Are you using a mod?

Because in vanilla the only two things you can put in a refinery are (Yggdrasyl root) sap and soft tissue.

If not, there's a left over from earlier devellopment staged where the smelter and blast furnace used to have a similar "problem".
iirc it had something to do with the time it took to "consume" an item.

Either way, just drop the occasional one item extra (usually the tissue) in the refinery and all should work well.

And it may be a good idea to check how much of something is left behind, before dropping the rest of the same things in.

Public servers can have some issues with cheaters and griefers but that is not the common experience.
ALOT of servers are not fully public .. they are hosted and protected.
I think if you get in with a good group of people then you will see there is lots of fun to be had.

Most of the creatures are completly invented or taken from other cultures, with an expection for trolls. The mountains and Ashlands are supposed to the be Muspelheim and Nifheim reigns described in the poetic Edda, but it s nothing like that I get that developers wanted to give their personal intepretation of the norse myths, but in my opinion it s was a missed opportunity to make something really epic

oh, i quite like the slower pace of older ones
get quite tired of the nigh uninterrupted action of wilds actually.
-# especially considering that they keep speeding up combos and combo chaining and adding new ways to deal with attacks without stopping what you're doing and moving out of the way but wanna keep the average completion time about the same so they just massively inflate health bars and occasionally lower player motion values so you go through your usual combos so many more times per quest than you would in older games and it just ends up feeling so repetitive

the fights are no longer a clunky mess but they arent fast yet

much closer to GU in speed than rise or wilds

and i first switched to lance because that same thing happened with CB - used it for base rise because it was the only one that still felt remotely right to me with all the changes rise made, then later i revisited GU for a bit, realized "oh shit i love gen 4 CB", then revisited world and realized "oh shit i love world CB even more than gen 4 CB" so i kinda had to resort to something i've never touched before when sunbreak came out

in wilds i partially switched to bow instead of longsword

which is kinda wild cuz my playcharts usually looked like 3k ls hunts per game and like 200 runs with some broken farming weapon

i went for gunlance because all my gunlance buddies were raving about how wilds changed it and i never got deep into gunlance in older games.
then partway through us getting into wilds we happened to start a new 4U save together and the same thing happened again, "oh i enjoy this more than the newer one, damn" i like when every lil shell and poke really matters~

i will say wilds GL is probably still better than world GL in my opinion. world GL felt like it didn't quite know what it wanted to be

ls in world feels great, your attacks matter, your positioning matters, and your accuracy has to be on point

unfortunately monsters often flinch out of your spirit riundslash due to the claw staggers

i do think back to it fondly, got 3993 uses on it.
a number that is carved into my mind because i got so ashamed of that main weapon choice that i decided to just never use LS again after fatalis haha

nowadays, specifically in world, i'm an HH main but also regularly use DBs, hammer, SnS, charge blade, lance and occasionally great sword.
gunlance might be on that list, gotta see how i feel about it after wilds and a 4U revisit

hey guys, i just made a terrible mistake: i activated Moder by mistake and since it was near my home he basically destroyed everything. No possibility of eating food, teleporting, take back my weapons ecc. It s game over. Do you know some way to restore a past save before i summoned Moder so that i don have to start all over...again?

There is way, you should be able to get to save files in main menu when choosing world/character, where you can load the latest backup of both of your world and character (individual saves) before the Moder incident.

Moder has weakness to fire and immunity to frost, although fire arrows deal quite little damage at that point so obsidian arrows are better. Poison arrows can also work if you collected them from sunken crypts.

Moder is the first fight in the game thats a slog fight (takes a lot of time). Mostly because she flies around and lands really far away from you. If you're using ranged then obsidian arrows are your best bet. You can also use up any poison arrows you looted in crypts but the draugr fang already poisons her

We found bonemass to be more of a slog then moder... but moder didn't fly around to much after she landed the first time.

You can clap bonemass pretty fast with an iron mace, even unupgraded

and only use like half your poison resist

Only to fire and pierce, he is resistant to slash, neutral to lightning and spirit and weak to blunt and frost 🙂

If you're all using blunt your damage increase per player will be much higher than the health increase

Some people get frostner before bonemass but I don't think it's worth it since iron mace is also best for stone golems

Hes supposed to be the boss that teaches you damage resistances matters thats why he resists everything you would reasonably have at that point

I would argue Trolls should be the first enemy that teaches you that but eh what do i know

It wasn't that bad, bow becomes very strong with higher skill level.
Bosses became bit longer due to many of them having pierce resistance so farming mats for frost arrows required many mountain trips.

some things are completly inconsistent btw. First i m being tell that slash damage and fire damage are effective against dwarfs, and the moment after i deal very little damage with fire to a ICE creature

Audio glitch was caused by game engine bug which Unity has fixed but it hasn't been implemented into Valheim yet.

The progression is similar that you are simply making stronger equipment to defeat the next boss multiple times until the last one but everything else is very different.

Cant really say much about the similarities since i didnt play terraria, but you esencially gather resources from nature, kill enemies to get their materials, with that you make better gear to be able to get more/new resources and kill bosses. Big part of the game is also building if you look at some of the build channels here you can see all sorts of amazing builds 🙂

Valheim doesn’t have much unique loot to find like terraria, all your equipment is crafted so you can choose what you need instead of getting lucky for it.
