Sometimes that's the hardest part of running a server. Not going through it alone.

Then too, I've been on servers that gate progression to the extreme.
I didn't know how it was done without me needing a mod, but entire sets of boss altars were removed. Host then told us to log out for five minutes, the altar is back and our structures remained as well.

So I guess the lesson is, if you want to gate progression, go extreme!

If you haven't already built a Karve, time to start sailing and find Swamp biomes. I'd also suggest searching the Blasck Forest biomes away from spawn for towers and check for location stones for the third boss location, plus searching for the trader Haldor.

The swamp is a tricky biome for first timers, I strongly suggest investigating the mead brewing system for poison resistance, and try building a base near the swamp biome boundary with a portal to your main base

I have a stupid question i just started and how do you unlock the first boss fight?

At the spawn area, be sure to interact with the glowing red stone. This gives you the location of the boss summoning altar. Go there when you’re ready, and solve the riddle to figure what you need to sacrifice to summon him.

u need to collect deer trophies as far as i remember to place it at the altar to summon the boss. I forgot how many trophies u need tho

Two deer trophies required and you need to find the site of where you can spawn him. You can usually find a rune that will give you the loction. Pretty tough fight if you aren't prepared.

and frequently my reflexes take over and i jump without blocking

this is one of the worst habits i see people doing jumping to dodge things intentionally. the thing about tree trolls is their attacks are incredibly telegraphed and predictable. if you just stay calm and watch eventually surely you can get the dodge timing

this started because i activated a usb mouse to try and even the odds versus a troll

My guess is that when the game will be released, it's most likely on a Monday or a Tuesday.

The reason for that is that it gives the Devs a couple of days to gather the feedback and release a hotfix if (and that's a big if ) the game is going to need that.

That would really be the only reason, but IMHO there's no point as Mistwalker outclasses Frostner by far in any category. So you deal damage much quicker and there's almost no need for the knockback.

You can go Ashlands and defeat Fader with Mistwalker. And it isn't even a severe downgrade compared to Ashlands weapons.

Agreed, it's very flexible and I found it to be unique in it's feeling of safety in close combat. It can take a little longer to win, but you'll typically be in less risky scenarios after the first strike.
