I like to do 4.
are you solo? assume im solo
At times.
Is there a command to reset the sea turtles?
Makes a boat out of flametal*
First ironclad of it's kind.
That is true, if you were on a second boat, arrows would be easier. I'm just imagining standing on the upside-down hull with a axe (swing down) at the ready.
I do 4 solo. I like to get it done fast.
ill make room for 4 then, thanks for the info
any other parallelized crafting tasks you suggest?
Not that I am aware of, unless you count moving world seeds.
im thinking 2 kilns, 2 smelters, and maybe 2 blast furnaces
I lke to do 3 blast furnaces and smelters, so I can do full stacks at a time.
thats not a bad idea
look at the math over here, brilliant
that all makes sense...damn ill need a way bigger workshop space then...
Once your in the swamps, you get more cores than you can ever need, so...
i havent really been looking for surtling cores and im down to 1 currently
ill go hunt some with intention
You in swamps yet?
plains, but i have a swamp portal to an almost completely untouched swamp section
Well, just find the spawners, and make them farmable.
Portal there about every 15 minutes, they spawn again.
yeah thats the way to do it
Hopefully you will find 3 or 4 pretty close together.
You know how to make them farmable?
yeah lower the height so it puts the dudes in water
Yes. Hoe usually works the best/fastest.
Building my fortress in the ashlands, and there is always smoke inside the building, is there any way to clear this out? Like the blue lamps in the mist lands clear the fog from inside your house
Depending on what you mean by smoke, it might be clearable if it isn't part of the heat haze from the environment. If it is from ash rain, the ashlands base shields should clear the general area much like it does for rain.
Its not from a storm or anything, it's just the ambient smoke/fog in the biome
I build my swamp base about 20m from 2 spawners that are about 15m or so apart. I now have 7 Blackmetal chests full of coal
just learned that blue jute exists for the first time
i should find 2 spawners then lol, coal will be in short supply soon i think
It's not like the rest of the banners, so some people completely miss it. I know I have before.
Unless you turn on fire spread and want to make forestfires a priority, surtling spawners are your best source of coal.
moreso than a tree farm with a bunch of kilns?
my spawner location is insane, there is a 3rd one not far either, havent even needed that one at all. I also have an obliterator nearby where I put my surtling cores in (have about 5 bm boxes of those, don't think I need more)
ive converted all my light sources to coal because i hate going for resin
I like both, I m just making a skelly archer greydwarf farm for resin, but some of the mistlands and ashlands lighting options are good and free
is there any advantage to resin light sources
coal, being renewable, seems to be better in every way
Resin is much easier to come by. I have plenty and I don't even have a Greydwarf farm
probably from chopping trees
yea and coal is also used for smelting metals but you rarely ever use resin for anything in late to end game im pretty sure
Sapling trees give resin.
resin is also very renewable from trees and greylings/greydwarves
yeah but you get like 2-3 things of resin per tree and 20 wood
only drawback is you need to process the wood
my grey farm is mostly used for eyes and resin, the stone and wood are just a bonus
im not saying resin isnt easily gotten but with a tree farm you can pull in like 400 pieces of wood very quickly
although it does require chopping a bit
greydwarf farm (mistlands version) gets you 400 resin afk while you're cooking dinner or watch an episode of a tv show
how does a greydwarf farm work
some mistlands spoilers if you want me to explain how I do it
eh nvm ill wait till i get there
but just as info can be made fully afk and I built it in a way that no normal raids can spawn (only 2 player base items present not 3 to trigger a raid) and if a wolf raid where to happen they should technically not be able to path to me to hit me, so should be fully afk (or if have a lucky spawner on an island can just spawnproof it from raids that way too) fully automatic it is
Quick valheim question since I cant find much about it online. Ashlands spoilers ||Do ashlands raids (events) occur in the meadows? If so, is there any biome where you can avoid the raids like the Mistlands ones? On a public server so I cant just turn them off.||
I think they can occur anywhere afaik, not 100% sure, thats what the wiki says anyway
Does anybody else cook indoors? Or am I the only one crazy enough to put this much smoke in my house?
i cook indoors...your house should be ventilated anyways if you are running a fire inside
They do, I even noticed that the ||Surtling raid now included 3 Charred Warriors|| but that was definitely in my meadow's base.
I think if the house is big enough you can disperse the smoke ?
But some sort of chimney is preferable
anyone playing looking for more people?
I did vent it, looks kinda weird though.
Building a stone wall around your base with some workbenches spaced out, and some various workbenches around your base kinda stops the spawning --- but ultimately if you wall your base off and just run outside your base to the edge of the raid circle when it starts, the stuff will spawn near you and won't touch your base
ooooooh... yikes. just very worried about the ||spawner one where the raid drops charred spawners everywhere||
Yeah run to the edge of the raid circle ASAP --- preferably outside of your base --- if you have a wall you'll at least mostly save your buildings, etc.
If you make the house wide enough or tall enough the smoke dissipates and doesn't affect anymore
Rly? that's interesting, ty
so i honestly could just cook in a huge warehouse and i'd be fine
the surtling raid does not contain warriors, that must be a modded thing or something, you can get surtling raid as soon as you kill a surtling and bonemass, how would you defeat warriors in that gear?
I use a hearth with 3 of the hooks dealies on it in one part of my house and basically I just make a "chimney" 2 squares wide right above it in my roof. All the smoke will catch into that space so I just don't build above it
Nope, IDK if it had to do with clearing ||Lord Leto|| or not. But it was just a normal surtling raid at first, then near the end 3 spawned.
Mods I have are Valheim+, Better_Wisps, MassFarming, Spearfishing, ValheimSimpleAutoSort ---- nothing adds new enemies or changes raids
Only 3? that's not nearly enough, more meat for the meat god.
If you don't care much about how it looks, yeah. I'm not 100% sure what the effected area size is when it comes to smoke, but I made mine 10x10x10 with 8 campfires and no vent without any issues
you can't survive on cooking 15 things at a time? Are you feeding an army?!?! XD
Thank you, this helps a lot. I have a nature based sanctuary build with boar, wolves, lox, ||chickens, and Asksvin|| so I reaaaally dont want that destroyed.
well i have never heard about the surtling raid being changed once a miniboss is cleared
if you killed ashlands boss, that could have added spawns..
Oh yea, it was also defeated at that point
it adds nightspawns, independent from the raid
point is, it was ashlands related raid in a Meadows biome
ahh this was it then
yep I believe thats the explanation
same as you get greydwarves in meadows as soon as the Elder is dead
The Hildir related raids are kinda nutty, especially at first. Once you overgear them and know what to pop for them it's not too bad but I'll say the first time that
||4 starred cultists and a cultist boss spawned|| at my base I was definitely sitting there like O_O
I like that there is more variety to the raids now for sure.
That sounds pretty nice! Did your base happen to be connected to all those biomes? How did you get Lox and wolves with the boar? I know chickens and Ashsvin you can take through portals as an egg..
But yeah the stone wall helped me a lot to protect my base (mostly livestock)... you put workbench and stonecutter every so often so you can always instantly repair the wall, build a roof over them as well. Like little stations spaced along the wall
Throw in a couple gates as you see fit and for the most part it just keeps everything out, then as suggested during raid run outside the wall to an edge of the raid circle on your minimap and you'll at least spawn them out there.
Even if you die you'll have the spawned enemies outside your camp πΈ
I found a Meadows with a plains on one side and a mountain on the other! And super grateful for the advice!
