oooh
they have a lizard-like appearance
lizards have scaly skin
that is fair
what trees just jump out of the ground when they grow thats so funny
first time seeing that
rant ahead:
||they did blood magic dirty i think. i get that its meant to be more utility-focused but if you wanna main blood magic, you gotta gamble for skeles with bows if you wanna do any range damage, skeles die in like, 2-3 hits, and are even harder to use in higher difficulty modes where they die in 1-2 hits. which would be fine if they were meant to be meatboxes for enemies to be distracted by but each blood magic level increases their damage, not health. new staff doesnt give any xp, which sucks extra hard cuz its already the skill that levels the slowest in the game, and bubble shield is OP yea but like, its not like an elementalist or any build with eitr cant use it as a side piece. my side pieces are a bow and mace and they are both at lvl 40 while blood magic is lingering at lvl 20, the level i grinded it to at a graydwarf spawner, and if i die, even lower
meanwhile my save for a full blown elementalist is lvl 50, doing absurd damage at any range, didnt grind at all. i dont get it||
there needs to be a semi-reliable way to do damage yourself as a blood mage, melee or ranged, a staff that used like 5% hp or 10% hp to do a blood slash or something, or a homing blood missile for 20% hp. i wish the ||thunder shotgun|| was blood magic and shot bone fragments or something instead, was holding out for a way to be a blood magic pure in this update, with all the undead stuff, and i just ended up playing melee with ✨bonus✨skeletons✨ again lmao
✨
all in all tho, the new stuff is inherently cool and it is a hell of a good update now that i got to experience it in full
Ha, yes. I love visiting my tree farm a few days after planting saplings.
boioioioioioioooiiiinnnggg
didn't read but good for you!
I think of it more like a cork coming out of a bottle… slight creak… then POP!
hmm should i finish my cross shaped house with a tower in the middle?
Yes.
okay, it won't be that big 2x2 meter, will look cool tho
do you mean that in a sense of 2floor x 2floor? since that would be technically 4x4 😄
i also confuse it all the time XD
Is that just the tower or the whole building?!
Both magics Works together id think. This is bc i dont miss any Blood weapon direct Damage dealer
I'm kinda over dying in Ashlands. What are you guys up to?
drakes arent dangerous, just super annoying bruh
That would be entirely dependent on whether you're rocking flametal or leather armour (edit: Bruh!).
Living in Ashlands.
pretty sure the mountains don't have flametal
it depends a lot if you have frost resist or not 😄
Bravo you. How's the 5G coverage in your base? I can't imagine you're leaving for much outside of necessities.
Someone wants tô creat a New server to play together with others people?
It's literally everywhere. All wood~~ is ~~ contains ashwood in Ashlands.
Eat better food.
What does food have to do with wood costs for flooring?
x2 resources world modifier 😉
Nah. I enjoy the grind.
Using materials isn't costed entirely in placement, you need to consider collection as well.
I'll have a large cappuccino, please.
looking for a server/people to play with. all of my buddys dont like valheim and im starting to get bored in my world alone
thank youuuuuu
You're welcome. Anytime. 😄
Is full rag armor and a flint axe to fight the first boss?
its enough imo, you could make teather armor but its not really necesseary 😄
Given you can beat every boss naked and with only your fists... yes.
Well... maybe not Fader 😁
Aight thx
honestly after having a heap of trouble with landing in ashlands its become one of my favourites
are golems known to guard cabins in the mountains?
yep
well the suffering was worth it cuz that cabin had onion seeds
about that i just go naked with frost mead and high stamina food loot it quickly then run back like coward
if they dropped silver it might feel worth it
but how many?
Ah farts, still no tuning patch?
Are we expecting one?
I'm expecting something given the changes on test
Is there a plan to add Dvergs furniture and wooden floor and beams? 🧐
living the dvergr live
What’s better the porcupine or frostner for plains
frostner imo
Right. They are just cool... Who would bother!
Frostner for sure.
Against loxes Frost does no Damage btw. I would go with Blackmetal Sword, Frostner and Blackmetal Atgeir
or you can just use spear against everything in the plains
The world gen blessed our world, both a mountain and swamp are connected to our starter island
fun fact, fallen valkyrie projectiles can be parried
it hasnt blessed us with a moder rune stone tohuhgh
it's not too hard to find 🙂
it hasnt spawned in our world apparently
Everything can be parried if youre skilled enough
We've searched about 3 mountains, got like 400 silver, like 5 dragon eggs but we can NOT find this rune stone
It REFUSES to spawn
that sounds like pain
We're so ready to fight but we literlaly cant 😭
i had that issue with my server about a year ago before the mistlands update
We have been ready to fight but it just, we cant find it
also this is the biggest mountain i have ever seen
hmm, it can be in frost caves or in the stone structures in mountains, you will find it sooner or later 🙂
Sooner or later hopefully sooner
It's hell wanting to play the game but you're literally locked, we cannot progress
we've got all the things we need, we cant really do much else
i haven't dared trying to parry dvergr mages yet 😅
first time i played through valheim me and my step dad had to search through 19 plains biomes before finding a stone telling us where the last boss was...
