I haven’t noticed till now but one of my friends joined my world and said “this bird is bad as hell”. I promptly responded with “thats a bird bro what’s wrong with you” but after he sent me the clip I noticed the beak is mismatched with the rest of the head and an extruding white object that almost looks like a chin. If you level up your block skill past 50 you can parry 2 star Ashland enemies. Make sure you have bonemass power active and you will be a tank

You can level up block quickly by spawning in 3 elders and blocking its vine shooting attack

Bonemass power doesn’t affect blocking, status resistances are applied after blocking

Also it’s a good idea not to rely on powers for general gameplay, they’re best used when you need them

A maxed carapace buckler is the only shield I use in Ashlands cuz of its 2.5 parry bonus. I make sure my club and blocking stats are al least level 50 skill before I head to Ashlands.

Mostly adding QoL, but also a few new piece of gear but they're balanced. But we're adding lots of monsters and even additional bosses

To give you an idea, yetis are basically mountain trolls but alway come in pairs of two. We encountered pair of 2 stars splitting yetis. Splitting is one of available traits for creature. In this case, when the creature dies, it spawns 2 creatures with one less star, and they also have the Splitting traits. So 2 2-stars splitting yetis, that's a lot to handle

I was basically the one who cares for the garden in every valheim games. When you want to have food for 5 players and feed the animals, that a big garden and it took me quite the time to maintain. They could do an expedition and I was sitting there harvesting and planting. We use crop utils. Basically, you plant in rows. So in one move you can plant maybe 20 or 30 crops. And you harvest in a AoE manner. That's the kind of QoL I like so I can go exploring with the rest of the Vikings.

It doesn't make the game easier because planting isn't difficult. It's just boring lol

We also added new building piece to make more beautiful bases with diverse fourniture

It’s often not really a choice as such. Or rather, it would be unnecessary work to create the game in a way that disallowed mods. Because essentially when you create a game using a game engine you are, in effect, modding the engine. And so it’s automatically possible for others to mod your mods of the engine.

Crossbow is a good example. It comes into play at the same time as magic and still, many favor the bow over crossbow.

It's a mod we use to allow creature to rank up to 5 stars, including bosses.

Also, creatures can spawn with elemental traits. So a fire-imbued draugr will make you catch on fire when they hit you.

Finally, we use it to apply random traits to creatures. For example, a quick creatures moves and attack faster. An armored creature has its armor value really high and you only chip tiny bits of HP when you hit them. Splitting creatures spawns 2 other creatures on one less star upon death

How does the save progression work?

I saved before I died. Logout the game and it started me on a corps run...I don't understand the save in this game.

The only thing I could suggest is that you logged out before the save was complete? It takes 3-5 seconds to complete. You can see the flashing disk in the top left corner. I also found this out the hard way.

Anybody else think the new update isn’t fun? Me and my dad (who both have played 2,000 hours in game roughly) came to the ashlands with fully maxed out gear from the mistlands best possible food and fire resist potions and immediately upon landfall had our brand new fireproof boat incinerated by Bonemaws and lava blobs. Then when we ran onto the beach to not boil to death we immediately got put on critical hp and then beaten to death. This happened twice before we gave up and decided to never go to the ashlands after we lost and wasted every resource we had. We couldn’t even get a portal up.

It’s not just that it is hard. I have played and beaten Elden Ring and several other Soulslikes. The ashlands was literally insta death within 2 seconds of coming to the shoreline. We didn’t even get to fight because there were so many enemies and projectiles that we got killed before we could even draw our bow/crossbows or melee weapons. We literally couldn’t do anything, and this happened twice in a row.

It's not insta-death, you just need to prioritise getting the spawners and then setting up a beachhead.

The other thing is to make sure you land in a spot without many spawners, keep your boat on full health (bring lots of wood to build workbenches on rocks), and kill any bonemaws before you land. After that keep dodging attacks and try to keep enemies away from your stuff. if you have multiple people one person can lure enemies away while the other sets up a portal

Repair boat py putting workbench on the pillar, ideally after every Bonemaw fight, once you get close to shore (can see it) drop a portal on a spire, then inch closer to shore. You have to treat it like setting foot in a hostile land, not just hopping into a bunny ranch. When I landed I dropped another portal on pillar right next to shore like 10m away, and then 3 portals on the landmass near rocks etc while I was fighting. At some stage 2 of those portals get destroyed but I had a way back and could also use the corpse run buff to fight the masses easily. This was on Day one of PTB which means it was much harder than it is now to land in Ashlands.

Think of the hoe as an iron and you move it from the desired level towards the higher level and it should level it out. But sometimes it bugs and won’t be affected by the hoe at all

That’s where you need a pickaxe to smash the bump or raise ground (later in the game) to “fill” the hole.

It did things like unloading some dropped items, lowers some players refresh rate or whatever, sync, check it out it might help you guys

We used it but it didn't work that much
We did notice a slight difference

No, brother, the game opens the game via the cloud, but when I enter the server password to play with a friend, I open it and enter the password. When I confirm the password, the page that enters the password doesn't close, it freezes, but the game doesn't lock just using the password.

make a frost resistance cape with the first silver you get and a butchers block cooking station upgrade for new food as soon as possible, bring a portal or 2 and a cart, farm some silver carefully, if you die come back and keep going and put more in cart, know how to get to water and yeet the cart down the mountain / ocean and transport/rebuild cart if it breaks tumbling down, get silver to boat and sail it back home or to a smithing/smelting outpost

its a good strategy to let go of the cart and push it down, then you slowly follow and if it explodes most of the stuff will be close together and you can remake cart with a workbench and toss all the silver back in, on to shore it is, I often plan a good spot for cart toss before I fill it up and have a portal at ocean near where I go with a longship in a box

My first pair of eggs, one spawned in fire and I had to buy a 3rd egg from trader. When I shared that story with a friend, she told me how someone else she knew was playing a hardcore server with 0.5x material drops, and their first 2 eggs both spawned in fire … it is tough. People have different things they feel comfortable regarding cheating/help, and if your gf would rather a person gift one rather than spawn it in, I get it. I would be willing to gift one but it seems we may be opposite time zones. Best of luck. Let me know if you need one.