Lox and Wolves can be transported, its not easy by any means but not impossible. Chicken and Ask of course super easy just put them in your pocket
anyone know what the rocks that have like 2k health in ashlands is for? and once you "pop" it, it doesn't disappear, used a black metal pick axe (level 4, 1/3 of it's health approx) for 5 minutes and now I can just walk through the rock, dropped no loot...
for pics, I found this thread on steam, im not in-game atm https://steamcommunity.com/app/892970/discussions/0/6369856709164182882/
the morgen trophies sure are tiny compared to the thing we fight, size of a pigglet, pretty sure when I'm meleeing those morgens that mouth is waaaaaaaay larger, but maybe im hallucinating
And then you try to hang that bonemaw trophy ...
OH MY GOD I noticed that if you press down E while opening chest it automatically places the corresponding items from your inventory into it. WHEN WAS THIS ADDED!?
A long time ago.
whats the best way to stop enemies from spawning in your base (that also looks good, ideally)
If you're going for aesthetics, I suppose I'd say to create multiple workyards
do any other items besides workbenches stop spawns?
many base structures do, like forge, torch, campfires, bed, portal, smelter, etc, etc
oh nice i can use torches then
that makes more sense to have scattered around than a bunch of workbenches i think
do they need to be lit to stop spawning?
no, but enemies will attack them, lit or not
i just want to make sure they cant spawn behind my wall
except campfires, they never attack campfires
they wont be able to get to the torches if they dont spawn on that side
yea
Does anyone know when the Morgen artwork was revealed? I saw some concept art on wiki but cannot find the blog post about it
fun fact, there is a quick way to check if any neutral or hostile mob is aware of your presence π
Morgen gjall.
If Swamps are Vietnam, then Ashlands would be literal hell, like Ultrakill levels of violence.
thats what i assumed it is based on the posts ive seen about peoples' experience
i mean people kept complaining about mistlands being too easy after the mobs got nerfed abit so they kinda got what they where asking for π
honestly i love the combat in this game, im all for them making things harder
i am courious how well my spear and dagger playstyle will hold up when i get there
has worked well for me last playthrough (pre ashlands) got 1 game with daggers with my stepdad and a solo with spears
ive heard trying to get your first foothold on the beach there is like normandy lol
ive never even beaten the plains before
so this will all be brand new for me, im just putting the finishing touches on my plains base and ill start heading out and gathering resources/fighting this biome for real
i wiash you good luck then - i love the mountains, plains and mistland so far
especially if you don't rush through it with 180miles/hour then it's much easier to not die
same, this game has just been great biomes all the way through
only biome i disslike is the swamp when you explore it the first time (filled with enemies) and blackforest constant swarms of annoying greydwarfs π
i think the swamps are great because of how brutal they are
the whole biome is just brimming with malice, they did a great job with the atmosphere
yea - but it's still annoying with the perma wet debuff xD
The first time in the swamp was a nightmare but now that we're doing a second playthrough it is so much easier.
my first time to the swamp ended with almost instant death to leech posion along with my step brother, so my step dad had to turn the boat around and go back to get us, as the geniouses we where we had not considered bringing a portal...
no portal is yikes lol
They were scary the first time, I used to get on a indestructible log or a crypt and plinked them with fire arrows till they died.
Now I parry them and knife em to death.
π
Same with wolves, I used to get on a rock and plink em, now I stagger them and knife em.
Though if they get a bite trough and I get staggered it usually is game over for me.
They are so fast.
yea - i also prefere to just throw my spear at them rather than fight them up close (they are 1 shot 1 kill with fully upgraded spear throw)
you can even throw the spear mid jump
I got the Draugr Fang with obsidian arrows and they take care of wolfs pretty good but if there are multiple or "you are being hunted" a knife and an iron buckler works as well as long as you can keep from getting bitten too hard, cough bonemass power cough.
If deadbody is in the middle of deep ashland lava, how do you guys retrieve the items?
Asksvin or basalt bombs.
Cheesy: ||Devcommands, debugmode and fly if you don't care about abusing that.||
So tamed askvin can cross lava without damage? I haven't try
Yes, though the small fire things that shoot out can still hit the asksvin and you, so a staff of protection bubble is recommended for traversing lava.
In case of emergency, the exits are here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, anywhere! Keep your hands and arms inside the bubble at all times.
what does the cclothing icon on a map mean
You found ||Hildir, one of the traders||.
oh dang
are mountains able to found through the coasts
or do i have to get off and venture through a meadows
Mountains can be smack dab against the ocean but it is more frequent to find mountains surrounded by another biome(s).
What mob do Pickaxe type of damage in Ashland ?
So far they can not break my fortress wall . But may be because the wall is not valid target.
Morgen and lava blobs, maybe valks? They shouldnβt be able to break the naturally spawned fortresses though
Does staff of fracturing scale off of elemental magic or is there a new magic like nature magic or something
Elemental
What's fracturing staff good for? They feel like frost staff but weaker
It's really good for the obliterator
They say with the right angle you can launch the magic ball high on the sky and it will rain down small fireball all over the place but may as well just dp the raise ground and bomb the whole fort with fire staff...
Does pretty good fire damage. So against enemies that donβt resist fire it does good damage
It's easy to reach +50 fire damage per second with it
#news message
So does this mean we're getting apples?
no
I was hoping they might fix the bugs on the Linux side before moving to another platform but okay.
#news message
we are getting apple trees in valheim? :)
Ouch. Poor Linux.
Odin's beard, what have I done
more of valheim on apple (devices) π
:( but the promo image clearly shows an apple dangling from a tree in the meadows
If you play Valheim on Linux (at least on X11?) with multiple monitors and open the build menu, your cursor can just fly off to the other screen while you're trying to move around. And then since the cursor is elsewhere, it's not actually doing anything in the game itself.
You can play Valheim on your apple, but you can't play with apples on your Valheim.
For some reason the build menu breaks the cursor being bound to the game..
well we would have to get apple trees first, tho i would not be mad if we did π
gaming on linux is fraught anyway
Does it become irretrievable?
π₯Ί but imagine baking apple pies, it would be soooo cute
It doesn't, but it means you just can't rotate in one direction at all while in the build menu. To go 90 degrees clockwise I'd have to go 270 degrees anti-clockwise. (Or vise-versa)
Viking apple pie
Viking honey drizzled apple
I'm just glad I don't have a triple monitor setup, or I wouldn't be able to rotate any direction. x3
Yeah that'll get real irritating real fast
Nah, it's pretty good. If you don't play PvP games, almost everything works out-the-box. Valheim is actually one of the few games I have which has an issue at all.
(Right now I avoid the problem by launching the game in a Gamescope instance.)
PvP, especially open PvP, I've gotten sick of
Also despite my default audio sink (which is respected by every other app, native or not), Valheim always starts up with its audio coming out of my monitor's speakers. Which is a little weird too.
(Though it looks like that audio sink is the first on the list)
How close to the trader do I need to be, for the icon to appear on the map?
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Haldor
Haldor has 10 possible spawn locations that are located in Black Forests which are at least 1500 meters away from the center of the world. Approaching any of these locations will permanently place Haldor there. This can happen from 320 - 453 meters away (about twice of the default minimap range) when the related zones is generated. When discovered, his bag icon will appear on the world map. π
Thank you! So roughly twice the range of my fog of war discovery range
Don't stretch it
nono, much further, "about twice of the default minimap range" not the "discovery range" π @meager fossil
the devs have listened to me, the only player on mac (me) is finally getting support
Its amazing How many games doesnt have even a console port and Valheim is getting crossplay in ALL sources
Hello chat!
