if you have skillz you can a) make sure you have enough weight for scales and trophy b) land killing blow close enough to ship to jump in before serpent drops all of its stuff c) get all of the drops even out at see with autopickup

Or you simply lure the serpent to the shore, use the harpoon to drag it on land and kill it there.

No need to worry about items sinking.

And yes, that can be done in SP and is in fact easier as killing it at sea.

good idea but 2 problems: a) sometimes i kill serpents near a biome that is too tough for me to land and do that and b) sometimes too far away from land to make that feasible

I can kill 3 serpents on normal mode before my karve will sink, harder on different world settings, longship makes it a breeze

the skill loose also round up, so in theory you can lose more "skill points" for example if you almost lvl 62, you loose 4 points+ progress, while at fresh 80 you loose also only 4

my point is, if you about to do some boss, or something where you might die, its good to finish your current lvl progress

But being only one player means that I know what is what for every playthrough so one of the main core mechanics would be irrelevant. A new warrior/player entering and having to figure out stuff based on what the previous one did is the most important aspect

The challenge as solo is doable, but definitely not the same.

Copper looks almost exactly like the other huge rocks in the Black Forest, it just has some glittery veins in it. It also identifies itself when you look at it, unlike normal rocks.

Here's my current pet peeve - enemies have better vertical hit boxes than our players do. Why can the seeker hit me, but I can't hit it? Does anyone else have a peeve?

I always try to undermine copper. Yes, it's touch bedrock, so you can't easily collapse, but you see all and could put workbench and repair pickaxe, also bonfire + stay under copper = comfort => extremely fast stamina regen

I wish you could improve fist damage more than just with one weapon. fists are a cool tool to use they just often fall short because of their damage. Like I often get kills from throwing a spear at something and then following up with a punch or two (but they have to be really low), swimming around being able to have slightly better offense could be cool, and whenever I sparta kick a deathsquito it would be cool if it splattered like a bug instead of taking 10% of it's hp in damage, getting knocked back, and then immediately biting me

A lot of people use the highest armor helmet available, fenris legs, and then the root chest armor from swamp because it has pierce resist (but a high armor or another fenris piece for chest is good too!)

You will need more than one, and chickens are stupid. Like, STUPID stupid. They will immolate themselves the first chance they get, run out through doors, climb things you didn't think they should be able to. A hanging brazier is the best hatching fire IMO, since there's no way they can get to it. I also recommend putting them in a completely enclosed pen because bats will raid and murder your whole, expensive flock. If you haven't done a Sealed Tower for Hildir yet, you might consider it since there are a handful of free eggs at the bottom.

I put my chickens in a troll cave and it worked marvelously well. You just need to keep the pen small at first until they've laid a few eggs and then expand, eventually you have the cave full of a healthy bunch of fowl

Troll caves often being located close to greydorf spawners is a handy thing as well

Easiest way to trap them is just dig straight down when theyre a bit away, that way you get down fast enough so they cant hit you. Once you got your stamina back up, wait until theyre on the edge above, then dig under them, theyll fall in and you can climb out

You can hold yourself pretty well by urself provided that the Karve is sailing full speed undisturbed and using arrow to fire back at Black Forest age

But to be actually capable of knocking it out with less efforts then obviously higher tiered weapons

Also the loots of that sea beasts tends to sink to the bottom off the sea when you killed it, so there are ways to get it

Well, Ashlands isn't out yet so no-one has done this. But many people did this with Mistlands when the same situation was true. As long as you avoid Ashlands (or as much as possible) you'll be able to continue with the same world. There are people with worlds from before Early Access that still work.

Looking at topping up my wood supplies, plains or meadow for lots of fine wood? I assume its one of them as the ideal place

Make a wood farm! Plant your birch seeds or your acorns in one area closeby, wait a few days for growth, rechop, replant, infinite wood 🌲

Find a birch grove at Plains that you don't care, place a portal, and start deforest. Birch seeds quite a rare drop.

I was thinking that, aren't seeds lower drops than 1 per tree

For most of the trees if not all.
So tying more seeds drop when using the chop wood faster forsaken power would be nice.

though the alst mountain i checked i quickly ran through to find a hut with onion seeds

Oh nice, yeah the frost caves are really fun (not sure if youve see them before) probably my favorite dungeon in the game so far! Haven’t been to mistlands yet.

And onions are a really nice food source! Crazy that you can eat raw onion 😂

i dont think thats a good idea with root armor but at the same time, i cant make light armor with out being set on fire first

Yeah that’s probably a bad idea lol- my first cave I did with iron armor.

I make all armor just because I’m a completionist, but silver armor is a great choice imo. That extra defense is really good. And it’s useful in the next biome of course.

But I’ve seen a lot of people say that the root harnesk (is that how it’s spelled?) is really good in the plains as well
