People love working on passion projects if it's interesting enough. Money isn't the only way to get things done, but it's the only way you'll really have sole creative control. If you're willing to work with others on a shared project and have some negotiations and cooperation, you can get lots of stuff done for "free", just like you're putting in ideas and work without getting paid. Just can't throw it over the wall and expect miracles 😉

And there is a big convo to be had about engineers who actually have a stake in what they are working on, and engineers who are doing what they do because it's a paycheck, as well as the quality of work between the two. of course it's more a spectrum- you will find people who will do top dollar work for the dollar despite not being the first type- but those are hard to find. I'm only that way if I manipulate myself into being that way unfortunately haha. This usually ends up in me creating problems that I have to make myself solve in order to make the entire process doable. This is actually how i get through my dayjob with a smile at the end of the day, though that does not work every day, it works.

You can get 2-3 hits in between you enemies do, but you are also working with much shorter range on your attacks

Also, less damage but high backstab bonus, so you do more damage to enemies who don’t know you are there

Valheim isn't hosted itself on any official servers, so if you cannot connect, its either a steam issue, or an issue between you and your friends trying to connect to each other or wherever the world is hosted on.

some friends and i have a nomap no portal server... any tips on how to navigate the world other the skynav? Skytree and all its limbs are never all visable thanks to the stifiling fog or storm or trees... some bioms cant see the tree at all. (swamp, mistlands) skybox isn't static so i can't bust out the sexton... and the sun is never in direct few (reduced to approxamate bearing). Land travel is no issue... sailing however, is a recipe for disaster if you don't have 2 people with atleast 1000+ hrs with you to help keep and confirm your vector... maybe im missing something

There are many different techniques ofc, but you need to reduce everything simply to developing your own navigation system that is convenient for you. firstly, and most importantly, you should clearly understand where you need to go and why, if you just wander around without a specific goal, then no system will help you, your goals also depend on the game mode and current progress. secondly, you must always keep the compass in your head, for this you need to decide on the cardinal directions right from the start, you can, for example, set a cooking station to the north in the building menu and periodically use it as a compass (it will always point to the north unless you rotate it again), you can dig small holes in the ground and watch the sides of the hole, tree is almost always at your service, the sun, the moon... thirdly, you need to make paths, develop your own system of roads, which will help you navigate faster and more clearly in the most important areas of the world, stick to more memorable patches of land, leave signs, beacons, lighthouses, you can build a whole navigation system simply with signs, colors and fonts, torches perfectly help to track the world, including its timeline (a wooden standing torch with one resin burns for 166 minutes of real time, iron x2). The main thing to remember is that without a map there is nothing to explore (unless you are drawing your own map) - the task is to find all the bosses and slay them, you will easily find all the rest simply along the way, whether you like it or not.