I've got lil question which haunts me for few days already. A couple days ago I've overheard there gonna be new mage robes in Valheim and now i wonder if it'll be added as Ashlands update, or it'll come year-or-so later with Far North? Any clues about the thread here?
there is indeed new mage armor in ashlands π
I mean another new robes, not just that single one.
eh? why would have 1 biome 2 sets of mage clothing?
ΒΏ Why you need more robes from same biome?
@merry pebble Thank you kindly
Deep North probably Will get a new mage armor
Fashion is important!
That dress makes you last longer, and that raspberry baret only adds to it.
Her stuff is in opposite to any known kind of fashion. π
Just my opinion. Those clothes don't fit my style at all.
well plains had the multi coloured capes π€·
that doesent mean that "Her stuff is in opposite to any known kind of fashion." tho...
i think a happy medium might be colour swatches for all armour pieces, something like what v rising did
it's relatively not that difficult to implement, compared to whole new pieces
Please, accept my apologies for the offense. At least it does mean that for me. :3
I can definitely see where you're coming from, I'd rather have fashionable and functional pieces of gear rather than just regular clothes
They would have at least more toned colours. But I'm sure devs did their best to have mostly natural shapes and dyes here.
Can't wait Far North then. Have a nice day folks o/
Valheim drop a huge update like ashlands each year?
Negative, updates like Ashlands take a fairly long time to prepare. There's no set timelines for biome updates, they're ready when they're ready.
Depends a lot. Closer to every 2-3 years I'd say though. And to our knowledge there's only one huge update left
what scarlet said, ashlands, for example, came out about year and a half after mistlands which was last biome update, tho there might be smaller updates inbetween π
i personally have a feeling that the next "big" update isnt gonna be the deep north, more so like a huge quality of life thing and maybe some fixes and stuff and small additions to ALL biomes
I imagine with the introduction of Mac to the releases updates will take longer
Shame thereβs no ps5 version yet or any news of it
the proverbial pesticide and fertalizer?
the porting is not done by iron gate, same as with xbox, it should not delay any development π
maybe, thatd be cool
i more so think that itll be small but meaningful stuff, maybe even a lot of really popular ideas that the community and players recommended in here and on reddit
i meant that in the sense of Pesticide (minor bug fixes) and fertilizer (quality of life improvements and other small stuff)
Maybe another vendor?
ohh okay i thought u meant farming lol, but yea thats what i meant. we need a lot of smaller stuff, in all biomes (yes even ashlands) to make our lives a little bit less annoying
i definitely think we could benefit from one or even two more
the annoying is part of the fun, but i would like some more stuff with the functionality level of the snapping tool, perhaps something to help center stuff on tiles
right. i dont mean huge fundamental changes, but stuff like cauldron tweaks, a better hammer, better cultivator, balance changes to certain things, more traders, maybe an option to have vanity armor over ur main armor, hide ur helmet while still having it on, etc
I just want armor slots separate from my inventory
Not happening.
those last two are a bit far feched i think, but the rest is cool. i would like another trader just for stuff after you have bought everything from the other two
also ive seen this before, a seperate bag/inventory space to put ur armor and food and stuff in so it doesnt clog up space. also maybe like coloring armor, also being able to unlock somethign to use multiple of the special items (like belt and wisplight)
Mods will be your friend then
perhaps he could use the merchant boat
yea obviously its up for debate and opinion based, those are just some stuff i know i think would be cool and ive seen other people talk about. you get the idea
eh im not really a mods guy. and not every player and all platforms has access to those mods. its not just about me, because if i wanted yes i could use mods. but what about the players who cant or just dont want to?
small stuff like that should be added (in my opinion ofc) just to better the lives of all players and not take away any fun
the game is in early access now, ask yourself if are these things necessary for the game to reach "completion"/1.0, or can be just patched in later
I wouldn't expect much more than bug fixes after 1.0.
bug fixes and QoL
so not content
i never said theyre needed for completion. i just said that i believe they should be added eventually, and that me and many people would prefer it before 1.0 , especially since a lot of it shouldnt be too difficult on the devs part (i could be wrong though of course and feel free to correct me)
i dont expect anything, but for a game like valheim i think a 1.1 may come along after a year or so
Well, I wouldn't hold your breath from what Smiffe has said.
That's how a game dies if you just skiadadle after version 1 is patched out it will get stale and then it will die
that's normal
Dies? How can it die? It's not a live service game.
you can't expect the devs to keep a game updated forever
It's not great
they deliver a complete product
It's absolutely fine.
Forever no but a couple versions would be cool
it's cool, but not something you should expect
Valheim is an exception to the early access model, and I'm so bored of seeing this rationale. Early access games release an entire world that requires some additional content, fixes, tweaks, and detail. That is not Valheim. Valheim releases biome by biome, complete. Then they proclaim that the game is still early access because it's not the devs intended end-game. Valheim is more akin to a DLC expansion than it is to an ongoing early access.
In what conceivable way?
game is not complete start to finish = early access
just because they do it in order doesn't mean it's not
I disagree look at any successful moderin game there all updated post full release
early access doesn't mean the game is inherently broken or unfinished throughout
When the finish is arbitrary, early-access is a cop-out.
you didn't disprove my point
This game is ALREADY successful, what happens after 1.0 makes no difference.
Arbitrary? We've known how many biomes were coming since day one.
I didn't make it. The burden of proof is on you.
Not to the standard of most games today
What? Don't be stupid.
I wouldn't say most games get many post-launch updates
Settle down y'all
It's already sold over 15 million copies. That is SUCCESSFUL.
is there a building channel?
Many do and those are the beloved household titles look at how much everyone hated battlefront 2 the updated it like 3 times and abandoned it
Battlefront is a completely different type of game.
A whole lot of finished games from big companies often time feel like early access games with how many patches they need for it to finally work like it should have from the start.
this game is a breath of fresh air with all the live service forever game slop on the market right now. the only reason its getting updates is because its literally still in development
do you guys find farming sap for food also a hassle?
only if I have to go out of my way to get it, usually i just stop by the sap collectors every now and then to get some more
it's manageable - find groups of roots near each other and place a portal near it, so you just pop in, collect and leave
ideally place wisp torches and campfires around to clear the mist and spawnproof
Everything is a hassle; it's a survival game. The grind is embedded in the intent.
just a hassle lol
abuse portals for every task, it saves a ton of time
do you guys move em around?
Not really last playthrough I set up a sap portal round, I had a portal in base that led to the first extractor, there was a portal to the 2nd extractor and so on till I visited all 5 and there was a portal back to base, so I waited a while and collected 50 in one go.
portals or the extractors?
ive found a spot with like 4 overlaying roots and its all i need really
afaik the regeneration rate is fixed regardless of whether it's tapped
so ideally tap all you can find and just wait it out
annoying to cut finewood tho
suffering through the day so i can add more unnecessary rafters to my Harot tonight!
When needed, with a portal nearby it doesn't really matter where I put them.
farm birches, use the elder buff for cutting
Um did i do something?
Sorry if i made u feel bad or something didnt mean to
you asked "howare u all", did i misinterpret the meaning of this?
Sorrryyyyy
dont be, my mistake for misjudging
Once you get a few oak or birch tree seeds you can start a tree avalanche farm.
fav way to get iron endgame?
I was stupid last night and didn't check my rest timer before facing a Gjall. Now my grave is in a weird spot in the Mistlands and I'm stuck at work
Sploding swords or deconstructing dvergr bridges.
swamps, draugrs get wrecked at ease
Swamps via portal or riding my lox
Do I have to ride your lox or can I ride mine?
