Anyway, I wanted to ask you the difference between Owlin and Aaracokra in DnD. Maybe my DM wasn’t clear when he introduced the race but I believe we can base our character on any bird specie, right ?

Owlin are literally owl-based whereas Aaracokra are more traditionally bird-like. And no, not just any bird species, only those as playable options. Owlin aren't even part of the standard 5e set.

Biggest thing that makes it more manageable is realizing that food is a central mechanic, it provides your stamina and health, you always want to be full on the best food you can. At least starting out, until you figure out all the balances 😉 A balanced diet is useful too, you want food that can give you stamina and other food that can give you health, having all health (like all meat in the meadows) just means you end up tiring out quickly.

I used to play a battlemage relying on elemental and blade in mistlands, but it wasn’t viable in Ashlands for my skills (as a player) are asking for more stamina and more focus on main weapon skill

I think staff of protection is a must have yes

Troll staff is a bit dangerous in mele of course, except if you are used to deal with lot of incoming attacks

When I played during Ashlands PTB I was playing as hybrid character, having Dundr, Staff of wild and Protection staff for eitr options and Thunder axes and Bleeding Slayer for melee options. Gave me some Doom Slayer vibes when wearing Flametal helmet and chest with Embla trousers and Ashen cape lol.

Haven't played Palworld so can't really compare. Combat is quite fluid and easy to learn but mastering is important. You can block, parry or dodge to avoid taking damage.

Well, there is possible to tame some animals in game to feel less lonely.

Game is fun with close friends too.

Game is balanced around solo play but coop is possible too.

Just read a negative review of someone playing the game for 44.4 hours, complaining about the slow development.

*Game is bland, mod support is the current lifeline since the devs write a single line of code per month.

Devs begging Steamhub mods to purge every thread saying anything negative about the game. They made a megathread where they ask you to put your negative opinions instead of writing a negative review, but all they do in that thread is ban people for criticizing the painfully slow development.*

At thx! It’s been fun taking liberties with Valheim’s design. I am a huge fan of the armor and the general vision of the devs, but making what’s in the game feel unique to the character has been dope.

And like, the weapons & gear are supposed to be made by the players, so of course they would have their own flair! Whether it’s the boar cape, or the millions of potions, or someone hailing from Japan (somehow) and turning the root armor into something culturally appropriate for that craftsman

Oh the foreigner, yeah he’s the character I use. I wanted on this playthrough to try and build traditional Japanese housing to keep things interested, as well as try an archery build. Both have been lots of fun!

He is very close to the imagination I had from one of my character I named "Ifan of East", which I made a lore for him (I always have a lore for my characters once used to the game a little bit). He is the descendant of a family from "far eastern countries" (asia then) and came to northern lands of Vikings after a long journey over many generations. In his childhood he would have been somewhere in Russia then, locigcally. Also a ranged build (that may turn to wizardry, I don't know yet).

And I’ve been really curious about the world lore outside of Valheim, like where cultures are!

We can just say that it’s an all-Viking world, which is why in the promotional art you see diversity, and it writes off any confusion with other gots from other mythologies or cultures that don’t believe in Odin (Odin bringing peace to the 9 realms being the major plot device for the game)

The second idea is that it’s very similar to our own world but with mythical gods being real. Odin and the Norse are major players, as may be other gods of the time (which unfortunately can get messy fast). I still like this though, and like to wonder what the world would be like. Maybe the Viking age lasted longer and has a greater presence, but there is still other cultures or mythical creatures out there! In one of my first art pieces shared was my OG gang lineup, where I played as a Greek Cyclops who bred 2⭐️ wolves

nope, multiple mini-boss locations always spawn (3 for each iirc) but once you gave Hildir each chest, others you find around are almost useless, almost because they can serve as nice decoration items for yourself if put on item stands 😁

semi-related: i have a 4070ti and saw the same behavior before i capped it. afterwards i was getting weird random stuttering at odd times. reducing the graphic mode to performance fixed that issue, and surprisingly there is not much noticeable difference in visual quality.

ram is ddr 5 16gb 4800hz speed currnetly using 12gb while in game

gpu is rtx 4050 laptop 6gb using in game just 23%