Cool!
Doesnt make me gain any motivation to keep searching
dev commands look tasty af rn
Just 3?
💀
My bad, sorry I'm not willing to spend 10 hours searching for a single rune stone just so that I can actually progress
Can always use a seedviewer if you don't want to engage in the exploration component of the game
In 10 hours you could cover the entire map.
i found Moder spawn location (actual location, not vegvisir) in 3rd mountain.. also it was the first big one
previous 2 were quite smaller mountains
You cannot explore the ENTIRE map in 10 hours with our boat, Im almost certain of that
me too, except i've been playing in my own world to catch up to my friends and their'retheyer moder was close while i had to sail for mine where mistlands and deep north would of met 💀
lovely
at least in that outer rim. 2 moders that were near the edge
we are currently searching the ice cavesi n this mountain, praying its in one of them cause ugh 😭
This entire world has been cursed, because on one hand we've been getting pretty good luck
but we also had to search like 3 hours for a single swamp crypt, but once we found a swamp with one that swamp then had enoguh crypts to set us for the run
however i have a big mountains near home for good silver, found a big swamp with like 14 sunken crypts, long big plains with yag nearby, elder was on my starting island, and elkthyr wasn't far either. to compensate the luck it got all compressed into a day and a half journey to find a rune to find moder and then sail to moder.
no wonder moder cries 😭
that is legit what happened to me 💀
LMAO
power spike luck hits hard frfr
Oh also, we have a swamp and mountain connected to our spawn island
Its just...we found the mountain only after exploring the others and the swamp had nothing in it
i found so much iron i couldn't bring it back to my base in one go
we made a forge and workbench at the place so, we also didnt farm THAT much iron
i had like 3 swamps on my starting island but they were all dinky small ones. lots of body piles though
bonemass was easy enough, i beat it first go and my friend...died a lot but we did win
yeahhhhh
revisiting bonemass with frostner was a good treat
why'd you revisit bonemass
cuz frostner does great damage against it; dopamine hit
he a stinky fella
i main clubs
fair, we havent made frostner
Im just using a silver sword and silver shield
i woukd but im lazy to stick with one class
sword user 💔
i used an atgier for bronzed!
i had Moder quite close to spawn 😅
me too but i took this to a new level and stuck with club cuz it's the first weap u get, unless ur an axe user then u rite
fair play
good thing i know how to read and totally didn't read it as "too lazy to not stick to one class"
LMAO
have elder and moder on starting island and bonemass and yagluth a bit further (like on 2nd island north of starting island), but quite close together
luckyt mf
technically it's not a starting island.. but like 3 islands merged together 😅
but the question remains of what did you loose for easier starter bosses access?
in which, kinda? i mostly use clubs but i try different things. if i wanna do funny stuff i take knive and see if i can stealth attack trolls or stronk foes in general. i usually carry an atgeir for aoe. i used to have a sledge but it felt really awkward and seemed a bit better for coop than solo
because everything has a price when RNG has a say in things.
nice. i had a huge mf starting island
idk rly 😅
pain. misery 😏
i died many times in a stupid way.. but it's my first playthrough.. so gonna die a lot everytime i meet something new
like yesterday when i learned that cultists can't be staggered with the atgeir sweep attack 🥲
decient drops for ore (like iron), surtling spawners, an over abundance of harder mobs (like golems or aboms)...? the posibilities are endless.
my first playthrough as well. first time i saw a troll with my wood shield and deer armor i was like i can perfect block this
best part was it had a log
and that i definitely need a fire resistant mead
oo gimme more golems
can't wait for when two handed hammers get changed. maybe something for tower shield too
why would they get changed?
why are they good?
eh? i didnt say they are
i personally dont really like them
i am asking why do you think they should be changed
I'm more interested in why they think they WOULD be changed.
and here i am nitpicking cause of no commas
I saw that cheeky edit.
they feel pretty strange to use er like clunky? not the greatest with words, but maybe if hammer had an attack sequence that were slow but hard and the secondary attack being a slam, that sounds cool.
i don't really know where tower shield fits 🤷♂️ maybe for hordes to block multiple attacks? but it feels like a slight outlier compared to the other two, but im also good at parrying so may just be me biased for liking bucklers a lot
curious what y'all think/any tips about the two weapons, as in like thematics they're totally what i would use
no tips, i dont play with those, but i dont see a point in berating something i dont know how to use/dont know whats its best use is, simply, i dont play with those but if somebody want to play with it then by all means, doesent concern me
yea
afaik, they don't get the multi-target downgrade to damage, but I could be wrong since I have only rarely used the 2h hammers before.
I'm a big fan of 2hand hammers, most specifically the stagbreaker. But I'll admit I always liked it more as a tool than a weapon.
Guys, im a new player. I already have 2 deer throphys. How do I find the boss spawn.