Obvi we will put the double saddle on brother
wish i could tame a gjal and build a small carriage on top of it or under.
Under would be kinda gross
I thought you could tame vultures, I was so sad we couldnβt lol
free protein dispenser
Why does everyone want to turn a Gjall into the Hindenburg?
Like that giant bird on ark man
its speed matches that of hinderburg, so does its flames
Too soon.
I'd do that to reenact the Hinderburg disaster, gjalls deserve it.
When Gjall Hindenburg event?
As a mount they'd be slow af. As a war vessel they'd be OP.
mobile outpost
maybe we could stuff a gjall with explosive payloads and send it on a kamikaze mission into a fortress
with a balistae on top
And a portal in the cabin
I support this
since it spat fire, its warm near it, comfort max
Has anyone tried to lure a gjall down to the ashlands?
you can go inside too, warm + wet though
That would be fun to watch (until an archer one-taps it)
sounds like a jacuzzi
Oh hell yeh. I'm totally down for a harnessed Gjall that provides comfort levels.
giant gjall couch?
basically
An OOOUUUGGGH-toman?
Giant gjall tick bag.
you dock your gjall near the top of a jagged rock in mistlands
can you tickle the gjall at the bottom parts
it gets tickly if you wear the feather cap & starts shaking
yeah, it'll shake and damage structures around itself when "interacted with"
i wonder if you can just take a tick out and eat it if youre hungry, like an apple tree
I propose: a Gjall egg purchaseable at Haldor for 10k gold. Can't be bred, takes some time to raise, but can be used as a mobile platform with a ladder
images of monster hunter guy eating a well done steak
That sounds like it requires a full-arm rubber glove.
what do gjall eat?
"SSOOOOO TASTY"
You
a pair of giant tweezers
A good roast when it is nice weather outside.
Other things I won't mention in polite company.
dverger on toast, poached dverger, fried dverger...
I would posit that they're herbivore/insectivore. Floating around taking the good leaves from various canopies and indulging in the bonus of ingesting any number of insects that happened to be resting on the consumed leaves.
dvergr beard cape
I imagine they prefer most things boiled and corroded
do tamed wolves attack tamed boars?
nope
ok ty
Are you suggesting that the Gjall venture into the plains, harvest barley, mill it, bake it into bread, then come back and smear Dvergr all over it?
dverger sandwiches with cloudberry jam
ew wtf
Cloudberry jam actually sounds nice
egg & dverger beard omelet
Why would you want to eat hair?!
I think the g'jall sends out ticks to suck blood from other living creatures for itself.
its a gjall thing
do the ticks grow into seekers or more gjall
Ticks are gjall babies
There's a whole bunch of ideas here that have clearly not been thought through.
maybe gjalls liked giant blood or brain
How do gjalls make that horrifying inception horn
This is interesting. Tell me how ticks manage to 'inflate' themselves into gjall form.
that`s a fart
football pump
I don't think a tick is a baby form of G'jall. I think it's just another creature entirely that it houses.
Hans Zimmer is the Dr Frankenstein of gjalls.
Good luck with that. I've inflated a car tyre with a football pump and it was not a fun time.
only takes about 6h
Pretty close, yes.
I would assume a tick is one of their non-breeding offspring. It serves as a soldier. The Gjall is like their queen.
Quick side bar - WTF problem have y'all got with using the goddamn reply function?!
gjalls are oversized magically fat ticks full of giant blood from bygone times
That't why all the jotuns are skeletons now
Where are you from where blood floats?
That makes sense actually, and I still believe that they only consume blood through the ticks.
images of Popeye
Valheim
I look forward to the flying Leeches.
Maybe the jotun blood floated to help support their weight?
Giant i hope
at one point we saw some concept art of the leeches "standing up" and opening up like res evil zombies
Me too. More bloodbags for me.
Cool. That seems important in Pride Month. Did they fly though?
do 2-star wild tame still run away and despawn at dawn ?
if they're tame then no, they won't.
A starred wolf will despawn at day until taming starts
i remember year ago the 2 star wild tame would run away and despawn ==
the 2 star has to have begun eating before dawn to prevent it trying to run off and depsawn
but you can simply wait in the area until the next night and it will eat again
A starred wolf will despawn at dawn if the taming hasn't started or if you go out of render range if I'm not mistaken.
and in the past you would have to breed it with your normal wolf to get a baby 2 star before the wild one despawn , have they changed it ?
I am gonna try taming the 2 star ashvkin , hope the egg not bugged
at that point neither wolf would be wild anymore, but it's the same process, 50% chance for the 2 star to become pregnant
Yeah once tamed, no despawn happens.
That's what she said.
No, that's what I said.
If you're a she, I stand corrected.
I'm a he and you still stand corrected then, no?
No. You and She both said it.
i'm not 100% certain she would say that
All of this he said she said doesn't address the real question
I'm also doubting the veracity of that statement.
The real question is still being calculated, the answer might be forty two though.
Of course it is
I love this game and I love the devs and I wish I could feed them cloud berries so there could be more of them π₯Ί
Why don't you?
Forty-two is the right answer to a very specific question. For it to be the correct answer in any other context would be close to a probabilistic~~ certainty~~ (edit: that's wrong... it near impossible; I got that totally backwards :P).
Why no cloudberry emoji?
42 is the answer to "everything"
How old are you?
and may or may not have been the answer i gave my dad when he asked for the cars registration number lmao
42, or am i?
Mmmhmm.
42 is the answer to the universe but not everything. Like what's the meaning of life? 42. What's 2+3? 5.
The meaning of life is 'tea for two'. The rest is conjecture.
I'm curious how far a lox can swim. Besides 42 i mean
Lol ... i managed to fail the stone pillar manouvre to save myself from the wolf hunt
But this time I used loxes
Lox > unstarred Wolves
wtf a ashlands spawner just randomly appeared infront of my base??
However, my lox gave 0 f**ks when a wild lox aggroed me
until it runs out of stam, which you'd think would be a long way, but it's actually not very far at all
this is how they do the raids! they circle like 6-7 spawners.
That was my experience. I just tried to cross a river and it was nooooot happy
what food to tame charred warlock?
Vikings
Has there been any word on what the devs are working on next?
Yes: Content on the game
does every dwarf tower have the same loot?
Π‘ΡΡΡ
every inhabited dvergr tower should have an component crate with extractor iirc
so no need to go into more than just one?
if gjall destroyed the tower and you left area, possibly extractor & items to dissapear
you will want more extractors π so go explore a bit
ive been in a tower, some dungeon with ticks, am i ready for the boss
Have you crafted the Sealbreaker yet?
no not yet lol, and im still using padded armor π¦
Well, I don't think you're ready yet.
Which tower are you referring to?
My guess:
An old Dverger tower with an infested mine under it.
Awesome! Let's hear from the original poster...
moose
Yessum?
I think I misunderstood that colloquialism, my apologies. I meant to offer the equivalent of "How may I help you?".
how many different dungeon types does mistlands have
I guess that makes sense. I just figured they were sitting around staring at the ceiling.
They have a game to finish so certainly not
Juat had a maypole spawn in newly planted garden at our base. Haven't had this happen before in 300+ hours in game. Is this new?\
Maypoles dont spawn like that.
is it worth it to venture in frost caves? im not interested in getting fenris items
Er... you can build maypoles during June I believe?
they are pretty cool, you can get crystals and red jute for carpets and banners
Do 1 star morgens actually exist? I've never seen one
Oh yes, and 2 star.
