Hello everyone!

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I can’t seem to find a straight answer. Here’s what I know: how to use devcommands on my local server. I even have a few quality of life mods installed that run smooth. My question is: is there a way, or a mod for me and a friend to run devcommands at the same time in that local server? I’ve been reading about a mod called Server Commands using the bepinex plugin. Can anybody share any information about this? We just want to fly and build forever at the same time lol

The only way I know how to do it I've done in singleplayer, open the console with F5 type "devcommands" and "debugmode" in that order, B for no build restrictions and Z for flight

I'm assuming its different in servers?

In order to use dev commands on a modded server, you do need the Server Commands mod installed as well. After that, it's the same functionality as on a single-player world: F5 and then go nuts

Thanks for replying so quickly. When I install that mod, would my friends also be able to use the devcommands? I’m just playing on a local server, not a dedicated one, so he either jumps into my world or I jump into him. When he gets into mine I just run vanilla with no mods because he can’t join unless he installs them himself. So all this either way is reliant on him installing these mods as well.

You'll want to check in #mods-discussion for those details, but to sum it up, Your server or when you're hosting locally, needs to have a file that lists all the Steam IDs (if playing the game through that of course) in an admin list.

Cool thing about that mod? Everyone doesn't need it to play on the server, just those that can utilize it. That means crossplay with Xbox won't be a problem.

I mainly use the spear, the only advantages are the ability to throw it and inside tight spaces

There's a sparkle effect around it to help you find it when you throw, I'd recommend keeping the throw distance small

yay spears. also i was thinking about this and trying to time it out, if you throw it short enough such that you immediately pick it up and just spam throw, the damage equals out to about just auto attacking with it just with longer range. i think. it’s about 2 throws to 3 stabs, and the throws are 1.5 damage? if that makes sense

If there is only one user your steam id is the 8 digit number folder

It's been discussed few times before and I know Smiffe has been part of that discussion as well. But afaik he never said if the system would use data from the EA timeframe or not.

Both are possible, considering we can also trigger new crafting content by simply picking up an item from the ground or a chest to unlock it.

So I guess we just have to wait until 1.0 is released and see how things are going.
Most will check their old games to visit the DN anyway, so the moment things don't work in those "old" saves, achievements will be unlocked with new games only.

But for now, only time can tell.

If I play a strategy game as England / the UK and achievements will be added to that game, I will get the achievements of that game. Not the ones of the games I played as France, Spain, the USA or whichever other country.

And it would work similar for Valheim; you get the achievements in the game you currently play. Not the ones you've played before and which are inactive at the moment.

If you're able to boat there, do that.
Then set up a portal a bit further away, preferred on top of a sunken crypt, as that will be harder to have it destroyed. Just assign it a new name.

Once that's done, try to find another crypt you can use as a platform, or use some of the fallen indestructable trees as a platform.
Lure him to that and start smashing him with your maces or 2 handed weapons.
Keep an eye on the anti-poison potions timer to make sure you can keep them running at all time.
You may consider to craft a root helmet for both of you before hand, as that one has a poison resist modifier, although it's not as good as the potions. It doesn't stack with the potion, but it's a decent replacement for when the potion runs out.

The advantage of being at a higher level is that some of his attacks will miss you.

The poison attack he does may strike you, occasionally; just like the summons he has will be able to get up there. But his own hits will most likely miss you and due to the possible clipping, you will be able to keep hitting him.

And since you're together, one can deal with Bonemass, while the other one deals with the summons and occasionally helps beating that blob into submission.

Just don't land in the swamps, but pick a nearby area of dry land.
It means you need to run a bit longer through the swamps, but at least you're certain the boat will still be there.

Problems got solved for the most part.

The GFX-card was loose (still), so they made sure that one was attached properly this time.
The crashes were solved too.

However, I still get the error message about missing desktop items (I think it's the icons) when booting, so not all is solved.
The good news about the latter is that's only showing up when I boot. When the PC goes into hibernation, and is reactivated after, the message won't show up anymore. So I can live with it.

It's working as expected right now. And being able to play Valheim in HDR settings makes the game even better.

Romstation.fr is not available from Steam. It seems to be more or less an emulator for different kinds of consoles (old to new). It can also "emulate" a PC. At least that's what I got from a quick view at their website. Why anybody would need or want to emulate a modern PC on a modern PC is beyond me. There was also something about cloud gaming there. So it might actually be a cloud gaming service.

Could be that Julz computer alone is not capable of running Valheim, so they are playing it with a cloud gaming service.

If you're paranoid, I recommend checking your Player.log if this a single-player game or if you're the host of an in-game server. You ought to have a timestamped World saved ( XYZms ) entry after you hit the Save button.

If this a dedicated server, make sure your player is admin-listed before hitting Save. You'll be able to look for a similar log message as above, but in the server log in this case.

Yeah I figured that out. I am trying to do a slightly different play-through style and was trying to find a new weapon (other than the sword I love so much) that I could roll with for a bit and it's the best option, especially paired with an Abyssal Razor

Stand in the middle of the Queens body up close and you have more room for error when trying to dodge roll her attacks. You can dodge roll forward into her to dodge her attacks. It is all about timing, she has certain intervals between each attack. Spend a few deaths learning that pattern and you can do it.
