yea to emulate the current pulling you off the edge of the world, you just get pulled further from the center once you're a certain distance from the center, and that pull never stops no matter how far beyond the edge you go.
but unless you're using fly or god, the kill barrier below the sea level will get you out there.

Dig out the copper if you need a lot and there aren’t other copper nodes around. Otherwise it would be much quicker just to mine the top since you do more damage mining from the top down as opposed to the side.

please be aware that recently two well known Sims Mod Creator's accounts were hacked and a malware that acts like a mod update was uploaded. the malware essentially steals a bunch of your data like payment information, passwords, autofills and more and sends it to the malware creator. it also downloads what it calls a binder and infects a couple applications like discord, steam and crypto wallet apps. it also watches your clipboard and if you copy a crypto address, it replaces it with one of their own as you paste it.

I know this server has nothing to do with Sims ofc. but as an often modded game, I think we should be on high alert in terms of new mods and updates.

1 some silver veines just come out of the mountain, so you can see them while you are scouting.

I found this opinion: Will taming animals have any use? The only animal that has a use in my opinion is the wild boar (and even though the amount of leather it drops is too much) there could be the possibility of disabling the dropping of skin. the lox is too much... it takes you three years to master it, they added the riding function and well... I used it once to try it, I will never use it again, the game is islands that you often never visit again... Taking the animal by boat is a danger (and obviously it is too big for the terrain of the Mistlands, and for the doors. Its meat is delicious but I and my group of friends fill the iron and hardwood chests simply by going on adventures to kill goblins in their camps. the same with wolves, taking them on a boat is very difficult and their meat has little value, less value their teeth, their head a use and their skin... you find it simply by killing wolves in the mountains, If you take them on a careful boat, they can be thrown into the water to attack a stupid gray dwarf.
This is for the tameable animables.

Taking care of chickens is a good mechanic. but that's not tame,

Yeah. Use a pickaxe? Just break them down. The thing with world-generated structures like the stone castles in the forest is that they return fewer materials than you would need to build it, so it's not often efficient.

Fishing isn't too bad. Fish wraps are very cheap to make and don't take much time to get the ingredients for, and are pretty serviceable as a general purpose food when you're building or collecting resources in general. I use them a lot, along with plain cooked seeker meat, just as food so I'm not caught with my pants completely down during a raid.

I don't think it's only for mistlands, it's just that taming wolves and lox is a waste of time because you can find their resources very easily just by walking around and the skin is not very necessary, only the lox meat and you get it by killing while looking for goblin camps . . The most valuable thing is to tame wild boars. Deer meat isn't even good for much. or the neck one. The transfer of domesticated animals to the mistlands that you refer to is parallel due to the terrain and is very complicated and the wolves die instantly.

Especially if you're a new player. Sometimes you can skip ahead a biome for one particular resource you need and then go back to the biome you're supposed to be doing, but for new players I'd just stick to the intended path

Yes, for sure. Felt stupid using fly, but i died 25 min boat ride away, and the monsters swam and destroyed my boat, and i didnt have time for portal. Just felt like 30 min wasted 😭 Also, running through biomes youve already completed for 40 mins just to get to ur gear will lead to nothing new as there are no more surprises, which kills that part for me sadly. But maybe im missing somethinh!

That's about the only one that can be "easily" skipped, and it was actually initially skipped in the winning Tyr speedrun so they could come back later with a Frostner and handle him more easily.

I'd say Eikthyr is very easy to skip, Elder is very easy to skip but only if you use glitches which i wouldn't say count

So just Eikthyr and Bonemass. Both of those give really good powers tho

Eikthyr is hard to skip unless you use troll mining, and that takes more time than just beating Eik IMO.

Food really is the key to survival (especially on higher difficulties)

I always go for food early but I wonder if I could do it better. usually speedrun my food setup by getting to bronze age, dodging into swamp for some turnips and just a small handful of iron, dodging into mountain for onions, tad bit of wolf, and a bit of silver for butchers table. That's a pretty good setup for taking on swamp and mountains but hard to get plains food because you need to murder a big motherly dragon. I do like to skip by Yag to get some misty food too tho

yea fulings are strong, but silver armor is the best you got. Try not to fight them as a big group but take out some with arrows from afar (preferably stealthily, the Huntsman bow has extra stealth which is nice). You can upgrade to plains armor pretty quickly once you enter plains, you just need to steal some crops

If you run 2hp foods of mountain tier and use that silver armor you should tank some nasty hits

And don't underestimate Yagluth, he is a menace especially to new players. Imo hardest boss in the game for most

Also, root harnesk is superior to max wolf chest imo. The biggest menaces in plains are spearthrowers (especially if they have stars 💀) and deathsquitos, and root chest automatically HALVES their damage bc it's pierce

It feels counterintuitive to go down in armor but specifically for yagluth I recommend sporting some fenris armor. Movement is key

yup. Kill abomination (tree monster in swamp) and you can make a awesome chest armor piece from their drops. That chest armor is great for the next biome too. Don't let you fool you that it comes from swamp, the bonus on it is strong 😉

Ice caves are a teensy bit rare too, not as common as swamp crypts or black forest chambers. But you should find some if you find new mountains, you only need a couple to get some decent fenris armor (it gives you extra movement speed which is good against Yag, and good and fun to use in general)

The "meta" armor for all around exploring in plains and mistlands imo tends to be the highest armor helmet you have available, root chestpiece, and fenris legs. Gives you decent armor, resistance to the toughest and most plentiful enemies in those biomes, and decent move speed.

Although metas are boring. Full fenris go BRRRRRRRRRRRRR

For mistlands I’d honestly say the best gear if you don’t have a preference for combat style would be ||magic|| focused with two eitr foods and 1 stamina, and then fenris armor. You’d be fast and ranged enough to dodge most attacks, have shields for if you don’t, and can do great dps. As long as you’re rested I don’t think eitr weave is that necessary for another 50% increase to your effective regen, especially if you have potions

I might also be in a harder difficulty solo mindset but I think it applies either way

fun fact - surtling spawners can be identified via toggling the camp button on the map generator website.
It identified all "camps" such as fuling camps, greydward camps, mountain wells, grave 01's in swamps and more.
The one you want to look for for surtling spawners is called "FireHole"

If you mean the Steam cloud backups, I think they only sync with the cloud when you exit the game. Valheim does keep extra backup copies of your world, so you can always revert to an older copy if the most recent one gets corrupted.

Yeah, basically, if you tick it over to the cloud, then it moves the backups to a different folder inside Steam that is duplicated in the cloud whenever you exit the game. If you go to a different computer, and you install Steam with your account and then Valheim, it will automatically download those cloud saved files to that computer and keep them all synched to the latest versions. So if the latest file gets corrupt, then hopefully one of the (I think) 4 backups should hopefully be working. It would only be if all 4 backups become corrupted that you are hosed.

Also keep in mind, the older the backup the more progress will be undone as well...

The cloud folder is located at: \Steam\userdata<STEAMUSERID>\892970\remote with the world data located in the "worlds" folder and the character data located in the "characters" folder. Note that the <STEAMUSERID> will be a unique number and may have multiple folder numbers if you have used multiple steam accounts on the same computer.