Nope. Playing co-op on server. No console commands. Didn't actively do anything. Returned to base and there it was.
There's two types of designs for the outside of the dungeon (staircase leading into cave, and basement of dvergr outpost ruin). The inside is modular though so there can be many, many different types of combinations
probably just another person built it there
You can build maypoles in the summer
My preceding post was responding to a post, which was apparently deleted, regarding backdating or using console commands.
There's no need for console commands to currently create maypoles.
Two players on server and neither of us built it . No mods installed. so can't access devcommands on server. Guess it was just a pleasant glitch.
The game doesn't glitch like that. The more likely alternative is that someone is not telling the truth. But go build more during your window to do so here, they add comfort π
Are Ashlands the hardest biome currently??
yep, i would say so
I agree
Ash is also the last Biome, currently
So it goes like meadows, black forest, swamps, mountain, plains, mistlands and ashlands?
yes π that is the progression so far
Yeah haven't played in a year and starting a whole new world so i missed a lot i think
Alright thank you for the help guys, very appreciated

We didn't build it, but I checked build menu and found maypole is now in "Furniture". A June thing? Still don't how it got there. Both of use just returned fro exploring and found it.
Some seeds still have maypoles no?
They do, but they never randomly appear in an area they previously weren't.
yep
how does the flametal armor's heat buff compare to other heat buff sources?
Ohhh. It just popped up where it once wasn't? Missed that part π
Your friend literally built it.
Is there a way to access a world if the host isn't available to play?
A dedicated server is the only way to do that, which takes some skill and hardware to run, or some money to rent.
You're absolutely correct! My friend just texted to let me know he put it there before we left on the boat. How embarrassing!
Ah that definitely sounds complicated, probably not available on console either?
Thanks a lot for the help
You can run a dedicated server on a PC and connect to it with a console, but no, you cannot host one on a console.
I'll look more into that, thank you once again
Is there a limit to how many chicken can be in a space at once?
I recall something about this with Lox
i didnt realize how useful and accessible the resting bonus was for being in the field
Overall limit, no. Limit before they stop laying eggs, yes. You can drop 100 eggs in a super small place and they will hatch, but you can only have like 5 chickens in a 4m square space before they stop laying, or something along those lines
ABR: Always Be Rested. It's huge for every action you take, even more so when adventuring.
is there anywhere these numbers are listed? I'd like to better understand.... when to cull how much space etc etc
i mean the active resting bonus, not the rested bonus
I have a 5x5 coop and it seems like there have just outright stopped at ~20 chickens
Kinda surprised they have not dropped a patch. It's been a bit, and ones in ptb
like sitting next to a fire, huge bonus to stam and health regen, and all i need is a campfire
i have always been adventuring with the rested bonus ofc
Is there anywhere that the details are listed? Wiki is null on this stuff and I'm wondering what my animal limit will be in a 3x3, 5x5, 7x7 etc.
If I go above a 3x3 then 1 campfire isn't big enough to cover the entire coop
No hard numbers, but your numbers eem about right: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Taming?so=search#Breeding
That said, I often use hanging braziers because they're easier to manage than campfires and are safer for the chickens, leave a bit more floor space, etc.
Oh that's an interesting idea
I had a little 1x1 for the campfire on a side of the 5x5 with iron bars in front of it so the chicken can't get to it
Question: Is it pronounced Cara PACE or Cara Pass
care - a - pace
Thanks
I was watching SpazzyGames and I got scared I was pronouncing it wrong the whole time
Because he prounounces it care - a - pass
well he sounds like a goobus
and now you dont sound like a goobus
you sound like a sophisticated english upper crust debutante who pronounces things correctly now
I prounounce Asksvin, ask - a - vin
i read it like that but now im realizing it should just be like asks - vin(disel a question)
ill probably still read it with the extra A in there since thats a lot of SKSKS consonants
yeah
i always wonder how words like that get made, it cant be the easiest noise to make when describing something
like is this viking choking on something or telling me there is a lizard nearby
axevin
someone from brasil can help me with the game?
digging down to the water level makes it all drain under that
i tried that
its still around, just now its sitting at water level and still capturing items that are dropped into it
without looking i'd say you didn't drain it properly somehow :p
i can post it in screenshots
ok its in there, i pinged the wrong meow though lol
@strange arrow post in here, that other channel has a 40s CD
sure
i want it gone completely though, since that essentially drains to water level and the water in the screenshot is basically my moat
and unfortunately, it being my moat, means lots of enemies get killed in there
meaning there are lots of items that get stuck in there
i thought it does essentially vanish once it's completely underwater, it could persist though i never really looked
Man I love tar moats. Once you unlock|| staff of embers or fracturing,|| it's big time damage
nah its annoying af and its still there
but if there's some above water level that will catch stuff
yes but ive kinda avoided digging this out because then it "infects" the moat more
i recently dug this out from the upper pit because some stuff got caught in there, but its essentially kicking the can down the road
eventually things will get stuck in the moat and i cant dig it out
forcedelete may remove it, unsure
so is there any way to get rid of the entire thing completely? console command of some kind?
i wish it would actually destroy the tar layer if you dig it out sufficiently
it was nice when i was building my base but now its annoying
oh thank god...forcedelete 10 tarliquid got rid of it
idk why that was a super low response on a reddit post but it works perfectly
such a beautiful game
im constantly amazed at how good this looks
so uh, dont put the obliterator at the bottom of your tower base...i thought the damage it did was only in a radius of the object itself
i was thinking it would look cool to have the lightning strike the top of the tower visually, and it would do no aoe damage to the stone at the base
turns out it is in fact not a visual lightning strike
Get on top of the obliterator and hold out your sword when obliterating something to be blessed by thor
Fun fact is that the obliterator doesn't hurt black marble, so once you get that you can do what you want π
if you make a tower from black marble it should work π
no way am i rebuilding anything on this
XD oh, you were quicker Pita
the build is huge and took days already lol
All the more reason to add to it and rebuild it. Half of my bases look like Howl's Moving Castle π
Valheim no builds update soon
weird update name
hello
I have a blast furnace that seems kind of shy
is this a common issue? I look at it, it stops working.
I look away, it starts working again for a few seconds. I come back, it turns off
Make sure it can vent its smoke. It'll turn off if the smoke builds up above it
make a good roof and add a 2x4 then an over lapping roof.. helps with big builds and a lot of crafting
Or don't make a roof and it'll work
how much time tame boar
30 minutes. But you must stay nearby and the boar must not be alerted.
If you don't stay nearby it pauses until you're nearby again
ty
and make sure you left it plenty of food
best way to farm chains?
Run around in the swamp at night. Frostner or a silver sword and a shield makes them easy pickings.
oh thats right, the wraiths
do they spawn randomly or congregate around specific things?