As a straight up damage weapon they really aren't that spectacular though, if you're playing solo and want a weapon to smash people up close with, the 2hand hammers are not that.
The point where you started, the spawn ring, has a "Vegvisir" that you can interact with to show/place the boss altar on the map.
Or just run around until you find a weird looking altar, there tend to be 1-2 close by.
i don't think they do, and they do have a pretty beeg shockwave aoe. they also feel badass even though i don't like it much.
something really funny about throwing this at a greyling and you see the ragdoll go flying lmao
i had two side by side of each other. i dunno if that's normal or if they're usually scattered on the island lol
It naturally varies by seed, my current seed doesn't have one on the starting island, so I had to sail to get to it. (love it!)
But MOST seeds, usually have 2 within spitting distance of spawn...
welcome to the rest of the game, where things get much harder and more satisfying when beat.😉
Yeah to be honest the difficulty really dissapointed me. Altho im playing on normal mode.
Well, dissapointed aint the right word. It was underwhelming,
ya, for those who are accustomed to challenge, like darksouls, the first boss is a "wait that's it?" kinda of a feeling. it was aparently designed as a tutorial for how bosses work mechanically and how to spawn them, so it was made easier than the others by quite a lot.
wow that's tough 😂
yeah it all scales up as u go. elder will be fun for you
the true dark souls boss is using trolls as free labor and trying not to die
Honestly, learning to sail earlier in the game is better, I think, when there's less risk to a bad trip.
I'd say yes, as long as it doesn't involve a RAFT.
Lol, no, definitely not the raft.
first raft experience should be sliding it down a mountain, with lots of campfires to ensure less death up the uphill battle
🥸
And yeah, since I have to sail to get to first boss, I can't get the antler pick, so no metal, so no Karve yet.
This is the first game I actually put time on my base. I placed a rug in my base and everything.
i.. can't say same about my house
my house is missing a wall for the aesthetics i promise 👍
My house is a hole in the ground....
my forge is in a hole as well
i have constructed a floating bellows for my forge somehow. it works well
the eitr refinery needs to be in a hole in the ground(or boxed in by marble).
my campfires are under the house and i have to stand in some spots to interact with stuff that would smoke me
said forge is down there too xdd
definitely not the most optimal base design then.
i'm cooking i promise (cauldron also smokes me)
Have you tried building a chimney?
Wait
..theoretically there is one
Do necks start spawning after the first boss? I just started seeing em
i actually don't know. i feel like necks have always been there but i never paid attention
Naah, they just spawn randomly in meadows near water.
Necks will always spawn.
necks are inevitable
you will never escape
i died 3 times on Eikthyr 🥲
True
yes, without necks, there would only be floating heads and sholders..... they are in the game from the beginning.
Im an outward player, valheim is deffo easier
i just want to use eikthyr as a mount. :/
Two completely different games tho
precisely
Horses and wolves would be awesome to ride
outward?
It gets compared to valheim a ton
Check it out i think you'd like it
I've never heard of it in that context.
🤔 really? i tried it early on, and absolutely hated it.. :x
must be the ark survival evolved and conan exiles comparison in my head. i'll check out later
Yeah? I like it a ton. I really dont really get the comparisons it is just a great game tbh.
Just no building like valheim
hmm. i just remember several hours of traveling through nothing, and thinking "im not high enough for this"
maybe they added content after
I assume this is the raid
dodge and weave!
just stay in the red circle and kill stuff
what if i leave
Then the counter will pause.
you could just run in circles if combat becomes to much until the hoard dies down and the event ends.
then clean up the stragglers.
I got a severe lack of soft tissue
"The forest is moving" and the other raid that comes after killing second boss are definitely harder then killing the bosses that enable them, the third boss is the first that is a bit harder if you don't prepare well. The hardest boss imo is the 6th even if you prepare
this is always the case, those skulls are hard to find, there is one trick though, if you don't talk to the raven when you find the first skull, he will always pop up when you are near a skull and therefore make them much easier to find
or you could pick the dwarfs.....brains
the dwarfs drop so little tissue is not worth it imo
I don't fight them ever, I get my extractors with the cart normally
I don't wanna talk about how long it took to get 10 cores
brings over the foghorn of death
And on hard mode the seekers nearly one shot the dudes, I bet they do on VH
also normal unless you get very lucky
post 1st extractor, you could just play marbles with the ward and refined eitr....
Then a soldier comes by and stomps and now their dwelling is gone. Buff structures BTW
true, I still use cart though, only want to damage ward not all the other stuff
percision, i see.
Cart ward?
raming the ward using the cart. the game doesn't reconize it as a act of agression so the dwarfs don't become hostile. same with refined eitr or dragging a bunch of seekers into combat with them.
Seriously, the difference between a hard and an easy seed, is just how lucky you are with which direction you go at the start...
may be? there are some seeds that don't have any bosses on the starter island and/or the starter island is tiny. both would make things more challenging (at least in the beginning).
