Melee has a wider range of dmg types and overall deals more dmg. I can see why they would scrap it

I would advice to start out on your own and see what it is all about, figure stuff out on your own and not look anything up unless you are really getting frustrated by not knowing what to do next.

respectfully, I was responding to a ping, and my initial statements were a response to a statement in this channel. I don't need to make another suggestion in the suggestion channel because it has been already suggested countless times in countless ways prior.

I'm not very good at showering others with compliments, but I do like the game and development team and wish the very best for Valheim. So when I see something that could be improved, instead of ignoring it and pretending that every mistake is some 4d perfect chess move like a weird fanatical zealot, I will point it out and give my reasons if there is some argument against my opinion.

Certainly it's not trivial, and would require some definite purposeful development, but something that would be worthwhile to tinker with prior to a 1.0 release. I've come to terms with the possibility that either Dvoid or a significant portion of the team are perfectionists, meaning that when they want to do something they have to do it as perfect as possible (for them)

They probably want to tie the character's animations to the attacks, which is the hard part, but making the attacks connect to where you're aiming without animations is much more feasible

If it’s your first playthrough you should make padded armor because you’re still learning the enemies’ attacks.

Root harnesk can be useful in mistlands for the pierce resistance though, so keep that with you and swap to it when needed

The devs are very passionate about it as well, I've seen them being very active in their social media and interacting with players.

Because that's what they do. They shoot anything in their field of cover. If you want them to shoot at something specific, use a trophy of that thing on them.

Without knowing the specs of your laptop it's hard to say. With the terms "office laptop" I can already start to say that's most likely the issue at hand

Office laptops aren't typically great for playing Valheim compared to the recommended specs which Valheim's steam page provided