They have one-time spawns in some disused buildings that they can appear in, but otherwise it's random and only at night. The more things you kill the more chances you have for a wraith to be the replacement spawn in the area.
then i will go to the swamp and devastate the area. thanks for the info
do surtlings js not spawn right infront of u or does it take a bit for them to spawn again
takes like 15 minutes i think for the spawn to reset
idk if you can be in front of it while it does that, someone else might know
oh dang
They take 5 minutes to respawn, and you can't have a campfire or workbench or something too near or they neve spawn. You can't put the fire out by digging though, so I often dig a pit around them so they die in the water instantly π
use a hoe to flatten the ground so its juuuust covered by water, doesnt need to be deep at all
I personally like it deep with steep walls so they can't run very far, keep the collection of the materials closer to the spot. But whatever works π
takes 4 ticks to kill them, they dont get far as is lol
so just digging the ground under them will be fine?
yeah any level of water contact starts killing them rapidly
so they just insta fall iinto the water, or do they need a surface
any contact, can be barely reaching your boots. if you are getting the splashing effect while walking, that surface will kill them
doesnt need to be waist level or swimming or anything
no i mean, do they spawn if there is no surface without water to spawn in
yes, they will always spawn provided you dont have a player base object near them
Yeah. They spawn on land or the water, all right around the fire.
oh okay
thats why its nice to level the water near them, so they spawn and basically instantly die
got it, thank u guys
its a hard life being a surtling in valheim
I think that was the issue
I had a hearth and the furnace sharing one chimney
Not necessarily, most of the time they just spawn in water and die instantly
Oo content?
"begone FPS imps!"
life of a surtling:
"I HAVE ARRIVED!"
looks down at half inch of water
"oh no"
Ya know what would be a neat effect? It's wholly useless and adds zero functionality but it would be cool...
If when you walked up to a portal and it started it's firey thing, it would show you a kinda blurry view of what's on the other side of the portal. It would probably be a decent FPS hit and it's totally useless but would look super cool.
I want to be able to piss on my fire that I accidentally added wood to
Since we defeated the queen i started going to bed to skip the nights. Seekers are just too annoying
I'm way too lazy to find a bed every nighttime come around but the Ashlands level of darkness (black mobs on black background) has made me consider it
Just wait til you defeat the boss and have Ashland mobs spawn at night, messing up your meadows base... I go sleep
Ah man
I didnt set foot into ashlands yet, waiting to gather the whole party. Have only killed two of the ashlands watersnakes
It's tough, we were lucky though. Landed right next to a cave we could hide in
π€ the sound of a chicken eating is the same as a boar eating?
Yeah I guess it's hard to overestimate the brutalness of the ashlands
Say, you want to set up a portal, nice protected home in a Ashlands Fortress.. How does one stop a Fallen Valkyrie spawning randomly above it, flying down and then just destroying everything - asking for a friend...
I have no clue, but could you spawn proof it?
That'd stop its brutal aggro and onslaught you think? the work tables around the area have done little to stop it thus far.
Walked through my stone portal - and there it was, flying in to bombard the place - needless to say no portal anymore.
is there a way to paste external fonts or make the writing white on a sign
you can copy paste from for example notepad
I imagine the spawn proofing goes all the way up so you may need a wider area
you can set the color with <#fff> to white
I thought they fixed the signs on texts so you couldnβt change their colors anymore
Or was that just glowing signs
they removed the bright glowing some time ago
Berserkir axes are really fun & good, hope there are more weapons eventually added especially earlier in the game --- still feel a little restricted with how good sword is all game vs anything else.
Mace is actually kinda solid through the swamp but Sword is just dominantly good all game.
i write that in valheim or notepad
CRAFTING MATERIALS<#fff> so i just paste that? cuz if so it doesnt work for me
no the tag goes before the text you want to color
<#fff>This is white<#f00>This is red
the #fff is hex code, a standard for writing colors when making websites. #fff is actually shorthand for #ffffff.
easiest is to do a websearch for colorpicker
but the format is that its red, green and blue mixed, and the values range from 0 to 9 and then continue with A to F. And then its two of those for each color. so #FF0000 is maximum red, no green, no blue. #0088FF is no red, 50% green and 100% blue mixed. And then to save on the amount of characters you can use the shorthand version where you only use one digit per color, which gets interpreted as 2 times the same digit for that color.
Yeah that might have been confusing, feel free to ask if you want to know more...
you can also write <color=red> but that uses so much more characters
I actually didn't know you could do #fff, I've always done <#ffffff>
<color=white>food
Also can copy paste emojis to it
4 nights in the swamp, 0 wraiths. WHERE ARE THE WRAITHS
the trick to finding things in the swamp is to not want to find them
So true. You really have to move around all the time to find them if you are looking for them
not all emojis work i believe, but many do.
did you know that you can add 2 more digits to also controll opacity? I dont remember if it had effect in valheim though π€
Go fight something else in the swamp at night, at the most inconvenient time you will be swarmed by wraiths
And then when actually looking for them practically none exist.
Yeah I use a sword, shield, arrows, and skull n bones for a few signs
<voffset=20> is also fun, it moves the text vertically, even beyond the sign. Combine it with <size=50> and you can make huge signs. Only problem is that it starts adding linebreaks, so for best effect just use it with one emoji. For example <voffset=50><size=50>π
This is Valheim in a nutshell
I went looking for dwarves and spawners in the black forest to collect a couple stacks of eyes the other night
Every other time I'd have had what I needed in 10 minutes
thats right, was looking for coal and got 3 wraiths lol
I don't know how the devs figured out mind-reading, but it's pretty impressive
set Spawn to Player.Intent*-1
i love a well organized base
ive been living out of a box for the longest time while i built my magnum opus
now its all perfect, and i love it
Does negative offsets move it up?
Whaaaaat you can make Vegas-like signs
And they can be seen from a LONG distance away
I have 36 refined eitr, and I have a full set of level 2 carapace armor and weapons. And I just found a jotun skull. What do I spend the refined eitr on?
magic staves are OP, if you're into that
Feather cape is nice
Could always upgrade your weapons
Feather cape is always the first thing I build with eitr. I can't believe anyone does anything else π
Feather cape is always what I use eitr for first
i go with the buckler personally
are flesh rippers good for plains biome?
although, the new feather cape mods are insane for the mist
with fenris armor
first thing I make with eitr is always the Galdr table
Yes
does valheim on mac mean apple silicon support?
I'm usually bombing around in fenris, maybe with a root harnesk, so the feather cape is more useful. Can't kill what you can't hit π
Oh, my weapons and armor are upgraded, yep, and I have a feather cape
Alright, which magic weapons do I go for? I think I'll go for the fire one first since I hear the Queen is weak to fire
i'm also playing on hard difficulty usually though, so parrying without the buckler in the mist is a lot tougher
I'd presume so. Unity has supported Apple Silicon for a bit.
do yall know how to convince other people to play valheim? All my friends keep saying the gameplay loop is boring and idk how to get them to play with meπ
In my own experiences, the real hassle is getting all the paperwork for Apple's Notarization / Secure Signing process approved.
If you're going to build just one, then the fire staff. All of them have their niches, though.
is it through steam? iβve never really played any games on mac
have they played it themselves or what
Good question! I'd presume so.
bubble staff is a good one
they played for an hour lol
Some games just aren't for everyone π
hardly enough to judge it
exactly but they won't budge
Do they like any other survival games?
the normal gameplay loop is pretty much one and done unless you want to repeat it and learn more stuff, but the building is where we can spend infinite time in this game. if they're into building, their gameplay loop is infinite.
then idk if you can convince them, some people just dont like the pace
Ask if theyβll play with an increased resource rate world modifier
also, some people just don't like this style of game, it's not for everybody
they might actually do that thanks
I wouldn't go over 2x to start, just because the inventory management starts getting stupid at that point. IMO.
Tell them it is similar to Minecraft and Dark souls but with Norse mythos. If that peaks their interest, that's a start. It is slow to start and can be grindy if harvesting resource isn't your thing, but world modifiers and devcommands can help take some of that grind down a notch or 2.
I always say Valheim is best enjoyed with 2 or more friends.
But even solo I play at 1.5x because I can't be arsed to grind that much
It's decent as a buddy adventure but it really shines with more players and the hijinks that ensue.
thank you
Solo I play with 3x but I think I'm gonna get a mod to make just ore be 3x.