Yeah there's some outliers, basically by how stunted your starting island is, and if it's possible to walk off it. I've played a few of those and love them. But generally every seed I've seen people say is hard, and I've either looked it up or tried. Just go a different direction and it becomes easy.
this game is largely about exploration, so most complaints about how hard it is, sometimes boils down to the person not exploring enough to get the resources needed to progress with relative ease.
which is basically what you said with more words.
i wanna complain that everything on a slight incline or decline can hit me but i cant hit it
i got mad stacks of bars
You gradually learn to take this into account.
by far the biggest complaint about the game
They can't tho
Enemies can't hit targets at slopes
are you playing valheim?
Difference is when the attack itself has a wide range
Or it's an aoe.
Which the player has a lot of too
i can show you 100 different ways across every biome that something can attack me from a point i cannot hit it
its especially bad in the mountains and mists
I have seen draugr miss attacks on a work bench that is like 0.1m below them
So yes, I do play valheim, If I didn't, I wouldn't be saying any of this
Enemies suffer from the same sloped combat issue players have
but you are wrong
I'm not
Enemies attack exactly where they're aiming.
Which is not up or down, like the player
its funny since you wont believe me i go do a simple search on the topic and get pages of people with the same complaint, even a legit mod to fix it
What are you talking about?
When did I deny the issue is a thing?
I am explicitly stating that it is there, but that enemies suffer from it too...
Eh, people just read what they want to, you know that.
incredibly rare
im gonna need someone to tell the seekers and wolves they cant actually hit me on slopes
Naah, just depends on the attacks animation, hitbox, aoe etc. Which depends on each single attack, as much for player as for enemies.
Same reason so many players hate the spear. They craft one in meadows, and then try to kill Necks with it, which is so low to the ground that any elevation at all makes you miss them. So people just think spear is bad, can't hit anything, bad attack animation, etc. (And thus never learn to position themselves either)
kinda like not taking arrow drop into consideration.
Or whatever is going on when you try to shoot either up or down elevation differences.
Yeah, feels like the position the arrow is fired from doesn't change based on your vertical rotation. Like how it fires from a bit forward from your location when looking straight down rather than from around the center of the screen (like when you're facing forward).
Didn't see a mod section, only mod issue, so asking here.
Is there a mod that lets enemies attack your base/house if you choose to hide inside?
I want that base defense feel
I know ashlands is meant to be hard but omg
I did a playthru on very hard combat b4 ashlands
now I am getting smashed
yeah ashlands is on a whole other level compared to other biomes
I just discovered a room at the bottom of a frost cave, that I hadnt found before, with a fishing rod, and a runestone, with someones final last words, before he laid down to die 😭
Now I have a fishing rod 😄
lol!
Would be cool if different fish have different properties, but from what ive seen with the ones that have washed up/jumped on my boat, so far they are all lackluster.
that about sums up my feelings about it. "that's so sad!! why couldn't you just leave the way i got in?? now i'm depressed. oh! free stuff! I'll take that, kthx."
He stated why tho, he was too cold n weak to get back out the way that he fell down, and he could only survive so long!
i kindof wonder if they'll do something more with fish when they do the oceans update
The only ones that could be considered to have "properties" would be the puffer fish (can poison) or the angler fish (has the light, I am not sure if you can use it as a light source like surtling trophies).
Ocean Update was on the 2021, or 2022, Roadmap, to be done that year 😂
Yah, that map had some very lofty time goals.
H&H, Ocean, Deep North, and something else i think, al in one year
Likely ashlands
the angler light doesn't seem to do much. it says something kinda funny but.
Ya, all that content wouldn't fit in a year unless it was already done and they only needed to bug test it.
I do remember the "this could be a spider biome" mistlands.
Glad it wasn't. Lots of people have arachnophobia.
i still want a spiderweb treehouse.
I was looking forward to the spiders 😦
same
It's still in the code...
Halloween special 😛
Just like the old version of ashlands metal is.
Aint been to new Ashlands yet, but one of my characters had thousands of Flametal 😂
Among other things that never made it into game.
Ya, that flametal is obsolete most likely.
I poke around devcommands a lot, hence why I know some random stuff like this.
I remember getting to Ashlands for the first time, and there was surtlings, and flametal 😂
Then we sailed our boat an hour home, to find out it couldnt be smelted
i never got there before the update. :/
"Meteorite ore"
Meteorite Ore?
I believe that was the old name for flametal
Ah, when i discovered it, was flametal, this was April of w/e year this game released
Considering it was just a flaming rock in a small-ish crater.
Might have been a placeholder name or a fan name.
Who knows, i just remember the discussion of, is it Flame-tal, or Fla-metal
flame metal?
It was one of those, had to be a few drinks in and there convos 😂
drinks are important for important discussions like that.
I prefer fla-metal just because it sounds kinda like flotilla(ship term).
And ships are important for vikings.
Flotilla now has me thinking of Godzilla..
Hi, what determens an enemies lvl?
Do they increase over time, or only when u walk to more dangerous bioms?
