even on single player, a single crypt nets me on average like 150 ish Iron on 2x drops, to get lvl 3 sword,mace,pick,bow, upgrades etc would take a while, and thats not even making iron armour

He's correct on the mechanics, poison resist potions give very resistant to poison, but frost resist potions just give regular level resistance, same as the armors or capes.

Yeah, I think part of the draw of Valheim is the simplicity. There aren't a million values to min/max with, it's all just very straightforward. I like that I don't have to have a reference guide for 90% of my gameplay or have the free time of a school kid to learn EVERYTHING about it.

To give reasons to using root helmet instead of just spamming poison meads, and such

The reason to use the root helm is that it's good enough(tm) for most things, and you don't have to carry potions with. You're probably already going to be wearing a helm, so that's a free slot without having to carry potions with, or get materials for the potions and brew them, or remember to watch your timer and re-up them when you run out in combat.

Hah. I like fighting abominations... once you have an iron buckler you can reliably parry them and they disintegrate to a sword. I usually kill my first couple with a bronze buckler, bronze axe and troll armor. (Bronze buckler has a chance to not parry just due to armor, but it often does)

Protip food is one of the most important things in the game. When you enter a new biome getting a food upgrade is more powerful than getting a better weapon or armor IMO

This is probably going to sound insane, but I find the iron fire pit to be incredibly enticing, simply due to the nature of it not being able to be teleported. Would be interesting to see similar objects in the future. Something about the journey of bringing a fire pit (or 10…) back to base just feels right.

Once you know how all the enemies there work it's not that hard. Fulings are pretty rare, skeeters and squishy if you see them first, and lox are blind and deaf.

Increased damage I believe so yes. But mobs don't get extra health on higher difficulties (rather, the PLAYER does LESS damage. Which doesn't help your tamed mobs out much)

I'm pretty sure 2 star Very Hard tamed wolves are absolute dps monsters. I've decided not to tame them bc they sound OP

That'd still make a hell of a trick to even capture and tame them... can't parry them to boot them into a pit very easily, you'd have to do the hammer ninja trick, remove a floor below them

They don't respawn. Very few things in Valheim respawn of have specific spawn points, but an area that is valid for a troll to spawn will stay valid and another one may possibly spawn.

There's no timer or anything though, it just checks "Is valid area" and rolls the dice for what can spawn, basically.

Nothing but they're resistant to physical damage and not resistant to elements. So frost/poison/fire/lightning is your best bet

I was hearing seekers nearby while mining so I got what I needed and noped out as asap as possible.

The thought of mistlands starred enemies has been haunting me since I started the playthrough. I won't even bother with hp food, I'm completely sure it won't make a difference

Seekers' 2-star attacks deal 180, 240 and 200 respectively.

That's already difficult to withstand on normal, but on very hard...

Yes and no, some fishes have extra uses, fish wraps, bread and fish (angler fish I think) and the puffer fish can be used as a spike trap for bosses, dvergr or auto farm killing of mobs.

Yes, just leave out one beam and your cart can still cross it and one missing beam is enough to confuse the pathfinding of mobs.

Yeah, stone can be tricky. Basically vertical only, but it's nice because it adds huge support to any wood attached to it so you can build up much taller. Make sure you cycle the snap-points as you build higher, it makes it so much easier to get pieces where you want them (Q and E when you've got a piece ready to build). You also can only take a max of 100 fall damage in a single fall, so it's worth eating good food while building 😉

Valheim assigns a specific client to be the host for a given chunk, so if you were the first one in that area and then the host joined you, they would experienc that lag because your game is the authoritative client for that area.

I find the atgeirs hard to use for harvesting, especially if planting near walls because you move when you spin with them. A stagbreaker has a very predictable 4m diameter harvest circle that I find easier to predict. But to each their own 😉

No that’s totally understandable- if you don’t enjoy the game, it is what it is 🙂 I’m just trying to see if there’s a solution, or if you just prefer a different experince from a different game.

im doin car edits in games like nfs for 1 year i think, valheim looks rl dope and chill, even when i want to play it, im just get tired eh

it depends, in the beginning you really have a lot to do. then in the swamp you also have to do a lot, mountains for me was the most boring part. Plains I was creating a new base, building for me probably is the most fun of it all though.

I built my first house in this run on top of Astrid’s runestone. I think I am going to build a second one on one of those stone circle things and put bees and crops in the middle and make a moat around it or something