I was debating a scaling mod for multiplayer that would drop more resources if more players are nearby
Likely one exists already, I should check again.
Really to get your friends to play - they have to like games where cooperation is emphasized. There isn't much PVP action in Valheim by default so the game tends to favor situations where you're working together.
Also the first word that's not "Valheim" or an article of speech in the game's official description is "brutal"
People who are more prone to laughing and saying "Those diabolical c***suckers..." when they die in Mario as opposed to throwing the controller tend to also have more fun in this game.
I just presume everyone plays Mario cuz I'm old.
Same reason I mention dark souls and Minecraft. They are fairly commonly known.
Thank you very much. Fire staff it shall be then. I guess I should also craft and upgrade the mage robes as well
I don't remember where I read it but I swear one of the devs had recommended "craft 1 of everything just to see what happens" and this feels like solid advice.
so I moved from windows to linux idk if that has anything to do with it but when I loaded my games they all load to some random unexplored map. the same map. all my saves. no mods. I tried to reload old saves but it doesn't seem to make a difference. any idea's?
like the world doesnt match the map being shown?
yes
or the world and the map are both the same, they are just both wrong
clear your cached map data (if its option #1)
IIRC map exploration is stored in the character file
both wrong
oh both wrong idk, sorry
Your player has the right inventory?
yes
And the worlds themselves show in your list of existing worlds? (I know this is a kinda obvious question but I want to eliminate potential causes)
yes all the saves show right
when I loaded my games they all load to some random unexplored map. the same map.
And this is exactly as it reads? That no matter which world you load, it's the same map?
yes
WEait - did you move your server from Windows to Linux or did you move a single player game from Windows to Linux?
single player game
The "they all load the same world" thing is odd.
yeah super odd. thats why i can't seem to find anything online to help
The first time you copy the file from Windows and load the world - does the Player.log say anything?
I don't have my windows computer up. i switched to linux
I played on my steamdeck no problem I figured it would be no problem with garuda linux aswell
and yes my steamdeck now has the same issue
Have you hit any old Romanian ladies with your car or something? Strange ancient curse is my leading theory.
something lol
My actual theory involves file permissions or file case sensitivity in the file copy but the "the other worlds all load the same seed" thing is really throwing me
Or garuda is looking for the files in a different place
same
idk my next step i guess is to get my windows computer up and running when i can get a power supply and see if the saves are fine on there.?
That would be my move.
I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful
do items despawn when dropped on death?
np thanks for ur time anyhow
Loose items will desoawn if they are outside of a workbench radius. Items in gravestones remain forever.
I think loose items also despawn if they're under water?
nice i died at the swamps i did not expect to be jumped by 50 goos
if i sail back i should expect my stuff to be there?
Oh yeah new players die in the swamps a lot.
Do you see the Skull n Crossbones on your map?
yes
You'll be able to see your headstone from a decent distance away, it has a bit of a red glow.
oh well ill set up base near the swamps
You'll do best to go in the daytime.
then go and take back my shit
That's the spirit. Go get 'em.
and you can have many gravestones at any given time
Bring poison resistance!
or put on root mask great headpiece for swamp
best way to move tamed boars? like, a long ways
Either harpoon 'em or a bait trail.
Does "long ways" require a sea journey?
yes, probably
I've never done it successfully myself.
Over land yes but not over sea
do they not get on boats?
They tend to jump into the ocean when aggro'd
I was able to get a dwarf in my ship but after a minute it just pushed threw my ship and swam back to home lol
im guessing i need to tame it on-site then ill try to move them from there
I'd love if we could give gold to the dwarves and hire them temporarily
that would be so dope! love it
That's what I've had to do. I hear some new Ashlands items might make some of that possible by providing a boat they can't jump off but I haven't confirmed that.
They carry gold so obviously they collect the stuff
so taming first then getting them on the boat did work for you?
No I've tried ... maybe 6 times? And every time ran into a serpent and the boars abandoned ship so I just gave up.
because my main base is far enough south that i doubt i can get a meadows connected to it...technically i havent explored ALL the area aaround it but its highly unlikely i have meadows attached on the ground
ah yeah, serpent aggro...i guess if i stay near the shores...
I ended up building a boar tower where I found/tamed them and just built a nearby portal that I put in my kitchen.
Then if I needed boar meat, I'd just go into the boar closet and emerge with several stacks of meat.
yeah but i need boar in my main base pen for
a e s t h e t i c s
yes Every time i tried to drag something on the boat a serpent aggro'd them as well
how long does it usually take to complete 1 biome in valheim
I think each biome takes progressively longer
As far as time requirements. You can take whatever time ya want.
don't think so, Bronze seems to take the longest for me
would be nice. I guess you could just make multiple runs on the ship untill you've killed all the serpents to have a successful run
serpents dont spawn near the shores right? only in ocean biome?
oh they do
I've had them spawn near to shores
In fact the first one I ever saw was near a black forest shore. I was bringing the boat over to our new base and asked my friend "Hey, are there sea monsters in this game?" and he said "Yes but you won't see any" and I said "Are they big and red and blue and angry?" and he said "Oh yeah that's probably a serpent."
lol thats usually how new enemies get discovered
for me, usually proceeded by gruesome death shortly after
We mounted a bitchin serpent trophy over the mantle that night and would have dined on serpent but we had not found iron yet.
The sea monster trophies are the best in the game.
yeah do look pretty sic
I like wraith trophies
The wraith trophies are cool cuz you can combine them with other trophies and give them "bodies"
From 1-200 hours
yes! i did on my first world I combined it with seeker trophy and put a blue torch somewhere around it so it glowed more
You can take your time and make it 2-200 hours instead
Leviathan trophy when
Are there any new mounts? Without spoilers if there is please
not sure how someone could respond to that
Just a yes or a no π€£
Thanks a lot π€
i got a special way tgo spoil
anyway isnt a true spoiler i think
||mutant sized necks||
Honestly, people shouldn't be here or any other public space where content in the game is actively being discussed if they don't want spoilers, because they are naturally going to get spoiled in no time.
Do yall support the suggestion of a lox carriage
That way you can fit chests into the carriage and sit multiple players, bascially similar to the boat but for land
Mounts arent that useful
But Lox really need some transport system
Like chests or some time of bag
Right, a carriage that's pulled by a Lox would be perfect
A carriage that can have it's own storage or just hold chests, then it can be pulled by a lox and driven/steered by a player. The Lox can/cannot still sprint idc but I think a ground transporation system is needed for multiple players and storage
If we could actually attacks while riding Lox or asks
Or make they attack itself like ark
I mean, in ocean we rarely need fight, while on land we get constant attacked by random mobs while riding
im tired of all the olive oil dumped on flametal nodes
I wish I didn't know what you meant
Every single idea should be automatically and completely discarded if there is a "like in Ark" or "from Ark" somewhere in the same sentence
Holy shit I forgot just how fun magic can be
I can't wait to craft the frost staff, it was so great launching a machine gun barrage against gjalls' underbellies
||that will wreck your shit with a headbutt||
whats the best weapon for the mountains
I used a dagger all the way up to the ashlands then switched to magic
my dagger was like 60+ in skill tho probably 40+ by the time i did mountains
i parry a lot tho makes a huge difference
Just heard the news about Mac support. This mean I can finally play the game with my friends that only have Mac? Cross play means I can be on PC he on Mac right?
sounds good, idk tho thats above my paygrade
Do yall like the idea of a Lox carriage?
