Is there a way to warn about a specific player, or is it just what it is?
We had a dude in on our dedicated server. Everything was fine and he seemed like a good guy. All the sudden and out of nowhere, he killed 2 bosses and 3 mini bosses, totally disregarding the server rules. This completely ruined the experience for most of the players since they werent geared for Geirrhafa and Brenna events.

I don't think there is. "Players" like that will aways be there. Either because they think it's not fun when others progress in a slower pace or because they think it's "nice" to force other players to deal with much more dangerous opponents as that may "proof their worth and understanding of the game."

The only thing that you or the server host can do is putting that "player" on a black list and make sure it's banned from the server you're playing at.
Unfortunately that won't stop that "player" to repeat the issue somewhere else, but at least it'll make sure that you won't have to deal with said "player" again.

As for the bosses and events, the only positive thing is that you'll be able to either summon those bosses again when you are up to it.
You may want to switch to "player based raids" in the modifier to see if that would shut off the raids you don't want to have to deal with until you've actually dealt with the bosses and mini bosses.

I do understand, and I understand their intensions. But this leaves me with an annoying amount of time spent on fixing and correcting.
I wish I could have looked up his SteamID to see if there was any "dirt" on that specific player and in that way completely denied the player access in the first place.

I don't think there's a dev command to reset a boss kill.
But if there is, only the server host can use those commands.

watched the wiki page you posted, it seems there's one "resetkeys" and boss/event related mobs kills are listed here https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Global_Keys (no miniboss keys shown tho). Just assumed Butcheretta was the owner of the server "our dedicated server"... still, not an expert and asking, hope someone more experienced can dig deeper to solve problem

Surprisingly - for me at least - I never had any problem with that issue until the release of the Bog Witch.

But I also have to admit that the map(s) I got the Bog Witch on and have that issue are worlds generated before the release of that content, so it could be related to that as well.

yeah generally speaking, the older the world, the more likely you are to see weird collision

frequently on servers in a wolf or boar farm you'll see an inexplicably wet wolf/boar with the drips above it's head where it's fell through the floor and ported back up again after hitting the water level

Yes but not permanent and that change would only do much for you of you dont ever build much in the same space. Valheim graphics detail have actually very little to do with the amount of objects the game tracks while playing Valheim, versus other games amount of light effects and object count.

It's a great asset for gaming.
There used to be a time where I was able to set up a complete trade route in a trading / sailing simulation game without even looking at the map. Just because I remembered the goods the cities produced and the most profitable buying / selling prices.
And that while not having played that game for 6 years or so.

I'm also able to pretty well find my direction after having looked at a map once or twice, just by using some major landmarks; while I got friends who're almost getting lost when going to the city center, despite that being 10 minutes from their home.
So having a great memory is good in that regards as well.

On the other hand, if it also let you remind the not so nice things from the past...... yeah, not that nice at all.

For the knife wielder: lunge attack and after that stab stab, a buckler to parry if he does get a swing off.
archer: Aim for the head use fire arrows if you can.
Melee and shield: If using buckler or normal shield try and parry for tower shield, tank if you can't roll and attack when he leaves an opening. Circle strafing might also work depending on movement speed.

Flinthead does indeed do more raw damage since the troll is weak to pierce but it is harder to make than the fire arrow and for only 2 dmg more its not worth the hassle.
You could even use wood arrows.
Flint: 27 pierce --> 27x1.5=40.5
Fire: 11 pierce --> 11x1.5=16.5 + 22 fire = 38.5
So the difference is 2.

Also fire is a tick that gets refreshed every time a new fire arrow lands, so if you can hit it a few times before it is close and you then move away you will still be doing damage to it where as with the flint arrow no shooting is no damage.

Arrow for arrow flinthead will kill quicker since it is instant damage and the fire arrow takes about 5 seconds for the full damage to do its work.
So the flinthead will feel faster and feels like it does more damage but the total damage is very close to each other.

I just got a PM from a staff member of another game's forum about someone reporting me for using the expression "Toddler mode".

The reason I used that expression was that someone wants a railroad game to become even more easy as the easiest mode is, by having trains run through one another. Something I don't think is a good idea. So I said that the game didn't need a "toddler mode".

Guess someone got a little bit insulted because of it - perhaps I was right about the age? - and reported me.

So a staff member asked me kindly not to use that expression again in the future if that user comes up with "ideas" that will make the game too easy. 🤣
