This is true and a valid way to prevent these things from happening, for other people who run servers and all that, here is what I do: Whitelist and password protection for the server, talk to all new members in voice as soon as possible, and ABOVE ALL VERY FREQUENT SAFE BACKUPS so if someone plays up you just load a backup if its bad enough, done and safe server community most of the time!