I put it in the suggestions but idk what the recycle symbol means
idk, i guess it would be neat but idc either way. I think means someone suggested it already and ppl will vote up the recycle
or thumbs up if they really like the idea still
Is there any other way to make a pen or do I gotta use the fences? Like can I lock him in a small half wall pen or does it NEED to be those pen fences
it can pretty much be anything. Fences, walls, half walls, stake walls, hell you could probably put up a bunch of torches or workbenches or something in a circle and that would do the job
Well maybe not torches and workbenches because mobs tend to agro to those, but you get the idea
I tried walls with pillars on the corners but the pig wouldn't go in
Tames must be completely closed off
Nothing to do with what you're building out of. They'll generally try to get to you if they have a clear path, so if you're standing on the ground inside the enclosure and there's an open side, they should run up to you to attack. When they do, close off the last side where they came in so they can't get out again.
Usually a bit hard to do if the enclosure is super tiny, so maybe make it bigger
Can anyone say what are the best boss abilities we unlock? Without mentioning what they do
Bonemass boss
Moder
lol
Bonemass is usually seen as the best one, trivializing large parts of the game. Eikthyr is a fan favorite too though. I'd say those are the main ones people really like
Thank you so much
can't live without Moder
Up until bonemass is what i unlocked and those 2 definitely come in handy, was just curious if the late bosses had anything more interesting, thank you
The late bosses definitely have some interesting stuff, but not necessarily super good stuff
Moder is more convenient than best one imo
The new one seems like it could be pretty fun, not sure how it would compare to the others in a real combat type scenario though
Stacking the new one with some armors/capes giving similar effects is really fun
Is the ask armor set worth it?
Yes it's very good
Its ability seems good but its armor is 8 less then carapace
It's a tradeoff, set bonus for less armor
but it has no movement speed reduction
So Id have to run more often then push fights?
it depends on your fighting style preference
I prefer bows and knives.
Guys is it a a right thing that the Asksvin cloak only provides resistant to frost and not the heat/fire of the biome?! I mean it should either be both or resistant to heat
Personally, I use ask armor and then have a tower shield to use if I need to mitigate damage/regain stamina. But it is much easier to run jump and move around in the ask set and the stamina reduction on attacking is very nice
But yes you are more squishy
I started with full flametal but kept running out of stam which is what led me to enjoy the ask set the best
I only use the cloak on body runs. I use ask armor and then ashen cape for regular combat
I'm still using mistlands... heck getting asksvins hide and flametal are too difficult
Then you're giving up on the ashlands then because the new gear is really needed there. Just do bonemass excursions. Go out, pop bonemass when needed and leave when its gone
I use the feather cape currently due to the jumps
xD but it existed pre-ashalands though...
that's the recipe... other than that is a map full of deaths... btw I'm leveling up my skills backwards....
the No skill drain should be 20 minutes if happened on the biome, though...
For the Askvin hide,|| I got a crapton once I started taming the askvin - they don't have a limit on their pop so they just keep breeding forever||
The flametal
Is there a way to replant carrots?
The item was useless, and still is, I hope they change it to be used as decoration...
I think your confused. I said the spoiler is the flametal.
you can plant carrots and make seed-carrots to replenish em, takes 1 carrot to plant a seed carrot which gives 3 carrot seeds
sure do. You need seeds to plant carrots, then you use that carrot to plant more seeds
If your saying the feather cape is useless your just wrong...
no no Never (best cape)
I meant the old flametal is useless, and even after the update
But if I get a seed, then plant a carrot, I only turned that 1 seed into a carrot. There's no infinite carrot farming?
Still spoiler lol
it takes a while, the carrot you plant when harvest will yeld 3 seeds
I picked it and it just gave me 1 carrot
what you mean?
Yah, when you plant a 1 seed it give 1 carrot, when you plant 1 carrot it give 3 seeds
you have to "double" farm everytime, then
Anyways back to gaming
OH
as a tip, half the crops be seeds that will become a single carrot then the other part plant carrots that will become 3 seeds... (I always thought that it should be the other way around tho)
if I raise the ground under a spawner will it break it?
Dunno... I never tried tbh
but if you raise you go above, not under... however if you meant dig under it, No it wont break
It's at the water level
so water will prevent you from digging, it may raise the spawner, but then you would need tons of stone
spawner does not move at all when you raise ground xD
is it true the spin attack with the atgeir harvests crops?
idk that would be dope
Yes
shit ill make a bronze one just for that then, huge speed increase
harvesting these by hand takes forever
i just checked and it destroyed my crops.
you can only harvest barley and flax by damaging crops
so tubers are still only by hand?
yeah
turbo boo
indeed
Does anyone here have a cross platform dedicated server? Like a perpetual one?
how many sealbreaker fragments do i need
also whats the best way to handle 15 seekers at once
15??? id say just get the hell out xD
theyre camping outside this dungeon entrance lol
i came out of the door and they were at the top of the stairs so i made a portal home real quick
managed to kill 6 so far by prairie dogging
frostner sucks now idk why i keep using it lol
Ategir, the Mistlands one is goated!!
How is it that moder of all bosses is the most unfun to me
Personally I've hardly died since I picked up feather cape+ magic gear. Just jump around everything and throw fireballs. Ez win
Or even better yet if it's raining use the frost staff. Magic made mistlands a lot easier to get through
Ironically my issue lies with the game always seems insistent on spawning everything in the game right as I fight her. So the fight genuinely can take 30 minutes cuz I'm spending more time fighting everything else but the boss
It literally spawned 8 wolves and a fenring all at the same time as I was fighting her
honestly i didnt like it that much because it was really buggy for me and the very odd terrain made it even worse
Yeah she has a bad habit of just dropping onto awkward terrain so it is wholly impractical to fight her up close
yup
Literally I just get incredibly frustrating at the amount of enemies she drags into the fight cuz she makes a ton of noise. And mobs spawn a lot in the biome so suddenly I had literally 12 drakes spawn throughout the fight
yeah same here, i got like 2 golems and a ton of drakes when i was fighting her π
Legit my last fight with her had 5 golem spawns
DAMN
My one was right next to meadows so I just fought her there and it was pretty enjoyable
just dig a trench like thing under the altar and bow her w fire arrows from there
9
fucking book it
i dealt with all of them except the seeker soldier who i bailed on
i actually just got my first Sap a little bit ago lol
yeah i wouldve said use a staff of embers but i dont think u have that yet
ive got mana food but no mana yet lol
id say just keep parrying it and dodge roll whenever it swings
yo i have been gone from game any huge updates worth comging back too?
if you eat the foods u get mana but u need a galdr table to craft mana weapons
ashlands?
no im in mistland right now
yeah ik i was talking to the other guy
oh lmao mb
the seeker gave up chasing me, i killed another one in a dungeon a little bit ago
anyone hasvbe god tier seeds?
12345678
oh yeah
did u get all 9 sealbreaker fragments
he was up against a closed door and i just special attacked with my black metal spear or whatever its called
yeah i did
nice
nice
u got a galdr table yet?
when i logged out i was standing on a tree using my extractor while a couple dwarves protected me
no not yet
getting it is such a pain bro
too many crafting tables in this game
fr
like ive got an artisan table that has been totally worthless ever since i made it idk what it even does
ur gonna need it to get to ashlands
but yeah it has way too many and too many upgrades for each
Xbox player looking for a cross platform dedicated server. Please DM me if you are looking for an adult builder. I like construction and making long paths with trail stations by the beach
@mint blade Ty
is ashlands that hard on purpose?
