Hey I am looking for a little help with Valhiem. Recently installed the game and played in my own world single player. I RoG Laptop that has a decent enough GPU. I played RDR2 and AOE4 on this machine, but Valhiem lags for me. The frames keep dropping from 50 to under 20 FPS. I updated my GPU driver, reinstalled the game, verified files integrity but it keeps happening. Now if this is thermal throttling, why doesn't it happen for games that require much more processing power than this game. I really love Valhiem and I don't want to give up on it. This is a last ditch effort.

Lowering the resolution to 75% with antialiasing on really helps performance for me without significantly affecting how the game looks

This could make sizzling berry broth better for recovering health after using blood magic, potentially saving your life if you get hit without your bubble (but I haven’t used magic so I don’t know if that will one-shot you anyway)

If anything I've always thought seeker aspics are inexpensive. I think berry broth is fine. You trade 5 minutes of duration for more HP regen, compared to aspics. The recipe doesn't strike me as expensive. The shroomshake recipe does strike me as expensive, though. Marinated greens are a little expensive, but they're the best.

Things like beehives, crops, crafting benches are all free too

Not that big of a deal since we played through the game way too many times already and we don't mind abusing it until Ashlands (we have 30 longboats already)

But I feel no build cost should only be applied to the building and heavy building tabs

Otherwise my comment is that no build cost is not done right

I used to play with xbox players, being on pc myself. Gave up on that, since it requires to enable crossplay, which can lead to serious connection issues. For me it would mess up my router so I kept getting dced until I reset the connection, then I could play for a while til it started all over again.
Have moved on to only play without crossplay, zero issues since.

It negates that damage. Simply increasing Armor rating would just reduce it, but you still receive it, which becomes less important at those stages

If you want extra armor value use normal shield, that's pretty much their purpose. Blocking reduces damage taken

Because they love to tease us(? 😋 ). The new 4x4 floor was originally seen in destroyed mountain stone structures(so there is hope but it is unlikely). Just because it is in the game doesn't mean we, as players, will gain access to it though. Imagine having access to building like its a dev creation kit. It would become overwhelming for a vanilla game. Mind you, there are some people who hunt for devcommands and spawn in things that aren't readily available and they make things work, but they still don't have access without those codes.

if this is your first time loading the world and it gives you a warning that the game crashed/stopped working, leave it for 5-10 minutes. the ashlands update was huge.

I got the game because my friend asked me to so we played a world together up into the swamps then he just stopped playing. We beat the swamps and were onto the next biome. Now im doing a play through solo and I've gotten to the swamps but I'm just dreading farming all the loot again even tho i just did it maybe 2 months ago. Would it be wrong to no build up until the point i left off at. I feel like it's killing my drive to play the game i wanna experience the new biomes I've never even seen plains yet. So i figured if i did no build up until the point i was at and turned it off it would be more enjoyable. Does anyone else use no build?

5.11 stone per copper ore later....the node is finally cleaned out. only took 2.5 in game days with 2 antler pickaxes, 95 avg stamina and a 12 minutes rested buff applied every time the pickaxes both broke (in under 10 minutes). Now I remember why I cheat on mining....dear lord that was draining.

No build cost is the only realistic way to build big

I can say this because I've built big structures with build cost on and it was 100% a bad experience (no cost wasn't a thing back then)

The response I got was "don't build big." So no-cost is the way to go for building
-negative side is benches, bench upgrades, beehives, boats, etc are all free

First time building a mage tower (max height) took me two weeks
New mage tower with no build cost took me 5 hours maybe

Try turning off crossplay.

You can check my posts in the valheim dedicated help channel to see how I’ve reached this conclusion, but I’ve had the same issues and the only thing that has improved it is turning off crossplay.

It seems like there is something with Crossplay that causes an extra 80-100ms of lag. I’ve been having these issues a lot with my friends and I’ve narrowed it at least in part due to crossplay. When 5 mobs teleport around and you can’t see them hit you it’s GG.

I've got a question regarding Valheim speed run seeds. what the most important parts that makes the seeds viable ?

For speed runs, having most or all bosses within a single landmass seems like it would help.

That's why most maps with 4+ on a single 'mass tend to be labeled as speed run maps.

And/or proximity to initial spawn. The further you have to travel and/or backtrack, the harder it would be to get a good time out of a map.

Take all this with a grain of salt. I don't do speed runs, but these are my thoughts on the matter.

the nodes extend way below what you see on the surface, but they do take a while to mine out. Bear in mind that you also get a lot of stone mixed in as well

Yes, trolls can be excellent copper miners.
I do like to completely excavate around the copper till I reach all the way down, and if a troll comes to investigate I lure them in a pit and when I'm done excavating I set them loose around the copper and play hide and seek.
Mostly I do my own excavating though.

Yes, if you can have it free floating with about 1-2 meter clearance it will explode in a shower of stone and copper.
It is rare for copper to be able to dig it completely free and you will have to remove parts of it from the bottom and the side before it will explode.

With wood ladders you can dive pretty deep as it is. Don't get me wrong, Valheim's swimming is not good. It's adequate at best. But give it a sprint option and maybe improve the in/out of water interactions and I'd say it's fine.

If we average the major updates time to release, a good guess would be within 10 years (since a lifetime is also related to how much time is left of the individual). Keep in mind, I am just a player and have no actual insights into the process.