The amount of players on a server, if they have 0, 1 or 2 star also plays a factor
And of course, the difficulty setting in world modifiers
okay so increase in diff, will make more star mobs?
The mobs wont have increased stars, but a 0 star is like fighting a 1 or 2 star, depending what setting, so a 2 star could be like fighting a 4(?)
No star is the base level of a monster, 1 and 2 star are the levels above. The difficulty increases with a couple factors 1 being how far from OG spawn you are, the other being is you are playing with other people.
Monsters stronger further away?! 😮
3rd factor is a recent addition of world modifiers.
In general, yes.
We talking biomes, or, a greyling that spawned at OG spawn vs a greyling that spawned on outerrim?
Hence why you don't see 2star enemies close to spawn, but on the outer edges like the mistlands, they become more common.
Not sure greylings get stars, but greydwarfs definitely do.
I thought you meant the monsters themselves, regardless of stars gets stronger further from spawn, my misunderstanding 🙂
Just the increase chance of a star being added the further from spawn.
Tell you what, a swarm of 1 star greydwarfs is kinda scary.
Nothing on a starless seeker soldier, still scary.
My first and only mistlands playthru was with my kids, so i threw them at the soldier, while I attacked it from behind, sure the kids died here and there, but i didnt find them troubling at all 😂
Well, then you have fodder, it's a different game.
Yeah, have 2 worlds active atm, one is with the kids, (up to mountains) and solo world, Plains (have found yag vegvisir) just doing final touchups, so will experience mist solo very soon
In the case of the server I recently joined, I'm the fodded(the polite term is tank).
Its actually easier playing solo, than with 2x children 😂
Between trying to coach them and the increase in damage monsters do in multi-player, I can only imagine.
The resources are like leftovers in the fridge, you think they are there, til you go to get them 😛
You:
"Where did all the ore go..."
Kids: "we made a billion level 1 swords"
Ya, I can see that happening
It'd be fine if they helped mine the ore
Nope, no patience for anything that isn't immediately fun.
I get that way on occasion, and devcommand what I need.
Our first experience before cloaks/chest pieces in mountain, we had 2 frost pots each, the boy used his, died to a stone golem, then came back thru portal repopped it, fought stone golem for 10 minutes, never killed it, then sat at base asking when he gets silver 😂
"I did the thing! Where's my stuff?"
We made him carry the cart FULL of Silver along the mountain and home, think it took him 7 hours... He learnt his lesson XD
🍿
Ya, the "if you want it, you earn it" lesson.
Man this is entertaining I’ve been listening to this lol
Yeah now whenever i need anything, hes off to get it for me 😂
Oooh, a little helper now.
I'm kinda that way on the server. If I see we are missing a upgrade for a bench or low on food and it's a lul in our shenanigans, I'll see about fixing things up.
thanks this might come in handy in my multiplayer world...
Its much easier to split it into two carts, as then it can move, he had to flatten his whole path
I just spent four hours trying to get everyone on and waiting and finally did and my friends didn’t like valheim…
I find it easier half the time to do it myself, but if you teach them that in games and real life, they become useless.
I find the biggest issue, is getting everyone on at same time these days...
yeah but i mean as punishment
Adulting CM
Oh yeah most definitely
Yeah, between work, partners, children and life, not much time that all lines up for gaming
when the stars align
But when it does line up, of thats the best of times!
Yep it sucks but yk it’s worth it
How do I unlock building blocks?
Can only make wood atm, but cant even make wooden wall with window
find new materials. after you get into swamps, you can start building with stone
ohh okay, thanks 😄
y'all think no build cost in a not really vanilla world is cheating?
getting tar is hard lol I got smacked by 4 black slime and no idea how to get closer
make them fight?
Yes
I did notice a fuling running into me while I was running away but chose to ignore me for some reason and fought them lol
Or use the abomination head piece which give poison resistance
that removes the slow they affect you too?
got it
Holy crap fader is hard.
Can someone get me the voice of Yagluth going WA ZOO (meteor attack)
I need this inside joke to become more stupid
I'm maxed out on weapons and everything and can't get him down to 3/4 health.
Check a youtube guide for defeating him
Yeah I've looked some stuff up. I summon a troll, but either the troll dies super fast or it doesn't attack fader. Fader also just leaves, like he'll wander away and get far enough out of range for the boss fight, it's ridiculous. I'm like chasing after him so he doesn't regen.
U can snipe em from a high platform.. usually using silver arrows, but needle works too.. or just aggro big mobs on them
Also saw a video where guy was jumping them with daggers
Depends what u wanna build i use it rn to finish the mansion i started somewhere in plains between 2 mistlands bioms
Need space and there s so much things to farm for in game and very bit of time since i work a lot
valheim
yeah im on that border since I turned on portals allowing ore transfer after spending 20+ hours farming and transporting copper
Huh, leather armor isnt popping up in the work bench for some reason. The workbench is level 2.
you've killed deer right?
you need deer hide to make leather armour
Aha theres a difference, thank you.
