I use an absolutely insane amount of wood on any given playthrough. Typically I will setup a portal called "wasteland" where I start at the edge of a blackforest and remove every tree there is 😄

Ah, my playthroughs all follow a similar pattern for my bases. My starter base is always on the edge of a blackforest and ocean then I don't make another base until I reach the plains where I typically use an island.

You can just bring mats for a stonecutter and forge and start dismantling those abandoned dvergr bridges. They're held up by cage walls.

A couple of more interesting things from the Grimmcore interview. His original vision was for the Ashlands to be one big massive city ruin. That was deemed too expensive, so just the ruins you do see. The Citadel central towers were going to be entrances to dungeons. They decided no Ashlands dungeons.

Walls will never work well to keep stronger enemies out but that is intentional. You should be fighting the enemies, not hiding inside your base.

My safest Mistlands build was to dig a big massive pit, and make the roof be of black marble. The only one who attacks down is the gjall, so only had to worry about their damage. The rest just ran across my marble roof, wondering where I was.

I prefer to utilize the options of it being a sandbox game where you can overcome obstacles by using your brain rather than just your brawn ;P

That said, raids are silly anyway since they are based on a timer rather than killing the incoming enemies. So actually fighting the enemies is a waste of time as more will just continue to spawn. It actually makes more sense to just run around in circles until the raid ends before killing the enemies or letting them just run off on their own.

depends on the raid. Some of them are basically free material deliveries so you want to kill as many as possible before the timer is up.

A way to cheese the timer, since it only counts down while you're in the circle, is to step out, kill the enemies, step back in to respawn them, step back out and repeat.

Doesn't really matter, in heavy armor you can still use short bursts of stamina and wasd to avoid all attacks, piloting the character effectively is the best way to not die in any situation

Well, it depends on how how long you spent time in the lava, because the longer you're in it, the more it starts to deal damage (ofc) so if you just dip in there, and immediately get out, you should take very little damage, or something that I've experienced, sometimes not taking damage at all if you're really quick.

But yeah, the bubble does help. But i can't really say for sure...

I have had success collecting extra flametal from the lava by throwing a basalt bomb and then jumping into the lava to collect the flametal right as the platform raises out of the lava. But I do agree that collecting extra flametal is an annoying task with all the fireballs flying

You can mine it using catapults with explosive payloads but then you have to go through the tedious task of digging it out of the lava. We had hoped that catapults and then riding through the lava on askvins would be an easy solution but you have to actually get off the askvin to collect it which makes that not much better than just mining with a pickaxe and basalt bombs in my opinion.

Uh, depends what you call best equip. For me at mountain stage I went with the above food, Drake helmet, root chest, and fenris legs. Was able to tank her barrage, but didn't have to because the fenris gave me speed to avoid it. Most the armor was pretty leveled, but it wasn't all max

So with devcommands you can give yourself kits of tools and armor at each stage of progression, and it also levels up your skills to match and at yagluth you are meant to be around 40 and at queen around level 70…

So I've been a seasoned player with 360 hours plus and I'm done with this game unless these devs change the spawn rate and damage dealt in Ashlands I did not pay for this BS I've played a 3 stack most of my hours and currently playing as a 3 stack and I'm sick of dying every single 5 mins because enemies just relentless spawn and don't mentioned skill issue because I'm here to have a fun time not a stressful 24/7 grind in this game, yes this game has its hard times and good times but Ashlands is just a BS time its tiring day in day out don't get me wrong I love this game but Ashlands is overstepping it now if you want a hard time then add modifiers for hard time cause I know I'll get flak from "skilled" players. that being said I'm disappointed in Ashlands so much potential locked behind an insane spawn rate and damage numbers. the devs need to realise that not all there players are able to play as much hours as the skilled players do, I'm not a fan of separating player base but please understand why I'm saying what I'm saying. I have a 9 to 5 and I get tired sometimes but I still put in a couple hours for Valheim because its mostly a damn good game however as I've said before this game is becoming a chore and not fun at all. please do what you will but once change happens then I'll hop onto this game other than that you've lost my interest in this game for now. I've given my 2 cents, thank you devs for making this game I've had a really good journey but it ends in Ashlands. Not everyone is as skilled in Valheim as you think please consider the others that just want to have a fun grind.

It's supposed to be a hard beach assault type of affair. But if you prepare and use all the lessons learned in the game up to that point, it's emminently doable.

You can solo all the bosses if you use the right techniques 😉 Yagluth isn't bad, the Queen is a bit of a menace, and I haven't done the Ashlands boss myself.

most ppl don't use it much. Sneak shots with bows and crossbows are great, if you can pull off knife sneak attack it does chonkers damage. Stealth can be powerful used right, but takes a lot of patience. Often you can do ranged sneak attacks without sneaking or having high sneak skill tho

Lox can be fed flax and barley as well as the cloudberries. Obviously the other 2 can be farmed while cloud berries are forageables. That said I often find cloudberry dense areas and drop a portal there for easy foraging so it's not that much different from farming the other 2 for getting them in good supply.

they should "suppress spawning" but not prevent spawns from entering the area. I think the raid diameter is something like 200m and the red mark on the map is only 100m or something to that effect.

IE: even if you had no gaps at all in your suppression within the red area, they could still creep in from the outer area. If there are gaps, they can spawn in the gap. It's a imperfect system and tricky to do well on a large scale.

If you don't mind using cheats/devcommands, the fly command will let you work underwater to a limited degree.

Iron buckler is great if you are on point with your parries. If you don't know the difference between parry and block yet, go with a normal shield, that allows you to do both. If you can't parry no matter what, use a tower shield.

Sounds good. Myself I prefer a shield over a buckler, so I can simply block if I get multiple enemies on me, and parry to then melt the opponent with a special attack.
In the plains having multiple enemies fighting you is rather common.
One and especially two stars hit harder. How much damage you can block also depends on your total max health - using the two best health foods available is a good idea.
