Is there anything more that I could do the lower the Use I also disabled a lot of Startups that were not needed aswell

Don't use a debloat script, your gonna end up doing more harm than good to your pc

#

Why is having processes open an issue to you? This is normal operational behavior @lucid dagger

You could use watch Christ Titus Tech’s video on debloating windows

yeah most of the debloat tools are more or less just "trust me, run my script that u downloaded off the internet" but with a gui

upbeat patio
#

yeah that’s one of the reasons for why I personally don’t like Windows, as it just uses SO much of your system’s resources

#

the best way to get things down is to uninstall all the oem and msft bloatware, using an msi laptop rn and with everything uninstalled I got it down to 49 even with steam and discord running, (~40 while idle iirc)

#

the rest is stuff like intel drivers/nvidia containers/windows processes etc

Or just reinstall the OS and replace with a better one (well Linux lol, no, just kidding)

ancient root
#

hoestly wish I could tbh, got work and university both with programs that's probs never gonna run on linux :/

upbeat patio
#

I‘m actually able to daily drive linux and I‘m really angry if people try to convince me not to

i am also using an asus gaming laptop(TUF series) and the armory crate is so annoying it uses CPU resources and ram resources

#

I wish I could disable it

ancient root
#

u could just uninstall it tbh

#

never used the default msi tool thing either, got the laptop and immediately just did a clean reinstall of windows

imo unless ur actively using the utilites that the oem shipped with, just going with a clean windows install will get rid of just about everything u don't need

yeah usually it's best to just reinstall windows

Thank you

ancient root
#

but if u have a lot of things installed/customized already, u can try using the sysinternals tools from msft or system informer from another dev to disable or set processes to demand start

lucid dagger
#

Which I am trying to avoid

ancient root
#

yeah in that case sysinternals/sysinformer is the easier way to go

#

helped someone else with windows issues and wrote out much more detailed msgs there

lucid dagger
#

Ok thank you

Also I have been thinking about deleting Iobit AC since I have noticed that is doing really nothing.

#

Or am I just not noticing what it is doing

ancient root
#

what's iobit

#

oh like ccleaner

#

yeah honestly most of those programs just add to the bloatware

#

any time I get a new pc I just immediately reinstall a clean windows install from the msft media creation tool thing, avoids all of the bloatware and oem software issues and u only need to deal with windows and that's it

#

and that's just a one time setup thing as compared to some oem/bolatware thing where they just set themselves to reinstall via scripts or some other method and is a nightmare to get rid of

Thank you for the info I'm trying to get a Desktop and will try to remember to pretty much do anything here

# thorn valley Get more ram 😉

I‘ve got 16Gigs, and it‘s not act the problem that I couldn’t just get more RAM but that barely anything‘s better than having your OS use less than 1GiB of RAM and to show that it is possible to have a perfectly usable system (for me even more usable one actually) without all the bloatware I actually never use.

I use 8gb on idle, can't do anything about it

upbeat patio
#

8GiB?!

#

Dude reinstalled the f*ing OS

I also use 6-8GB on idle with my Asus laptop, I have considered upgrading it before, but now that I upgraded my desktop to an RTX 3060Ti, it's kinda gone obsolete

So time to sell the laptop 💻? 🙂

So I just checked it, I'm on that laptop rn and with discord, spotify and OneDrive open, I'm using 47% of RAM at the moment. OneDrive is apparently the worst RAM hog at 7.6% lol

#

There are no ASUS things sucking up my RAM at the moment, it seems to be mostly because of OneDrive(7.5%), Discord (5.5%) and microsoft defender (3.5%)

And also, it's got the best keyboard I have. I can get the fastest on it and it's not deafeningly loud as the dell e-waste keyboard that came with my jet-engine Dell G5 5090

with a mostly clean install and just background stuff like discord/steam running it's sitting at 5.3, how are yall getting 8gb