My second run so im kinda new. The last safe got corrupted early.
ah rip the first one .. sorry to hear that .. hope this one is fun for you
Yeah fresh slate is awesome
boar drop leather scraps and deer drop leather
Cant I combine scraps to get leather?
you might find the wiki super helpful .. there's loads of useful information on there
no, leather scraps are used for other things
that would be cool but no
I'm against combining, but being able to break leather down into scraps would make sense imo.
yea in hindsight combining them would be bad cause you could then just farm them but making scraps would actually be great
Will I spoil something for myself if I search up how to unlock eitr?
yes, its 5 biomes ahead of you
indeed 🙂
I have full leather armor and a base, im pretty proud tbh
You recommend anything else for my journey in the dark forest?
a club will be your friend while exploring there 🙂
yes, spear can be kinda hard to get hang of as a begginer, club will make exploring certain things in BF easier
True, that range keeps confusing me
Like the first hit hits but then I miss like 4 times.
its also good to have a round shield and a bow
spear also requires you to actually aim most of the time
the club is straigtfoward see enemy, beat enemy to death
Alrighty
anyone trynba play
Yessir just killed my first troll
Poor troll... just out there trying to live his best life 😦
is there anyway to just start demolishing trees rocks etc ? or whats the most efficient way? I'm trying to build my main base in black forest with a lake in the middle
Trees? -Axe
Rocks? -Pick
chop and pick, you can get help from trolls or you can summon elder if the altar is close
he didnt do nun 😔
living his life intervening with industrial progress wich he doesnt even understand
I found it i reddit
Finally got the full troll set.
now to upgrade it as high as you can
LOL I actually just beat the queen and died to a seeker afterwards
I like this loophole, but does it make sense that in a player based raid scenario that I can kill a boss, and not pick-up the boss items, and as a result not push the Raids to the next tier, but still get access to the Trader's revised stock from the Boss kill?
100 hours in to Valheim and alt-tabbing back into the game, mistakenly swung my Mistwalker once and clapped my yule tree 😠 thought about using devcommand for the first time to spawn one, can't see it as an option?
Just change the date/time on your PC to a window where Yule is available to build.
will try just that, thanks
change it before you login to the world, it won't live update build stock.
How to fight lava blobs??
They kill themselves. You don't have to fight them.
Run at them then run away.
can someone one help me, im new to this game and i have flint weapons so far and there is a troll it already chased me but i got away do i have a chance of killing it if i try??
Flint arrows, dodge roll when it swings at you
A chance yes.
morgen is harder than queen
morgen is easier to deal with than the charred warrior
is it me or is magic beyond garbo in this game?
Hello. Where can I seek advice about hosting a dedicated (always running) server?
It is you.
#dedicated-server i beleive
ye. thanks
How much eitr do you spend to kill a single charred with one of the staves?
Depends on your skill level.
You'd also have to ask a mage person. But full mages seem to be absolutely wrecking through Ashlands due to the sheer damage and aoe output.
Skill level.. hmm. I wonder at what level it becomes useful.
the problem with magic is by the time you have it all your skills are likely int he 70's and then here you get magic at 0
Same can be said for Arbalests.
What's your food?
Ygg porridge and seeker aspic, third one would usually be a high HP food
I'm not complaining about my eitr, but more about the damage output
I guess I need to level it up
Just about leveling 🤷♂️
I wish they added a secondary ability, would've been sweet
I agree in that it's not fun, but it's very powerful.
hello
And it's balanced around level 0
So there's no "problem" anywhere...
Hey
hello
If magic was available earlier, then mistlands and ashlands enemies would have to be balanced around that.
I'm sure everyone would love much stronger mistlands and ashlands enemies.
Coughs in warriors dealing +150 damage per hit as of now
i find the later addition of "as of now" funny
mmaybe i should phrase it like this, everything at level 60 or 70, then you get magic which is level 0, and is balanced but becouse its at level 0 it makes you feel like its weak cause of your skill levels having sucha big gap
you might wanna post it in screenshots 😄
It's just a screenshot, not sure why it posted it as image.png lol
Why would it fall?
Because gravity? Nothing is holding it up
First time playing Valheim?
It happened with a big tall rock
So?
ooooh...wait till you see floating silver veins 😄 reminds me...gotta go up there and pop it ... first silver for that character 😄 looking forward to shiny new toys
sadly still bonemass between me and the shiny stuff
killed him this morning between 6:07 and 6:09 and a second time between 6:10 and 6:12 because i forgot to bring 20 Bones had to jump home to get more 😄
he just needs 10 bones or did they change it
I will skip asking for help if it has to be so condescending sounding
yeah he needs 10 bones but i wanted to kill him twice so 20 bones
brought only 10 so had to go home get another 10
i guess the second one was for the base trophy
jupp wanna hang him on the roof 😄
elder gets to be hung above the mantle because he talks 😄
That actually freaked me out the first time haha
i wish they would make all of them talk and give them some different lines to say too... that would be so awesome
Whoohoo! it collapsed 😄
isn't that fun`? 😄
very satisfying
Bonemass talks too.
i never heard him talked in all the over 2000h i was playing that game 😦 how very very sad 😦
every boss talks 😉
i only heard the elder ever talk none of the others i ever heard talking 😦
weeeelll "read" talking technically
yeah 😄
weeeeel i should h ang them all in the living room to see what they have to say
I do find it disappointing magic comes much later, same with the xbow
dude I have finally gotten around to trying some Mistlands out and it's so confused. It's so terrible. It's like the worst parts of Valheim put into one Biome.
I actually like the mistlands a lot 😄 Plains is favorite and second is mistlands 😄 so beautiful 😄
Really? even though you can not see anything at all ?
Terrain features don’t always work in the same way as stuff you build. It won’t necessarily collapse when unsupported. Some things do. Others kinda slide and fall. Some just float.
i can see... i use the whisplight and there are stretches where there is no mist... i mark them on the map and if i get lots of mobs i go there and fight them there
it took some getting used to the first time but now i like it a lot
i also mark out some paths i often walk with whisptorches you can see them glow in the mist and that helps not getting lost 😄
Better wording yes.
The problem is not the skills themselves, it's people thinking it's weak because everything else is higher.
Are they forgetting that magic is the most broken playstyle in the whole game despite the initial low levels?
// now working on my japanese learning so that i can go play some after 😄
you dont even have to mark them 😄 places without mist are really dark on the map, and with mist are purple-ish
Kill Yagluth first. Then you can see.
it's just a slightly zone i can see it's so stupid
In your opinion 🤷♂️
so you would like mistlands... without mist?
||Also you can build torches to keep the mist cleared in a larger area...||
I think each biome has it's unique challenges and i like it that way... everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but for me it is fine the way it is, if i would not like it I would go play something else 😄
never noticed that - will keep it in mind but usually it is easier for me to see the marks on the minimap and head that direction 😄
yeah, i only realized that few days ago when i have got into mistlands again 😄
with me getting lost with a map on it is just so much easier to have clear markings... if i need to go places i will ping the map for myself as not to loose direction so much and run in circles 😄
So why not play V rising instead?
I'll admit, I'm not a fan of mistlands myself so far. I even did a run with a mod to disable the entire mist, and I still didn't like it. :-/
Already did, it was better
So go back.
Well then go back to it?
What I mean is, if you think it's better, don't play Valheim, but play V rising instead.
why can't I play both?
Mistlands are weird, I both like it and not. Main problem is that we act like rabbits on heroine all the time. And without seed maps finishng it would be a chore. Still I enjoyed it, cool biome, armor is a meh style, weapons are fun and that's it
ugg 600 stone and 57 silver ore... 😄 need to get building some awesome stone stuff 😄
If only Black Marble game in the same abundance 😭
v rising did what better?
I think they could tone down the mist by making it a little more transluscent so you could at least see rough outlines of things
When you die and lose skill experience, can you delevel?
or does it only go down to 0xp from the current lvl
There aren't levels, but you lose 5% to all skills
Unless by level you meant skill level
That doesnt really make sense
yeah that was what i meant 😄
actually it does
you got running at lvl 100 you die you go down to lvl 95 -> 5% of 100
I think there are modifiers for that if I recall
yeah that too.. you can lessen what you loose with the modifiers ... i never do it so i am not quite sure about how much... i think you can make it so you loose none at all
||can you use black marble to build over lava?||
||no, only flametal doesn't get destroyed by lava||
||once you have built a framework from flametal pillars above the lava then you can use anything||
Why are we blacking out stuff about fully released content?
figured it might be new to somebody, it was new to me?
just got to Ashlands recently
some people might still be expieriencing it
The Ashlands has lava. You can use flametal to build on it.
The other new building materials are grausten and ashwood.
There are also charred, asksvin, morgen, and fallen valkyrie.
and i know what it feels like to be spoilered ahem... ashlands boss
The new mechanic is constantly not having stamina due to fighting fortresses. 😉
bruh
Darth Vader was added to the game and he chokes you
👎
final boss is elmo
and here i was thinking the seventh boss was moders divorced husband 😄 he is still angry about the divorce it seems 😄
I believe it’s called being considerate of others. 😜
Been out for 2 months. We are well past needing to block things out. 🤷♂️
Oh, btw, I’m working on an addition to your food Google Sheet - shall I PM you a link when I have it done?
What kind of addition?
An additional page that allows one to answer the question “I have lots of X, what can I make with it?” more easily.
Don't need a pm.
If it helps you to know such, that's a great resource.
Not something I would add to my sheet though 🤷♂️
Ok. I just figured it’s something others would find useful.
To clarify: all 3 sheets I have pinned aren't actually for anyone.
They are my personal sheets that I use for me, and they were good enough info that I sent them to Scarlet for if she felt like adding them to her list.
But I didn't make them for anyone else, nor do I update them for anyone else.
No offense is intended by the above statement.
Surely the question should be "I have too much X, what else should I be gathering?"
That’s cool. I’ll just share it seperately.
It will answer that question too.
Hm.
For me, that question is answered in the recipes tab of the current sheet. You just look for what all X is used in.
Same tab is where you find you can just always cook Deer, Serpent, Fish, and Bonemaw meats as the raw version are never used.
Yeah, I’m just formatting the data a little differently so that you can see that information more quickly.
yay... onion seeds 😄 happy me
That's why I put watermelons on pizza
Pomegranate.
Enable ashlands mechanics in all biomes.
Build out of wood.
Place fire indoors.
Baked light textures in your baked building 😉
SEED
Um, OK?

I want to play Valheim with a mod, can you recommend a mod site?
is there a way to rename characters?
cart full of silver and dragon eggs flip rolled down an entire mountain side and survived
hmm.. why haul dragon eggs...?
Maybe there isn’t enough near Moder?
is that a thing that happens?
RNG be RNG.
hear me out tho
they're very baller
i love doing that
hmm. well iguess so, just never seen moder with no eggs near
sometimes it's intentional to see how much the cart loves me, and 99% othertimes accidents :p
If you have a stone portal its pretty easy to bring eggs from base for multiple summons even as a solo
only found two nests on my moder, tho i visited other mountain at that point in search of mody so i just had to haul from ship.
the mountain was way too steep to cart tho 😢
🤔 why not just throw them in a box and wait for more to spawn..?
Most people don't at the Mountains stage.
but i'd be boxed in so i don't think i wood'nt
it was a happy accident
cart was clinging to life by a thread
but is it as fun as making and sailing a longship down a mountain?
i need to try that
😋
however, i have done made a levitating boat
wing-gardian -levibota?
i made a boat and have the body fall through, but the sail top part caught on the wood platforms i put 'round, so now it just hangs there. wish i could more freely swing it though
i also died to my windmill that day, learned you can die to it, and learned that boat vs powerful windmill leads to funny moments
i also got 2 rafts sitting on top of my roof. they cover/shelter the cartography table on top
you sound like the type who would like a certain other game...garry's mod.
but ya, some people recommend windmills for a plains base because they shred skeeters.
what type of building pieces? wood, stone, metal?
ohh ye, wood 😄
wood does take damage (up to half its hp) from rain or waves if you live near the ocean.
Ohh okay, so it doesn't break completely 😄
yep
Thanks 😄
just looks a little different and is easier to break by accident/mobs.
What is a good way to get flint, besides going along the shoreline?
That's pretty much the only way to do it.
ohh okay, do they respawn, or do I at some point need to cross the earth to find a few flint? xD
They do respawn after 4 hours, yes. You certainly wouldn't need to cross the world (not the Earth of course) to get the small amount of flint you need.
They do respawn, but honestly there's a limit to how much you need.
The only thing you really need with flint are two of the workbench upgrades, the rest is entirely optional.
unless you are making a ton of arrows, you wont need much and will grow out of the flint(stone) age quickly.
the stones at the start would tell you, but yes 7 currently.
okay thanks just wanted to make sure!
Almost time I can play games! Logged out on top of a Sealed tower yesterday, won the jumping/building challenge.. Excited to see what is inside! (First time)
do you have a portal nearby?
those things are nuts. and the raid it unlocks is nuts too.
fwiw, the little protruding balcony things (...what is the proper word for those? its bugging me now) can be built on. anything technically outside the tower wall. structure placement hitboxes are a little funky, but. yeah.
does movement speed buffs (fenris armor) affect swim speed? i think it does but im not sure
What happens if you take a different boat into the ashlands? does it just instantly get destroyed or?
the water is a DOT effect
unless you have a lot of wood and repair often, you wont make it to the shore.
you also get a warning from hugin if you attempt it.
not instantly but rather fast
I also don't know if the dot gets stronger the longer the boat is in, someone said that in the ptr when Ashlands was first releases but I never checked up on that
you can do it, it's possible, your boat will most likely be destroyed, with some VERY short swim stints between the spikes and some gliding between them with feather cape its doable, but also possible that you take too much heat damage in the water and not make it to the next spire, it is certainly a gamble and the first approach could theorhetically be done with longboat and moder power (karve might not get to spire due to lower HP, it all depends)
I believe Its based on distance rather than time, meaning that the further into the ashlands red water you are the more dmg your boat takes, ať least thats what it felt like when i tried it in ptb (i forgot about Queens drop 😛)
sounds plausible
It should
I've used fader's power + fenris set + asksvin cape and I think i noticed increased speed.
Or probably the difference was from asksvin cape alone
It gets stronger the closer to shore up to 30 damage per tick
A question about golem spawns - I know there are rare one-time spawns near cabins, but the recurring spawns also seem to often be near stone structures - is this coincidence?
that is reasonably well known for them to spawn near cabins, silver is also often nearby where they spawn
Silver was going to be my follow up question!
stone structures I m not so sure personally, I wouldn't be able to confirm that from my experience
